The Battle on the Bridge! Zabuza Returns!

I smelt it. The flower smelling chakra that belongs to the Tracker Ninja. So I ran out in search of Naruto.

Third Persons POV

"Good morning everyone." Sakura walked in the dining room with a yawn. In there was Kakashi, Sasuke, Tazuna, Tsunami, and Inari. "Naruto's not here? And neither is his sister." Tazuna said.

"They're both completely crazy. He's climbing trees in the dark and she hides in the bushes to watch over him. They could be dead by now." Sakura replied.

Tsunami came over with some tea. "Well I hope their okay. Two children spending the night in the woods alone." She said disapprovingly. "There's nothing to worry about. Naruto's a goofy kid, but he's also a full-fledged ninja. He can handle himself. And Miyuna is out there with him and she can take care of anything he can't."

"Sakura's right. Naruto's a loser, he's probably out there dead somewhere. And Miyuna's probably trying to revive him." Sasuke inputted.

Then he stood up and left to go find them although he claimed to go for a walk.

Miyuna's POV

"Naruto!" I yelled as I spotted him and a boy who looked like a girl. He looked up and grinned. "Hey Miyu!" I jumped next to him.

He grinned at me and I sighed in relief. I looked at the boy. "Who's this?" I asked. His chakra smells like that of the Tracker Ninjas. I know it's him. But I know that he's not going to hurt us right now. "I'm Haku."

I smiled politely and nodded. "I'm Miyuna, his sister."

"Oh I see. Is he the reason you became a ninja? To protect him." I studied the boy before smiling. "Yes. He's very precious to me. So I want to protect him."

"Hey! I'm the one that's supposed to say things like that!" I laughed at him. Haku smiled and stood and started to leave. "Goodbye. Oh, and by the way; I'm a boy."

Naruto's eyes bulged out of his head in pure shock. I laughed at his reaction and we watched the boy disappear.

I was generally curious about him. He's the enemy, yet I don't feel the need to fight around him. He's different than any enemy I've ever encountered.

Sasuke showed up soon. I smiled and waved at him. "Hey Sasuke." He hit Naruto on the head. "Hey twerp. Did you just forget about breakfast? And you, Miyu. You shouldn't skip a meal."

I blinked. "Oh yeah. I forgot. Sorry, I was too worried about Naruto and forgot about it." He sighed and helped me up.

I watched as both of them started climbing trees. And Naruto made it up. I smiled at his accomplishment.

We heard Kakashi and Sakura so Naruto threw his kunai down to get their attention. He was so proud. He slipped and a small scream escaped me.

I jumped up, but he caught himself upside down and laughed. "Naruto you idiot! You scared me half to death you moron!" I shouted up at him.

Suddenly his feet detached from the branch. "AH! NARUTO!" I ran under the tree and held my arms out to catch him. However Sasuke ran up and caught him by his ankle. I let out a sigh of relief and slumped to the ground. I think I aged twenty years.

Why does he do this to me? Sakura cheered for Sasuke. How can she be so happy? I swear, they're going to be the death of me.

After that, they climbed until night fall and reached the very top of the trees. I smiled up at them and waved. "Come on you guys! Let's head back!" I shouted up at them. Naruto grinned and Sasuke had his smirk like smile before they were jumping down.

Although . . . I groaned as I had Naruto on my back and Sasuke's arm slung around my shoulder. I sighed and shook my head. "You two shouldn't be so reckless. You overdid it. You can barely stand, let alone walk."

Naruto was passed out and Sasuke was on the verge of collapsing. So I channeled some chakra into my hands, arms, and shoulders.

I readjusted Naruto so he was slung over one shoulder, and I slung Sasuke on the other. "Put me down. You don't need to carry me." Sasuke argued. He was too weak to do anything about it though. "Relax Uchiha, it'll be fine. Just rest up."

