Wade Whipple was trying to lift some weights to be strong enough but was too heavy and was crushing him, thought he's going to die. Knuckles lifted the weights off of Wade. Knuckles and Gwen was looking down at him.

"Wade Whipple, this is no time for lying down. We come to you with the urgent need." Knuckles said, putting the weights away.

"How do you two get in here?" Wade asked curiously.

"A true warrior can conquer any stronghold not even the strongest barrier can contain his might" Knuckles pounded his chest.

"Came through the other window, huh." Wade said obviously as Knuckles and Gwen look back at the open window.

"Yes, yes we did." Gwen said.

"You seek to complete in the upcoming tournament of champions in Reno, Nevada, we will take you there this tournament is my destiny." Knuckles said with plead.

"I also want to come along, to find my true power of my ruby necklace, and make my own destiny." Gwen added

"Yeah, it was mine too until I lost my spot on the team." Wade said with disappointment.

"How? You were bested by a sworn enemy in trail by combat?" Knuckles asked.

"I was brutally trash talked by a eight year old girl named Susie, so yeah the same thing." Wade answered.

"And you do not wish to reclaim your honor?" Gwen asked.

"No I..I do...I wish to reclaim my honor back, it's just Jackson Clair was right. I'm not strong, I'm not tough, I'm not brave, I'm not warrior." Wade said in despair.

"But we are." Knuckles and Gwen said in unison.

"We can train you in a ways of the Echidna, teach you every form of lethal combat, show you the secrets to all our strengths." Knuckles said with confidence.

"And I can show you my secrets to gain bravery of the true warrior." Gwen added.

"Then I can use that to challenge Susie in a trial by bowling combat and earn my spot back on the team." Wade gained his confidence back.

"Yes." Knuckles and Gwen agreed.

"If you take us on this quest to Reno, we will make you a true warrior!" Gwen said with determination.

"As the great Echidna Chief Pachacamac did for me." Knuckles said.

"And Longclaw did for me as well to train me to become a warrior." Gwen added.

"Pachacamac? I think my sister went to sleep away camp there." Wade said.

"Our destiny awaits, Wade Whipple" Knuckles said in excitement. "Do we have an alliance?"

"Wait a minute."

Wade stands up.

"Didn't I hear you were grounded? There's no way you're allowed to leave home, right?" Wade reminded.

"Right?! That's why I've been saying him!" Gwen agreed with Wade.

"One cannot ground an Echidna warrior..." Knuckles bends the weight down with his strength. Gwen was in awe at that. "For an Echidna warrior has no home."

"Alright, that checks out! Let's do this! Destiny awaits!" Wade declared with excitement.

Knuckles then tosses Wade a bended weight, causing him to fall down with the weights on top of him.

"Let's go get 'em." he groaned, giving them thumbs up.

Gwen sighs and pulls the weight off of Wade.

They're on their way to Reno in the sheriff police car to make another road trip just like from the first movie of Sonic the Hedgehog, but this time it's Knuckles' turn with Gwen to complete a quest for training and complete their destiny.

"Alright, the warrior training road trip is officially official. Knucks. Can I call you Knucks?" Wade asked.

"No. Only Gwen can call me that." Knuckles stated, making Gwen blush.

"How about Knucky?" Wade asked again.

"No."

"Knuckington Bear?"

"No."

"Sir Knucks-A-Lot?"

Knuckles looks at him in annoyance.

"No."

"Knuck, knuck." Wade make a joke of his nickname. "Knuck, knuck. You gotta say, "Who's there?""

"Who's there?" Knuckles replied the joke.

"Knuckolas Cage." Wade said before laughing along with Gwen who giggles, making Knuckles playfully glare at her.

"Please stop." Knuckles told him.

"So, tell me a little about yourself." Wade asked with little detail. "You know, I-I know that you're an alien and that you're super powerful, and that you've recently saved the world with your friends and you got a girlfriend, et cetera, et cetera." he continued.

"Yeah it's a long story between us, even in secret when we were kids since our tribe were enemies back then." Gwen explained.

