#2_Officially family + She knows
Sophie woke up to find the other half of her bed empty again. It had been a year since Shadowflame had been officially adopted by the Foster family, and every weekday, Sophie would find Shadowflame's half of the bed empty. Besides in the mornings and during school hours, you never saw one without the other.
She walked downstairs to the kitchen to find her parents eating blueberry pancakes with a cup of coffee each. No matter what they did, Shadowflame would be up by seven and could be found in the kitchen cooking breakfast despite what time she slept last night or helping Mrs Foster set the table. She claimed that it was now a habit for her to be up by sunrise after being on the road for so long.
"Hiya big sis!" She chirped, her father turned around "Morning soybean." Sophie rolled her eyes at the nickname "Morning" she poured herself a glass of orange juice and grabbed her plate which Shadowflame had already stacked six pancakes on and sat at the table just as Amy walked in.
Sophie and Shadowflame would then go about helping with the chores silently and walk to their respective schools after. They would then come back, do homework and do whatever they want the rest of the day. Weather it be dancing and singing in their room or baking cookies and nearly burning down the kitchen when Shadowflame tries to bake them at 4000000 degrees for one second again. But today was different. After homework, Amy was taking a nap while her two elder sisters were talking quietly.
Shadowflame didn't even bother dancing about the bush, she just went straight out "You have telepathy don't you?" Sophie would've tried to deny it but based on her thoughts, she knew there was no use holding back so she admitted defeat. Instead of going billastic, Shadowflame just handed her a book "A character in the book has telepathy, the tagged page is the part where the character is undergoing training, try it, maybe it might help." She just sat down at her sewing desk and began to design.
Sophie looked at her in shock "How did you know, and how are you not freaking out about it?"
Shadowflame glanced at her over her shoulder "You were making it abovious, and just because you are special, doesn't mean you are bad." Sophie looked down at the taged page, and began training herself.
Within a month, Sophie knew how to block out the thoughts.
