Konoka's POV

I was sick when the club did Alice in Wonderland. Haruhi had to step in for me and be Alice. No guests noticed. They believed she was me and that it was Haruhi home sick. And since it took place over a whole school day, no one else noticed me missing from class.

Anyway I'm all better and back at school, it's early July. Which means it's nearly time for summer break. Today we are hosting outside in Heian Era attire. Tamaki is flirting behind the hydrangeas, the twins are playing at matching shells. Kyoya is elucidating the history of the yarimizu channel while taking reservations for a future events. While Mori and Honey pretend to be a giant eating soba noodles with chopsticks.

Haruhi and I are enjoying some peace and quiet. While I thanked her again for stepping in for me. "It was no trouble, it was actually a lot of fun" she tells me. "By the way, I heard a private doctor visited you" she says.

"Yes, it was Kyoya who sent her" I tell her avoiding her eyes.

"He likes you" she says in a teasing tone.

"No he doesn't" I say.

"And you like him" she says in a sing song voice and I blush. "Kyoya Senpai and Konoka sitting in a tree..." she starts to sing. When we're tackled to the ground by Tamaki. A ball flies over head.

"Hikaru, you came this close to snuffing out the lights of Haruhi's and Konoka's lives!" Tamaki snaps.

"So much for our peace" I grumble and Haruhi nods her head in agreement.

"Hey, it's your fault for not catching the ball in the first place" Hikaru states.

"Yeah who knew you'd be so bad at Kemari" Kauro adds.

"What?!" Tamaki shouts as Haruhi and I stand up brushing ourselves off. Taking leaves and twigs out of each other's hairs. Meanwhile Tamaki is arguing with the twins. "You think so, well check this out" he says grabbing the ball. "Star light kick!" he shouts kicking it hard and it flies over the twins heads. They wave goodbye to it and it flies through a window breaking it. We hear a guy shout in pain.

We go investigate. To see the ball had hit the head of the leader of the newspaper club. "Really, we are terribly sorry about that" Tamaki tells him. As Haruhi and I cleaned up the glass. One of the news paper club members is icing the leader's head.

"No big deal, could have happened to anyone" the leader states. "Just a ball flying through the window and hitting me in the head" he says.

"Please accept our apology" Tamaki says bowing slightly.

"Now this works out perfectly" the leader says. "I was just thinking about approaching the host club for a cover story" he states "Would you be interested?" he asks Tamaki.

"I didn't know we had a newspaper club" Haruhi says.

"It's more of a gossip rag then newspaper" Kauro states.

"Yeah, it's filled with stories of love affairs, family dramas, scandals, power struggles and things like that" Hikaru explains.

"It specializes in stirring up trouble" they state. "Everyone knows it's lie and no longer reads it" they add. After the leader tugging on Tamaki's heartstrings. We declined and left, after Kyoya promised to cover any medical expense for the leader's head.

We returned to the club room. The rest of us changed back into our school uniforms. While Tamaki stayed in his sulking over being told no by everyone. "I hate when he ignores us, when we're right in front of him. He's such a child" Kyoya mutters. As I served Mori and Honey some tea to go with Honey's cake.

"I hate to give in, but would it really be that bad to help them out with their newspaper?" Haruhi asks Kyoya.

"Since when do you take his side?" I ask with the twins shocked.

"Since never, just listen ok" she tells us. "I know any moment now, he's going to look over here with those puppy dog eyes he uses when he wants something" she states.

"You're right and we can never refuse him when he does" I state.

"Exactly and he'll win" she states. He does just that. Kyoya agrees with rules of course. Then the rest of us agreed. Kyoya left to go tell the newspaper club, saying they'd start tomorrow. "You coming Konoka?" she asks me.

"I'll meet you at home, there's something I have to do" I tell her. She nods her head and left. Once I was sure everyone had left I go over to the drum set. No one knows this, but I learnt to play the drums as a kid. Only mum knew about it and my ability to sing. I sit at the drums and test them. Before starting to play.

"I see you come, I watch you go; you never seem to leave me, though.
So is this love or hate? We'll see...you're makin' me crazy!
Inside my dreams, you're all I see. Well, all I see is you and me" I sing as I continue to play. "Maybe you're my love" I finish. Someone claps and I drop the sticks.

"So you draw, play guitar and sing" Kyoya says and I blush.

"I gotta go, see you tomorrow" I say grabbing my bag. As I go to leave he grabs my hand. "Kyoya senpai" I say.

"I thought I told you to call me Kyoya from now on. Or did your fever effect your memory?" he asks.

"My memory is fine" I tell him.

"Glad to hear it" he says with a small smile. "Anyway, tomorrow please stay close to me and don't talk to anyone from the newspaper club" he tells me. He grabs his bag and left before I could ask him why. I sigh and went home.

(Time skip)

We're playing a game while the newspaper club watches. I stand by Kyoya as the others try to move closer to Tamaki without him seeing them move. The twins are winning so far. When the newspaper club said they were confused. Tamaki explained how it is a commoners game. Saying how it requires no money, only a few friends to play with.

When the leader of the newspaper club asks what this has to do with the article. Tamaki said he had to learn to be friendly. To clear the clubs negative reputation. To capture the heart of their readers, they have to be more down to Earth. Tamaki made Kyoya go join him and the others.

"Are you ok Haruhi? You used to love this game" I say concerned.

"I'm fine, just tired" she tells me.

"You're the Fujioka's right?" the leader of the newspaper club asks us. "You wouldn't mind if I asked you both a few questions, would you?" he asks. As one his member's takes our photo.

"I'm sorry Akira Senpai, but I was asked not to talk to anyone your club. So I have no comment" I say bowing slightly. "I'm going to go help them pick another game" I tell Haruhi and leave her with them. "Hey guys, why don't we play kick the can?" I suggest.

"An excellent idea Konoka" Tamaki states. "Kyoya, you're it" he says. He kicks the can and goes to hide with Haruhi in the rose maze. While the rest of us go to newspaper club. Where we confront them.

"He maybe a hopeless idiot" I state as I sit by Kyoya on a stuck of newspapers.

"But even so" Kyoya says smiling fondly.

"What will you do?" the twins ask Akira.

"Please leave Tama-chan alone, okay" Honey says.

"I'll get you all, it's not just about him anymore. I'll write an article that will ruin all of you" Akira declares. Kyoya goes over to the medical kit he'd left with the club. While I go stand by Honey and Mori. Kyoya took out a disk that had been recording since yesterday. Akira finally gave up.

"Let me explain it, in terms you'll understand" Kyoya tells him. "You'd do well to remember the Ootori group and Hitachiin family alone. Have enough stock to remove your father from his position as president of Komatsuzawa publishing form. However, we would never do something like that. We are not like you" he explains. "What we strive for, is fundamentally different" he states.

"Lets go find the other two" I tell the group. They agree and we leave the newspaper club alone. We go to the rose maze. We find Haruhi and Tamaki in a gazebo. Needless to say, they were happy that we finally found them. When they asked about the news paper club. We told them they had decided to cancel the article and write respectable ones from now on. Saying they should get by.

"Why don't we all go back to the club room for some cake?" Honey suggests. We all agree. I notice Haruhi talking to Kyoya. While Tamaki chants 'cake'.

"What about I make us some coffee when we get there?" I offer. The twins agree. Kyoya joins the others and I notice Haruhi looks shocked. "What's wrong?" I ask her.

"Tamaki is the chairman's son" she says.

"Yeah so?" I ask her. "I could of told you that, lets go before we get left behind" I tell her. We follow to others back to the club.