"Right, but let's dig a little deeper, you know? You have any hobbies?" Wade asked for more details.

"Honor." Knuckles stated.

"Honor is really more of a principle than a hobby." Wade said.

"Victory." Knuckles stated proudly.

"Maybe I should restate the question. What do you like to do for fun?" Wade asked again.

"Vengeance." Knuckles stated.

"Getting a little dark. I was thinking more like reading or... or or yoga... O-or music." Wade said, thinking more personally.

"Yes. Gwen and her brother spoke of this earth music. Tell me, what is it?" Knuckles wondered.

"Oh, I... I can't just tell you what it is. I have to... I have to—" Wade laughed as he tried to explain.

"Then turn on some of the music you like." Gwen suggested.

"Okay, I'll put on one of my classic Wade mixes." Wade said, turning on the radio.

Wade put on his mixes called "Can I Kick It?" by a tribe called Quest playing.

"Everyone at the station love these. I sent a link every Monday." Wade said before he start singing along with Gwen moving a beat to the mixes.

But Knuckles didn't get it as he raise his eyebrow at their singing for a moment. He then kicked the radio, causing it to get busted and fizzling. Wade and and Gwen mouth opened wide in shocked.

"Ha! Kicked!" Knuckles said.

"Not a music guy. Noted." Wade nodded.

Gwen gets worried if Knuckles was ever going to get used to Earth, but she knew things take time and she was also willing to learn more about her power of her ruby necklace one day.

Meanwhile in G.U.N Headquarters at London, two agents were tracking down two creatures that were outside of Green Hills as the name Knuckles and Gwen are on screen.

"Well, well, well. Looks like we've got two runners." Agent Willoughby said with a British accent.

A door opened to reveal another agent named Fairley to state a report.

"Agent Willoughby. We got a problem. It's a code red. Knuckles and Gwen has left the Green Hills zone. We have to inform Commander Walters." Agent Fairley said.

"Don't worry, Agent Fairley. I've been aware since the second they left town, and I'm in complete control of the situation." Willoughby reassured hin.

Agent Willoughby then cut the SAT surveillance offline from anyone to track down Knuckles and Gwen as the screens blacked out. Agent Fairley looks confused and worried.

"Uh...ma'am, you just took our SAT surveillance offline. There's no way anyone in HQ can track Knuckles and Gwen now.... Except you... with that device." Fairley said slowly in realization as he eyed at the tracker she's holding as she tapped something on the tablet.

Agent Mason rhen hold up the ring to open the portal just like Sonic does from the first and second movie. He open the portal to the Mushroom Planet where Eggman was banished to once.

"Uh...what's going on?" Fairley asked.

"Thank you for your work, Agent Fairley. You are dismissed." Agent Willoughby fired Agent Fairley as Agent Mason kicked him in his chest to the Mushroom Planet.

Agent Fairley screamed as he fell through the portal. Agent Mason saluted down at the trapped agent with a smile.

"I heard the Mushroom Planet is beautiful this time of year, my friend! Enjoy!" Agent Mason laughed as the portal closed.

"You're pretty proud of yourself for someone who just kicked an unsuspecting man in the chest." Agent Willoughby commented, unamused.

"Yeah, I am." Agent Mason said without regret.

"Right, come on. We've got work to do." Agent Willoughby ordered as the two walked off.

At the Buyer's lab, a man was working something like a most powerful weapon to create just like Robotnik until his phone started ringing, bothering his work. He takes off his mask to reveal a bearded man as he answers his call through his earphone.

"What is it? You're disturbing my work." he said in annoyance.

"We have a unique opportunity. Wanted you to be the first to know. Two of the aliens... has left Green Hills. They're in the wild." Agent Willoughby informed him.

"Which ones?" Buyer asked.

"Knuckles and Gwen." Agent Willoughby answered.

