Kruno stood up the next morning, having only slept a good two hours to night before she looked over at her teammates who were still asleep. She gave a sigh before shaking Hidan awake, then moving to Kakuzu. She was quieter than normal, but neither of them were awake enough to really notice. She gave a sigh as she packed up her stuff, and turned to her team who were getting ready, and once they were ready, they left with their transformation Jutsu on.

Kruno was walking ahead of them with the bag with the head in it by her side, now back in her normal form with her Akatsuki cloak covering most of her face, the red marks on her basically invisible since the cloak was so big on her.

"So, dog, what's wrong?" Hidan said, and Kruno looked back at him with her eyes slightly shut, glaring at him for called her dog.

"Stop calling me dog!" She shouted, grabbing onto the bag slightly tighter.

"Damn, slut. The fuck is wrong with you?" He asked, and Kruno sighed slightly, before shrugging.

"I don't know." She replied, giving another shrug.

"Are you PMSing?" Hidan asked, and Kruno's eyes grew wide before she threw the bag on the ground and threw herself at him with her nails ready to kill.

"I'm going to fucking kill you!" She screamed, but she was grabbed by Kakuzu half way through her jump, and placed back on the ground. He gave her a stern look, before pointing to the bag with the head in it.

"Pick up that bag. Next time you mess up a chance for me to get my bounty, I will make sure you never go on another mission again, got it?" He asked, and Kruno hung her head in defeat before nodding, and walking over to the bag. She picked up the bag and they began to walk again, Hidan still throwing insults at her and laughing at her little outburst.

"Hidan. Stop." Kakuzu said, and Hidan looked at him with a raised eyebrow.

"Why the fuck should I stop, old man?!" Hidan exclaimed, and Kakuzu walked over to him and picked up the white haired male by his cloak, dangling him above the ground.

"You're starting to piss me off, Hidan." He said before tossing the man to the ground. Hidan landed with an 'Oof.' before he stood up and began to knock the dirt off of his cloak, muttering things under his breath.

Kruno sighed happily as the place where they would trade in the head for the money came into her view, and she looked back at Kakuzu with the head raised in the air, before tossing it to him.

"There." She said, tossing the head towards him. He nodded slightly and caught it, before they all arrived on the steps of the building, and Kakuzu disappeared into the building. Kruno sighed heavily as she jumped up on the roof, staring off at the sky.

"Kruno." Hidan called up, and the girl glanced down at the white haired man who was sitting on the steps leading up to the front doors. She leaned over the edge, and raised an eyebrow.

"What?" She called back, and Hidan glanced back at her for a second before staring back towards the woods.

"The fuck is wrong? Like seriously? You've been so damn quiet all day, and snapping off at every fucking thing I say! Did I do something to piss you off?" He asked, and Kruno shook her head 'no.' before sighing softly.

"It's not you guys Hidan. I'm sorry, I'm just having a hard time today." She said, and Hidan just nodded before speaking a few minutes later.

"Well... If you need someone to talk too.. you can talk to me." He said, and Kruno's eyes got wide as she didn't hear a cuss word out of his mouth, but she nodded.

"Thank you." Was all Kruno said, before they sat in silence. It was a comfortable silence while they waited for Kakuzu to be done with the bounty collection. Kruno leaned back against the roof with her arms behind her head, staring up at the clouds. It was a fairly sunny day today, but the clouds were very noticeable today. She smiled at the clouds, attempting to find shapes in the clouds.

Footsteps were heard behind Hidan, and both him and Kruno assumed it was Kakuzu.

"Bout time, Kakuzu." Hidan said, but it was not Kakuzu standing behind him, it was Asuma. He threw three shurikens at Hidan, but Hidan used his scythe to deflect them back at Asuma. Kruno glanced over to see Hidan giving a man a slight smirk, and that's when she noticed who it was. Her old sensei.

She began to freak out slightly, but she took slow breaths to calm herself. No, she could not let them see her freak out, she had to be strong and not let them see how bad it hurt to see them. But, what if Shikamaru was here, what would she do?

When she looked back down, Hidan's scythe was buried into the ground he had once sat on, but his arm was up in the air, and he was not moving. Kruno glanced down at his feet, and that was when her worst fears were recognized. She saw the shadow around his feet, and the line that lead up to the part of the roof just beside her. And there, there sat Shikamaru Nara in all his jackass glory.

