Your awakening
After spending a few days in the healing pod, Ulaz drained the healing liquid before opening the pod, removing the breathing mask and feeding tube and taking you out carefully. He dressed you in a soft infirmary gown before laying you on a recovery bed and hooked you up to a heart monitor. You looked a lot better, but you still looked a little thin. He messaged Kolivan that you were out of the healing pod before checking your vitals and doing a few scans to make sure that you were going to be okay.
"Is she awake yet?" Kolivan asked Ulaz as he entered the infirmary and walked over to where Ulaz was standing by the recovery bed where you laying on.
"No, but she will be soon. She's going to need time to heal naturally when she wakes up. What are you planning on doing with her?" Ulaz queried, not looking up from you.
"She's going to stay here until further notice." Kolivan answered while staring down at you; your bruises were mostly gone, but your hair was still a mess.
While Kolivan and Ulaz were busy discussing your new living conditions, you were starting to wake up. It started when you heard the hushed voices of two men talking followed by the beeping of a heart monitor. At first you thought that you had been recaptured, but as you started to wake up a little more, you didn't feel any restraints on your wrists and ankles. Ulaz and Kolivan turned their attention back to you when they heard you quietly groan. They patiently waited for you to wake up, hoping that you were going to be alright; Ulaz even had his miniature flashlight ready to check your eyes with.
Your whole body felt sore and you could feel your stomach grumble as you slowly woke up. As your E/c eyes fluttered open, Kolivan found himself in awe when he saw what color they were. You heard the slow beeping of a heart monitor more as you let out another groan of discomfort. Ulaz was thankful that your heart rate was normal and that you were waking up without any issues.
"Wh-where am I?" You asked as you looked up at the two Galran men who stood at your bedside, taking note of their uniforms; they were obviously not from the Galra Empire.
"You're at the main Blade of Marmora headquarters. I am Kolivan, leader of the Blades and this is my chief medical officer, Ulaz." Kolivan told you, introducing himself before introducing Ulaz.
Ulaz nodded his head sharply as a greeting before proceeding to make sure that you didn't have a concussion. When he saw that you didn't, he turned his miniature flashlight off and went to go put it away, bringing back a hydration pack. After tending to Shiro so long, he knew a lot about how the Human body worked. However, he wasn't currently aware that you had a period every month; he would soon, though.
"How did I get here?" You asked Kolivan with curiosity, your throat feeling a little dry.
"I found you in an escape pod after it crash landed-" Kolivan answered, not knowing your name and trailing off.
"Y/n. Y/n L/n." You introduced yourself, grateful that you had been rescued, but a little wary of your savior because he was a Galran.
"You will be staying here at our base. I'm going on to have my Second in Command, Antok, prepare a habsuite for you to live in until further notice." Kolivan told you softly, noticing how you were a little nervous, but not enough to make the heart monitor go crazy.
"Thank you, for saving me." You quietly responded, smiling slightly up at Kolivan.
"You're welcome, Y/n. I'll see you later when you're feeling better. Until then, Ulaz will take care of you while I'm away looking over mission reports." Kolivan told you, looking directly into your eyes.
"Okay, see you later." You said, hoping that you weren't blushing.
Kolivan felt flustered as he turned around and walked out of the infirmary, feeling an oddly warm feeling in his chest. Ulaz caught the change in Kolivan's scent as his leader left, knowing exactly what was going on. Ulaz grabbed a nutrition bar from one of the cupboards, giving it and the hydration pack to you. You thanked Ulaz, taking both items from him as he offered them to you. Ulaz went to the back room, giving you some privacy to eat and drink; he would be sure that you ate nutrition bars and drank from hydration packs until you were fully healed.
__________
After you arrived at the main Blade of Marmora headquarters, word quickly got out around the base that there was a Human around. Most of the operatives only knew about Humans because of the Paladins, but they had never seen one up close. A few of the Blades got a glance at you when they saw Antok leading you to your new habsuite, but none of them said anything to you. You were having dinner in your room, so you weren't in the cafeteria. During dinner, Thace, Ilun, Vrek, Regris and Ulaz were sitting at the same table together; Ulaz was getting his dinner, so he wasn't sitting down as of yet.
"What do you think this Human is really like? Do you think that he's secretly a spy?" Regris quietly asked the others, not wanting Kolivan to hear him, even though Kolivan was sitting with Antok at the opposite end of the room.
"I thought that it was a she." Ilun responded in confusion, her brows furrowing a little.
"I only remember seeing three men when they were brought to Central Command." Thace told everyone at the table; he didn't know that a fourth Human had been captured.
"She could still be a spy." Regris commented with suspicion, not trusting you whatsoever since you practically came out of nowhere.
"Yes, she is female and no, she's not a spy. Y/n was a prisoner who was captured with the other three Humans." Ulaz corrected Regris, Thace and Ilun when he sat down with his tray of food, not wanting any rumors to be spread about you.
"I see that someone has a little crush." Thace teased his best friend, a grin appearing on his face.
"I feel no affection for Y/n, you know that very well. My heart already belongs to another." Ulaz firmly reminded Thace, glancing over at a beautiful female Blade who was sitting at another table.
Thace rolled his eyes and chuckled, knowing who his friend was looking at. However, he couldn't help but wonder why Kolivan was having you stay at the base rather than sending you to live with the Paladins; surely the Blades' leader couldn't have a soft spot for you. Thace looked over at Kolivan and saw him having an intense conversation with Antok and wondered what they were talking about. When he started eating, he stopped thinking about you.
"So what is she like?" Regris curiously asked Ulaz after a few minutes, looking at the good doctor.
"I haven't known her for very long, so I can't tell you what her personality is like. However, she's around Y/a and she has S/t skin, E/c eyes and H/l H/c hair. She's wary of us, but she has every right to be after what she's been through. Yemi will be Y/n's counselor." Ulaz told Regris before turning his attention back to his food, not wanting it to get cold.
Regris flicked the fin-like ears that were on his head before he started eating again; he hadn't seen you, so it was nice to know what you looked like, at least. It wasn't that he was interested in you in a romantic way, but he was intrigued by you since the only Humans he saw were the Paladins. In fact, it was Keith who saved his life during his mission with Keith and Kolivan. He knew that Kolivan had a good sense of character, so he decided to give you the benefit of the doubt. While everyone else was eating dinner in the cafeteria, you were eating dinner alone in your habsuite, hoping that you would be able to fully trust the Blades.
