Sometime later, Knuckles and Eve are both sitting in the room, serving their grounding as they relax in their rooms, feeling a bit tired from the long journey they have for the bowling tournament.

"It appears we're not going to go on training and adventuring for a while," Knuckles says.

"That's what happens when we decide to sneak out and go adventuring. Well, it's what you kind of get. I got grounded because I've decided to help you with your training and without letting them know much about it," Eve says.

"Well, the best we can do is take our grounding with honor and well, we do need to think of our actions," Knuckles says.

"Yeah. And we're going to be stuck in here for two weeks and need to take care of the yard work," Eve says, and flops on her bed, "Ugh, being stuck in here is going to be boring."

"Maybe so, but I'm sure there is something we can do to pass our time of punishment," Knuckles says and tries to think.

Eve also tries to think of what they can do.

Eve turns to Knuckles, "Hey Knuckles, I've always been curious about something."

"What is it?" Knuckles asks.

"Well, I was wondering, what was your like?" Eve asks.

"My kind?" Knuckles questions.

"Well yes," Eve says, "Ever since I've learned about me actually being part Echidna, and getting to know you a bit, I'm curious to know about how you Echidna live, because I've never interacted with them before. You're the only one I've met, kind of..."

"What do you mean, 'Kind of'?" Knuckles asks.

Eve explains, "I didn't have time to tell you or the others, but before the final round of the bowling tournament, while Wade was talking to his mom, I uh, saw something... the visit was a bit blurry, but I somehow saw two different beings. One of them seems to be human, the other, well, it was difficult for me to make out, but it looks a bit like an Echidna."

This shocked Knuckles, and then asks, "Are you certain?"

"Like I said, I'm not sure. The vision was blurry, and the man called her Tikal," Eve says.

"Anything else you remember?" Knuckles asks.

"Not much, but she was talking on how this is the only way, and said that it was a difficult decision, but it's the only way to protect someone, and carry the bloodline," Eve says, "She then says how grateful she is, and about how her clan, her species are in trouble and endanger of dying out, and plans to prevent it from happening, and wants to be sure her daughter is safe. She then lowers her head, "I don't know if she's referring to me, but I felt as though I have a strong connection with her."

"Sounds to me that this Tikal was worried when our kind was dying out, due to our war against the owls," Knuckles says, "However, I've never heard the name Tikal among my clan. It's possible she's from a neighboring tribe."

"Really?" Eve asks.

"It's possible," Knuckles answers.

He then asks, "Is there anything else you can remember?"

Eve shakes her head in response.

"I understand. And you wish to learn more about my tribe, yes?" Knuckles replies.

"Yep," Eve says.

"Well, it's quite a story about our kind and my tribe. As you've learned, the Echidnas are a warrior tribe who's been battling the owls who have taken the Master Emerald and hidden it away," Knuckles says.

"Yes. I remember, and Sonic's guardian was one of them, and knew where the Master Emerald was hidden. That's why your tribe went after her," Eve says.

"Yes. That's correct. Long Claw was the last of the Owl Warriors," Knuckles says.

Saddened, Knuckles explains, "It happened when I was a child. I wish to join in the battle with my father's side, but wished for me to remain here until my true moment. However, he never returned after that day, Not Chief Pachacamac, no one returned.

Eve is sad to hear it as well.

Knuckles continues, "After my village was destroyed, I've decided to avenge my father and my tribe, but finding the Master Emerald. I've spent my life searching all over the galaxy for a sign. Of course, I've learned that Sonic the Hedgehog was raised by Longclaw, and believed that he may be the key to finding the Master Emerald, so I've gone to search for him. It has taken me many years to locate him."

"That must have been so hard," Eve says, sadly.

"Yes, it was. My journey was a very hard one. I've traveled from planet to planet, and fought off many enemies, testing my strength and power, defeating any opponent. One of them I've battled against is a giant Fire Demon, "Knuckles says.

Dumbfounded, Eve says, "A Fire Demon?"

"Yes. I've confronted the demon in order to harness the demon's Flame of Disaster to further my quest. I've tried to battle against the demon, but it overpowered me with powerful fire attacks. I was down. The demon dares to mock me, calling me weak. The demon planned to finish me off with its lightning bolt, but I've come to learn that the true power of being a warrior is from within, from the heart. That gave me the power to obtain the Flame of Disaster from the demon, and used its own power to defeat it. The fate of the monster is unknown, but I suspect that it will never be heard from again."

