Lethal Combination; Blood and the Spear of Indra
Keigo let his hands fall, making the boulder descend down towards us.
Chains! No time! I threw a kunai out of range from the attack and grabbed the boys, Flash Stepping just in the nick of time. "The hell is with this guy?" Hawaki growled in annoyance.
I stared at Keigo's broken body. If he keeps on going, he's going to do some serious permanent damage to his body. That or he'll die.
His fingers twitched and the earth erupted at our feet. We jumped away to avoid being pulled under.
He's doing all this without hand signs. As I thought, he must have some sort of Kekkei Genkai involving manipulating earth. This is not what I was expecting.
I jumped away to avoid the earth that spiked from the ground under me.
Hawaki rushed at him, weaving his hands. "Piercing Whistle!" His lips moved together and I could see the chakra spew from his mouth as he whistled, heading straight for Keigo. Before he could block it, it seemingless disappeared before hitting him straight on from the back. "Ahg!" He shouted, clutching his hands to his ears.
Hawaki whipped out his blade and swung. However Keigo's shuriken moved, blocking Hawaki's sword. With a twitch of his fingers the Earth rose beneath him.
Hawaki moved in the nick of time to avoid it from going straight through his heart, but it did pierce his shoulder. His left shoulder. His dominant hand.
Hawaki cried out and jumped away, his sword dropping from his hand. His other immediately went to clutch his wound when another barrage of earth needles headed for him. "Hawaki!" Haru and I shouted.
I Flash Stepped over towards him, throwing my arm out and taking the hit. Three needles stabbed straight through my arm and Haru quickly grabbed Hawaki and jumped away.
Grunting, I tore my arm away from the needles, freeing myself.
But Keigo lunged at me nonetheless, his shuriken moving on its own and backing him up. His adrenaline is insane for him to move with his bones being crushed as they are.
I blocked his kunai with one kunai. His shuriken moved towards my other side. Tch. I ran out of kunai.
Concentrating I made the blood on my bleeding arm expand and harden. I quickly brought it up and successfully blocked the giant shuriken.
The earth groaned and shook beneath our feet, I was expecting an attack from below as well, but Haru's cry made me turn my head to see that he was focusing those attacks on the boy.
Hawaki shoved the small boulder off of Haru's leg with his uninjured arm and helped Haru up. But he let out another cry as he puts pressure on his leg and he crumpled to the ground.
Hawaki's down his dominant arm and Haru his leg. He purposely made them weaker by simply taking out a necessary limb.
Because I was so focused on the boys, I didn't notice Keigo whip out another kunai before he plunged it into my side. With a feral scream he tore it across my abdomen, making me shout.
I shoved the kunai away before bringing my hardened bloodied fist to Keigo's face, feeling the bones in his cheek break under the fortified hit.
He flew back but made the earth move up and cushion his fall.
I hissed in pain, placing my hand across my wound. Concentrate. Focus on the blood. Feel it. Make it stop. Clog it. Harden it. Just like your arm.
At my will, and the damn Blood Release, it did. While I don't know any actual jutsu's for it, hardening it and making it move a bit is kind of like instinct.
I felt the familiar buzz in my mind as my more feral side woke from its forced slumber. I pushed it back before it could fully solidify.
Focus. Do not let it take form.
Keigo stood up and tilted his head to the side. Staring at me with wild eyes. He wasn't even phased by the fact that I broke his cheekbone. I really doubt he even noticed it.
This isn't good. He's not only as strong as Tsuyoshi, he's even stronger on the account that I can't read him. He doesn't have any plans. He's just doing everything on the spot.
I jumped out of the way as the Earth formed a giant hand, springing towards me. "AHG!"
My head swiveled to see another large hand held the boys tightly. Of course as soon as I looked away, I was stabbed in the back by the shuriken. "AHH!" I shouted falling to my knees before Keigo leg struck my side, flinging me to the side.
"Guillotine!" Haru shouted. I blocked yet another strike, but this time I could see the boys over Keigo's shoulder. Haru had made the attack hit them and destroy the hand made of earth that was keeping them captive.
"Damn Poochi! You almost killed me!" Hawaki growled.
Haru grunted, favoring his left leg. "Next time I'll be more delicate while saving your ass." He snapped.
