Late in the night, Agent Willoughby and Agent Mason drive deep in the night to deliver Knuckles and Eve to the specific location. Soon, they arrive at a large building that looks like an old resort hotel. There's a sign that reads 'Ice Cap Ski Resort.'

Agent Mason says, "Ice Cap Ski Resort. This is where the buyer wants to do the exchange?"

"He makes the rules, not us," Agent Willoughby says, "Right, help me unload the hedgehog and the echidna."

Mason opens the trunk so they can unload their cargo.

Unknown to them, down the road, Wade drives in his police car to the resort hotel with Jazz sitting shotgun. Once they arrive, Wade parks the car and turns off the lights so the agents don't spot them.

"Alright, little buddies. I'm coming for ya," Wade says, and sighs. He taps the wheel and says, "Come on, Wade. You can do this. You might not be a warrior yet, but you are a deputy. In fact, you're one of the greatest deputies in the history of law enforcement. And normally, in a situation like this, you'd call for backup. But this is Montana, so... you are the backup," and sighs, " Rely on your instincts. Think back to your police training. You are prepared for this."

And Wade's mind flashbacks to when he watches television about one man saving another man from getting hit by a car. The man who rescue the other brings out his gun and shoots at the car, but it got away.

The man says to the other, "Don't ever say I wasn't there for you."

"Cool line," Past Wade says.

"Chao?" Jazz questions

Back to reality, Wade turns to Jazz and says, "I am extremely unprepared for this."

Meanwhile, Knuckles and Eve still find themselves trapped in some forcefield cage with no way out. They both look around to find themselves in a dark room of some kind. It's hard to make out.

Knuckles demands, "Where have you taken us? A dungeon? A torture chamber?! A pit so deep that no one will ever hear our screams?"

"I highly doubt it," Eve says.

Suddenly, someone brings out a remote and presses it, turning on the lights to find themselves in the resort's lobby. There are tables, chairs, couches, some furniture, a fireplace, and other decor like deer antlers and paintings. No torture chamber and all that.

"Oh. That's quite nice, actually," Knuckles replies.

"A resort hotel?" Eve questions.

"Damn right," Mason says, "Always pictured myself living in a place like this one day. Now, I don't know how to ski, but with a house like this, you bet I could learn."

Eve crosses her arms in response.

Back outside in his car, Wade is trying to think of a plan, "All you have to do is sneak into the bad guy's lair, try not to get yourself killed by their superpowered weapons, and then save your cool new best friend and Tom's kid. What could possibly go wrong?" and turns to Jazz.

"Chao...?" Jazz questions.

Wade sighs and says to himself, " Come on, Wade. What would Knuckles do?" He'd come up with an awesome rescue plan."

Back in the hotel resort, Knuckles has his eyes closed and says, " Ah... I am visualizing my inevitable escape and your brutal destruction at my hands," He laughing maniacally, "Yes! Your arms have just snapped off with the most satisfying crunch."

"Well, it's a good thing you're trapped inside that case then, buddy," Mason says and laughs back.

"Oh brother," Eve says, rolling her eyes.

Soon, Willoughby walks in and sternly says, "Stop talking to him!"

"He was talkin' to me," Mason points out.

"About you both stop talking," Eve says, annoyed.

Then Willoughby says, "Just stop talking."

"Fine with me. I'm gonna go relax. Job's done, and we about to get paid!" Mason says and takes his leave as he laughs and claps his hand.

Agent Willoughby scoffs, "Americans."

Meanwhile, Wade walks into a store with Jazz flies from behind.

With that, Wade comes up with a plan, "Alright. Wade's awesome rescue plan starts now. Step one, project confidence. He then grabs black sunglasses and places them on his face.

Curious, Jazz decides to do it too.

And in Wade's mind, he drives what appears to be a red spy car as he wears a tuxedo.

"Step two, become one with the shadows," Wade adds.

In Wade's mind, he does cartwheels and opens the junction box of the hotel.

To fight the rising odds?

He then hotwire the box so that the hotel's lights will go out.

Song:

Isn't there a white knight upon a fiery steed?

Then, once in the hotel, Wade pours some black liquid, probably oil on the floor. Then he waits as the agent looks around the area.

And I dream of what I need

Wade then throws the plastic bottle to get his attention. Mason turns to see Wade down the hall.

Mason tries to run towards him, but slips on the oil, "Whoa! Whoa!"

And he's gotta be fresh from the fight

Wade then steps to the side and Mason falls down after getting hit by Wade's arm, and continues sliding on the oil down the hall. And for some reason, Wade slides behind him.