Two ninja ran at Hidan, with swords in their hands, and Shikamaru smirked down at Hidan who was glancing at them both. "Way too slow." Shikamaru said, and Kruno let out a laugh.

"If only you knew." She muttered.

The two ninja's rammed their swords into Hidan's vital's points, and everyone smirked but Hidan just looked over at them with an annoyed expression.

"That's one of them down." Asuma said, and Hidan just stared at them, wincing slightly.

"Ow that hurts." He replied, blood splattered on his face as he stared at Asuma, his normal bored expression crossing his lips. Kruno gave a slight giggle again, but kept it quiet so that no one would else would know she was there. "Who are you people?" Hidan asked.

Everyone eyes widened around them, even Shikamaru and Kruno rolled her eyes. 'Fucking idiot.' She thought to herself, giving a sigh. She didn't know if she was going to need to step in yet or not.

"What the hell..?" The ninja with the bandages over his nose thought aloud, "We both hit his vital spots!"

"Quit sticking it in like that!" Hidan said, and Kruno had to cover her mouth so that she didn't laugh out as loudly as she wanted to. She had lived with a bunch of guys for too long, what could she say? She was bound to take things in an inappropriate way. "I said knock it off, that hurts." Hidan said.

"What is this?" The other ninja asked, staring at Hidan with wide eyes. "Is he immortal?"

"Isn't that obvious, you fucking fool? Now then, once again, who are you people?" He asked, as his eyes landed on the symbol on Asuma's under shirt, raising his eyebrow. "That symbol, it's from the guardian shinobi something or other. Oh great, looks like I'm going to have to go back into that stinky collection office." He said with a groan, and Asuma spoke up.

"We are ninja's from the hidden leaf. Our orders are to capture or kill you Akatsuki. We already know you usually operate in pairs, my original plan was to take down one of you and capture the other, but I guess that plan is going to have to change." He said, as he pulled out his chakra blades.

"Hidden leaf you say?" Hidan asked, raising his eyebrow slightly before giving a slight chuckle before he glanced Kruno's way. "Dog! Who are these pesky fuckers?" He asked, and everyone glanced her way with wide eyes. They couldn't see her face, but no one had noticed she was there.

Kruno gave a slight smirk as she glanced over at Shikamaru, then down at Asuma. "The one threatening you, His name is Asuma Sarutobi, level Jonin. The pathetic fucker who caught you in the Shadow Jutsu, that would be Shikamaru Nara." She said, but she was cut off by Hidan before she could finish.

"The O-So famous Shikamaru Nara?!" Hidan asked, and Shikamaru's eyes widened even more than they already were as this girl named them off.

"That would be him." Kruno said with a laugh, the same laugh that Shikamaru knew by memory. "The two bastards who stabbed you, are the two who guard the gates of the Hiddenn Leaf." She finished, and Hidan nodded slightly and looked up at Asuma who was staring up at Kruno.

"Who are you, and how do you know us?!" Asuma called out, and Kruno shrugged her shoulders slightly, staring at her old sensei.

"A bitch. And how I know, is none of your business." Kruno spat, and Asuma continued to look at her until Hidan laughed slightly, looking at Asuma.

"I think it's your unlucky day. It seems as you started with the wrong one of us." Hidan said.

"Is she your partner?" Asuma asked, and that is when Kakuzu appeared behind Shikamaru, and broke the thing he was sitting in with his fist. The shadow that Hidan was held with disappeared when Shikamaru leaped away from the top of the building. Kruno stood up off the roof, and began to cheer, throwing her arm up in the air.

"Fuck yeah Kakuzu!" She shouted, and Kakuzu just looked at her with an amused smile, before chasing after Shikamaru. He was about to attack Shikamaru but Asuma appeared in front of him with his chakra blades ready to attack.

"Izumo! Kotetsu! Retreat!" Asuma screamed, and the two of them jumped away from Hidan and into a formation with Shikamaru and Asuma. Kakuzu stared at the marking on Asuma's under shirt, and looked over at Hidan.

"That marking, it seems like you've struck gold this time, Hidan." He said, and Hidan nodded his head slightly with a smirk as he pulled the scythe from the stone and back to him.

"Kakuzu, just stay out of this alright, I wanna use these three for my ritual. Especially the one in the middle, as a promise I made for her." He said, and Kakuzu's eyes widened slightly as he looked at Shikamaru, before a look of hate covered his facial structure.