Good, they're okay. I moved my hand out and gripped the blade, channelling chakra, and tightened, shattering it. As soon as I did I snatched his shirt and pulled him forward and slammed my forehead into his.
He let out a grunt of pain. Without wasting time, I flung him over my shoulder. "Guys!"
"Steel Storm!" A variety of weapons shot towards the airborne enemy. What's Haru doing? Keigo can just block it.
Like I expected, he used a wall of earth to block him and the weapons bounced off the hardened wall. But Haru merely smirked.
What is he up to?
Hawaki grinned maliciously and weaved his hands, ignoring the pain in his arm. "Ninja Art: Sonar Screech." I could visibly see rings of sound move out, rather slowly, but they vibrated madly.
However the attack itself doesn't seem like it does much physical damage other than the ears. But with all those metal weapons surrounding him, the rings hit them and bounced off, going straight back to Keigo. With each bounce off a weapon it only increased in sound.
Keigo screamed and clutched his ears tightly as he was bombarded with sound after sound attack.
A good combination those two came up with. Surprising with how much they argue.
With an enraged snarl Keigo swiped his arms and the entire ground within a fifty foot radius just exploded, flinging us into the air.
Blood seeped through the wounds on my legs from that attack and I nearly growled in agitation.
That freaking hurt!
I moved my body in the air so I landed on my feet. Mild pain shooting through my legs at the landing.
Assessing the situation, I see that he really made a mess of the ground. I can't see the boys through the mass of debris. But I do see Keigo.
His hands twitched and an array of earth made weapons moved up, along with his signature shuriken. This guy isn't giving up anytime soon.
The battle has gone on too long. The boys are low on chakra and they're injured. Even I'm running low and my chakra reservoirs are larger than the average ninja thanks to my mother's genes.
Keigo should be at his limit too. But he won't stop. He'll kill himself so long as it means he kills me. This is a suicide mission he's given himself.
The weapons all launched at me and I quickly held my sword in one hand and a kunai in another one, blocking each one that came at me. But it's getting harder and harder.
He's just baraging me with them, I can't block all of them with a simple sword and kunai. No matter how many I blocked or deflected, another would cut at me. I can't fight against all these weapons with this.
I'll need something that works both long and short range with a long enough handle so I could deflect on a larger surface of me. Like a . . .
My hip burned as I suddenly remembered the scroll holding that massive spear. The one I found in that cave. My eyes tried to dart around to see if I could spot any spears or glaives that Haru had produced, but Keigo destroyed the entire field and made it a completely different area.
There's nothing. I can't see anything but jagged earth. From the faint sounds of metal clashing with a hard surface, I can assume the boys are in the same position as me.
I have no doubt that they're perfectly able to defend themselves. But Keigo had attacked a necessary limb on both of them. And he's freakishly powerful. So they're probably starting to weaken.
I need to end this now. I can't let either of the boys suffer anymore just because of something I did.
But there's something wrong with that weapon. The pure adrenaline rush and need to fight is concerning.
Ah screw it!
I jumped back and away, throwing smoke pellets as I did so, blocking Keigo's view of me.
Because he couldn't see me, he couldn't accurately use his weapons against me.
I reached into my pouch and pulled out the scroll with intricate writing on it. Pushing down my unease, I unrolled it and channeled my chakra into it.
Let's do this.
Reaching into the scroll, my fingers curled around the handle. A small spark of electricity jolted me and I wrenched the golden weapon from its place within the scroll and twirled it, blocking an onslaught of earth weapons.
"A shiny new weapon won't help you." He declared, his eyes locked on me now that the smoke has cleared.
The corner of my lip twitched upwards as a wave of unbounding confidence overcame me. "We'll see." Was all I said before moving forward, weapon back.
As another rush of weapons headed towards me, I swiped the spear in a large ark, shattering the earth and making a gust of wind move with it, disturbing the other weapons hovering nearby.
More were hurdled towards me and I spun the spear fast in a circle, shielding me from the onslaught.
Even though I have trained with a variety of weapons, spears included, this one was different. Moving it is as if I'm moving an arm without even having to think about needing to see it that way.
