#13_Brown eyes with blue cores?

Shadowflame didn't know why she woke up, but she knew that she was not happy about it. It felt too early for her to wake up and that is saying something.

She was wondering why the bed she was lying on felt so soft like a cloud. Why, when she reached out, Sophie wasn't there. And why she felt so refreshed. For a moment, she feared that meeting Sophie was just a dream. Then she remembered Elwin giving her some detoxing medicine and her just reading herself to sleep.

Wait. Reading herself to sleep...

Her eyes flew open as she bolted upright and began searching frantically. Where iS THE BOOK I AM PANICKING INTERNALLY WHERE IS TOWER OF DAWN WHERE IS IT WHERE IS MY BABY WHAT THE MINT CHOCOLATE CHIP HAPPENED TO MY PRECIOUS-

"Thump" found it. Shadowflame rolled off the gigantic bed and onto the soft carpet where the blue book was with a louder "Thump"

The door creaked open and Dex entered the room. "Shadow? What are you doing on the floor?" He asked. "Getting my book." She yawned, stretching like a cat. She picked up the blue and grey book as Dex helped her up. "Thanks." She mumbled. Still in a cranky mood from her sudden interrupted sleep.

"No problem, and what happened to your eyes?" "What?"

"Your eyes." Dex said slowly, "Why are the cores blue?" "My eyes don't have blue cores." "Well they do now." Shadowflame ran to the big mirror on the other side of the giant room and looked at her reflection. Everything was normal with the exception of her hair which was silkier and gorgeous than ever and the blue streak in her bangs faded. And her eyes.

Like Dex said, they had blue cores. Electric blue cores. And that is when she began to internally panic. Again. Only this time, the room flooded, a strong wind blew and fire shot out of her hands.

"Shadow! Shadow. Calm down." Dex soothed her. Soon, water stopped running into the room, the wind stopped and the flames died down to sparks. "Dex, what is going on?" she looked at him, confused, "What's happening?"

"I don't know." He admitted. Shadowflame began pacing around the room, calming herself down. Soon, all the water flowed out of the room and the sparks at her fingertips had died down completely.

"Dex, could you make me some of those brown eyes serums?" She looked at him pleadingly. "And not tell anyone about this? I'd rather keep this a secret."

Dex nodded, understanding her situation. He didn't want anyone to know he was a technopath like how Shadowflame didn't want anyone to know her special abilities. "I'll come back as soon as possible, okay?" He reassured her. He was about to step out of the room when Shadowflame call out to him "Dex,"

He turned to look at her, "thank you. For helping me." Dex smiled gently. He was actually seeing the soft side of this strong, confident and fearless girl. A side she barely showed anyone. A side Sophie didn't know about. "Anytime, we are friends, aren't we."

He stepped out of the room and shut the door behind him.
