(Working Title) : Part 1
((Hey guys!! Wow, I really haven't been on in a while, have I? I have lost the password to this account in the app, so I couldn't really continue working on this account as smoothly as I would've liked to. However, this account is on my phones Safari page, and that's really been helping out when I feel like updating. Believe it or not, I'm working really hard on a story that I'm planning on getting actually published, and I'm so excited for it. I'm going to try to get it published in the next year or two, and hopefully I'll have more people working on it except for me. I've had a lot of help on it, but by a lot it's really me, and maybe one or two other people. I'm hoping to get more friends and writers to read the drafts, and hopefully it'll sell good. Anyway! I'm sure you're all excited for this new chapter, so thanks for reading, and I'm out!))
Korra had been working as a bartender for a few months now, and this was the first time Asami, her girlfriend for seven months, has actually come into the club. Korra herself didn't expect to see her raven-haired girlfriend approach the bar in a sleek red dress, earning most of the looks in the club. Korra had to stop making a Ice and Fire so she didn't drop it. That's how stunning her girlfriend was, and honestly, Korra hated it. Sure, Korra had earned herself enough looks from the people in the clubs due to her black pants, white fur vest, and long, loose blue tie, but that didn't mean she liked it. The vest, pants, and tie were all part of the unifrom, and Korra wasn't allowed to wear anything underneath, other than a bra and her usual boxers. So, seeing so many men and women stare at her girlfriend was a little bit of a kick in the gut, especially since she couldn't legally do anything to stop it.
Asami sauntered up to the bar, smiling sweetly at her girlfriend as she took a seat on a high, leather stool. "Hey there, pretty bartender. What's your name?" Asami asked, playing coy as she leaned against the bar, watching her girlfriend's slightly shocked and very pink face.
Korra coughed gently and finished the Fire and Ice, sliding it towards a blonde woman who had ordered it. "Korra. Lovely to.... meet... you?" Korra asked, not sure how to respond to this game that Asami was playing.
The mechanic snickered, putting both elbows on the top of the bar. "It was a hard day at the office. I think you know what I like," the taller girl winked, causing Korra to laugh a little.
"Sadly, I think that mixing every alcoholic drink we can find is against the rules," Korra said, smiling at her girlfriend, who raised a brow.
"Really? That's a shame," Asami said, turning her back to Korra, who was signaled by a man to get him a bottle of beer. As Korra did this, Asami scanned the dance floor for anyone who seemed to be watching her. While that did seem to be everyone in the entire bar, only a few people caught Asami's eye. The woman stood and walked to a man on the stripper stage, who dawned short shorts, a belt across his shoulder and abdomen, and a red scarf.
Korra watched Asami walk to the man on the pole, almost choking on the water she was drinking. The bartenders face brightened with a red tint as she watched Asami push some money into the man's shorts. Quickly, Korra waved at the man, getting his attention. She quickly made an 'X' pattern with her arms, then pointed at Asami, then to herself. There was a bit of a code within the establishment, and one of the secret rules among workers was that girlfriend's and boyfriends and spouses were off limits.
The man nodded slightly, and continued his dance before walking into the back room. Korra's shift had ended, and she basically sprinted into the joint staff after between the bar and the public stage.
"So, your girlfriend came? I don't know if I should be impressed or.... well, surprised," the man laughed softly as Korra shed her vest and pants, revealing black boxers, a black sports bra, and the low hanging blue tie.
"Shut up, Mako," Korra huffed, ruffling her hair up and letting it hang messily. "You know the code. I think boss man said that we switched, so you're on bar duty," Korra said, walking to the entrance of the public stage and stretching a little as the person before her did their dance.
"Now that she's here, I don't think you'll want to do any private dances, right?" Mako asked, grabbing Korra's vest and casually flipping it inside out, revealing a black silk underneath. He put it on, the fur against his chest still visible as he didn't button it up.
"It's still my job. Unless she pays me for something, I have to go with others. I'm sure she'll understand," Korra said, mentally prepping herself a little for the dance.
As her stage name, Polar Hound, was called, she sauntered onto the stage with power, grabbing the pole in front of her and quickly leaning forwards, holding herself diagonally as she spun around it. Her eyes locked onto many onlookers', and she smirked as they began to throw money. Dollars that weren't tucked into her tie, bra, or boxers went into some understage baskets below, and by the end of the dance, they were silently pulled back so Korra could collect what she earned. The girl tucked the money into an envelope, and walked to a planning board close to the staff room. She was on floor duty, meaning she gave private dances to those to approached her and payed.
As Korra walked onto the floor, dawning no more clothes than she previously had, she immediately spotted the red dress. Asami was talking to some other customers, who Korra assumed to be friends or acquaintances. Some of them had thrown money at her, and one had tucked a five into her boxers. Asami seemed to be having a good time, so that was positive, Korra figured.
A man stumbled up to Korra. He was older, maybe in his fifties or sixties, and had the stench of cigars and alcohol all across his clothes and breath. Korra looked at him, slightly confused before he held out a ten and a five dollar bill. Private dances were fifteen dollars, and Korra immediately knew why she was approached. This man had thrown at least twenty dollars at her when she was on stage, and she assumed nothing until now.
