Dreams Of Death
In Konoha, the night had already fallen and Shikamaru was laying on his bed, staring up at the ceiling, pulling the pictures of him and Kruno out of his pocket. He stared at it, and a small smile formed over his lips. She looked so happy, and so did he. They looked in love, and anyone around them knew that they were just by the way they glanced at each other.
He sighed softly as he placed the picture of the nightstand beside him, and he pulled the blanket up over him slowly. Eventually he fell into a deep sleep, but the sleep was not a peaceful one, it was full of the memories of Kruno's funeral.
(play song.).
It was nine in the morning when Shikamaru was woken by his mother, looking down at him sadly. Shikamaru didn't say anything, he just nodded his head and sat up, before going to take a shower. After his shower, the boy walked back into his room and got dressed. He first slid on a pair of fistnet pants, then a fishnet shirt. He glanced at his closet, and saw the outfit he was to wear today hanging up neatly in the messy closet. He took a deep breath, and grabbed it, staring at the fabric slightly before he put it on. He stared at himself in the mirror, and sighed. This outfit, had some of his best memories in it, but now, it held only the worst.
He adjusted his hair on top of his head, before turning and walking out of his room. He met up with his mother and his father who were both dressed in black, looking at their son with pity in their eyes. He hated that. He hated being looked upon with pity because he lost his girlfriend. But frankly, who wouldn't look upon a young boy who was heartbroken with pity?
Shikamaru slid on his ninja shoes before his family and himself departed from his house. They walked in complete silence, for the entire village had a eerie silence to it. Kids did not run up and down the streets, and people were not crowding around the stores and talking far too loud. No, the village was eerily dead.
Shikamaru looked up at the storm clouds over head, and nodded his head slightly. He knew it was going to rain today, as if they sky's were crying for the lost of Kruno. Perhaps they were, for the world lost a beautiful soul. He gave a sigh, and looked over at the flower shop that Ino worked in, and he walked inside. Ino was dressed in a plain black dress, and her blond hair was pulled up in a tight pony tail. She looked at Shikamaru with sad eyes, before handing him the bouquet of flowers that he had ordered previously in the week. He thanked her and walked outside to join his family once again.
They arrived at the cemetery, where everyone in the village was slowly gathering. Everyone was dressed in a outfit, and no one really talked the entire time. Shikamaru took a seat near the back of the area, and stared at the stone at the front of all of this, the stone that held all the information about his loved one.
Sasuke wasn't here anymore, he had already left the village to become a rogue, so the funeral was missing one vital point to Kruno's life, her best friend. Naruto wasn't here either, for he was training with the Pervy Sage, but everyone knew that he would be here, crying and screaming about how it wasn't fair, because Kruno had been one of his first friends. Sakura was dressed in a plain black dress, staring at the stone of someone who protected her, someone who cared about her, but that she let slip from her fingers because all she cares about was being popular, and boys.
Kakashi was standing towards the back, with the other Sensei's. All of which were dressed in black, and patting Asuma's back, because he was crying as well. Asuma never payed the attention that he should have to Kruno, he never trained with her like he should, he never asked her how she was feeling like he should, he wasn't there for her. He regrets that.
Choji was not eating, he was sitting quietly beside of Shikamaru, with Ino on his other side. They were all sitting in silence, because everyone knew that Shikamaru did not want to talk. In a row in front of them, Hinata and Shino were sat together, both of them looking down at the ground with sadness in their eyes. She was too young to have died.
Neji was there too, along with his teammates. Lee had a hand placed gently on Neji's shoulder, because they all knew that Neji cared for Kruno. A smiling little girl who made Neji smile from time to time. A girl who could make anyone smile, just by smiling herself.
Tsume and Kiba were one of the last two to arrive. Tsume was already sobbing, and Kiba was holding his mothers hand carefully. Beside them were both Watamote and Akamaru, both very large and very grown now, but Watamote did not hold herself high like Akamaru, no, she had her head hung down low, and she was whimpering the closer they got to the sight of the grave.
Once the two were seated, the service began. The Hokage stood in front of everyone, looking over their sad and crying faces. Now this Hokage had never gotten a chance to meet the girl that had stolen so many people's hearts, but she was going to do her best to send her away with respect.
"Today, we gather here on something that we wish we did not. We gather here today, for the funeral of Kruno Inuzuka. We gather here today for the funeral of a child, who was much too young to go. Today, we gather here, to remember the little girl who stole everyone's heart as I am told. A few people have asked me to speak on her behalf, so that is what will happen next. Sakura Haruno."
