In Suna, Kakashi was sitting on the bed with a map, Pakkun showing him where the base was. Naruto was asleep on the bed beside them. That is until he rolled off the edge of the bed, and onto the floor.

"Oh, You're awake, Naruto." Kakashi said.

"Pakkun?" Naruto asked as he looked at the dog, who just stared back at him.

"I'm counting on you, Pakkun." Kakashi said, and the dog nodded his head.

"Yes you later, Naruto." Pakkun said before he leaped out of the room.

"Kakashi-Sensei, did they find the Akastuki hide out?" Naruto asked as he turned to his sensei.

"Yes, we need to head out immediately."

"Hn." Naruto said with a nod of his head as he quickly got changed, and made his way to where he would meet his sensei and Sakura. When he got there, Kakashi began to explain what would happen immediately.

"As soon as the sand finishes their preparartions, we'll be leaving with them to retrieve Gaara. Got it?"

"And look for Kruno!" Naruto added, Kakashi only sighed as he turned to where Temari and a group of sand village shinobis were standing.

"Sorry to have kept you waiting." She said, and Naruto began to stretch slightly. First leaning back with his hands, the crouching forward.

"All right! Let's do this!"

"Wait!" A man said as he dropped down, and looked over at Temari. "Temari, you and your team will remain here on border patrol duty."

"Are you kidding me?!" The sand Kunoichi said.

"It is an order from our superiors. If the word of Kazekage-sama's absence gets out, one of the other villages will try to attack us."

"No way..." A girl with similar markings to Kruno's but purple said.

"But that's why we need to rescue Gaara as soon as possible right?! These guys came all the way from Konoha to help us! Gaara is supposed to be our Kazekage. They have to send someone from the Sand!"

"I'll go!" A voice said, and everyone looked up to Granny Chiyo, who was standing on top of a building, looking down at everyone with a look of determination on her face. "If you need a Sand shinobi, I will be more than enough." And when the people from her village began to protest, she looked at them with a smirk. "I'm retired, I can do whatever I want! Don't treat me like an old lady!" She shouted, and she leaped from the top of the building and began to descend down to the rest of the shinobi below her. She landed perfectly on her feet in between of the Sand village Shinobi, and team Kakashi. "I've been longing to see my cute little grandson for a while now."

They made their way through the village, and just outside the walls of it. Team Kakashi, along with Lady Chiyo was staring back at the Sand village shinobis. "It's time for us to leave." Kakashi informed them, and they sighed softly.

"I am sorry, I will try to change the higher up minds."

"We'll catch up with you later!" Temari said.

"By the time you get there, we'll have already saved Gaara, and found Kruno!" Naruto said confidently. That is when they said their goodbyes, and took off running deep into Suna.

Kruno had been woken fairly early in the morning, and she sighed up at Kisame who was smiling down at her.

"Rise and shine, sunshine!" He said cheerily, and Kruno looked up at him with angry eyes, before she sent her fist into the sharks stomach. He merely chuckled, and placed his hand on her forehead to hold her back from hitting him anymore. One of the reasons that Kisame loved that she was so short, is because he could do this to her and she couldn't do anything about it except stop struggling, or she would go flying forward onto the ground. And she knew that from cold hard experience.

"You need to take watch again, pipsqueak." Kisame said, using Pein's nickname for her. She sighed and crossed her arms over her chest before nodding, and sitting back down on the edge of the stone to watch. Kisame ruffled her head slightly, and smiled a toothy grin down at her. "Love you." He said, and Kruno shook her hands at him slightly before she muttered an I love you too back to him. After that was said, he disappeared into a cloud of smoke.

Kruno sighed heavily, knowing that he was going to battle someone. Obviously someone who was looking for Gaara. It wasn't fair. All Kruno wanted was a chance to show everyone how skilled she had become, but she knew that that would not be an option today.

"Stupid Pein and his stupid rules about watching the stupid base while they take the stupid beast out of my friend." She said, kicking a pebble in front of her with her black ninja shoe, giving a small sigh. She hadn't gotten a chance to see Kisame in action since the last time that they went on a mission together. It was a pain in the ass.

Kruno began to play with her hands, sighing softly. She was so bored. There was literally nothing to do... She began to sniff around slightly, until she picked up on a very familiar scent that she could not put her finger on. It was so familiar that it felt like she had smelt it every day for years, so she decided to do what any reasonable teenager would do, she was going to investigate. There was no way that Pein would know right? And maybe she could stop someone from getting to the base and stopping what was going on. Kruno placed her Akastuki hat on her head, and wrapped her cloak around her.

She leaped through the trees, making sure to keep her chakra masked so that no one would detect her. She followed the scent, sniffing through the air slightly until she came right upon the scent. She propped herself up in a tree, and moved her hat back slightly and gasped at what she saw.

