107.Jinhoo (Up10Tion)

"Here's to us," Jinhoo raised his glass.

"To us," I raised mine and we clanked them and drank the deep red wine inside.

Jinhoo and I are celebrating our 2nd year dating anniversary in a nice, fancy restaurant. The past 2 years with him has been the best years of my life. I've never felt so close to someone before. We have a connection that never happened between me and exes, I hope it stays that way. Jinhoo is so good to me, I can't ask for a better person to be in a relationship with. We took our last sips of wine and looked longingly at each other.

"Are you ready to go?" He asked.

I smiled and nodded. The ride home was spent in silence, Jinhoo with one hand on the steering wheel, the other holding mine. When we got home, Jinhoo wasted no time and I immediately felt hands on my waist and kisses on my neck.

"Someone's impatient. Can I at least take my shoes off first?" I asked, giggling.

"I'll take them off when I take off the rest of your clothes," He mumbled.

I raised my eyebrows and smacked his arm. "Jinhoo!" He started laughing.

"What?" He turned me around to face him. "It's not like that hasn't happened before,"

He smiled cutely and I couldn't hold my laughter. He pulled me closer by the waist and kissed my cheek. My eyes caught something moving on the other side of the living room and I looked up. The curtain was blowing in the wind and I furrowed my brows.

"Did you open the window before we left?" I asked.

"Wasn't it already open?" He asked.

"No, I closed it,"

"You probably didn't," Jinhoo kept trying to kiss me, but I pushed him off a little.

"No, I remember closing it. Why is it open?"

"You probably just forgot to close,"

"Jinhoo! I close it! If you didn't open it, them someone must have! What if someone broke in?" I asked, crossing my arms.

Jinhoo sighed. "Fine, I'll check it out," Jinhoo walked over to the window, pulled the curtain and took a second to look out. He stood back up and went to close the window but he stopped. "The locks are broken," He said.

I panicked. "What?! W-What if they found our cash stash? What of they stole from us?" I gasped. "What if they're still here?" I whispered.

Jinhoo came back over to me and put his hands on my shoulders. "Call the police, I'm going to look around to see if anything is missing," He said quietly.

"No, what if they're hiding in a closet then come out and hit you over the head?" I asked.

Jinhoo sat me down at the dining table. "Just call the police,"

I rolled my eyes and took my phone out as Jinhoo went to start looking around. As I was telling the dispatcher what happened, I heard a loud thud coming from our room followed by yelling.

"Ma'am, are you alright? What was that?"

I ran to our room and was horrified to see someone kicking Jinhoo while he was on the ground. I screamed and told the dispatcher we needed help immediately.

"Alright, someone will be at your location in less than a minute ,"

After I hung up, I ran over and grabbed the empty glass Starbucks bottle off my nightstand and hit the intruder over the head. He grabbed the back of his head and whipped his head towards me. I instantly recognized who it was.

"You," He said.

"There you are!" He lunged at me and grabbed me. He pushed me down on the ground and pinned my arms down. "You're going to pay for what you did to me," He spat.

"Get off of her!" Jinhoo, despite being badly beaten, he pushed the intruder off of me and punched him repeatedly in the face.

I could hear sirens in the distance. The intruder pushed Jinhoo off of him and used his remaining strength to flee. I hurried and crawled over to Jinhoo.

"Oh god, Jinhoo," I used my sleeve and wiped the blood from his nose.

He grabbed my hand, stopping me. "Don't ruin your dress," He said.

I sighed, brows furrowed. The police had called paramedics to tend to Jinhoo as they asked me questions.

"Do you have any idea who the intruder was?" A police officer asked me.

I sighed and closed my eyes. "His name is Kang Jaemin, he's my ex-boyfriend. He's served time before and I guess he's out now and out to get me," I shrugged and opened my eyes.

"Well that makes our job a lot easier. Thanks for your cooperation, we'll catch him and make sure he never bothers you again,"

"Thank you," After the police and paramedics left, Jinhoo had a worried look on his face.

"What?" I asked.

"That guy is your ex?" He asked. I nodded. "What did he mean by he'll make you pay for what you did to him?"

"After I broke up with him he started stalking me and he broke into my apartment and set up camera's all over the place. In the kitchen, in my room, the bathroom, and-" The memories started coming back and I my eyes started watering. "He watched me for 4 months before I finally found a camera hidden in one of my stupid fake plants," My voice cracked.

Jinhoo listened intently, his eyes were sad. "I called the cops and got a restraining order which he violated. When he said what I did to him, he means getting him sent to jail. I moved and everything, but I guess he found me. Jinhoo, who knows how long he's been following and watching us! He probably knows everything about you!" I started crying and Jinhoo pulled me into his embrace.

"Why didn't you ever tell me this?" He asked.

"I didn't want you to leave because of the drama," I mumbled.

Jinhoo just hugged me tighter. "Oh (y/n), that just makes me want to protect you even more. I wish you would've told me, I would've been able to keep you safer," He said.

I breathed in his scent and the tears kept falling.

"You're okay now," Jinhoo's soothing voice calmed me down and he wiped my tears. "Come on, it's been a rough night," He led me to our room and we got ready for bed.

"Can we sleep with the lights on?" I asked.

"If it will make you feel better," We left a lamp on and snuggled as close as possible. Jinhoo put his arms secure around me.

"I'm sorry for not telling you," I said.

"Don't worry about it. Just know I'll always be here to protect you, I love you,"

I smiled and kissed him. "I love you too,"
