Stronger Than Most: Part 3

Korra stared down at the cold floor, barefoot, and terrified. Her birthday was the worst day of the year, even though most people rather enjoy theirs. Korra tried to remember a time when she was happy on her birthday. Nope. She couldn't think of any. She looked over to the table with various torture devices. A riding crop, a bat, a few whips, three knives, a machete... A machete!? That was a new one. There were other items, but Korra couldn't really think about that right now. She stayed in her position, but kept looking around the room. There were various blood stains on the walls and floors. She was apparently standing in the biggest dry pool of blood. Her blood. Korra looked back to the weapons, all covered in her blood. Well, except the machete.

Her eyes widened, and her body flinched when the door opened. Her father. He was carrying a small box, and a small table. Korra stayed silent as her father put that table down next to her, a few, maybe five, feet away. Tonraq her his hand out to Korra. "Phone," he commanded. Korra quickly took her phone out, handing it to him. He unlocked it, and went through its contents. "Face call Asami," he said into it, and the phone opened a video chat with Asami. Why?

"Hey Korrrrrrrr........... What's going on? Tonraq?!"

"Hello Asami. Unless you want Korra getting hurt more than... necessary, I suggest you stay on the video chat," Tonraq grinned, backing up to display Korra, who was in a tank top, short jeans, and no shoes. Korra looked down, ashamed that this was happening. "Korra," Tonraq said, and Korra flinched to attention. "No cheats," he said, punching her in the gut. She doubled over, trying to stay standing. "And Asami," Asami's eyes widened at the use of her name. "If you really care for this excuse of a human," Tonraq lifted Korra's head, gripping around her neck,"no speaking. You can shriek though. But no cheating," he squeezed Korra's throat, her face turning red.

"G-got it," Asami stuttered, watching as Korra did nothing to react. She got an idea, secretly reaching for her camera. She fixed it on her phone, recording.

"Good, now let's get started," Tonraq said, letting go of Korra's throat after a rather hard squeeze. She gasped for air. Meanwhile, Tonraq grabbed the chains above Korra's head, securing them. Asami watched in silence as the chains clicked locked, and Korra pulled slightly on them. Tight. Tonraq grabbed a blindfold off of the table and tied it around Korra's eyes. "Can you see?"

"No sir," Korra responded immediately.

"Good. Asami, no cheating," Tonraq warned. "This game is called Guess. Korra, you will guess the weapon I am using on you, without Asami's help. If you get it correct, we move on to the next part. If you get it wrong, you get three hits, whips, slashes, or whatever I used, until you guess correctly," Tonraq explained. Korra nodded as Asami stayed silent. No talking. No cheating. He picked up the machete, slamming it into Korra's stomach. "Well?"

Korra almost doubled over in immense pain, but the chains holding her arms up kept her from doing so. They pulled on her arms, nothing on the inside of the cuffs, just pure metal. "The machete," Korra said. She had gotten good at this game after a while.

"Correct. Next," he put down the machete, a new blood patten on it. Asami glanced at Korra's stomach, which had an almost diagonal cut on it, which was about six inches wide. Blood fell to the floor, and Asami just noticed the blood around the room. What she didn't notice was that Tonraq picked up a new weapon. The bat. He struck Korra in the same spot he hit the machete, blood squirting out of Korra's stomach. Blood also came up her throat, out of her mouth, and finally down her chin.

"Bat," Korra muttered, coughing up more blood.

"Good. Next," Tonraq said.

"Please stop," Asami pleaded, noticing Korra's suffering.

"Sorry. Fifteen more times. We do this until we reach how old she is, or until she passes out. Whichever comes first," Tonraq smiled, glancing at his daughter. He set the bat down, a wide blood splatter all over it. He thought, then picking up a riding crop, he sauntered over to Korra. He raised the weapon, and slammed it down across Korra's face, from her forehead to her chin on the other side. A new cut appeared.

"R-riding crop," at the end of 'crop', Korra started to cough up more blood, her knees going weak and her arms being the only thing holding her up.

"Smart girl," Tonraq said. He put the riding crop down, but set it aside for later. "Asami, what should I use?"

"Nothing!" Asami screamed, wanting this to be over.

Tonraq thought, and then got an idea. "Whatever you say," he told her, walking back to Korra. He lifted his hand, and hit Korra's shoulder with enough force to dislocate it again.

Korra had to think through the pain. "Was it the bat, sir?"

"Wrong! Let's do this!" Korra turned her head away, waiting for her punishment. Her father punched, his fist slamming into the front of her neck. He then sent a hook to her hip, and Korra lost feeling in her whole leg. Finally, he walked around her, sending a hard uppercut to her lower back, lifting Korra off of her feet for a second. All Korra did as she felt the strong punches of her fathers fist was grind her teeth, a small gasp through them. Her eyes started to close under the blindfold. She was going to pass out before the punishment was over.

"Your fist, sir?"

"Nice! Only took you two tries!" Tonraq grabbed a knife, and walked to be behind Korra. He slashed a cut from her left shoulder to her right hip, Korra only wincing.

