111. Moon Bin (Astro) Part 3
The weekend gave me time to rethink my plan. At first I was just going to talk to him but the time to think made me realize he probably wouldn't have responded anyway, so for the past two days I've been building the courage to do something I didn't think I would do, at least not this early.
Instead of waiting at my locker for Bin, I waited at his. When he saw me from down the hall, he looked like he wanted to turn around, but instead he kept walking towards me...well his locker.
"Good morning Bin," I said cheerfully.
He gave me a half-hearted smile. "Morning (y/n)," He said. "Shouldn't you be at your locker?"
"I was just there. But I wanted to ask you something," I said. My heart started pounding at the realization that I was actually going through with this.
"Yeah? What is it?" He asked as he put in his combination.
Out of the corner of my eye, I saw the girl from Friday who was spying on Bin in the courtyard. She was coming down the hallway looking at Bin, but when she saw me, her expression changed.
It was stale and directed towards me. It felt like she was subconsciously telling me to go away. On Friday she looked like and innocent, shy girl, but now she just looks rude af. It made me shift uncomfortably and I looked away.
"Hey, stupid, what did you want to ask me?" Bin asked impatiently.
I looked back up and him while playing with my fingers. "Oh, uh, never mind," I mumbled.
He furrowed his brows. "Whatever, I'll see you around then," He said as he closed his locker.
He walked away and the girl narrowed her eyes at me. I quickly looked around for Vernon and found him coming up behind the girl to his locker. She continued walking the way she was and stared me down as we passed each other. Once I was no longer next to her, I sprinted towards Vernon, my eyes still on the girl.
"Hey, what's got you looking so paranoid?" He asked.
I frantically tapped his shoulder. "Do you know who that is?" I pointed towards the girl.
"Keemi, I think her name is. I heard she's a yandere. Isn't that creepy? I feel bad for whoever she has a crush on, well more like who has a crush on her crush." He said, chuckling lightly.
My blood ran cold. That explains a lot. She looks like a yandere now that I think about it. Kind of short, long black hair, bangs covering the top half of her face. Gives me the chills just thinking about it. Well what the hell am I supposed to do now? I can't compete with a yandere, that's suicide! I don't want to end up like Kokona Haruka!
"Um, earth to (y/n)! Are you listening?" Vernon's voice snatched me from my thoughts and I snapped out of it.
"Huh?"
He rolled his eyes and repeated himself. "I asked if we're still going to the carnival this weekend."
That reminded me of my plan. I was going to ask Bin if he wanted to go to the carnival with me but that yandere-chan had to intimidate me with her eyes. I completely forgot that Vernon and I were supposed to go together. It's an annual thing, we've been going together for the past 3 years.
I can't believe I didn't think about that, am I too invested in this?
"And there you go again, what's occupying your mind?" He asked.
I shook my head. "Nothing, I'll see you later." I started walking to my class as Vernon called after me.
"So carnival or nah? (Y/n)?!"
When lunch time rolled around, I wanted to find Bin because I still wanted to ask if he would like to go to the carnival with me (and Vernon). I thought maybe he was in the courtyard again so that's where I checked first.
Sure enough, he was sitting on a bench with his headphones on, his hand reaching into a bag of chips. I was about to walk towards the door when I remembered Keemi.
I froze and nonchalantly looked around for her. When she was nowhere in sight, I made a run for it.
"And just what do you think you're doing?"
A voice that came out of nowhere startled me. I practically jumped out of my skin, but not because of the voice, but because of the who the voice belonged to.
"I-I was just going into the courtyard. I'm a student here, I can use it," I said a little too defensively.
"Oh really? Don't you have lunch this period? Shouldn't you be in the cafeteria?" Keemi asked.
"Well so should Bin but he's out here," I mumbled, immediately covering my mouth.
Her eyes narrowed. "So you admit you're here for Bin," She said, crossing her arms.
"What? No! I just wanted some fresh air. Wait, but how did you know I had lunch this period?"
"I do my research on people I find... interesting."
I paused and looked at her, blinking a few times.
What does she mean interesting? She's trying to find out my schedule so she can find the right time to kill me!
"Okay well it was nice chatting, but I must be going," I said, chuckling nervously.
She smiled. "Right, the cafeteria is that way." She pointed towards the cafe and tilted her head to the side. I stole one last glance at Bin who still seemed to be in his own world and sighed before turning around.
Talking to Bin might be harder than I thought. Ugh, why do I always have to go sticking my nose where it doesn't belong?