The tan brunette plastered a fake smile to her face and took the man's hand, leading him towards the general area of the private dance rooms. However, this was also near the entrance/exit. The bar and club was a 35 and under bar and club, and this man obviously didn't meet the age requirement. Korra shoved the money at his chest and told him to get lost, which he did after grumbling something with some variation of curses.
As Korra turned around, she saw Asami with her arms crossed over her chest. "Who was that?" She asked, tilting her head as she grabbed Korra's tie and led her back into the club.
"It was just someone who tried to get in without meeting a requirement. We're told to kick them out as fast as possible if we find them suspicious," Korra explained as Asami toyed with her tie. Due to this, the duo had to be very close, and this earned them some jealous side-glances from other customers. Korra coughed softly and gently wrested her tie back. "I can't be like this unless you pay for a dance," Korra whispered, earning a smirk from Asami.
"Is that a rule, or a challenge?" She asked, pulling out her wallet from a black bag she had resting against her hip.
"It's supposed to be a rule, but I think you're taking it as a challenge," Korra laughed softly, grunting softly as Asami put fifteen dollars against her chest with some bit of oomph.
"Deal," Asami said, grabbing Korra's tie and leading her to the back area.
As they passed the security guard, who had moved forwards to get Asami off of Korra, since touching the dancers was against the rules, Korra quickly shook her head, making the large man raise a brow.
"I'm her girlfriend," Asami told the guard, making the man laugh.
"Then do as you must, I think this is the one time I won't stop someone," he said, patting Korra on the shoulder for good luck.
The shorter brunette opened her mouth to say something, but was stopped as the tie was pulled more roughly towards an empty room, dragging Korra with it. Asami sat in a leather chair, leaning back and crossing her legs. "The little traitor," Korra muttered with a frown, looking to where the bouncer would be. She then blushed as she saw Asami, and then smirked. She leaned towards her girlfriend, earning a long kiss.
"C'mon now. I paid, give me my moneys worth," Asami said, leaning back in her chair.
Later that night, around 1 am, it was closing time. Asami had left early to go home and sleep, and Korra spent the next three and a half hours doing her job in general peace. Korra and Mako were closing, and both of them were tired. "I swear, we need a new job," Mako laughed as he locked up the booze cabinets.
"I totally agree. Maybe a bank will hire us," Korra said sarcastically, and then both paused for a second before laughing.
"Well, maybe I could be a bouncer, and you could move to a club and be a bouncer there," Mako suggested. Korra shrugged to this and looked at her phone, checking the time as she yawned.
"Yeah yeah. I'm off tomorrow, so I'll see you Tuesday," Korra said, waving a little and heading towards the door. She had on sneakers, socks, and a black jacket over her vest and tie. The girl walked to her car, got in, and headed home. She yawned a couple times behind the wheel, almost went into the wrong exit on the freeway, and almost stopped to buy dog food. They didn't have a dog. Korra used to own one, but she got old, and she hasn't bought a new one since the large white dog passed away. Eventually, Korra got home, and locked her car as she walked through her garage to step into her house. Asami's red sport car was in the garage, and Korra admired it every time she passed. Asami made more money than her, but they always split the bills and taxes 50/50, per Korra's request to be part of life.
Korra stumbled her way towards Asami and hers shared bedroom on the second floor, but got half way there on the way up the stairs. Korra, being too tired to make it the rest of the way, ended up falling asleep on the steps. She leaned against the solid wall about six steps away from the top of the staircase, closed her eyes, and just slept on her side, uncomfortably stretching across four or five of the wood steps. She leaned her head against her bicep, which was holding loosely onto the step above her.
A small light appeared on the second floor of the house, and a shadow appeared above Korra. The owner of the shadow, Asami, smiled pitifully down at her girlfriend. She knew she had to get Korra a job that didn't require such late hours, since this happened at least twice a week. She loved her girlfriend and truly cared about her, but she didn't think that her current job was mentally or physically helpful, especially since Korra was currently sleeping on a staircase inside her own home. "Alrighty, ya big lug, help me out a little this time," Asami muttered, stepping down to Korra and carefully wrapping Korra's arm over her shoulders, half dragging her up the stairs. Asami carried Korra to their bedroom, laid her on the bed, and took off her shoes and socks. She also took off Korra's jacket, and laid next to the girl. Asami wrapped her arms around Korra's waist, nuzzling her chest and falling asleep next to Korra, forgetting to pull the covers over herself and her girlfriend.
((Hey guys! Just so you know, there will be fluff next chapter. I've been getting a few requests for it, so I'm finally gonna do it! One reader said that I should do something that plays off of Korra's fear of dogs in order to incorpertate the fluff, but I want that fear to play it's own role in the main KorrAsami book, not here. That is, of course, unless I decide to add the fear to one of the one-shots. Anyway! I'm always looking for ideas, so don't be afraid to comment and dm me! I don't bite that hard! Thanks for reading, and I'm out!))