"The knife, sir," Korra said, ready to pass out. She had already lost too much blood today from the machete and bat.

By the time the first part of Korra'a birthday was over, Asami was crying. Korra was hanging by her wrists, which were bloody now, her feet in front of her from when she fell and couldn't get back up. Korra's eyes were closing when Tonraq, without warning, unhooked Korra's chains. Korra fell to her back, the many new scars creating new blood spots on the ground. Tonraq took Korra's phone, and showed Asami the damage. "A masterpiece, if I do say so myself," he said. He kicked Korra's side, rolling her over and onto her stomach. Korra's arms moved, and she tried to get onto her hands and knees. Tried. The minute Korra lifted herself off the ground, she was stopped by the pains in her body, especially in her shoulder and back.

"Why do you do this?" Asami asked between her sobs. "She's your blood!" she screamed, scaring Korra a little.

"My blood," Tonraq responded coldly,"is able to stand up," he kicked Korra on the back of her thigh, making her fall again.

"Korra!" Asami called, and Korra opened her eyes under the blindfold. Tonraq pulled it off, and let Korra and Asami talk. "Korra, you can beat him. Just stand up," she said. Korra made no movement, but looked down to her bloody wrists. "I command you to stand up!" Korra did as told, standing up. She did not speak. Asami, honestly having enough of Korra's punishment, got pissed. "Attack!" Korra didn't have much of an option, so she threw a punch to Tonraq, quicker than she thought she could punch. "Again!" Korra punched again, adding a kick in this time.

"You b*tch!" Tonraq threw the phone aside, angling it so Asami could see what happened next. He charged at Korra, but she dodged it, moving aside. He got pissed, and grabbed the machete. He ran towards his daughter, who was crammed into a corner. She screamed once the machete entered her bicep, and screamed again when he ripped it out to slam it into her thigh. Tonraq picked Korra up, throwing her into a faraway wall. He walked over to the phone, picking it up. "Good job Asami. You just killed Korra," he said, hanging up. Asami's eyes watered, and she stood up, running to her car. She was going to show the police the tape, and head to Korra's house.

By the time the police arrive, Korra had burns all over her body. Tonraq was watching the fire burn his daughters skin, not realizing that Asami, along with the police, we're coming. He eventually grabbed a bucket of water, and dumped it all over the sinched girl. Korra didn't move. "That's sad," Tonraq said to the motionless body. "I can't give you your cake now," he brought the box he brought in out of the room, and sat down, eventually eating it. Then the police stormed into the house, with guns, big dogs, and Asami leading them.

"Take the father! A few of you, come with me!" Asami yelled, and she ran through the small house, soon finding the door to the torture room. She opened it, finding her friend covered in burns and scars. "Korra!" Korra didn't move as Asami shrieked her name, ran over, and abruptly shook her. "Take the evidence!" She commanded the officers. "Korra, it's me, Asami," Asami felt tears come to her eyes, seeing how the girl was abused.

"Mrs. Sato, we need to leave. An ambulance is on the way," an officer said.

"Plus, this place gives me the creeps," another said.

A distant barking was heard, and the officers all froze. Korra opened her eyes, but shut them soon after. She thought she heard Naga. Then a giant white dog burst through the opening, and ran towards Korra. She opened her eyes to see Naga running to her. She almost moved, but her body didn't allowed. Naga licked her face, and then started to lick Asami. "She likes you," Korra said, smiling slightly.

"Oh my god Korra!" Asami shrieked, hugging her friend.

"You're probably getting blood all over you," Korra told Asami, not able to hug back.

"I don't care," Asami weeped, laughing slightly.

The ambulance came, with the rescuers carrying a stretcher, for Korra. "Ma'am, we need you to back up, please," a man said, looking over Korra's injuries. Asami backed off.

"Can I sit with her in the ambulance?"

"That's up to her, ma'am," a woman said, loading Korra carefully onto the stretcher. Korra winced as her back hit the cushion.

"Korra?"

"Please come," Korra pleaded, tears visible in her eyes. Asami nodded, and rode with her to the hospital.

\(A week later)/

Asami sat in the guest seat in Korra's room, running the girl's knuckles softly. She had just been told that court was unnecessary, thanks to Asami's evidence. She was going to tell Korra the good news. The girl soon woke up, her eyes blinking to life. "Hey sweatie," Asami greeted, smiling. "We need to go to your house and get your stuff," Asami said.

"Okay," Korra said simply.

"And we're not going to court," she said.

"This wonderful," Korra said, a bit of her strength returning.

"Can you come with me to tour your house?"

"Let's go," they walked hand in hand to the small house Korra's father owned. Korra led ask to her room, opening the door. Asami immediately shivered as the cold air hit them, but Korra didn't care.

"You can live with me," Asami said, picking up two of the light boxes. Korra picked up her blanket, and the other box. She followed Asami out of the room.

Once they unloaded Korra's stuff, they kissed. Did I forget to mention? They're girlfriends now.