It was her old friend, Naruto. And Sakura. They were all grown up. It was quite shocking to see how tall both of them had gotten, considering she was still a pesky 5'1... She sighed softly as she glanced over and saw one of her teammates, Itachi standing there. 'Shit!' She thought to herself, placing her hands on her heads. 'If he sees me, I am going to be in so much shit... Maybe if I just turn around and slowly sneak off he won-'

Her thoughts were cut off as Itachi spoke, not even looking in the direction of the tree she was in. "What are you doing here?" He asked, emotionless. Team Kakashi and Granny Chiyo all looked confused, but Kruno just gulped slightly. She didn't say anything back, maybe he wasn't talking to her... 'Yeah! That had to be it.' "And yes, I am talking to you." Itachi spoke again, as if reading her thoughts.

'Goddammit...' she thought and she dropped down from the trees, before performing a transformation jutsu to make herself look different than she normally did, but still in the casual Akastuki uniform. She walked into the clearing, and glanced at the side of his face, before shrugging her shoulders.

"I sensed their chakra, and came to investigate. I didn't know you had already been sent." She said emotionless, staring at Itachi.

"Well go back. We will discuss this later." He said, and she nodded her head.

"Hai!" She shouted before disappearing in an instant. Naruto and the rest of them tilted their heads slightly, none of them had ever heard of another girl member of the Akastuki other than Konan, and that was not her. They shrugged their shoulders and went back to the fight at hand.

Kruno leaped from tree to tree, sighing heavily. She was going to get an ear full when she met up Itachi again, and she knew that. She would probably get an ear full when she got back home, since Itachi could still communicate with everyone inside of the base. She sighed against as she landed back on top of the cave, letting the transformation jutsu drop, and pulling her knees up against her chest.

If Naruto was here, that meant Konoha ninja were here to get Gaara back. What if he showed up? She knew that she wouldn't be able to hurt him, but she did know that any of her teammates would not have a signal moment of thought before they ripped into the boy that she loved. Especially Kisame, she knew that he would rip him to pieces and the laugh about it, before ripping the pieces to smaller pieces. Then Zetzu would probably eat him. Oh what a terrible way to die that would be.

"Kruno." Kisame said, pulling her from her thoughts. She turned around slightly and was met with the stern eyes of the shark. She sighed heavily, and looked back at the water underneath her. Kisame sat down beside her, and wrapped an arm around her shoulder, pulling her in closer to him.

"Why did you leave?" He asked, and she shrugged slightly.

"I thought I could help."

"You know better than to leave without someone with you, Kruno." Kisame said, and the girl sighed slightly.

"I know." She replied, closing her eyes slightly. "I just want to be helpful."

"I know, and you will be, soon. But I have to get back, Pein is going to be pissed if I'm not back soon." He said, and the girl nodded as the blue man disappeared into thin air.

"Bye..." She whispered, as she placed her hands back on the rock light surface, staring up at the clouds. 'I wish I could be a cloud. Just floating along. No pain, just traveling where ever the wind took me.' she thought, before face palming. 'Dammit, I sound more like him ever fucking day.'

The girl sat up there for the rest of the night, and through the morning doing nothing. And frankly, she wasn't in the least tired. She was using her chakra to keep herself away, because that was the only thing she knew how to do when she had to keep watch for long periods of time. She let out a yawn of boredom as she began to look around for any trace of anyone who could possible be a threat to what they were doing. And that is when she noticed four very familiar leaf village ninja.

Ten-Ten, Lee, Neji, and Gai were all standing in front of the giant bolder that blocked them from getting into the base. Pakkun was placed on Lee's shoulder, and Gai looked over at him.

"That it?" Gai asked.

Pakkun pointed his paw at the rock, and said "Gaara is behind that stone." He then began to sniff around slightly, and sighed.

"What is it, Pakkun?" Lee asked, and Pakkun looked at the spunky boy with another sigh.

"That girl we lost three years ago, I keep picking up her scent, and it always seems so fresh."

"Kruno is dead." Neji said bluntly, but Ten-Ten looked over at him and gave a gentle sigh.

"They never found a body, Neji." The girl said, and Neji glared at her slightly before everyone dropped the subject. Gai walked up the stone, and began to examine it.

"Looks like they have a barrier set up."

"What should we do?"

"Let's break in!"

"No." Gai said, before turning around and smirking slightly. "You're late Kakashi."

This caused Kruno to gulp sightly. She was in some deep shit with seven Konoha ninja standing just below her, and she couldn't get into the base to tell everyone that they were here because that would cause too much of a scene. She gave a slight groan, and placed her head in her hands as she continued to listen to what they were saying.

"We'll we ran into some trouble on the way here." The copy cat ninja said, and Kruno smirked.

"Now then, shall we do this, Kakashi?" Gai asked, glancing back at the door, who replied with a 'yeah'

'This,' Kruno thought to herself, 'this is going to be fun.'

Sorry if this chapter was kind of boring, I didn't want to get right to the fighting so I added a filler in here, (sorry!)