I then started jumping atop the tree to get to the house sooner. "You shouldn't carry so much. You're going to get hurt." I blinked. Was he. . ? "Are you worried about me?" I asked. Since I couldn't see Sasuke's face, I wasn't sure what he'd say.

I smiled. "That's sweet of you, but I'm not having much trouble after all, I've been protecting Naruto most of his life."

There was some silence. "Why? All you've been doing is living for him. As his guard or something. Why not live for yourself? Why live to protect Naruto?"

My bangs covered my eyes. "Because . . . out of everybody, Naruto was always there." I could feel Sasuke's curiosity spike. "Naruto was always there for me. When everyone looked away from me, he was always there. He understands my feelings. He understands me. That's why. He's all I have."

After I spoke we stayed silent till we reached the house. I slid the door open with my foot and entered. Everyone else was already dining.

"Sasuke!" Sakura spoke worriedly. I smiled and bent down and let him off before readjusting Naruto piggy back style on me. "I'm fine." Sasuke grumbled as he swatted Sakura's hand away. "I'm going to put Naruto to bed. He's going to need to replenish his chakra." I smiled and walked to Naruto's room.

Well until Naruto woke up and demanded food.

So here we are, eating food. "But why?"

We all looked at Inari who slammed his hands on the table. "All this stupid training is just a waste of time! Gato's got a whole army! They'll beat you down and destroy you! These cool things you all say they don't mean anything. No matter what you do, the strong always win and the weak always lose."

I grit my teeth. This kid. He pisses me off. So much.

"Just speak for yourself. It won't be like that for me you got that?" Naruto responded.

"Why don't you be quiet?! Just looking at you makes me sick! You don't know anything about this country, you're just butting in! Always laughing and playing around! You don't know what it's like to suffer and be treated like dirt!"

I clenched my hands and let my bangs cover my eyes. He really pisses me off! I shook with rage at the boys words.

"Listen to yourself whining and complaining like some sorry little victim! You can whimper all day for all I care. You're nothing but a coward!" Naruto shouted back, making the boy freeze back.

Sakura glared harshly at my brother. "Naruto, you went too far!" He just got up and left. "Man what's he thinking picking on poor Inari?" Sakura sneered.

"Shut up Sakura!" I yelled. She jumped in shock and stared into my furious blue eyes with shock. "He's right you know! The kid needs to man up and get over it! You, you're so stupid Sakura. You shouldn't scold Naruto for being right! You're just like the rest of them! Always blaming Naruto or being mean to him because he's breathing, because he's right! Well guess what Sakura, that kid is a coward and you're a selfish, cruel, little girl! I should have known better than to trust someone like you!"

I stalked out of the room and went to mine. They don't understand.

Third Person POV

Miyuna and Naruto didn't come down afterwards so everyone went about eating. "That girl sure is weird." Tazuna mumbled while eating.

"How so?" Sakura asked. Tazuna ate some rice before speaking. "She's violent, rude, and doesn't seem to listen to anyone but her idiotic brother who's harsh on my grandson."

Sakura and Sasuke were also curious about this. Since Naruto was being mean to little Inari, and Miyu seemed to have no sympathy for him when Naruto yelled at him. Kakashi sighed and set down his bowl of rice.

He knew more about them then the others. "Naruto and Miyuna can be a little harsh sometimes. But they don't hate you. We know about what happened to your father. You probably don't know this, but Naruto and Miyu also grew up without a father."

Everyone listened to Kakashi's words. Naruto was easy to figure out, but Miyu was different. And even they couldn't understand things about Naruto.

They were curious. "In fact, they didn't know either of their parents. And they didn't have a single friend in our village. All they had was each other."

Sasuke's eyes widened as he realized it. Miyu's words. "Because . . . out of everybody, Naruto was always there." He clenched his fists.

So that's why. "Still, I've never seen either of them cry, sulk, or give up. Naruto's always eager to jump in. He wants to be respected. That's his dream. And he'll put his life on the line for that. Miyu, she's a bit more confusing than him. She's always there to help those in need, especially when it involves Naruto. In her eyes, the only person who seems to have cared about her existence is Naruto."