"Ah. The muscle and the brave. Knuckles' powers are exceptional. But Gwen's powers are mysterious and strange unknown, coming from her gem necklace to have such as power. But without their little friends, they're vulnerable." he said, pulling out a glass tube that is full of Knuckles' glowing red quill inside along with the others. "I've been scouring the world for these quills. They're the key to everything I'm building."

Buyer hold the quills up high.

"You can build an evil petting zoo for all I care. As long as you meet our price, we'll bring you the echidna and the girl hedgehog in 24 hours." Agent Willoughby said.

"Careful, Agent Willoughby. You'll need more than arrogance. I'm sending you something to even the odds. Something very special. Because anyone who goes against Knuckles or Gwen... better be ready for the fight of their lives." he continued as he opened a case full of guns with more tubes of Knuckles' quill as ammos as he put on a gauntlet that's filled with Knuckles' quills as it power up.

Two agents looked each other, looking forward to the fight and meeting those two creatures.

Back with Knuckles, Gwen and Wade on the warrior quest, Knuckles was eating grapes while Gwen was eating a bag of chips of Lay's Sour Cream & Onion because they were hungry along the way.

"Grapes and chips are interesting choices for, uh, someone who doesn't use their individual fingers." Wade commented, looking at them eating their snacks more at Knuckles mostly.

"That's fine Wade. We were just hungry, besides this trip could be a lot more fun than the last one I had with my brother and Tom for helping us." Gwen explained her last road trip while she's eating.

"Right, gotcha. Hey, when does the training sesh start? You know, is there some kind of official warrior training manual or a pamphlet of some kind? Maybe some literature I could get a look at?" Wade questioned how he gets trained to be a warrior.

"That the great Pachacamac once said, "You cannot train for battle without first knowing your battleground"." Knuckles told him.

This gave Wade an idea as he looked up at the billboard sign for the bowling alley called "Neon Nights".

"Hm... you wanna see my battleground. Get ready to have your mind blown. Knuckolas Cage." Wade said, calling him by the new nickname which made Gwen chuckle.

Before they knew it, they went inside the bowling alley where the people are having as they roll their bowling ball towards the pins.

"This is my battleground." Wade said proudly.

"This is not a place of battle. It is a playground for adult idiots." Knuckles stated as a man walked past them.

This made Gwen elbow Knuckles in the arm.

"Hey, stop it, Knucks. I think this is a battleground for fun and quite simple too."

"Okay, granted, the quests you're usually on might be a little more... high stakes. But trust me, many battles has been won and lost between these very lanes." Wade explained more about his "battleground".

"Yeah plus, bowling is a beautiful game." Gwen added that she loves bowling.

"Exactly. Come on, I'll show you."

Wade then showed them as he make the bowling ball to knock down the pins, giving him a perfect strike. In victory, he does a hand gesture to make an arrow while doing a violin.

Knuckles smashed the napkins hard with his fist to make a flat metal box as Wade eats the buffalo wings and Gwen drinks her soda, making the two look at Knuckles in disbelief.

"You smashed those pins with no mercy. I'm beginning to understand your interest in this game." Knuckles stated proudly and quite understandable.

"See? I told you bowling fun and a simple battle." Gwen smiled.

"Yeah. You know, there's another reason I love bowling so much. It's kind of a big reason. My dad." Wade said softly.

Knuckles and Gwen wonder about Wade's dad as he explains his story.

"See, my dad taught me everything I know about bowling. Taught me how to get the perfect spin on my shot. Taught me how to nail a 7-10 split. Taught me which Buffalo wings would give me indigestion and fill me with regret in the morning. He was the best bowler ever."

"What happened to him?" Knuckles and Gwen asked in unison with sadness.

"TJ Maxx." Wade answered.

"Is that the warrior who slayed him? A fearsome name indeed." Knuckles questioned.

"Actually Knucks, it's more like a discount department store." Gwen corrected him.

"That's right. One moment, we were in the men's department looking for warm-ups. Next moment, he was gone. He abandoned me. He abandoned my family. But, sometimes, when I'm between those lanes, it's like we're together again. Just playing my favorite game with my dad." Wade said, feeling sadness for being abandoned in childhood, and Knuckles and Gwen feel bad for him.