We rushed at one another, him calling his shuriken back to his hand. With a shout we thrust our weapon at each other, making the sound of metal against metal more appealing to me.
I pushed against his shuriken and he grunted, eyes zoning in on the golden spear. Even now all I could feel was the buzzing of excitement at the idea of this battle.
His eyes went from my weapon to my eyes, noticing the change in me.
Grinning I pushed him back more and swung the weapon down, nicking his arm as he retreated backwards.
He grit his teeth and held his shuriken up more. "What the hell is that?" I was about to respond but noticed the arm he held his weapon in is dripping fresh blood.
My gaze stayed on the thick red substance as it dripped. My soul seemed to throb. The voice persisted. Normally I could push it back, but my hand unconsciously tightened on the spear.
The flow of electricity, the adrenaline, the need for a fight, mixed with my need to spill blood, it's too much.
Fight.
Blood.
A hand was placed over mine, a new person standing behind me.
What the?
I glanced to the side and followed the arm up. My face inches from my own, grinning at me maliciously. Her red eyes staring deep into my blue ones.
"We must honor the weapon and fight with full power. Right?" No. You're wrong. Despite knowing this, I just gripped the spear tighter. My own mind fogging over.
It's cloudy. It's getting darker. But I can see it. Blood. I can see it under his skin and seeping out of his wounds.
Just like that, I couldn't see right. It was like I was watching from somewhere else. Somewhere far away as this stranger rushed at Keigo again.
With a slash, his shuriken shattered and a deep cut was made across his abdomen. More blood spraying out.
The sight made me pull more back into focus. The ruby liquid glinting like a jewel. More. More blood.
Fight. Fight harder.
It was different from normal. This overwhelming need for blood is usually in itself. But it was mixed with the need to fight more brutally. To fight harder.
The excitement of battle makes me only want to shed more blood. I crouched down, drawing my weapon back. My legs are building up so I'd spring forward at an insanely speedy rate.
Just like that I sprung forward and swung. Keigo quickly made the earth move up to shield him, but the blade cut through it like butter.
I spun in a circle, making the weapon spin with me and lashed out, striking his arm again. His cry of pain only made me even more excited.
How thrilling battle can be. Yes. Fight. Ironically fighting is the only thing you view as pure. And what goes better with battle then blood? The voice made a tickle run up and down my spine.
No . . . it's . . . ah. My mind feels weird. Everything is very foggy. Why not? It feels good. Fighting. With this spear? It's nice. I feel invincible and . . . euphoric.
Taking one hand off the spear I held the other one out towards the man in front of me.
What was his name again? Ah to hell with it.
Focusing on the blood draining from his arm I closed my hand into a tight fist, watching the blood from his arm spike outwards, skewering his limb and escaping him freely.
He shouted and fell to his knees, clutching his mutilated limb. But he didn't stop. No he used his bloody hand to do some hand signs before slamming his it to the ground.
Familiar black lines moving out. "Summoning Jutsu!" He roared. Smoke covered the area before revealing a large badger.
The creature let out a feral growl before digging at the ground rapidly. The dust got in my eye making me use my hand to shield them from it.
By the time I managed to focus on it again it had burrowed underground. Tch. What an annoying creature.
Luckily the world is still dark. I can see the red popping out in contrast to it. So I can see it's digging below me. Seeing it move up towards me, I jumped up in time as it broke through where I was just standing with a screech.
Hmph. I threw the spear down towards it, sticking it straight through its eye.
The creature screeched in pain and went into a wild frenzy. I watched with mild interest as it banged it's head against a giant boulder.
One, two, three. The third the spear managed to dislodge and clattered to the ground. The sight of the spear abandoned sparked something in me.
The need to take it back and hold it in my hands taking precedence even over the need to spill more blood.
I rushed towards it, ignoring the wailing creature. However another person beat me to it. That man.
He went to grab it, but the moment his bloodied fingers touched the weapon it shocked him to the point he couldn't touch it.
Very much like when I found it.
With a growl of my own I punched him square in the jaw, knocking him back before retrieving the weapon.
My mind went into a strange ease despite the rabid thoughts that clouded my mind. "What the hell is that?" He repeated.
I ignored him. There's no point in talking. Our fight is all the talking we need. And I've still got plenty to say.
