spoilers stellarlune thoughts and theories 3000 words
(this was mediocrely edited sorry)
Okay, I finished Stellarlune the day it came out and my mind just went down a rabbit hole of theories so just bare with me. I'm going to mention quite a bit of mythology that I think could possibly relate to the man at the end of the book, elysian, nightfall, lodestar, and stellarlune
I have a lot more I have to go through later but that calls for me searching throughout the whole series which is something that I don't have the time for right now. Moving forward I'm going to share a lot of definitions that I think that could relate and where Shannon mightve pulled the plot from and Id like for yall to read through it so maybe you can understand my theory though process just a bit better.
Here's the definitions and information: if you just want my theories scroll till the block ends:
Tezcatlipoca: god of the smoking mirror, enemy of Quetzalcoatl

Pleiades: 7 daughters of Atlas who held up the heavens, brightest star cluster, a river was rerouted to align with the cluster, were water gods, the cluster marked the alignment of the aztec calendars, celebrated by a fire ceremony for the sun rebirth they'd watch the stars until midnight then the star cluster would reach zenith (highest point in the sky) meaning that the world would be safe from demons coming down if they burned human sacrifices.
Zenith: point where there is the most power, point in the sky or celestial sphere directly above an observer, cam from arabic sarat ar-ar meaning path overhead and was the highest point in the heavens
Zenith heaven: opens up for immortality in two steps, 3 impurities shall be cut (touchstone?) and then suppressed to achieve perfection the second step is realizing true nature (sound familiar?)

Lodestar: guide star which symbol in the books had 16 prongs
Elysium: pt2: would also be known as the fortunate isles in the western ocean, would be reduced down to one Island, only wind over the plains, "preserved three times to keep souls free, follow zeus' road to the tower of cronus where ocean breezes blow around the island of the blessed and flowers of gold are blazing" fortunate isles are said to be in the atlantic ocean, sicily islands river of salex and libya are believed to be along the prime meridian
Rhadmanthus: one with the power to send people to elysian or tartarus, ruled crete
Shakti: primordial energy
Nox/Nyx (yk like from the flowers): night, beginning of creation, mother by hypnos of sleep, thanatos of death, erebus of darkness and aether of light. Practically anything with a keeper lore theme, nox imprisoned cronus, nyxisa is a mountain of venus