"Is the one in the middle the one who hurt her?" Kakuzu spat, and Hidan shook his head.

"Shikamaru Nara." Hidan said, and Kakuzu nodded slightly.

"Very well, just don't get carried away or you're dead." Kakuzu said, looking up at Kruno. "Dog, come here." He said, and Kruno leaped from the roof and beside Kakuzu. She looked up at him, and the top of the red marks on her cheeks showed slightly, but only Asuma saw them. His eyes widened, and he just stared at Kruno.

"Yes, Kakuzu?" She said, and his green eyes stared down at her.

"I want you to stay out of this fight." He said, bored.

"What, Why?! I want to kill someone!" She said loudly, pouting at him slightly.

That statement caused Asuma's eyes to widen slightly. Kruno wasn't a girl to kill people, she hated it actually. She would never do anything that involved kill on a mission, unless it was for food. Who was this girl standing in front of him?

"Because, you know at least two of them on a personal level, and I am not having you involved in something that you are going to go crazy in."

"Knows two of us?!" Shikamaru called out from the back. "Who the hell are you?!"

Kruno threw him the bird, never taking her eyes off of Kakuzu's. "Please don't make me sit this one out. Please let me do what I want to do, for once." She said, and he sighed heavily.

"Fine, dog. But if you get hurt, you can tell Pein that you disobeyed orders." Kakuzu said, and Kruno nodded her head with a smirk. She looked over at Hidan who had the symbol for his ritual drawn on the ground.

"Hidan! You said Kakuzu couldn't help you, but I'm gonna help!" She called out. "And you can't stop me, so don't fucking try." Now this one didn't shock Asuma as much, because Kruno had always been one with a fowl mouth.

"Fine, just don't get in my way, dog." He said, and she looked at him with an anime vein on her forehead.

"Call me dog one more time, and you will be dickless." She spat, and Hidan just chuckled slightly.

Asuma was going over a plan with Shikamaru and the other two while Hidan and Kruno were arguing, but the Akatsuki members turned back into the conversation when Asuma said "Don't you guys understand?! These guys are stronger than me, and for the girl I do not know how good she is, but being with them she could be better than me!" He said, and he continued to go on about the plan but Hidan and Kruno began to chat again.

"Dog, can I kill the bastard?" He asked, and Kruno shrugged slightly.

"Don't know yet, maybe I want to." she said, and Hidan glared at her slightly.

"Do you think that they are going to just let us get up and walk away?" Asuma said at one of the two ninja Kruno wasn't familiar with.

"Nope!" Kruno sung out, giggling slightly. Shikamaru's heart sped up very slightly at the laugh that had intoxicated it so many years ago, and that's when his eyes widen slightly. No, it couldn't be her. She was dead. She died. She couldn't be here with the two people. Nope, couldn't be happening.

.... Could it?

Shikamaru gave a sigh and Asuma looked back at him, nodding his head slightly. He knew that Shikamaru was thinking about something that would stress him out, but in Shikamaru's mind he was thinking up a strategy.

Kruno looked at Hidan, and smirked slightly. "This is just a warning. Shikamaru is really good at strategies." She said, and Shikamaru's eyes widened slightly.

'How does this girl know so much about us, dammit?!' He thought to himself, but was surprised when he saw a shuriken fly past him and right towards Kruno. She rolled her eyes as she held up her hands, and caught it between her fingers.

"Really? A shuriken? Are you trying to kill me or make me laugh?" Kruno said before giving an evil laugh. "You're gonna have to try better than that. Even when I was in the leaf, I was trained by one of the best." She smirked, looking at Asuma. "And with these boys, I'm practically unstoppable." She said, as she ripped off her cloak, throwing it behind her. She was staring at them with an evil grin as they all gasped, and Shikamaru's eyes teared up slightly.

Kruno pulled her sword out of its holder and slung it over her back, taking the same stance that Kisame always took, and she looked at them with the same look she had every time she fought. It was a look that Shikamaru and Asuma had never seen her eyes, which didn't even seem like her eyes. They seemed dead and not nearly as bright they used to be, but it was mixed with something else.

Bloodlust and Sorrow. Bloodlust and regret.

Shikamaru stared at his ex lover, a small tear falling down his cheek onto the ground, and he whispered quietly. "Kruno..?"

"I'm not here to make amends. Are you guys just going to stand there, or are we going to fight?" Kruno spat, staring straight into Shikamaru's eyes.
