Chapter 27: The Beginning of the End
Hey guys!!! This is the last chapter but there's still the Epilogue!
~~~~~~~
Naruto's POV
Magnolia might not be my child but her temper is similar to me... Remember how I was angry with Nina just showing up at the front of my door two days ago, well Magnolia is literally throwing a fit right in front of me. And this early in the morning... Nina's timing sucks!
"HOW COME YOU NEVER TOLD ME?!!!" The child screamed at the top of her lungs, tears and snot streaming down her face.
I stood there, arms crossed watching my assumed child for so long. Her real mother and her aunt stood facing me and Hinata. Valerie was covering her face in embarrassment while Nina looked really shock with her daughter's action.
I haven't 100% forgiven Van and Nina for doing what they did but after hearing her circumstances at the time and now that she could actually take care of the child (multi-millionare supermodel), she actually took responsibility to come back and take the child away.
In a way, it was more of babysitting for almost a decade.
However, Magnolia isn't taking it too well.
"Hey, Magnolia grow up a bit, why don't ya?" I groaned.
"NO!!!" she sat up with a loud scream. "YOU LIED TO ME ALL THESE YEARS!!! EVERYBODY DID! I DON'T KNOW WHO I CAN TRUST ANYMORE!"
My patient is slowly running thin at the little booger child.
"Hey kid, it's not like I didn't tell you," I said. "I didn't know either!"
Hinata pinched my side a bit, surprising me, "Ow, Hina!"
"Let me handle this," she said with a warm smile. "I am her idol after all."
I nodded, "Be careful, she's my clone practically."
Hinata stepped forth, causing Magnolia's endless crying to stop altogether. Alright, she has got to teach me that.
Crouching down, she wiped the child's cheek, "Hey, it's okay."
"I deserved to know, right Hinata?" she sobbed. "I deserved to know!"
"Yeah I agree that you do deserve to know, however," Hinata paused. "Your parents were doing everything they could to make you happy. Your real mother was going through a tough time but she still wanted you to have an amazing life that's why you were raised by your aunt and Naruto-kun. It's true that Naruto-kun didn't know about who your true parents were. And now that he does know, he'll continue on trying to treat you like you were his own."
My little girl looked at me, "Is it true, Daddy?"
I gave her a giant smile and thumbs up, "I might not be your blood father but I am your godfather, right?"
Nina looked a little shock at the sudden exclamation but she didn't question it. Hinata came up with the idea last night, considering I did raise her. I would be able to help Nina deal with the problem child during the year Van is in jail. Until he leaves, Naruto will step in as the father.
"Then what does that make you, Hinata?" Magnolia turned to my fiance.
I couldn't see her reaction but I did notice the, "Eh?"
"She's your godmother," Valerie smirked, looking at me. "She is marrying Naruto in a few months anyway."
Hinata's beautiful eyes flashed to me but I only winked at her. It is true, since she's married to me Hinata is automatically Magnolia's godmother.
The legend doctor was suddenly tackled in the stomach. I panicked, Valerie panicked, and Nina yelled, "Magnolia! Hey! There's a baby in there!"
Hinata didn't look at all affect by the sudden attack. Magnolia was sobbing into her stomach as she patted the child's head whispering kind words that is inaudible to everybody else.
The image itself made me freeze. Hinata was always gentle except when it comes to having to snap orders at others to save a patient in the ER. I've only see her mad at me once and it was that day I called her into my office to make up. She did get a lot more confident now but her gentleness and kindness had never disappeared. Even if Magnolia was the destruction of our relationship, she loves the child as if she did give birth to her. Sure they met only twice but that's what makes Hinata so special. She loves the child because it was mines and because the child was lost.
I came to a realization... There is no other woman in the world that I don't want to be the mother of my children. There is no other person I want to spend the rest of my life with other than Hinata Hyuga.
I am never letting her go, ever again.
"Is Naruto meditating?" Nina whispered. "Why is he meditating? He's Naruto, he beats people up for fun, he doesn't meditate!"
I opened my eyes to see Valerie nodding in agreement before answering, "Yeah I think he hit his head one too many times when he was in Japan. He looks almost peaceful..."
"I'm literally right here you know," I growled. "I can hear you."
"Oops sorry," Nina winked, she ain't sorry at all. "I forgot."
Sure, sorry my ass.
Two days later...
Hinata's POV
I looked around the giant ball room, surprised, "Wow you outdid yourself, Sasuke."
My best friend smiled proudly at himself, "Yes, yes I did. Anything for my best lady."
Naruto chuckled next to me, "There's no way she's going to believe that this is a simple high school reunion."
"Yeah she will."
"Valerie, Magnolia, even Nina here's plus Jason and those pop stars," Naruto took a sip of his wine. "Some Konoha High reunion party."
Sasuke waved it off, "She won't question my guest list so stop insulting it."
"Whatever pretty boy," Naruto put his wine down and turned to me. "Madam, may I have this dance?"
He held out his artificial hand to me, I accepted it with a little, "Why of course you may."
"I'm just gonna go away now," Sasuke replied.
As Naruto led the way to the dance floor, I noticed not too far away Sai had asked Ino to dance as well. I'm silently rooting for them to get back together because they broke up due to business crap, not because they lost feelings for one another. Ino needs someone like Sai in her life, calm and collected to even out her craziness. Oh, like Sakura and Sasuke... Naruto and me.
It's funny how this world works.
I didn't bother listening to the song because Naruto's loving expression was far more interesting. He pulled me closer until I'm practically against his chest, my chin resting on his taller shoulder.
"Does this bring back memories?" he murmured.
"Yeah," I kissed his ear softly. "Of when you called me a chump."
His body went rigid, making me laugh a bit.
"Sorry about that," apologized Naruto. "I think I was a little drunk."
"Sure you were," I giggled.
His grip on me tightened, "But look how far we got."
It was my turn to tighten my grip around his neck, "Yeah. Thank you."
"No Hinata," he pried me off him so I was looking into his ocean blue eyes. "Thank you."
Leaning down, Naruto's lip met mines softly; melting my whole body.
Remember how I said before that I never wanted to fall for Naruto and that I never will? Well, disregard it, please. I can't imagine my life without this crazy bimbo in it. I just can't, he's become so special to me that my life can never be this meaningful without him in it.
I love this crazy CEO. Nothing is ever going to change that.
So as we separated, I gave him my first of many vows, "I'm ready to take the next step in our lives together."
Naruto winked at me, "It's the beginning of the end, believe it."
