Chapter 8

Manami's POV

"Well, I wonder if it'll be fine to become a bandit just once in my life."

"Yona dear, didn't you give out our bandit group name just a moment ago?

I blanked out. Tuning out the conversations of our, now bandit, group.

--

"Father! NO! LET GO!" The child screeched. At that moment I really snapped.

I gripped the soldier's wrist snapping it. He shrieked letting go of the child. I swiftly kicked his face causing him the fall to the floor.

"Who do you think you are... To separate a child from their father... Do you want to die?" I said with a dangerous look in my eyes.

--

I clenched my fist.

What kind of place is this...

I felt someone's hand on my head. I quickly slapped it away. I looked up to see Hak holding his hand up.

"Woah Miss Magic, I-"

"I'm going to go cool down," I muttered before using the fire that was subsiding around my feet to jump away back towards Iksoo's house.

I made it back to the house in no time thanks to my magic.

The thought of the soldiers continued to make my blood boil. I went to the river where I fell before. I carefully bent over cupping the water and splashing it on my face.

I sighed as the cool water seemed to calm my senses.

"Manami?"

I jumped in surprise almost tripping into the water for a second time. I reached on clinging to whoever had spoken. Thankfully I didn't fall in.

"You can let go of me now. I know everyone wants to touch me but I'm not into younger girls like yourself."

I let go of JaeHa while rolling my eyes.

"Why did you follow me?" I asked sitting down at the edge of the river. I let my hot feet dip into the water creating a satisfying sizzling sound.

"Yona was worried. Surprised you didn't notice me following you." Jae Ha said as he sat down, crisscross applesauce, next to me.

"I guess I wasn't paying attention."

"Those soldiers really got you fired up. I was worried you were going to kill someone."

--

"I'LL KILL YOU!"

"Mana-chan you can't do that!" Natsu scolded me. I crossed my arms with a pout.

"Why not!? You say that to the bad guys when you're mad!" I defended my actions.

"Yeah but that's different!"

"How is that different!?"

"Cause I say it to scare them!" Natsu explained. Happy nodded his head, "Ai!"

"But did you see what he did! Maybe he deserved to be killed!" I yelled clenching my fist.

"Manami..."

I tensed at his stern voice. I gulped.

"Even if that were the case. You can't kill people! That's not right! If anyone has to kill, it has to be me."

"W-well... You k-know didn't mean it either!" I yelled at both of them as guilty tears pricked the corners of my eyes.

"Fine. Then we both won't say it! If we don't mean it then don't say it!" Natsu concluded.

--

"No need to worry about something like that. I would never kill anyone." I assured him.

Would I..?

I shook the thought off and splashed my feet in the water.

We sat in comfortable silence. The calmness of the atmosphere and the water calmed me down as my mind began to wander as I thought of nothing.

--

"Woahh~" I marveled at the egg with blue streaks on it.

"Yeah! If you keep it warm then it'll hatch." Lisanna chirped.

My eyes widened.

"Perfect!" Natsu cheered.  He boarded the blue egg with fire.

"Not like that you idiot! Be careful we're trying to hatch the egg not cook it!" Lisanna scolded him. I giggled as Natsu sheepishly placed the egg on a pillow.

"You're gonna have to work hard if you want that to hatch. Since you usually just burn and break things all the time." Erza said. We all turned around.

"Erza!" I chirped running to hug her.

"E-Erza!" Natsu replied nervously.

"I-I didn't hear you come in," Gray said with a gulp.

"You're brother might finally do something productive for once, huh?" She grinned down at me. I nodded my head with a laugh.

"I was looking for you, Erza!! We can pick up where we left off. Come and get it!" Mirajane yelled with her hand on her hips.

"Now that I think about it. We never did finish our match, did we?" Ezra glared back at Mirajane. The two immediately began fighting each other. I sweatdropped at both of them running back over to Natsu.

"Productive my butt..." Natsu pouted.

~

I stared at the egg intently waiting for something to happen.

