Training
Kosu led his team through the vibrant landscape of the virtual world, excitement palpable in the air. After a short walk, they arrived at his private training room, a spacious area designed for immersive training exercises. The walls shimmered with digital displays, and an array of training dummies and obstacles filled the space.
"Welcome to my private training room!" Kosu announced, gesturing around. "Here, we can focus on honing our skills without distractions. First, I'm going to enable some features that will enhance our experience in this virtual world."
As he accessed the control panel, he used his administrator privileges to activate the immersive elements. A wave of energy pulsed through the room, and the atmosphere shifted. The team looked around in awe as the environment responded to the changes.
"Whoa! I can feel the weight of my weapon!" Mitscle exclaimed, lifting his dual guns. He swung them experimentally, marveling at the sensation.
Ashley, still processing the transformation, nodded in agreement. "And I can feel the mana flowing through my body. It's like I'm really here!"
Kosu smiled, pleased with their reactions. "Exactly! This system is designed to make the virtual experience as realistic as possible. Go ahead and try using your abilities!"
Encouraged, Ashley focused her energy, attempting to summon a small fireball. To her surprise, a vivid orb of flame materialized in her hands. Startled, she let it fly, and it shot across the room, sizzling against a training dummy.
"Did you see that?!" she gasped, her eyes wide. "I really created a fireball!"
The others exchanged glances, a mix of shock and excitement. Rhyth laughed, clapping his hands. "This is incredible! I've never felt magic like this before!"
Kosu nodded, feeling a swell of pride. "This is all thanks to the creator of this virtual world. He was an adventurer and my mentor. He designed it to allow users to experience their abilities fully."
While he didn't reveal Jinpei's name, he felt a warmth in his chest at the thought of his mentor's legacy. The room buzzed with energy, and he could see how immersed the team was becoming.
Mitscle stood quietly, a thoughtful expression on his face as he absorbed the features around him. Kosu noticed but didn't press him, sensing that Mitscle was processing something deeper. "What's on your mind, Mitscle?" he asked casually.
"Oh, it's nothing!" Mitscle replied, his laughter a bit too forced. "I was just thinking how much fun this is!"
Kosu raised an eyebrow but let it go, focusing on the task at hand. "Alright, now that we've got the immersive features enabled, let's get started on the basics. I'll teach you how to use the virtual world for training our skills, as well as how to work together as a team."
Kosu stood at the front of the training room, ready to introduce the team to some essential concepts of magic. "Alright, everyone, let's dive into two important types of magic you'll need to understand: Aura Magic and Domain Magic."
He paused, allowing the information to sink in. "Aura Magic is the inner magic that enhances your own performance. It can boost your strength, speed, and even your magical abilities. On the other hand, Domain Magic allows you to control natural forces, commanding them to do your bidding. Does anyone have questions about these?"
Ashley, her eyes shining with knowledge, raised her hand. "Aura Magic is often linked to a person's emotional state, right? The stronger your feelings, the more potent the aura. And as for Domain Magic, it can be incredibly versatile. For example, if you harness wind, you can create barriers or even use it to manipulate the weather!"
Kosu nodded, impressed by her grasp of the concepts. "Exactly! You've clearly done your homework, Ashley. Great insights!"
With the team engaged, Kosu continued. "Since this is a virtual world, any mana you deplete during training can be recovered with just a few simple commands. This means you can train your magic efficiently without worrying about running out of energy."
He noticed the team perk up at this. "And here's something even more exciting: special skills that you don't see every day can be reproduced in this virtual environment. Let me show you."
Kosu stepped back and focused his energy. "Watch closely." He drew his hand back as if holding a blade, then swiftly sliced through the air. A shimmering arc of energy shot forward, slicing through several training dummies with precision. The dummies fell apart, leaving the team in awe.
"Whoa!" Mitscle exclaimed, his eyes wide. "How did you do that?"
Kosu smiled, enjoying their reactions. "That was my special skill, Mind Slash. It's not exactly magic, but the AI in this virtual world can learn and reproduce techniques like this. It's a unique feature of this training environment."
After demonstrating, Kosu turned to the team. "Now that you understand the features, let's get to work. I want each of you to practice on the dummies and focus on increasing the efficiency of your skills."
As they moved to their respective training dummies, Kosu observed them closely. He saw Ashley take a deep breath, her initial timidity fading as she focused on her magic. Within moments, she was casting spells with remarkable precision, unleashing fire, wind, and thunder magic against the dummies. Each spell she conjured seemed to flow effortlessly from her, her confidence blossoming.
Kosu smiled, noticing how exceptional she was when it came to magic. "Great job, Ashley! Keep it up!"
Mitscle, on the other side of the room, was experimenting with steel magic. "This is so cool!" he shouted, conjuring an endless stream of bullets that he fired at the dummies from a distance. He concentrated hard, working on his aim and refining his skills as a ranger. "I can do this all day!" he added with a grin.
Kosu watched him closely, encouraging him. "That's the spirit, Mitscle! Work on your accuracy!"
Meanwhile, Rhyth was positioned slightly behind Ashley and Mitscle, ready to support them. Kosu had instructed him to focus on his role as a supporter rather than a combatant. "Use your buffs to enhance their attacks, Rhyth!" Kosu called out.
With a nod, Rhyth began to sing a melody that resonated through the room, casting supportive spells that boosted his teammates' abilities. The air shimmered with energy, and the effect was immediate; Ashley and Mitscle's attacks grew stronger, dealing heavy damage to the dummies.
"Nice work, everyone! You're really starting to come together as a team," Kosu encouraged, feeling a sense of pride swell within him. "Keep practicing and remember to communicate with each other."
As the training session progressed, the team fell into a rhythm, each member contributing their unique strengths. Kosu knew they were on the right path, and he felt a growing excitement for what lay ahead in their journey together.