"So bowling is the thing that makes you feel at home in this world?" Knuckles asked.

"And that's why you stick around, so that you won't feel alone or abandoned?" Gwen asked, beginning to understand.

"Yeah, I guess it is." Wade answered them.

Techno music started, air horn blaring and disco ball light it up, making Wade get excited.

"On, awesome! We got here just in time! Come on!" he urged them.

The room then gets dark as the disco ball lights up to reveal glowing dots like stars.

"Amazing." Knuckles and Gwen said in unison and in awe.

"It glows with the power of a falling galactic-star." Knuckles commented, inspired by the lights.

"Actually, I think it's glowing with the power from the laundromat next door." Wade said.

"Well whatever it is, the lights are beautiful even in the dark it has never been more beautiful." Gwen said.

Wade takes out his bowling ball from the bag and hands it to Knuckles, who grasps a hold of it while looking at the ball curiously.

"Grasp it. Feel its power course through your ginormous hands. Take aim at your and...." Wade said, instructing him how to bowl.

After listening to his instruction before Wade could finish, Knuckles throws the ball at the pins, knocking them down and destroying them into bits as well. This left Wade and Gwen shocked at the destruction.

"What?!" Wade and Gwen exclaimed in unison.

"Knuckles, that was amazing! You're not bad for a bowler." Gwen said with excitement while Knuckles blushed at bit.

"We gotta get you to Reno, man! Wow! Jack Sinclair's gonna flip when he sees this. Yes." Wade added.

"It is nothing an apprentice like you cannot achieve in due time." Knuckles smiled in appreciation.

"You think I could do that?" Wade asked.

"Of course, Wade. I know you can do it. I have faith in you." Gwen said.

"Thanks for believing in me, guys. You know, most people think I'm just kind of a joke." Wade said sadly.

"You're not a joke, Wade." Gwen said, comforting him by patting his back.

"I do not make jokes, Wade Whipple. I make warriors" Knuckles comforted him with pride.

Standing in the Bowling Alley with Wade, Knuckles, and Gwen, a gateway ring opened. Together with their armor and weapons, Agent Mason and Willoughby exit. He clenches them into fists as Agent Mason raises his gauntlets. Gwen takes out her tessen, which Tails crafted for her, because she doesn't like where this is headed.

"What the devilry is this?" Knuckles questioned.

"Sorry, this lane is reserved." Wade said.

"What's up, Knucks?" Agent Mason grinned evilly and punched his fists.

"Hey! Only I can call him!" Gwen backed off Agent Mason, preparing to fight and so does Knuckles, glaring angrily.

"Okay, so this is because Knuckles is grounded, right?" Wade thought.

"Not now, Wade." Gwen scolded him.

"Who's the idiot?" Agent Mason asked, referring to Wade.

"Does it matter?" Agent Willloughby asked, not caring about Wade.

Willoughby then fires her gun.

"Get down!!"

Knuckles and Gwen tackled Wade down to dodge the blasts as the people screamed and took cover while running away.

"I get it! Rules are rules! If he's grounded, don't let me get in the way of disciplining him!" Wade yelled as he hides.

Knuckles and Gwen faces the agents.

"Don't try anything, echidna. You're coming with us, and so does the female light blue hedgehog for that mysterious power from her necklace." Agent Willloughby warned them.

"I don't think so!" Gwen glared, gripping onto the tessen.

Knuckles' eyes glows red and he holds his fists as they get powered up.

"You think you can take my power?!"

He curls into a ball and lunges at Agent Mason, who lunges back. When the two hurl fists at each other, a red shockwave is produced when they connect. Glancing up, Gwen shields her eyes from the intense light. Her eyes widen in recognition as she sees Agent Mason grinning at Knuckles and effortlessly holding back Knuckles' punch.

"Do I look like I need your power?" Agent Mason asked.

Agent Willoughby stands next to him.

"What are you talking about? Of course we need his power." she stated.

Agent Mason sighs in annoyance that his moment was blown off as he leans his head down and back.