"Wow. That's really incredible," Eve says, surprised and amazed, "And you were very determined to avenge your people, and to find the emerald used to belong to your kind."

"Yes. Of course, my journey continues on as I continue to search for the Appearance of Longclaw. Sonic, of course. More time has passed, and I've found myself escaping from a volcanic explosion, and I fell into the raven," Knuckles says.

"Oh my," Eve says, surprised.

"When I woke up, I found myself being held in a place called Casino Night being forced to participate in a fighting arena against a giant alien monster," Knuckles explains, "The monster dragged me by the shackle, but I managed to break free. And I was able to use my Chaos Energy to defeat the monster in a single blow. That is when I realized that I needed some assistance, and enlisted the help of the scavengers who have found me. After some time, we've managed to track something at the Hill Top Zone, but realized we've followed the wrong Target."

Then turns to Eve, "I've later learned that it was Tails and Jazz who I've tracked."

"And I'm guessing not long after that, you've ended up finding Robotnik on the Mushroom Planet," Eve suspects.

"Yes," Knuckles answers, "When we first encountered each other, Robotnik tried to charge through the portal, but ended up making my Knuckles."

Eve stifles her laughter to hear it, "He ended up ramming into your fist?" and giggles in response.

"Yes. And of course, you know how the rest of the story played out," Knuckles says.

Eve chuckles, "How can I forget? Sonic and I met Tails and Jazz, along with you and saw Robotnik again. And ended up having a race and battle for the Master Emerald. And we haven't seen Robotnik since."

"You are correct," Knuckles says, "And now all of us are living here with Tom and Maddie in their household."

"Yeah," Eve says.

"Still, it must have been hard for you to be traveling alone for years," Eve says, still saddened.

"Yes. It was," Knuckles says, "But... I have you, Sonic, Tails, Jazz, Tom, Maddie, and even Ozzy now. And now, I have Wade, his family, and I also have found my home and place in this world."

Eve smiles, "Yeah. I'm glad too," as she walks over and sits next to Knuckles on the bed.

Knuckles sighs and lies down on his bed, "Still, that was quite the quest we've had."

"Yeah. Especially since we've done a lot since. We've gone bowling, got kidnapped by G.U.N. Agents, we've battle hitmen in Wade's family home, having to battle the agents again in the penthouse, almost getting sucked into Warp Rings, having to battle against a crazy man with a mech suit, and having a long ride home," Eve says, "I say that's about sums it up."

"Yes. It was," Knuckles says.

"But we've managed to handle it," Eve says.

"I agree. You were very well yourself," Knuckles says, feeling a bit bashful.

Eve blushes a bit, and smiles, "Re-Really?"

"Yes. You've shown that you are quite the warrior. Of course, you still have plenty to learn about becoming an Echidna warrior, well, mainly our history," Knuckles says.

Eve giggles, "Yeah. That's true."

Knuckles blushes with a smile, "Still, you're very strong, independent, and kind..."

"Thank you, Knuckles. Despite being strong, and well, being a bit of a hard head, you've got a great heart," Eve says.

Knuckles smiles towards Eve, "Thank you. Eve," and sits up to face Eve.

"You're welcome, Knuckles," Eve says.

The two soon look at each other with smiles on their faces.

Suddenly, Sonic rushes in, "Hey guys, I've brought you two some dinner and..." but notices Knuckles and Eve are sitting together, and close to each other, "Ugh..."

Knuckles and Eve turn to see Sonic.

"Oh uh, hi Sonic," Eve says, blushing a bit.

"Sonic, uh, we uh, didn't hear you," Knuckles says, still flustered.

Sonic smirks, "Well, not long after getting grounded and you're already starting to get close. Well, from the looks of it, the little trip out of grounding seems to bring you both closer."

Knuckles and Eve blushes, and turn away, feeling flustered.

Sonic laughs and says, "Well, since you two are getting all lovey dovey, you two can make this into a romantic dinner with this."

Then place the food on the table, "Have a good evening you two," He then takes his leave as he laughs with smiles on their faces.

Eve sighs and says, "Oh, that brother of mine."

"I find his mockery of us quite annoying," Knuckles says, annoyed.

"I have to agree," Eve says.

She then smiles, "Still, I like to hear more of your stories."

"Eve, I will be honored to hear more stories of my tribe and my adventures," Knuckles says.

And with that, Knuckles and Eve begin having their dinner as Knuckles shares Eve stories of his family, his home, and his journey of visiting different worlds and places.

Despite everything that has happened. It showed that the adventure ended up bringing both Knuckles and Eve a little closer.