"Step three... lock and load," Wade adds.

In reality, Wade is trying to buy some materials like hair spray, a lighter, and other essentials. Jazz then brings out a basket that has some stuff inside.

In Wade's spy dream, he uses too much dental floss to sneak down to the lobby where Willoughby is guarding the prisoners. Wade soon reaches the ground floor. Then uses a lighter and hairspray as a flamethrower and fires at Willoughby. Soon, it's revealed that her hair spread and is messed up, and she got burned.

Back in reality, Wade soon opens the curtains to see fireworks and rockets.

"Step four, the grand finale," Wade concludes.

And in Wade's fantasy, he manages to rescue Knuckles and Eve. then jumps out of the building and lands on the ground with a perfect circle.

"You are truly an amazing warrior, Wade Whipple. Now, as is tradition, let us celebrate our victory with a warm hug," Knuckles says.

"I thought you'd never ask," Wade says.

With that, the two hugs and fireworks are launched in the air as the celebration continues.

In reality, Wade is hugging the fireworks as Jazz looks a bit confused.

The cashier asks, "Anything else?"

Wade places the item down and says, "Gimme a blue raspberry Icee."

Then Jazz comes in, "Chao chao!" and brings out a bottle of apple juice.

Then Wade says, "And a bottle of apple juice."

Jazz smiles in response.

Wade then gets himself a drink and drinks the Icee in front of the cash register.

Back in the ski resort lobby, Knuckles and Eve are still trapped in the forefield.

Knuckles says, "Oh, how your screams are a symphony to my ears as I crush your skulls into a fine powder, and-"

"Are you finished trying to antagonize her?" Eve questions, a bit bored.

"No," Knuckles says.

"Well stop, it's annoying," Eve says.

Then Willoughby questions, "Sorry. Don't mean to interrupt, but, uh, you almost finished here?"

"No!" Knuckles answers and punches the ground.

After a moment of silence, Knuckles says, "Okay. Now, I am finished."

Willoughby sits up and says, "Do you know, I'm sorry we haven't gotten a chance to get to know each other yet. I'm actually quite an admirer of your work."

"What could you possibly know about my life of battles and quests?" Knuckles questions.

" Oh..." Willoughby responds and says, "I know all about you, Knuckles. Both you, and Eve. Studying creatures like you, your abilities, where you're from. That was my job for a long time."

"I see," Knuckles says, "Then, you know about my tribe's victory over the vile Dr. Robotnik!"

"Of course," Willoughby says.

"So, if you know how we destroyed someone as dangerous as him, then you know how easily I can destroy someone like you," Knuckles says.

"Is that what you think? That I'm nothing?" Willoughby responds, "That I'm no one compared to the great Ivo Robotnik. Well, let me assure you, you're wrong. 'Cause while I know everything about you, I promise, you know nothing about me. But when this is all over... you will."

Eve sternly says, "You're going to get away with this. You think this G.U.N is going to be okay about you and your partner selling us."

"Hmm, what they don't know won't hurt," Willoughby says.

"Yeah... personally I think you should be more worried about Robotnik," Eve says.

"And why do you say that? Robotnik is dead after you and your brother ultimately defeated him" Willoughby questions.

"Call it intuition. Robotnik is a brilliant scientist, and he managed to survive the Mushroom Planet where Sonic and I sent him to before he was able to get back," Eve says.

"I do agree that Robotnik is smart, and evil, however, he hasn't yet made his return. Many suspected that he perished in the last battle," Knuckles says.

"I know, but part of me still has this feeling that he's still alive," Eve says.

Then turns to Willoughby, "Even if it might not be the case, G.U.N might not agree to your plan."

"Perhaps..." Willoughby says and approaches Eve, "You know, you're quite a unique being. Judging by your appearance, you seem to have traits of both a hedgehog and an echidna, and yet, despite the knowledge I've already have, G.U.N seems very intrigued about you."

"Me...?" Eve questions.

"Why would they be interested in Eve?" Knuckles questions.

"I'm not sure about all the details, but I've got some... information that while going through Robotnik's date to remove them, they found an interesting file that's been dated to over fifty years..." Willoughby says.

Eve is shocked, "Fifty years..." She can't help but ask, "What... what was it..."

"Coordinate to a secret research facility. However, that's all the information I was able to gather, but from what I was able to gather, they managed to connect it to you. Whatever they're trying to hide, they want to be extra vigilant towards you," Willoughby says.

Eve is shocked to hear what Willoughby has told her. For some reason, the fifty-year-old file for a secret research facility is connected to her for some reason. And maybe deeper, is connected to her past.
