Kazuma: Are we finally done with all the special chapters? I even heard the author has another once planned for 100k!

Aqua: Um... who is the author?

Kazuma: Huh? What was I talking about?

Aqua shrugged her shoulders as Kazuma looked at the blacksmith for an answer. He too shrugged his shoulders not having any idea what was going on.

Kazuma: Anyway I thought we all came here together, where is (Y/n) and Megumin?

Aqua: they better not be doing lewd things!

Darkness blushed at Aqua's words before speaking. 

Darkness: I don't think those two would be doing lewd things... I overheard (Y/n) saying things like he needed to go to the tailor and wanted Megumin to follow him around for... some reason... I can't quite remember. But if it is Megumin I believe it has something to do with explosions.

Kazuma pinched his chin in thought. It wasn't exactly strange for you and Megumin to be alone considering she was your teacher in some weird way but then again Aqua might have a point. Kazuma shuddered at the thought of actually thinking Aqua might be useful for one sentence. You and Megumin could be making out somewhere and that infuriated him to no end. Where was his chance with a hot girl Author?! Huh?! The one girl you gave me was (Y/n)!

Aqua: Kazuma are you ok?

Kazuma: Huh? Yeah... I'm just thinking I might have regretted actually letting (Y/n) on the deal with Vanir...

(Y/n)'s Brain: I'm honestly surprised you found a tailor that knew even remotely how to make the stupid design you suggested.

(Y/n): How can it be stupid if it came from you?

(Y/n)'s Brain: Well-

(Y/n): I have used my logic to defeat my logic and thus achieved peace once more.

(Y/n)'s Brain: ... I don't like you in this suit...

(Y/n): Do not hate me for I have finally achieved a peaceful life.

You walked down the street with a soft grin on your face. Life was finally going your way. You brushed off your striped green dress shirt before pulling on your soft purple jacket. You glanced down and could only smile at the clacking of your new dress shoes and matching purple dress pants. A content sigh escaped your lips as you looked back up at the street. What made the day even better was you had managed to find a barber in this town that didn't quite know how to dye hair but knew how to curl and style it, allowing for a nice mature look for you. And to top it all off your tightened the cool looking tie you found. It had a bunch of skulls on it but it made you feel like an intriguing person in such a fantastical world. You took off your glasses and cleaned them with a growing smile. Being in this suit just made you feel so... confident. Confident that you could live a peaceful existence even in this crazy place.

Megumin: Um... (Y/n)?

You were pulled from your thinking by the voice of Megumin. You chuckled softly and turned to her as you walked down the street, taking her hand in yours as you gazed upon her.

(Y/n): Yes?

You cocked your head to the side with a soft gaze, your smile worth a million dollars back in the real world as Megumin panicked internally. 

Megumin in Mind: W-W-Wha?! Why is (Y-Y/n) holding my hand?! And why is he looking at me like that?! 

Megumin's face exploded in a red blush. Something was definitely going on with you. You seemed like a totally different person from the innocent boy she knew. there was something mature and intriguing. Even that innocent shine your eyes always held seemed to replace by a sharp charismatic gleam that was equal parts intriguing and dangerous. 

Megumin: W-Wa... Warloc-

(Y/n): My dear Megumin do you believe in fate?

Megumin: H-Huh...

(Y/n): You see... getting into that multi-million dollar deal with Kazuma was just the beginning. Fate is finally on the side of (Y/n) (L/n)!

You let out a joyful laugh. Megumin seemingly blinked. Was this even you? This dude seemed to... weird... Her next thought was caught as you returned your gaze to her face, your sharp (E/c) eyes meeting her crimson ones.

(Y/n): This new change of fate is exactly why I need you Megumin.

Megumin: Need me?

You stopped briefly on the sidewalk, moving to the side to avoid as many disturbances as possible.

(Y/n): My dear Megumin there is so much this world has to offer and I simply think we should take it for all its worth!

You took Megumin's hands into yours and admired how small they were within your palms. You tilted your head to the side letting a strand of curly blond hair move out of your face as you once more looked Megumin in the eyes. 

(Y/n): Megumin... will you stay by my side?

Megumin: H-HUH?! 

You pressed forward, your face mere inches from the overloading girl's.

(Y/n): Won't you cast your explosion magic with mine for as long as the fates allow?

Megumin had no idea what to do. Was this...  a proposal? Like you know one of those serious ones?! The ones were people stay together for the rest of their lives and have kids?! Is that what you meant?!

Megumin: B-But! What about Darkness a-and Aqua?! I thought the point of this book w-was to laugh at funny references and finally pick a girl in the end!