"It's the whole reason we're here, to take his power and sell it for lots and lots of money." she added.

"I know that! I was just trying to have a cool catchphrase moment until you—" Agent Mason said.

As a result, Gwen and Knuckles gave them a serious glare. Gwen recognized a resemblance between Robotnik and their weaponry. Knuckles pushes Agent Mason back, sending him flying.

Knuckles and Gwen stand side by side to each other for another round as Willloughby aims her gun at them.

"Look alive!" she said before firing at them.

Knuckles and Gwen dodges the blasts before Gwen throws her tessen at Agent Willoughby as it spins around like a boomerang and hits her by the back of her head, distracting her. Gwen takes advantage and charges forward and breaks her gun by karate chopping it with the power of the ruby. Agent Willoughby looks down at her broken gun and uses it still to fight Gwen as she swings it around at her, which Gwen dodges it by backflipping. Gwen goes to attack when Agen Willoughby quickly acts before her and tases her in the chest, making her scream in pain.

"Knuckles!!" Wade shouted, seeing Gwen in danger before rolling two bowling balls to Knuckles.

Knuckles tosses them up in the air for a bit before throwing one at Agent Willoughby's broken gun, saving Gwen's life and then throwing another at Agent Willoughby's armored chest, knocking her down as she roll around on the ground. Knuckles rushes to Gwen's aid to check up on her.

Glaring, Agent Willoughby takes out her dual gun and fires it at the ground next to her to bounce herself up in the air and firing it at Knuckles and Gwen. Gwen somehow summons her red shield as soon as she sees her shooting to block the blasts, protecting herself and Knuckles. Then they jump over Agent Willloughby to fight her when Agent Mason, after he got up, punched the floor to bounce Knuckles and Gwen into the air and punches them to the pins. Knuckles saves himself by dragging his spiked gloves to the floor and grabs Gwen by the arm to save her from getting hit against the pins.

"Yeah! I thought you'd be tougher, Knucks!" Agent Mason grinned evilly.

"I told you, don't call him that! Only me!" Gwen shouted, getting up and fighting him as she roundhouse kicked him while Knuckles fight against Agent Willloughby.

When they keep fighting the GUN agents, they keep getting beat down as they struggled to dodge and block their attacks.

"Wade! Do something!" Knuckles shouted, blocking the blasts with his gloves.

"We could really use some backup!" Gwen added, blocking Agent Mason's punches.

"I don't know how! This is a battleground!" Wade said, not knowing how to fight.

Gwen then managed to deflect the blast towards Agent Willoughby through her red shield to knock her away. Knuckles then fight against Agent Mason as the two slammed their fists against each other, struggling to push each other down until he managed to remove the gauntlets from Agent Mason and punched him towards the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles arcade. Knuckles dropped the gauntlets down to the floor as Gwen turned to Knuckles.

"Fools! You thought you could kidnap us?" Knuckles' eyes glows red and he punches his fists as they get powered up again and they walk towards him.

Agent Willloughby and Agent Mason gets up slowly. Then she fires the ring portal right below them. Gwen notices and was about to react but it was too late as soon as Knuckles was about to finish his words.

"I'm an echidna-- Whoa!"

Knuckles and Gwen fell into their cages as they tried to escape by punching their way out, only for it bounce back at them and knocking them out.

"Right, let's go. We got them." Agent Willloughby said, walking away with Agent Mason, who got up and followed after her.

"Cool. But, to be clear, you didn't save me. I sacrifice myself. Which created a distraction, which resulted in a diversion, which..." he said, trying to explain when he was met by unamused Agent Willoughby. "Alright, let's call it a team effort."

After the agents left, Wade gets up and looks around the damages in the bowling alley before his eyes and mouth widen in realization.

"Oh no. Oh no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. They have Knuckles and Gwen, and it's all my fault. I have to do something. I have to help them. I....."

Wade then saw the gauntlets that Agent Mason had and got an idea on how to save them.

"....have an incredibly dumb idea." he finished with determination.