"How long do we have to wait?" I complained impatiently. Lisanna laughed at me.

"We have to patient. We don't wanna hurt the dragon in the egg." Lisanna explained.

"Yeah! We want him to be big and strong!!" Natsu jumped up swinging his arms. I nodded my head quickly.

"The biggest and the strongest!" I cheered jumping up with Natsu. Lisanna laughed at us.

"It's almost like we're our own family," Lisanna said with a smile.

"What do you mean?" Natsu asked sitting back down. I sat on his lap looking over to Lisanna.

"Well, I'm the mom and you're the dad and the egg is like our baby who hasn't been born yet." She explained. I pouted.

"What am I then?" I questioned loudly.

"Well," She thought about it for a second.

"You're the cool aunt!" She giggled.

Cool..?

"So I'm the coolest?" I asked.

"Yep!"

"That's okay I guess..." I muttered trying to suppress the grin that was forming on my face.

We all smiled and hugged the egg together like one big happy family.

--

I heard something fall. I jumped out of bed in surprise. Iksoo was on the ground he stubbed trying to sit up again only to trip over his clothes and fall back over.

I stifled a giggle.

"Are you okay?" I asked.

"Yes! I'm sorry for waking you up. You looked like you were having a nice dream." He apologized. I smiled softly thinking about the memories.

"Yeah... it was a nice dream..."

"Sorry!" Iksoo apologized again. I shook my hands at him.

"No! Don't feel bad. It was about time I woke up anyway. Wait... When did I fall asleep?"

"I don't know. Jaeha brought you here and he went back to the village."

I must have fallen asleep at the river.

"I should be joining them again, don't you think?"

"I guess so."

I walked towards the door waving goodbye.

"Oh. Manami." Iksoo stopped me. I turned around and quirked my eyebrow.

"Don't worry. The heavens told me you won't be as lonely anymore soon. Seeing as you're not from around here." Iksoo said in a more serious tone than I was used to.

"U-umm I'll keep that in mind." I stuttered out surprised.

What the heck is that supposed to mean?

--

After rushing away from the village so quickly I decided to take my time going back to the village. I thought back to how I burst out in anger.

"Ughhh! That's so embarrassing!" I groaned dragging my hand on my face. The village came into sight after an hour. The sun was already setting.

I love sunsets.

Maybe cause they remind me of Igneel. We used to train till the sunset and the orange sky looked like a painting always catching my eye. Though Igneel and Natsu were never ones for scenery.

Or maybe, it was because it reminded me of fire. The way Natsu and I fought together and the flames enveloped us in the same orange.

Or maybe, it was simply just beautiful.

Or maybe, I-

I slapped my hands on my face.

WHY AM I REMINISCING SO MUCH!? I FEEL LIKE AN OLD LADY!

A little girl ran up to me as I reached to edge of the village with a flower.

"U-umm... Thank you so much for today!" She bowed quickly, shoving the flower in my hands, and running away.

I smiled looking at the flower. It was orange. Just like the sunset.

I placed the flower behind my ear and continued walking through the village. Nothing had changed, but for some reason, the aura that once was tense was now light and happy.

I strolled through the village getting slightly more confused as I went.

Where did my dragon bois go?

Out of nowhere, Jaeha landed right in from of me. I jumped back startled.

"WHAT THE HELL? DON'T SCARE ME LIKE THAT!" I yelled at him. He laughed.

"What would you rather I let you wander around aimlessly?" He grinned at me. I crossed my arms.

"No..."

"We set up outside of the village. We were helping some other villages close by while you were getting some beauty sleep princess." He winked at me.

I rolled my eyes.

"Cause God knows you need it." He added on with a smirk. I punched his arm.

"Ow~ Princess~" He whined. I made a gagging face.

"Oh my god. Stop before I throw up."

"Anywho... Lead the way. I'm hungry." I commanded pointing a finger dramatically.

"Wrong way, princess~" Jaeha teased jumping the opposite direction.

"WELL, HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO KNOW WHERE YALL R!?"