The pink haired girl stood up, and walked up to the front of everyone. Tears were already streaming down her face, but she bit down on her lip roughly as she look around at all the faces in front of her, until her eyes met Shikamaru's, and that is when she began to talk.
"Kruno Inuzuka was girl who could steal your heart in an instant. She was a girl who taught me in embrace the things that made me different... Kruno was a girl, who made everyone around-d her happy..." She trailed off, getting choked up on tears. "Kruno-o was a girl who loved everyone, even when she seemed mad at them.. She was a person that a-anyone would have been lucky to meet.. And I am so sorry that I wasn't there to protect her.." Sakura said before she walked away from the stands, and next to walk up was her twin brother, Kiba.
"My sister was someone that you would have been damn lucky to meet. My sister was beautiful, she was smart, she was funny, she was likable, she was someone whose eyes could light up a room like no one else's. My sister, she was the girl who disappeared for six years, and when she came back, she only cares how everyone else was. My sister, she was a fighter. She was a lover. She... She was my best friend. And I swore that a I would never let her get hurt, or slip through my fingers again, and I am forever sorry. When I see you again, you better be ready for me to kick your ass for leaving me again.." Kiba trailed off, and then other people continued to go up and say things about Kruno. But Shikamaru didn't. He sat there and watched everyone else say words about his girlfriend, but he couldn't find the perfect words, so he let everyone else say it for them.
When it was time for Tsume to speak, she broke down and ran to the stone, wrapping her arms around it tightly. She began to sob hysterically, holding onto the stone, and screaming at the sky that she wanted her baby back. Nobody moved, nobody said a word. Because not many people here had experienced losing a child before they were the age of 13. A few moments later, Kiba pulled his mother from the grave stone and held her close to him, both of them sobbing into each other. And that, that is when the sky began to cry. The tears of the clouds fell all around everybody, soaking the hundreds of people who attended this funeral.
Slowly, little by little people began to leave. Eventually, everybody was gone except for Asuma and Shikamaru. Shikamaru stood up, and walked to the headstone, and stared at it. He stared at it and stared at it, his eyes welling up with tears as his sensei sat down beside him, and wrapped an arm around the boys shoulders. That is when Shikamaru fell against Asuma, and let all of his tears fall. He cried, and cried, and sobbed. He was crying so hard, that he could barely breath.
Asuma held his student tightly in his arms, a few tears falling down his face as well. He gently rubbed the boys shoulder, and they stared at the stones.
That is when Shikamaru woke up in a cold sweat, sitting up quickly as he looked outside. That was a dream that he had more often than he liked. His lovers funeral was not something he particularly found of remembering. He sighed heavily as he got out his bed, getting ready for the day.

"Give it back!"
"No fuck you!"
"Kruno, Give it back!" Itachi screamed, chasing Kruno around the living, as she held up the book that Itachi had been reading, running around the living room.
"Go fuck yourself!" She shouted, before she ran down the hallway, and into her new bedroom. She slammed the door and locked the door behind her. Kruno smiled happily at the book as she plopped herself down on the bed, crossing her legs and beginning to read the book, ignoring the banging on the door from the angry Uchiha.
Itachi sighed heavily as he walked away from the door, and down to Kisame's room. He knocked on the door slowly, and Kisame opened it and looked at Itachi with a raised eyebrow.
"What, Itachi? Do we have a mission?" He asked, and Itachi shook his head, staring at the shark.
"Your kid stole my book, go get it back." He said, pointing to the room, and the shark sighed loudly and walked to the bedroom that Kruno was in. He knocked on the door lightly, and leaned against the door slightly.
"Kruno, it's Kisame. Open up." he said, and Kruno got up off the bed and trotted over to the door, opening the door just enough that he could see her eyes.
"Yes, Sushi?" She asked, and Kisame extended his hand to the door. Kruno grumbled slightly and handed him the book, kicking at the ground. "I cannot believe he went to you to get that damn book back." she mumbled, and Kisame chuckled loudly before he grabbed the book, and handed it back to Itachi.
Kisame turned towards Kruno and smiled. "You want to go to town, pipsqueak?" He asked, and her eyes lit up and she nodded quickly, slipping her shoes on, running out of the room with the blue mans fingers laced in hers, pulling him towards the door. Kisame just sighed softly.
This was going to be a long trip.
