Genderswap- The Whole Gang

Word count: ~2300 words

Thank you for requesting SparklyMagix! Sorry I took so long. The request is: a fangirl witch curses the squad to switch genders for a day because she's mad after reading Flashback. What happens next? Ft. Some tumblr headcanons.

Also, for the record, during this genderswap, I did switch pronouns. I wanted to let you know in advance, because now that I think about it, it probably did come off as insensitive, so I wanted to make that clear now.

"Damn it! No!" A fangirl hissed, as she tossed the special edition of 'Flashback' at a wall. "How dare they do this to me!"

In a fit of rage, she stormed over to her bookshelf, and pulled out a book of curses. As she flipped through the pages, a word caught her eye. Genderswap.

"Hah!" She cackled. "If I have to suffer, so should they!"

She muttered the spell, a flash of white telling her that the deed had been done.

"Mwahahahahahaha!"

Sophie sat up, reaching to unravel the braid from her hair. Braiding it helped her fall asleep- even if it was only an hour. She didn't feel her long locks at all, she realized that her head felt light.

"KEEFE!" She winced at her (his?) voice.

"Who are you?" A feminine voice asked from Keefe's sleeping bag. "Holy crap I sound like a girl!"

"It's Sophie!"

"Foster? Why do you sound like a guy?"

"I'm not sure! I was gonna blame you! Can you get up for a moment?"

Keefe sat up, and for a moment, Sophie thought that he- or she?- was Marella. Keefe had the same shoulder length blonde hair, and ice blue eyes. Even her voice was kind of high pitched, like Marella's.

"Um Foster..?" Keefe began, eyes wide. "You look like a guy."

Sophie groaned. "How do I look like?"

"Kinda like me, just neater hair and brown eyes. What about me?"

"You look like Marella."

"Oh great," Keefe muttered.

"I'm sorry, is there something wrong with looking like me?" A low pitched voice asked, as someone who looked exactly like Keefe held a flame in their hand.

"N- no there isn't!" Keefe whimpered.

Marella smirked- it looked too much like Keefe's. "Good."

A crisp accented voice groaned. "What's happening here? Ugh what's going on?"

With that Sophie realized that it was Biana.

"Wait is this not Keefe's fault?" Biana asked.

Biana rose up, with short hair that looked like Fitz. Well this time it wasn't as surprising, as they were siblings. "So how does Fitz look like?"

Biana pulled a blanket off of a sleeping bag, and Fitz groaned, trying to curl into a ball.

"Wake up!"

"What time i- why am I wearing a dress?" Fitz shrieked.

"I dunno man," Keefe shrugged. "I have to say that we rock the girl look."

A few moments passed by before Keefe burst into laughter.

"How do you think Bangs B- Girl looks like?"

"Shut up Keefe I don't want to hear it. And you're even more annoying now with that awful voice of yours." A new high pitched voice asked- probably Tam.

"Are high pitched voices annoying?" This new voice sounded kind of in the middle, but sounded more masculine. "It's Linh for the record. You think we should wake up Dex?"

"I say yeah, I mean he- she? I don't even know anymore- would probably know a solution." Fitz replied.

"I've woken up before all of you, for the record." Dex stated. "I've tried every elixir relating to gender I've thought of. This is some... Serious stuff going on."

"Black magic?" Sophie suggested.

Fitz chuckled. "I told you, there's no such thing as magic."

"Okay, but this is like some serious voodoo going on." Dex added.

"See, he gets it!" Sophie cheered.

"What's voodoo?" Tam asked.

"Some kind of wacky stuff, I'd guess." Marella guessed.

"I mean the just word voodoo sounds wacky," Biana agreed.

"Seriously?" Fitz mumbled. "Our genders have been swapped, we can't reverse it, and you're all just sitting here blaming it on something that doesn't exist?" She ran her hand through her hair.

There was silence for a few seconds.

"Um..." Linh began. "There's bigger problems. Like I need to use the washroom problems."

Tam sighed. "I'm gonna stand out the washroom door. If you have questions I'll answer."

The rest of the group sat in relative silence.

"Do you think... This is gonna last forever?" Keefe asked, finally breaking the silence.

"I don't know," Dex answered. "I don't know. I wish I knew what to do."

"Have you asked Kesler yet?" Sophie asked.

"Yeah, I have. He's normal, so are the triplets."

"What about mom and dad?" Biana asked.

Fitz shrugged. "Let's go check."

Right before the siblings could approach the door, it flung open.

"You have Foxfire today!" Della reminded them, eyes widening as she took in their appearances.

Keefe swore under his breath, as he realized that it was just them who had swapped genders. And the fact that there was Foxfire.

