Theory #1
Ok, so this theory I've had for awhile now. It has to do with the preface in the beginning of every book and how it may tie with the last book of the series.
This one is a bit far-fetched, but I really like it.
Every preface does technically describe an event that occurred in that particular book, right? But, at the same time it doesn't.
In the first one, it talks about memories making its way through Sophie's mind as she is held hostage. At first thought, you just think that it's her kidnapping with Dex in book one. But what if it isn't?
Think about it. She questions why the black swam would kill their own creation. She never really knew much about the black swam in the first book. Or anything about Everblaze. She also mentions the fires back in San Francisco and "The spark before the blaze." I feel like now that Forkle is dead, she might nit really know what to do next and she might screw something up or fail project Moonlark by book 7. Maybe the remaining of the collective will need to kill her because she is to dangerous, powerful, or even broken?
Which brings me to book two's preface. It sounds like the cave hideout scene with her healing up until when she mentions that she isn't the black swans puppet anymore and the she is broken and that all she had left was trust.
I don't have much to say for this one except that maybe she decides to drink some elixir that could kill her or something and then help save everyone else. But, then again, idk. Just theories.
Third book preface now!
Ok, so in this one I at first though it was the scene where she finds out the stuff about Brant, but the mirror slipped out of her hand and then she continued listening to the story realizing that her kidnapped had been waiting and watching silently all this time. But, wasn't Sophie alone when she found out? And wasn't she reading it to herself? Annnnnnd also, Brant wasn't ever hiding in plain sight or watching silently. He's been chilling in his brick house waiting for his deserts every few months (courtesy to Grady).
So maybe, if tying this theory to book ones. Sophie could have gotten kidnapped by a Black Swan member and they could be trying to kill her, OR they could offer her the elixir to solve her problems (second book). But, theory.
Neverseen!!!!!
In this Preface it doesn't even sound like the Mt Everest Attack at all. It sounds like an epic battle scene that would occur at the end of book 7. Because the Mt Everest Attack didn't have as many members of the Neverseen there as it sounds like they do in the preface. And it also states that their disguises were abandoned, which they weren't in the book.
And then also, correct me if I'm wrong, but, I don't think Sophie used her pendant that can turn into flames at the Mt Everest attack. I know she used it at Exillium, but I'm pretty sure she didn't use it there.
Lodestar <3
This kinda sounds like the peace summit gathering, but at the same time it doesn't. Because I'm pretty sure Sophie didn't voluntarily walk through the flames. And it also mentions at the end in cursive letters, "This is what they want."
Whoaaaaaa Ok, back it up right there. Is Sophie starting the fire? Like she is in the Everblaze Preface? Is she "Fighting fire with fire?" Hmmm?

Omg!
This took so long to write. I also had all my books laid out as I would read the prefaces and think about them.
I really hope you enjoyed this. Because I enjoyed writing it!
PLEASE COMMENT MORE THEORIES SO WE CAN LINK THEM TOGETHER AND MAKE THE TIME FLY FASTER WHILE WE'RE WAITING TILL (night)FALL!!!! (See what I did there) *laughs to self*
