You discovered something about actually working. It's hard. You, Kazuma, and Aqua found a construction job and after the first day you nearly passed out before you could check on your chips. Then a cycle began to repeat itself for several weeks. You would wake up in an awkward position with Aqua, go to the job, break stones or lift logs, go to the guild and drink, watch as Aqua would vomit a rainbow, then return to the stable to sleep. All until one day. You woke up to find Aqua had you in a headlock. Your gaze drifted up and you saw the blurry shape of Kazuma mumbling to himself. You pulled your head from Aqua's surprisingly strong grip and stood up yawning into your pawn. You walked over to the barrel and lifted your glasses, cleaning the dust off them that had collected over night. You slipped them on and sighed in relief at your eyesight returning.

(Y/n):Good morning.

Kazuma:Don't good morning me. It's almost noon.

(Y/n):Why are you so cranky?

Kazuma:Werent we suppose to go on a kill quest today?

You heard a soft yawn and turned to the large blanket covered pile of hay. Aqua sat up slowly and stretched letting out a cute yawn. Gah! Why would you think that?!

Aqua:Once I realized we didn't have to go to our construction job, I couldn't help myself.

Kazuma:So wasn't this world suppose to be under attack by the Devil King, and in huge crisis?

(Y/n):Well considering where we are it seems like it would be a huge waste of time to send monster to a town filled with novices like us.

Kazuma:I guess.

Aqua:Now let's go on that kill quest! You can count on me!

(Y/n):You can count on me too!

Kazuma:Something tells me you both said something similar yesterday. But it is true your a goddess and your a arch wizard so I'm counting on both of you. All right, let's put together the most basic equipment we can and head out.

(Y/n) and Aqua:Yeah!

???:How long are you gonna hang around?! You wanna get walloped?!

Kazuma,(Y/n), and Aqua:W-We're sorry!

Small time skip of awesomeness!

You watched as Kazuma ran from a giant frog.

Kazuma:(Y/n), Aqua help me!!!

(Y/n):Foreward into victory!

You charged forward with little to no strategy in mind. Like in the video games when you were alive. You stopped a few from the frog and it turned towards you.

(Y/n):What do I do now?!

Kazuma:Say a spell!!!

(Y/n):Ummmm uh..... Freezing blast!

The crystal hovering above the end of your oak staff illuminated and a light blue blast of power shot from it. It was a shining moment in your life because for a few seconds you felt how it was to be a wizard. That was until the spell bounced off the frogs rubbery skin and hit you in the face freezing your head and part of your head. You fell backwards, punching the ice and head butting the ground to try and get it off. Ice hurts. You were turned and the ice peeled, rather painfully, off your face. You looked up at Kazuma who pulled you into a standing position.

(Y/n):Thank you Kazuma.

Kazuma:No problem. Could you hand me some water out of your bag?

You readjusted the backpack you were carrying slightly.

(Y/n):I'm afraid I can't.

Kazuma:Why not? Didn't you buy supplies at that trader?

(Y/n):I bought this airtight backpack for my chips.

Yep. You spent the last of your construction job pay on a backpack for your chips.

Kazuma:Are you serio-

(Y/n):Yes.

You had never been more blunt then at that exact moment.

You heard a scream and turned to see Aqua being swallowed by the frog. You and Kazuma ran at it weapons equipped. And then the epic battle with the giant frog began.

Timeskip because it is just a frog.

You were sitting crossed legged on the ground catching your breath. You basically beat the frog with your staff as Kazuma pulled Aqua free from the frogs slimy mouth. She sat on the ground across from you crying and covered in slime. She jumped up and hugged Kazuma, covering his pants and lower jacket in the slime.

Aqua:Thank you Kazuma!

Kazuma:Ah (Y/n) helped too!

(Y/n):You traitor!

You were tackled to the ground as Aqua clung to you shouting thank yous. You pried her off and she stood up rambling about running from a frog.

(Y/n):Aqua it should be ok you just need to take a bath..... Or two.

You turned to her and watched her charge at another frog off in the distance.

(Y/n):Aqua wait!

You took off after her. You stopped when you watched her punch the frog. You watched her look only to have the frog chomp her. You had to suppress a giggle before clearing your throat and pointing your staff at the frog.

(Y/n):Pikachu thunderbolt!

A blast of electric energy fired from the crystal, making it blaze a strong yellow color. It hit the frog and bounced off. Your smile dropped as the bolt of energy hit you in the face. It was basically the equivalent of taking a taser to the forehead. Your body stiffened involuntarily as you slowly fell to the side. You saw Kazuma run past you towards the frog to stop it from eating the goddess. You felt a loud slam and then your head and legs where picked up.

Kazuma:We definitely need to teach you to use your magic better.

Aqua:Why don't we take him to the stable until he can use his body parts again?

Kazuma:That would be  for the best. I don't feel like lugging you around all day (Y/n).

You did your best to grunt out HEY!, but they didn't hear you. After a seemingly long walk and Aqua dropping your head a few times your body made it back to the stable. By then you had long been able to move your body, just the slight concussion from being dropped kept you in a hazy state of mind. Kazuma slipped your backpack on and put it under your head. Aqua leaned over and kissed your forehead before leaving. You couldn't question it as you turned on your side and fell asleep.

Timeskip.

