"You want me to be, what?"

In some kind of store, specifically in the baby section, Kobeni Higashiyama and Kishibe were seen shopping together. While they were looking through some selections of diapers, Higashiyama suddenly asked the experienced hunter a question that definitely caught his attention.

"I would like you to be the Godfather."

Once Kobeni repeated her question to the older man, a moment of silence fell between them, as he took a moment to process what he had just been asked.

"... Are you hitting on me?"

Once Kishibe finally understood the question, he couldn't help but ask his own to the Deviltrix, which immediately made her blush brightly in embarrassment.

"N-No! It's Not Like That!"

Kobeni quickly freaks out greatly as she tries to clear up that misunderstanding.

"Trust me, it's nothing like that."

Kobeni sighs and rubs her face, trying to calm herself down.

"Then why do you want me to be the Godfather?"

Kishibe, also slightly relieved, but was now curious on why he was suddenly offered the role of "Godfather".

"It's because I trust you."

Kobeni, once she had fully calmed down, gave her reason as to why she offered such a role to the experienced hunter.

"... Is that it?"

Kishibe, after expecting to hear more of an explanation, realized that was all the shape-shifter had to say to him.

"Do I need any more reason than that?"

Kobeni tilts her head in slight confusion for the older man.

"... Yes..."

"Oh."

Kishibe grumbles and rubs his temples, somewhat surprised at how clueless Kobeni could be sometimes.

"Don't you have other options?"

"I do have options."

"Then why not choose them?"

"Because I chose you."

"Ugh..."

Kishibe was starting to get a little frustrated from how simple minded Kobeni was acting right, wondering if she was doing it on purpose or not.

"Why not your family, like your brother or father?"

"No."

"Ok? What about your friends, like Aki?"

"He's too busy with Himeno."

"And you think I'm not?"

"I mean... You are here shopping for diapers with me."

"... Oh my god..."

Kishibe attempted to offer alternatives, hoping Higashiyama would be willing to pick someone else instead of himself. However, not only did she refuse every option given to him, but she even pointed out how he was still a perfect alternative for the role, due to his availability and freedom. This caused Kishibe to groan in disgruntlement.

"Ok, just tell me why specifically? I want a better reason than what you're giving me."

Kishibe just gave up and just decided to ask why again, hoping to get more information from the Deviltrix host this time.

"Because you managed to take care of me and deal with me when I first got the Deviltrix."

Which Kobeni does, and so far, what she said definitely caught the experienced hunter's attention.

"I know I can be pretty pathetic and hard to be around, but you still stuck around and helped me anyway."

Kobeni looks away shyly as she twiddle her fingers against one another, all while the older man continues to listen to her.

"I'm not saying I was hated or disliked by everyone else, I still have others I consider as friends, like the Violence Fiend: Galgali for example."

Kobeni then looked up at her used to be mentor, and just gave him a soft and warm expression.

"But if someone like you can deal with me at my lowest, then I have confidence you will be able to handle my kids."

Kobeni gave the experienced hunter a genuine smile, as if telling him how much trust she had in him, which he didn't really know how to take that revelation.

"Also, you're both strong and experienced, so they'll definitely be safe with you."

Kobeni also admits and knows how strong her mentor was, which only adds to the reason why she trusted and chose him.

"Of course, you don't have to accept the role of the Godfather, I'm just letting you know that you're my first pick, that's all."

Though at the end of the day, no matter how much Kobeni would like to have the older man as her godfather for her children, she wasn't forcing him to be one. It was his choice in the end, something he was thinking deeply about.

"... Do I get paid?"

After a moment of consideration, Kishibe suddenly asked the shape-shifter if he would be given compensation for the role of Godfather.

"Mhm, it's only fair."

Which Kobeni nods yes, not seeing a problem with it.

"Fine, I accept the offer, just don't expect me to be the perfect role model for them."

And with that, Kishibe just sighs in response, and in defeat, as he decides to just accept the offer given by Higashiyama.

"I understand."

This of course made Kobeni very happy.

"But since you are gonna be the Godfather to my babies~"

And once Kobeni had acquired a new Godfather, she didn't hesitate to grab his arms and dragged him away with her.

"You can help me pick out some cute clothes for them!~"

As Kobeni didn't hesitate to use and force the experienced hunter to help her find and buy many clothes and items for her babies.

'I am definitely too sober for this...'

Kishibe definitely wasn't up to this, wishing he was drunk for this part of his job, but he had no choice but to suck it up and let himself be dragged around by the Devilrix host.

'But at least this way, I can protect her children from Makima without suspicion, so I might as well take the opportunity while I have it.'

But despite Kishibe's reluctance, he knew this was probably the better outcome for them, not only to protect both the shape-shifter and her children, but also as a way to keep Makima away from them, or at the very least, make her behave when around them.

"Hey Kobeni? Are you Christian?"

However Kishibe decided to worry about that problem in the future, and instead focus on what's happening right now with Higashiyama.

"No, why?"

Kobeni, who paused holding many new baby clothes and items that she had just found, looked up at her mentor when he asked her a question.

"Then how do you know what a Godfather is?"

Kishibe was now confused again on how and why the Deviltrix knew what a "Godfather" even was.

"I've seen a movie about it, and I thought about you after seeing it~"

To which Kobeni casually admits where she knew and found such an idea, Kishibe struggled to hold back his groans as he rubbed his temples, trying his best not to get a headache dealing with such simple-minded answers.

"... You're a weirdo..."

"And you're the one taking care of the weirdo and her kiddies~"

I think it might be more accurate to have Kishibe be a "God Grandfather", lol, but yeah, expect Kishibe to be liked by a lot of alien kids, whether it be from Kobeni, or others~

(Off topic, I've decided to give characters full names, for example, Kishibe full name shall be "Kishibe Rohan", maybe, I'm open to suggestions)