"She doesn't even truly think we care about her. She's seen people mercilessly beat up Naruto or hurt him with words. To her, she feels like they're trying to take out her light. Naruto is her light. He's everything to her. If he were to be gone, then she would be all alone. I think that's what scares her the most."

Sakura and Sasuke looked down ashamed. "When that happened, she protected her lifeline. Her light. She became stronger and more advanced in fighting as she grew. All she wants is for Naruto's dream to come true. Because as long as he's smiling, she feels safe."

"As for Naruto . . . my guess is he got tired of crying. He wants to do something about it. The people in our village don't like him, and he doesn't know why. And whenever they hurt Naruto, Miyuna always beats them up. That makes the villagers not like her either. To Naruto, he thinks this is a time to show them that he is someone. But Miyu is a different story. She sees this as the true nature of people and only believes in Naruto. Naruto understands Miyu, but maybe not enough to see that she has distrust for everyone but him."

"Even though they're young, they know what it's like to be strong, like your dad did. I think they know better than any of us, what you're going through. What they said to you earlier, as cruel as it sounds, they probably told themselves a thousand times." Kakashi finished.

Everyone was silent, feeling bad for thinking poorly of the twins.

Miyuna's POV

I lay in my futon, glaring at the ceiling. I knew it. They're all judgmental jerks. Every last one of them. I put my arm over my eyes and clenched my fists.

They're all liars. Trying to act nice. Naruto. He's all I have. And I'll make sure that he lives a fun life. Even at the cost of my own. Without him, I am nothing.

~~

"Okay I leave Naruto in your hands. He's pushed his body to the limit; overdoing it as usual. So he may not be able to move today at all." Kakashi said. I only agreed because it was in the best interest for him. He needs to rest and stay safe.

I ignored the rest of Kakashi's and Tsunami's conversation. She pissed me off as much as the kid. She's babying him too much. She needs to let him grow.

Although I baby Naruto too. But it's different.

So we headed out to the bridge. As we neared I smelt it. Blood, octopus balls, and flowers.

When we got on the bridge, unconscious bodies of the workers lay scattered about. I instantly channeled chakra into my hands and feet. They're here.

I glanced around as Tazuna was freaking out. Mist started to form around us. Crap. I sighed. Not this again. Well at least Naruto's not here. If he were to fight in his condition then . . . I shook my head and cleared the thoughts. No. I'm going out before Naruto and I don't plan on making that today.

I shoved Tazuna behind me and listened carefully while smelling the wet air. Everyone else got into position as we stood around Tazuna.

His voice echoed as he spoke. I noticed Sasuke trembling and grabbed his hand. He jumped and looked at me. I smiled and did a slight nod.

He stopped shaking and a ghost of a smile came on his face. Water clones appeared in front of us. Oh? He wants to play like that huh?

Bring it! "Go on, Sasuke, Miyu." Sasuke and I moved fast. He sliced some of the clones while I just punched them through their chests or to decapitate them. We jumped back to our spots and the clones turned into water.

I smirked. Nice try dude.

I put my fists up and was in fighting position. "Oh, you two could see that they were water clones huh? Looks like you have two rivals Haku." The Tracker Ninja stood beside Zabuza.

I stared at the two, never letting my guard down. Zabuza . . . his chakra isn't evil. Maybe my judgment of chakra is screwed up. He . . . he's a killer. So why do I feel like he isn't all bad.

I clenched my fists and glared. No, stop that Miyu! I need to practice on reading intentions in chakra. His is to kill but the sense of bad isn't as matched as his. I'm so confused and I'm not quite sure what I should make out of it.

All I know is that I have to protect my team. Naruto isn't here, so I got lucky there. However having to protect Sasuke and Sakura . . . that's going to be a bit challenging.

So there we stood. A fight was about to begin.
