109. Moon Bin (Astro) Part 1

Troublesome boy Moon Bin was at it again, wearing his stupid SnapBack, getting pissed at innocent students simply walking in the halls accidentally brushing shoulders with him.

"Do you not know how to walk?" He would ask.

Some students would cower away with his head down, others would mumble a quick apology, but no one dares to call him out for just being a jerk. For some reason though, some girls swoon over him like he's some kind of celebrity playing the role of a bad guy. But it's not a movie, it's real life, life that is hell when he's around. Well not exactly for me, but I hate when he, or anyone for that matter, is mean to others for no reason.

Maybe he's misunderstood, or maybe he really is just a douchebag. Lost in thought, I didn't realize that I was walking right past him. Our shoulders bumped, sending my book to the floor.

I quickly snapped back to reality and looked at Bin. He was already on the floor picking up my book. Without even looking at me, he handed it back.

"Sorry, here," He said softly.

I slowly grabbed my book back, mumbling a thank you before he continued on his way.

"Moon Bin! How many times do I have to tell you about that hat! Take it off or it's mine," A nearby teacher yelled sternly.

I looked over my shoulder, watching Bin as he snatched his hat off, shaking his brown hair out as he did. I chuckled quietly, turning back around. That boy has always been a mystery to me, I don't think he has many friends, if any, and I'm always tempted to go up and be friends with him, but one, he hates people, two, I don't even think he wants friends, and three, I like to sit back and observe him. I guess you could say I am interested in him. Is that weird?

After going home for the day, I thought about Bin as I sat at my desk doing homework, as I was brushing my teeth, and as I was laying in bed. I want to know how his brain works, I want to dissect him and figure out why he acts the way he does. I can already hear him telling me it's none of my business, but then again, maybe he won't say that. Maybe he will let me help him. After all, out of everyone, he does seem to be the nicest to me. Maybe this is a sign, an indirect cry for help. I had somehow talked myself into attempting to befriend Moon Bin.

The next morning, I would wait at my locker for him to go to his which was on the other side of the hall across from mine. I pretended to look at my reflection in the little mirror on my locker door. Before long, Bin was at his locker. I have never known a boy who also kept a mirror in his locker until Bin. I discreetly watched him through my mirror. I thought I was being sneaky, that is until Bin looked directly at me through his own mirror. I quickly shifted to the side so I couldn't see his reflection anymore. My heart was beating so incredibly fast, you would think I just ran a marathon. I waited a few seconds before hearing a metal door close. I looked behind me and saw Bin walking down the hall. It's now or never. I closed my locker and started to catch up with him.

"Bin," I said, holding my hand out like I was going to tap his shoulder.

He plastered on his bitch face, but once he saw me,  his face immediately changed to a surprised look.

"Oh, hey (y/n)," He said, surprisingly calm.

His tone was that of someone who's met me before on several occasions and gatherings with friends of friends. I mean, just yesterday he couldn't even look at me while handing a book back. He knows who I am, but we've never been that comfortable around each other. It was then that I realized I hadn't entirely thought my plan through for I didn't think I would make it this far.

"Um, so where are you heading?" I asked.

God (y/n), where else would he be heading? His first class is right next to mine, I see him every single day.

Before he could answer, I cut him off. "Never mind, don't answer that."

The look on my face made him realized why that was a dumb question since he didn't seem to catch on at first either. He chuckled, then quickly cleared his throat and went back to blank staring. I was surprised, I had never heard him laugh before, let alone smile. His eyes wandered over to the side of my face. I felt him staring but I waited a few seconds before acknowledging him. Before I could, though, someone had bumped into Bin, sending him back a few inches.

The young kid looked up in horror. "I'm so sorry Bin! I-I wasn't-"

"No, it's fine, I wasn't paying attention," He said.

The kids eyes widened and he quickly took the opportunity to speed walk to his class.

I was genuinely surprised of what just happened. "Well that was out of character," I said, almost snorting.

Bin shot me a look. "What do you mean?" He asked.

"Well usually you would just yell and be all like get out the way! Or watch it! You know, normal Bin things," I said, trying my best impression of him.

His expression changed. He looked almost regretful. "Is that what you think of me?"

Judging by the tone of his voice, I could tell he was upset. I was tongue tied. Is he really not aware of his actions?

"Well, I guess, in a way, yeah," I said, trying to be as nice as possible.

"Oh," was all he said.

I was trying to think of what else to say, but I was tongue tied yet again. We had come close to our classes but before he went into his, he looked at me out of the corner of his eye.

"I'll see you around," he said.

I sighed. Nice going (y/n).