"Honey, I think you're needed here!" She called out.

Minutes later, a worried Alden came running in. "What the..?"

"We woke up like this, and none of us drank any elixirs. And Dex went to Kesler, and he has no clue either."

"Get ready for Foxfire," Alden ordered. "There's no getting out of it today." He specifically glanced at Keefe when he said that last part.

"I'll contact the Black Swan," Della added.

With that, they left the room, leaving the rest of them to start getting ready. Fortunately, it didn't take that long, due to the countless washrooms for each person to use. No unnecessary waiting times either. After they got ready, they all went to the dining table.

"Anyone else felt extremely awkward showering?" Biana asked.

"Biana not during breakfast!" Keefe hissed, as she glared at him. She held up a finger. "And if I hear another word about that... You don't even want to know what'll happen."

"Mmhmm." Tam replied, clearly trying to aggravate her.

"I swear Bangs Girl-"

"Don't you fu-" Tam was interrupted as Linh elbowed her.

"We're all eating breakfast. That's it. No foul language, no nasty talks." Linh declared.

Breakfast continued on in silence.

"Wait... Can't I put elixirs to at least customize my look?" Biana asked. "Like make my hair longer?"

"Nope." Dex added, fingering the hair that went all the way down to her thighs. "Whatever happened is irreversible. Unless we find something new to try."

"So basically, life hates us." Keefe said.

"I mean life generally hates us." Sophie commented. "With the Neverseen and all."

"I remember the good ol' days when I considered myself extremely lucky." Fitz said. "Now, here I am."

"I blame Sophie." Marella piped up. "All of this crazyness happened because when Sophie came."

"I didn't want to be some uber powerful important elf!" Sophie grumbled. "I blame Mr Forkle."

"You can play the blame game all you want, but it's not going to change anything." A raspy voice cut in.

All of them turned around to see Mr Forkle enter the room.

"Speak of the devil," Tam muttered.

"You've all apparently been put under a curse," Forkle began.

"I told you it was voodoo!" Dex whispered to Fitz.

"Let him finish!" Fitz hissed back.

"As I was saying. There's a curse. Currently, I'm not aware of the how, who, or why. I know it's from the Forbidden Cities."

"Hold up," Biana said. "That makes no sense!"

"We're looking into it. It should take by the end of the day to find out who casted the curse." Forkle finished. "Enjoy your day of Foxfire- I'm not allowing you to ditch because of this."

Keefe groaned. Mr Forkle left, but none of them wanted to eat breakfast anymore. Instead, they just sat there, stalling for as long as they could, and then left for Foxfire.

When they walked into the giant glass pyramid, they were met with stares.

"Who's that?"

"Are they new?"

"Why does that boy have brown eyes?"

"Is that Fitz and Biana? But they look kind of different."

The keeper gang tried to ignore the whispers for as long as they could, and got to their lockers with relative ease. Leaving them was more annoying.

•~•~•~•~•~•

"Hey Keeeeeefe." A girl drawled seductively, leaning on the locker next to Marella.

"It's Marella, shut the f**k up, and leave me alone." He rolled his eyes. He even opened his fist to reveal fire, which scared the girl away.

•~•~•~•~•~•

"Hah!" Three sets of voices cackled. "What even happened to you?"

Dex groaned, rubbing her hand against her face. "Why are you here?"

"I have to say Dex, you look better as a guy." Bex said. "You're making us girls look like a disgrace."

"I didn't ask for your opinion," Dex muttered, slamming the locker shut and walked away.

•~•~•~•~•~•

"Who's this? A new student with brown eyes?"

Sophie turned to Stina. "It's still me. Just a boy. Unfortunately."

Stina smirked. "Very unfortunate indeed."

"What do you want?"

"Honestly, I'm not even sure myself. I'm trying to find Fitz." The brunette then walked away.

"Just look for someone who looks like Biana!" Sophie called out.

•~•~•~•~•~•

Biana had it easy. He just vanished. Not that he was ashamed of how he looked- he was sure that he was rocking it perfectly. But Biana knew that other elves would mistake him for Fitz, and that would mean cute girls would try and flirt with him. And Biana was not ready for cute girls to flirt with him. It would be nicer if he could flirt with them himself, and in her normal body.

•~•~•~•~•~•

"Hey Linh- Woah why do you look so angry?" A girl asked.

Tam scowled, not wanting to be bothered. "It's Tam. You'll find Linh somewhere else. Leave me alone."

"Oh... Sorry to bother you!"

Tam nodded, before wrapping herself in shadows. She should have thought of it earlier.

•~•~•~•~•~•

A boy snickered as Linh walked past. "Is that Tam Song, smiling?"

