Byakugan vs. Shadow Clone Jutsu!
I let out a loud, unattractive yawn. The girl from the Sand Village looked at me strangely. "What?" I snapped. She flinched the tiniest bit before turning away. That's what I thought.
"Welcome all! And our deepest thanks for coming here to the Village Hidden in the Leaves for this year's chunin selection." Gramps voice echoed. Still not entirely happy with him at the moment.
"We have come to the final competition between the ten candidates who made it through the preliminaries. We ask that no one leaves until all the matches have been completed. Now everyone enjoy!" The crowd erupted with cheers.
This is annoying. What a pain. I looked over the candidates one more time. You better hurry it up Sasuke. Or you'll miss your fight.
"Oh. There's one more thing before we get started." I glanced at our proctor boredly. "Look it over. There's been a slight change in the match ups." I zoned him out. I already know this. I watched as Gaara took care of Dosu and I overheard gramps talking about it.
I glanced at Gaara as the memory came back.
~Flashback~
I stood across the building having a stare off with Gaara. I was just wandering around minding my own business when his sand brought me to him. We've just been staring at each other for an hour.
Until Dosu showed up. He gave me a creepy look before turning to Gaara. "I was planning on attacking you while you slept. If I fight and defeat you now, then in the next round I can battle the one I really want to face, Sasuke."
I wasn't a big fan of him. Not when he first spied on us, not when we were taking the written exam, and especially not after the forest of death fiasco. I hated him and his team.
And he's still after Sasuke. I narrowed my eyes on him. "Is he an acquaintance of yours?" Gaara asked. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a fan of Gaara either. I do like him more than Dosu though.
I snorted as I glared down mummy man. "More like a nuisance." Gaara said nothing to this. I didn't think much of it until his sand took action.
"Wh-what in the world are you?!" Dosu's voice cried out.
I glanced at Gaara after he finished him off. He looked at me with blood thirsty eyes. I had to go. Because I could tell he wanted more. And I'm not dying by his hand.
~Flashback End~
He's a fearsome person indeed. "Miyu." I blinked out of my thoughts to see Shikamaru pulling me away. "We need to go up. Naruto's fight with Neji is about to start.
I nodded and followed him. I glanced at my brother. Although logic states he shouldn't win, I'd put all my money on him. I smiled. Good luck big brother.
I then turned and walked off. Now for the Uchiha. He's still training with Kakashi. He better get his ass moving. His match is next.
I stood with the others at the observation deck, standing next to Shikamaru. I smirked and glanced at him. "1,000 yen says Naruto wins." He returned my smirk with one of his own. "I'll take that bet."
I then looked back at the arena. You can do it big brother. Don't make me lose any money. We're running low on our monthly payment.
I watched Naruto and Neji face off. "You got anything to say to me?" Neji asked. Naruto kept a serious face and held out his fist like he did when he vowed victory after Neji's fight with Hinata. I closed my eyes. This is more than a test on ranking. It's personal. And Naruto won't lose.
Naruto looked pissed though. "Only what I told you last time. I vow to win!" Neji activated his Byakugan. The lines apparent on his face. He's studying Naruto and I smirked.
Naruto's calmer and surer. He must realize Naruto is putting his heart into it.
Neji then took up his fighting stance while chuckling. "So much the better for me. I can't wait to see the look of despair on your face when you learn that your foolish vow is impossible to keep."
Why that arrogant-
"Are we going to stand here talking all day? Let's get going. Show me what you got." Naruto asked. A strong wind picked up. And I crossed my arms. Yes. This match isn't for the exams anymore. It's to show that Naruto . . . is not a weakling. Not pathetic. That he's strong. This is a fight that Naruto must overcome and prove his worth.
"Alright. Now let the first match . . . begin!" The proctor called. The crowd cheer, excited to watch the fight. And so it starts.
The two stayed in a stare off to begin with. The crowd held their breath waiting for someone to make the first move.
Neji took a small step forward but Naruto didn't even blink. I could hear my heart pounding in my chest, waiting to see the outcome.
Just when I couldn't take it anymore Naruto threw some kunai. Neji caught one, deflected the other, and used the little hole to catch the last.
Naruto then charged forward. Not exactly the smartest move considering Neji can only do close range hand to hand combat.
