Jolie's life was upside down and twisted around. Firstly, her pyrokinesis had remanifested. Secondly, Aiden was acting weird. Thirdly, so was everyone else. She tried to ignore that the next day as she walked to class, wearing a deep purple dress that had a sweetheart neckline, and a dusting of lighter purple glimmer around the neckline, bottom, and cuffs. 

 She played with her necklace absentmindedly. It seemed that the previous students class was going longer than usual. But then she heard the voices. "I simply won't mentor a prodigy that is both an Mesmer and a Pyrokinetic." Lady Hatreen said. Jolie should have stopped listening there. "I understand." I. Understand. Who was it that was speaking? 

Don't look, Jolie told herself. She looked anyway. Her heart sank as she saw who it was- Aiden's mother. She had been a part of the Neverseen before she left with Fintan. That didn't make her feel any better though, because she knew why Aiden had been avoiding her. He was scared of her.