So I attacked. And with each strike it only boosted my energy. The man grunts as he tried with all his might to block my attacks furthered it.
His badger ran towards us. He needs to be taken down for the beast to disappear. So I attacked him harder.
More. More. More!
"HAA!" More of his blood spilled on me and he finally collapsed. He's beautiful. His body is so broken and is covered head to toe in blood.
As the creature took a swipe at me, it poofed away, leaving only me and the man.
Is he alive? Ah well. Who cares. He's so beautiful. But one more. One more stab to top it off. I grabbed the spear with both hands and hovered over the man, raising it slowly. With this one last thrust, it'll be finished.
"Stop!"
Arms wrapped around my waist and pulled me back. I thrust my elbow back and nailed the person in his ribs, making him release me.
I swung the weapon back to take care of him when another person blocked it with a sword.
Two young guys stood in front of me and there was a small pain in the lower back of my skull. There's a familiarity to them that was gnawing at me. But their blood screamed to be freed, just like the mans.
I pushed against him and flung him into the first one. Both let out yelps of surprise. "What the hell Crazy Girl?!" The one with the bloodied arm demanded as he stood again.
"Oh no. Not this again." The other one murmured, staring at me with concern. I lunged at them with a war cry and smashed the ground where they once were.
Unfortunately they dodged. But that didn't matter. I side swept and almost cut the injured arm one, but the other tackled him away, making me miss.
"What the hells gotten into her?! Why're you acting like this? Wait, what's with your eyes? Earth to Crazy Girl?!" The injured one demanded.
But the one who interfered pushed him back, staring right into my eyes. "Miyu, come back to your senses. This isn't you. It's the experiment!"
The experiment?
No, it's you.
"Calm down. You don't want to hurt us. We're friends. Remember?"
Cut them down. Spill their blood in a wonderful battle.
Before he knew it I was in front of him and swung upwards, going for his neck. His eyes went wide in fear. "What would Naruto say?!"
Naruto.
My blade stopped, just barely pressing against his adams apple. Naruto . . . Naruto. Who was that? And why is there this overwhelming . . . sadness?
The other guy pulled my victim away from me before I could snap back out of it. Seeing my prey escape seemed to do it and I snarled in anger.
"What's wrong with her?" The one in the dark demanded. The one in question pursed his lips and stepped forward, favoring his left leg.
"Your name is Miyuna Uzumaki. Sister to Naruto Uzumaki." His words spread something in my mind. And I didn't like it.
With a shout I lunged at him and he pulled out two curved blades to block my strike.
"You're from the Village Hidden in the Leaves! Sasuke Uchiha is your boyfriend. You left to protect them. All of your friends. Even Itachi Uchiha! C'mon Miyu snap out of it. We're trying to find him. Remember?"
Pain exploded in my skull as the fog began to lift. Naruto, Sasuke, Itachi. These two . . .
"H-Haru. Hawaki." I rasped out, struggling to overpower him and the noise in my mind.
My head feels like it's shattering. And my eyes, god, my eyes feel like they're being run through a shredder. My body feels like I've taken a hundred of Granny Tsunade and Pervy Sage's hits and Rasengan.
Everything is painful.
What am I doing? I can't hurt them. They're my comrades. My friends. No.
Cut through them. Do it!
I shook my head and backed up, throwing the spear onto the ground and clutching my head in my hands.
She was in front of me again. Lips curled into a snarl. "Stop hesitating! Pick it up! Kill them!" I just shook my head and shut my eyes tight. No. Stop it! Stop!
Her shouting just worsened my splitting head. That and the screams from elsewhere. Who's screaming? Wait, those are from me.
"Don't be weak!"
No. I'm not weak. Get out of my head. Anger boiled deep inside me. Again. She's making things harder on me again. I've had enough of this.
Get out! Get out! "GET OUT!" I screamed.
And suddenly it was gone. The shattering of my head, her overwhelming presence, even the need to fight. It was all just gone.
My hands released my head and I wearily looked up towards my companions. I only caught their looks of concern before dropping to the ground and blacking out.
Only this time instead of nightmares that plague me with her, it was nothing. Absolutely nothing.
And that's probably the most peaceful sleep I've had in years.