Linh couldnt help but giggle at that.

"Holy crap he's giggling. The world's gonna end."

Linh smiled in amusement. He wondered if he should tell everyone he was Linh, or roll with it and have everybody convinced Tam was a softie (which was absolutely true).

•~•~•~•~•~•

"Ugh finally I found you." Stina sighed.

"I'm not Biana," Fitz stated.

"I'm aware. I was looking for you."

"Why?"

"Because," Stina smirked. "I want pictures of Dex looking stupid as a girl. Blackmail material. I would have asked Sophie, but I'm sure she wouldn't agree."

"And what makes you think I would agree?" Fitz asked teasingly.

Stina shrugged. "I mean, it's a prank on Dex."

"Don't do anything that could get either of you in trouble, and it's a deal. Though I hope you realize that I don't have a photographic memory."

"But both Sophie and Keefe do. And they'd gladly help you."

"Fine, but you also officially owe me."

"Fine."

•~•~•~•~•~•

"Marella!" Keefe's the Universe teacher called out, sounding just a tad bit too excited.

Great, just the person she wanted to run into. Clearing her throat, Keefe turned to face her mentor.

"Do you need anything from me? Aren't you Keefe's mentor?"

The mentor sighed. "Okay Keefe, drop the act. Magnate Leto already warned me about the whole genderswap."

It took all of Keefe's willpower to not groan. She was caught. And by the worst mentor too. Because he always enjoyed annoying Keefe, and this was just the beginning.

•~•~•~•~•~•

"So, how was class? Embarrassing?" Fitz asked.

"That's an understatement," Keefe muttered.

"Oh yeah," Tam agreed.

"It wasn't so bad," Sophie replied.

"Yeah, it was better than I thought it would be." Dex added.

"But it's only lunch. It's bound to get worse." Biana stated.

Keefe sighed. "My mentor knew exactly where to find me, and knew it was me. I don't wanna do empathy today."

"Do you ever?" Marella retorted, glaring at anyone who looked at the group for more than three seconds.

Keefe shrugged. "Point taken."

•~•~•~•~•~•

"Huh," Keefe began. "Empathy wasn't that bad. Maybe my mentor sensed my obvious discomfort for once."

"Good for you," Tam grumbled.

"Honestly can I just say, I kind of like being a girl," Fitz admitted. "It feels... Right? I was freaked out at first, but I'm used to it."

"I think I know what you're talking about," Sophie agreed. "I'm not saying I'd stay a boy forever."

"Are you saying Fitz might be trans and you're genderfluid?" Dex asked.

"What?" The rest of the gang (except Sophie asked in confusion.

Sophie shrugged. "Do elves ever feel like they have to change gender?"

"I've never heard of it." Biana replied. "But what's the first one, the second one makes sense."

"Oh, it's when someone feels like their isn't what they were born as. So they identify as something else."

"Huh," Marella said. "Interesting. I mean I'll be honest and say I'm not gonna miss being a boy."

"Yeah me neither," Linh agreed.

"And me too." Biana added.

"Im sticking with my own gender," Tam chimed in.

"Yeah same." Both Keefe and Dex said.

"Fitzy?" Keefe asked with a smirk. "Do you want us to pick you a new name if you decide that you wanna change?"

Fitz nodded excitedly, before realizing something. "You can help. Now let's head to Everglen, maybe Forkle knows something now."

•~•~•~•~•~•

"Wait you can't fix this?" Keefe shrieked.

Forkle shook his head. "I'm unable to get a location. You'll have to deal with this for a little while longer.

•~•~•~•~•~•

The fangirl checked the time. It was getting late, past sunset. Sighing, she opened up the spell book that she used to curse the Keeper gang earlier.

"It's been a day, the poor children have probably suffered enough. More than they needed to probably." She shrugged. "Oh well, time to undo it."

•~•~•~•~•~•

Sophie blinked, and everything felt different. She met the stares of all her friends- they looked normal again!

"Yes!" Keefe cheered.

"Wait but how?" Linh asked.

"The person casting the voodoo undid it." Dex answered, half jokingly.

Fitz sighed. "For the last time-"

Biana cut her off. "Whatever, it's done. Hopefully it doesnt happen again."

Forkle nodded. "I'd hope not."

Sorry its kinda bootleg, I lost inspiration.

(Edit, I hope it doesn't come so our of nowhere that Sophie and Fitz all of a sudden no longer identify as cis after this, mostly cause I know usually there's some kind of feeling that's been there, not something sudden like here...

I also just want to say that I normally wouldn't completely switch their pronouns after they swapped, but I wanted them to see how it felt, so like... The ending doesn't seem as sudden)