You were pulled from your sleep out of nowhere. You sat up and yawned as you hopped to your feet and picked up your backpack. For some reason your couldn't remember a lot of stuff that happened after you got electrocuted. You walked out of the stable securing the bag on your back before walking to the guild and pushing open the door. You looked around and saw a frustrated Aqua and a tired looking Kazuma. You walked over and sat next to Kazuma.

Aqua:(Y/n) your finally up! Now help us find a recruit!

You raised an eyebrow at her and looked at Kazuma who sighed.

Kazuma:We aren't skilled enough for the quest so we were going to hire a recruit, but no one has taken our offer. 

(Y/n):Oh ok. Well while you discuss this I'm going to get some food. 

You stood up and went to find a waitress. You spotted one and went to talk to her when you bumped into someone. You glasses flew off your face and something covered your blurry vision in darkness. You reached up and pushed up what ever it was to reveal a hat. A wizard hat to be precise. You squinted and could see a young girl with shoulder length dark brown hair. She wore what looked like to you was witch attire with a black cloak and fingerless gloves. She was waving her arms around frantically and you saw your glasses had landed perfectly on her face. You reached over and caught her wrist. She turned to you and you saw her crimson red eye magnified by your lenses. 

???:Who are you?! Did you do this to me?! How dare you tempt the all mighty Megumin?!

(Y/n):Hold on a second.

You reached up and took the glasses slowly off her face. Your fingers grazed her cheek and you could see a blush rise to her cheeks. You put your glasses back on and gazed at the girl now that you could see her clearly. What you saw brought an equally bright blush to your cheeks. Megumin, which was apparently her name, had fair skin and the figure of a porcelain doll, but it added to her overall cuteness. Her beautiful red eye held your attention. You had never felt this before. What was this feeling called? L-l-l-liking someone?

Megumin:What kind of curse did you cast on me you warlock?!

(Y/n):I didn't do anything! These are my glasses and I need them to see.

Megumin:Ha you just revealed your weakness to a stranger! I shall use this to defeat you warlock!

(Y/n):Fine you wish to battle?! You will never defeat me one v one!

Aqua:(Y/n)?

You turned to find the blue haired goddess and Kazuma standing there watching you with weird expressions.

(Y/n):This is a battle between wizards. Leave us to our battle of wits!

Megumin:Well said fellow wiz-

You heard a loud rumble and turned to the female wizard. She was falling forward and you shot forward catching her in your arms.

(Y/n):Are you ok?!

Kazuma:Hey, what's wrong?!

Megumin:I haven't eaten anything in three days. Do you have anything I could eat?

(Y/n):I have some chips, but Kazuma do we have enough for a meal?

Kazuma:I don't mind treating her. But may I ask what's with the eyepatch? If your injured why don't we have her heal you? It's her one good quality,

Aqua:My one?!

Megumin moved out of your arms speaking.

Megumin:This is the magic item that suppresses my mighty magical powers. If I were to ever take this off, a great catastrophe would surely befall this world...

Kazuma:So it's like a seal?

Megumi :Well, that was a lie. I just wear it for looks.

In one swift motion Kazuma had grabbed her eyepatch and pulled it as far as it would allow.

Megumin:I'm sorry! Please don't pull on it! Stop... Stop it!

Something clicked in one as you smacked Kazuma's hand away. But this caused the eyepatch to snap back.

Megumin:Ow my eye!

Kazuma:Sorry. I thought you were making fun of us. You where talking gibberish and gave us that weird name.

Megumin straightened and retorted.

Megumin:Calling my name weird is rude. From my point of view, it's everyone else in town who has a weird name.

Kazuma:By the way, what are your parents names?

Megumin jumped up proudly and proclaimed.

Megumin:My mother is Yuiyui and my father is Hyoizaburo!

(Y/n):Your a wizard right?

Megumin:Yes why do you ask?

(Y/n):Could you train me?!

Megumin:Hmmm I will accept, but you must call me oh wise master Megumin and provide meals for me! Knowing that are you prepared to walk the path of explosions?!

(Y/n):Yes! Thank you oh wise master Megumin!

Kazuma:Are you serious (Y/n)?

(Y/n):Hey we need a new member and I need to be trained. This is the perfect situation.

Aqua:Can we see your adventurer card?

Megumins stomach growled once more as she handed the card to Aqua and you all headed back to the table. You sat next to Megumin while Kazuma and Aqua sat opposite.

Aqua:Adventurer cards can't be forged. She's and arch wizard for sure, but I'm sure you knew that from earlier. If she can really use explosion magic, then that's amazing! It's the the most advanced attack magic there is!

Megumin:Hey, don't call me "this girl" and "she." I'd prefer you called me by my name.

Her stomach rumbling again and you let out a chuckle. You reached over and grabbed the menu and handed it to her.

(Y/n):Go ahead and order miss Arch wizard.

She picked a meal and you smiled as you saw her eyes light up at the sight of the dish. Then you watched in amazement as she ripped the meal apart finishing in at least 30 seconds.

Megumin:Ahhhhhhhhh thank you so much.

Kazuma:Alright now that you've eaten you have to help us on our kill quest.

Megumin:Alright I agree. Let's go young pupil.

(Y/n):Yes oh wise master Megumin!

Kazuma and Aqua shared a sigh as your party got up and made its way back to the fired where you encountered the frogs. Now you have added the arch wizard Megumin to your party. This is certainly going to make things interesting.