From here on out i'm copy pasting
Bucollosisia:is a hybridized bacteria that ogres can make. They are harmless by themselves, but they can produce soporodine as a waste product. Soporodine is a sedative that, in strong enough doses, can put any creature to sleep forever. However, most of the bacteria die before producing any soporodine. The only food source that can sustain them is the ash of sleep plants burned by Everblaze, as it contains enough nitrogen and other unknown substances needed to keep bucollosiscia alive
Brumevale:a powerful sedative secreted from Bucollosiscia, a hybridized bacterium. The bacteria themselves are harmless, but the soporidine they secrete can be lethal. When applied, the affected individual has no thoughts nor dreams. Although difficult, it is able to be produced—sleep-inducing flowers burned with Everblaze can sustain the bacteria long enough to harvest the sedative. The Neverseen produced many batches of soporidine in order to threaten both Elves and humans, as they are the only ones with the cure.
Alabestrine: is a solo star, meaning it is separated from the other stars. Because of this, its light is known as "pure light", unaffected by other light around it. Alabestrine is related to the Initiative Symbol and the Initiative that allows the Neverseen to move from hideout to hideout.
Gwynaura: solo star, neverseen hideout (16), means white gold in welsh
Magsidian: is a rare dwarven mineral that changes properties based on the way it is carved
Polaris: north star that stays fairly still, used to refer to an individual's "north node" or destiny, the path of more fulfillment and purpose. It's part of two of the most visible constellations in the sky, The Big and Little Dipper. Is a lodestar.
Okay yay terms are over so let's get into it!
Kay so with this show down I think that elysian is basically a god of the world and can give elves the immortality that they supposedly rejected, he can also probably make elves ruthless and more human like vespera was trying to figure out how to do. Since she's ancient she probably knew that it was a possibility. That would explain how keefes mom could just absolutely wreck vespera no problem. Sure she said that she was just kidding so she'd be underestimated just like her being a conjurer. (I legit thought that we already knew that she was a conjurer but I guess Im just stupid, anyways) But back in nightfall she hesitated when trying to take people out with the sorpindine, however shes known to be a great actor but I trust the despretness she felt to team up with vespera and learn from her(she also has already killed though so idk). What I want to know is how she had so much time on her hands to create things like the gorgonops, experiment on keefe, live a normal fake life, build a organization based in telling half truths and secretive manipulation, and then also finding the most hidden place in the entire universe AND THEN OPENING IT. I feel like somehow Tinker links into all of this and I'm extremely curious about her. I doubt that dexs teacher is the old neverseen technopath but I can't think of any other techno... Tinker hates fire though, and doesn't trust other species as we know of. But lady irka just doesn't add up to me either. Sophie's mirror was mentioned in this book though but it was more about her heart's resistance to hurting things that seem alive so the chances that its the creator of that is slim (I think it was dexs teacher anyways so whatever).
Since there's still time left before the 10- days are up I'm confused on whether or not they're going to be there the whole time or if they're going to end it before anything happens to begin with. Which I highly doubt. Death is sure to happen as one person has already died and Gisela definitely has the upper hand because one she was waiting for them so the unknown dude is chillin with her. Sandor is already threatened by the trolls that Gisela surely got from the trolls and not from making any threats or stealing seeing as how they just put their place on lockdown.
HOWEVER the troll queen seemed pretty cool even after all the stuff with the newborns happened, I'm assuming that gisela maybe did threaten them and the queen refused to meet her demands and give up what she wanted so gisela just killed a ton of trolls and/or destroyed everything. Which would explain why they wouldn't want any outsiders coming to visit or try to negotiate. The trolls are kinda morally gray so idk.
The next book's beginning is what shannons been leading up to this whole series so I'm expecting it to all play out dramatically and definitely make us cry, it'll also probably tie up every single space related subject brought up throughout the series in a nice villain speech wrapped with a shiny bow.
Also can I just say that I'm so happy that fitz was able to recognize a lot of his issues, it was all written very well in my opinion. Also I'm obviously happy about my otp since i was eight going canon and I think that that too was put together properly. Though it does make me scared that it happened in this book instead of the last one, now I feel like there's a higher chance of him dying more than usual. He seems to be okay with whatever happens though but I'm not prepared for what shannon has planned I have no clue what the last step could be with stellarlune even though I found some solid mythology to help explain elysium. The best I can come up with is keefe becoming the first true elf or whatever like how they were at the #dawnoftime before the ancients became concerned about the growth of the elves.
Less importantly the fact that elves tried to do things that the other species are best at is odd to me, I mean I understand, i get it I do but I feel like its related to them trying to advance without elysium or something of that nature. Anyways it was brought up an odd amount of times and I think that's weird, same with the whole sophie needing to go to school thing, because either there's something that's at/in/about the school that was mentioned that's secretly super surprising or its the opposite of that and foxfires actually a scam and all of elven history is just bogus because of all the removed memories specifically the ones in ancient caches. I hope and pray that in the next book that bronte allows for people to see his and that fintan just stops being a weirdo who getting elf dementia
The whole thing with fintan and his flowers is odd and I know that it goes into elysium probably because that's almost certainly one of his removed memories that he got again and I did find that relation between Nox and elysium but that might have just been a coincidence since elysium is seemingly more about the point of purity, heaven, stars aligning ect and rivers for some reason.
Back to school, the only important things that Sophie learned to me is how to bottle wind and stuff which was mentioned however she's terrible at doing so. Also the whole cognate thing Im struggling to understand how thats truly going to go into play because no offence but only using it to get the starstones isnt enough for me. Even though Ive been mentioning them repeatedly since they were first ever discovered to be a thing. It was worth it for fitza and sophie to talk everything out though but I still hoping that shannon will really reveal what cognates do and hopefully it can help them get through their current predicament. I wouldnt be surprised if they use their joint force to break into elysuims mind. (Im not understanding how hes elysium unless the fields were named after him or something at the beginning of time) hopefully itll work though and not like break them dear lord.
Also the point that ancients are unstable was heavily pushed in this book and I just want to know fi it relates to elysium and if it does adn thats why it was mentioned then why doesnt it apply to bronte? Is it because hes not that ancient? I was said that he wasnt a council member yet when atlantis was sunk and they lost cities began breaking away from humans.
And if its true that the elves broke away from the humans because they were planning on trying to over throw the elves then why didnt the elves let them try? Even with their numbers at that point in time the elves still would have won, unless say.. They had elysian powers perchance? Or maybe just hybrids could use it?
Quintessence and the 6 stars already have so many unexplainable functions along with magsigain, special plant, and ogre amoebas that Im not even going to try and figure out how power works in this world and instead im just going to pray that its explained by the end of the series.
Speaking of amoebas, Ro never came back, and I hope its not because shes injured, maybe shes found out that a part of her land was destroyed too with the crystals, if gisela gave some to cad and he used them to kill the kind them ros probably going to pick that issue over seeing that keefes back, hopefully if thats whats happened then ro is unharmed and was able to solve what forkle was concerned about. Cause all we know is that he wants to kill the king and that proof of him chopping stuff up is out there.
Her leaving behind hope though is almost to poetic that I wouldnt be surprised that she is in fact dead.
The wrights death and relation to stellarlune though still has me really confused, also why kill his daugher as well? Was she perhaps an experiment like keefe too?
Anywho the the three types of light (starlight from a 6th unmapped star that can only be seen during the nightfall event) can for the next however many days in the lost cities can make the unnamed dark crystal turn into the power source for stellarlune for keefe.
Also unless the rocks are severed the power will just drain back into the earth but the nightfall event rarely happens. So unless it was fintan or perhaps some other ancient council member that looked at their cache then im thinking that gisela is a lot older than a lot of us think. And it owuldnt be the weirdest thing she can easily just crop her ears to appear younger, we already know she has some secret surgeon out there because of the few mentions of her pulled back looking face because of all the scars that she tried to make look better.
Also the 6th unmapped star in the stellarlune symbol was sent to the human dude and it had 12 points on it so im thinking that the crystals absorb the most power at midnight like id assume anyways or maybe its the 12th star sign pisces the water zodiac which was discovered by a greek atronomer in the 2nd century. The two fish swimming in opposite directions rep venus and cupid. The constellation has 10 stars but only nine are named. Coughcoughcough. Also another star I want to place my money on is Betelgeuse along with the others mentioned at the begining of this chapter lol.
I swear is gisela only needed the human dude to do something like find the 6th star then im going to be upset. Surely any elf with a proper education like her would be better then any human atronomer out there.
Before I wrap this up I just want to mention keepers and washers so I dont forget, I want to know why kenric was so against the caches and instead wanted to use keepers, i could never trust a keeper and also I doubt washers are trust worthy too. I want to know yalls though on this. And well everything. Let me know if you want me to break this down more or whatevaaa and lemme know what you thought of the book book because im still dying to rant about sokeefe and dex and ro and jensi and glimmer and just well everything.
Anyways frfr the end goodnight and goodbye