(Y/n): Are-

You went to speak only to watch as some random guy bumped into Megumin. The sudden force caused her to fall forward into your chest. You wanted to smile at the moment but found your gaze turning furious as you watched the male simply walk off. You carefully moved Megumin away and walked after the male, placing a hand on his shoulder.

Random Guy: Huh?

(Y/n): You bumped into my fated partner.

Megumin: P-Partner?!

Random Guy: Oh uh sorry about tha-

(Y/n): Sorry isn't good enough.

Megumin moved behind you and tugged on your sleeve. Seeing as your whole personality flipped with this new suit, she was pretty sure you might do something the opposite of what you usually do.

(Y/n): My name is (Y/n) (L/n). I am 17 years old. I live in a haunted mansion on the outside of Axel, isolated from the village, and I am trying to not be single. I work as an adventurer solving quests and get home every day by 8 pm at the latest. I don't smoke, and I have no plans to drink until I'm older. I'm in bed by 12 pm and always make sure I get at least some sleep no matter what. After having a few chips, and arguing with my brain before going to bed, I usually have no problems sleeping until morning. Just like a baby, I wake up with no fatigue and stress in the morning. Before I died, I was told there were no issues at my last check-up. I'm trying to explain that I've finally become a person who can finally wish to live a peaceful life. I take care to avoid enemies, avoiding them so that I lose no sleep at night. This is how I deal with society, and I know that is what will bring me happiness. Although, punks like you are making that quite difficult. Thus I'm not going to lose to you or anyone.

Megumin: Why... why did you give that long speech?

You suddenly shot your hand forward and pointed it at the guy.

(Y/n): Meet me outside of Axel immediately. I don't wish to draw attention that would further disrupt my life from the peaceful path like you.

The guy simply blinked and looked at Megumin who simply shrugged. He let out a sigh but followed after you as you quickly made your way out of town.

Once you had reached the outside of Axel, you stood a fair bit away from the male.

(Y/n): I must be rid of all disturbances from my new fate! Prepare to be dealt with.

MEgumin looked between you two and went to tug at your sleeve, wanting all fo this to stop. She was still pondering the strange proposal and despite Aqua and Darkness... she thought she might take it, but fighting some this guy was strange even fo-

Random Guy: Alright I thought you were weird at first but now I know you're just crazy. Like bro what the heck?! I was minding my business and then you and your weird clothes said some weird speech and challenged me. I'm gonna knock you down a few pegs and get back to my appointment with the Succbi!

The guy took a step forward but found himself freezing as your eyes glared at him from behind your glasses. A smile spreading across your face.

(Y/n): But you won't be able to do that.

Random Guy: And why is that?

(Y/n): Because Killer Megumin has already cast her magic.

Random Guy: Huh?

The guy let out a noise of confusion and looked down, finding himself within a magic circle. Looking at you, he found himself watching as Megumin appeared from your shoulder, staff in hand with an angry look upon her face.

(Y/n): Cast him down, Killer Megumin!

Megumin: Explosion!

Megumin cast her explosion magic and the guy let out a yell as the magic came crashing down on him. You chuckled and watched as he pulled himself out of the crater, running away. How he survived? You weren't sure. Maybe it's because this is a friendly program. You turned to Megumin to find her face first in the dirt. A smile once again spread across your face as you turned Megumin over to look at you.

(Y/n): Thank you for standing up for me.

Megumin: Well he said some mean stuff about you. And... I like the normal you... and the weird you.

A warm feeling spread through your chest as you closed your eyes for a bit. 

(Y/n): and I am glad to hear that my dear fated partner.

You made sure not to dirty your new suit as you picked Megumin up, and held her bridal style against your chest.

Away from you and Megumin, Kazuma, Aqua, and Darkness watched silently.

Kazuma: I feel like I've seen these references somewhere...

Aqua: Are... Are Megumin and (Y/n) together? Are they getting hitched?!

Darkness: Guh! This pain... this emotional pain feels so... stimulating~!

Kazuma and Aqua gave Darkness a weird side glance.

Kazuma: I don't think they are getting hitched, there is still a bit of anime and movie to go before any kind of ending can be decided.

Aqua: Then why did he call her his dear fated partner?!

Kazuma: References huh... Either way, we need to get going so we can finish up our quest. Let's go grab those two.

Kazuma walked forward to grab you and Megumin. Aqua followed behind, seething that she barely had any romance time with you compared to the other two, and Darkness was still reeling from the emotional backlash and needed a moment. The question now remained how long would this walking reference remain? How will a more serious and mature (Y/n) affect the story?

Another figure in a cloak watched the group of adventures before speaking.