Naruto then threw a punch but Neji merely moved his fist away and Naruto crouched to the ground before sending a kick up while kicking off the ground and jumping away. However Neji easily evaded his kick.
Naruto landed and launched forward and hit him. However Neji easily evaded his hits with a cocky smirk on his face. No matter how many punched or kicks Naruto sent, Neji blocked them like they were nothing. I bit my lip. Come on Naruto.
As Naruto went for another hit, Neji caught his fist and smacked his chest. I could see the pathway for his chakra blocked. Damn.
Neji went for another. "Naruto!" I shouted. He's going to halt Naruto's chakra points. He managed to hit a chakra point on his shoulder.
I grit my teeth. Come on big brother.
Naruto rolled away, panting slightly. I blinked. Or so I thought. I smirked. "He missed the point." Shikamaru looked at me in shock. "What? How can you tell?" He asked.
I kept my eyes on the match below. "I can see chakra as well as smell them. And just like Neji I can see the chakra points on a person. Not as well as he can, but I can see it none the less. Neji missed that chakra point."
Shikamaru looked at me in surprise before looking back at the match.
He may have missed, but I bet he won't again. Naruto is going to be in a bit of a bind unless he figures out a way to fight him.
"Do you understand now? You have no way of beating me." Neji stated cockily. Naruto smirked and chuckled. "Get real, I was just checking you out, that's all." Liar. But Naruto is only getting started.
It's only the beginning. "Okay, now that we're warmed up, we can get started." Naruto then made the hand sign for his signature technique.
Well here goes nothing. "Shadow Clone Jutsu!" Naruto then created four, perfect, shadow clones of himself. He even distributed equal amounts of chakra in them.
I smirked. That's it. Now this match will get interesting.
All the Naruto's brought out a kunai. The four clones rushed at Neji, but he merely used two of them to push himself up in the air and land back down. Two Naruto's rushed from both sides to stab him with a kunai. But Neji easily moved their hands and bodies away with just a light push.
A Naruto went to kick him under his chin and Neji jumped up like he got hit. But he didn't.
Why that conniving son of a-
Neji landed on his feet. As two Naruto's closed in from opposite directions, he jumped up and spun. What is he planning? I narrowed my eyes on the match. He kicked one on top of the head and brought him down while he kicked another one under his chin, sending him up. Making one disappear.
He's good. His taijutsu is excellent. However I like Lee's way better. It's more original and how real fights should be fought.
This is just stupid.
Two other Naruto's ran from behind but Neji easily pushed them forward before delivering a strike to their back, instantly destroying them.
Damn him.
He then walked over to the last clone who was on the ground. He picked him up and placed his hand on his chest, making him disappear, leaving only Naruto left.
"You thought you could be Hokage? It's absurd. Never." I gained an irk mark and gripped the railing tightly. Don't you dare mock Naruto's dream. Watch it Hyuga.
"These eyes of mine show me many things. One thing they've shown me; people's limitations are set, fixed, and unchangeable. Only a fool wastes his time trying to become something he can never be."
The railing I was gripping shattered, surprising the other competitors. I hung my head and allowed my bangs to cover my eyes.
I was gritting my teeth and clenching my fists. I don't like it when people do that to him. I hate them. So much. "Shut up." I growled lowly, only allowing me and little people to hear.
"A fool huh? Not this crap again. Who are you to judge who a person can or can't be?" Naruto questioned angrily. "Do you think anyone can be Hokage? That all it takes is a little hard work?"
Why that- He's pissing me off. "Open your eyes. Of all the shinobi in all the world, think how you'll ever be Hokage. They were born, destined, to be Hokage. It's not something you become by merely trying to become it. They were chosen by destiny."
"Each person is given their own path to follow. And they must follow it obediently. To the end." No. Fate, destiny? What a load of crap! "There is only one destiny we all share equally. Death."
I looked forward, my piercing blue eyes trying to kill Neji with one look. Anger, hatred, and absolute anguish flowed with me. How dare he talk to Naruto like that?
"Yeah? So what?! You can think that way if you want." Naruto then put his fist outwards, a determined look on his face. "People always tell me I just don't know when to give up! Shadow Clone Jutsu!"
Lots of Naruto's appeared. I closed my eyes. You did the one thing we cannot forgive. And that's mock his dream. And you're going to pay for it Hyuga.
