Ochako sits beside Tsu in the stands wondering why Iida had run off so suddenly but her thoughts are cut short as there's a loud buzzer over the stadium. Looking up she sees the jumbotron displaying the tournament bracket strike out Iida's name with a red line much like the other combatants who lost their matches. She then sees Iida's name card get widened on the screen and underneath it displays the word "Withdrawal" before it shrinks back to its original placement. Todoroki's name progresses forwards meaning that the final match will be Izuku vs Todoroki. "Why did Iida withdraw from the tournament? What happened?" She asks but all Tsu can do is just shrug. Ochako pulls out her phone and tries texting him but she never gets an answer, and he doesn't even pick up when she attempts to call him as well. "He read something on his phone and then ran off, he was crying too." Ochako says which alerts the rest of her classmates, sans Katsuki and Izuku who still aren't there.

"Hold on, what?! What the hell could've upset him so much?" Sero asks, "Why'd he leave?"

"I don't know but, it's probably a family emergency. It would be best if we don't try to pry into this." Yaoyorozu says but it does little to alleviate the nervous tension from the group of students. "He'll let us know if or when he's ready to. For now let's just root for Midoriya, he's come extremely close to winning the sports festival, and the only fight he has left is against Todoroki."

Almost an hour and a half later, Izuku is finally released from Recovery Girl's care and returns to the field. With his return, Present Mic wastes no time in getting the show on the road. "Ladies and Gentlemen! Boys and Girls, and all of our viewers feast your eyes on the Final Round!" He shouts causing the crowd to come back to life, the words "plus ultra" echo through the arena as he speaks. "Our first combatant has a quirk so powerful that his other combatants believe it might even be One for All. His quirk even revealed a new power of his in the previous match! Coming to the ring for the final time today, it's the Mean Green Killing Machine, Give it up for Izuku Midoriyaaaaa!!!" Izuku bashfully waves to the crowd as he walks to the ring, even from the stands his friends can tell that he's nervous for this final match. "Our other combatant is the son of our Number Two ranked pro hero Endeavor! His icy powers have been unmatched through his entire tournament performance. These two were teammates in the second round and his quirk trivialized the obstacle course and the cavalry battle! Here he comes, ready to battle the strongest man in 1-A, give it up for Shouto Todoroki!!!" Shouto started walking while Mic was in the middle of his announcement, and his stride is a bit more confident than Izuku's. However the look on his face is determined but reserved, internally he is anxious about facing off against The holder of One for All.

Izuku swallows a bit of anxiety in the back of his throat before taking a deep breath and stepping up the stairs into the ring. On the other side of the ring, he sees Todoroki with a neutral expression on his face walk up the stairs, each step feeling like it echoes over the roaring crowd. He barely hears Midnight's voice silencing the crowd, his heartbeat is deafening in his ears but he hears her re-explain the rules to him and Todoroki. Calming his anxiety, he allows the familiar sensation of One for All to flow through him. Electricity runs across his skin and arcs into the air, red veins filled with power illuminate under his skin and his eyes begin to glow. "Full Cowling, 25%." He monologues internally. Across from him he sees Todoroki exhale before shifting his weight forwards, the breath leaving his mouth is now visible as he charges the icy portion of his powers. Midnight lifts her whip above her head causing both fighters to tense their muscles ready for the fight. "Begin!" She shouts, thrusting her arm forwards and cracking the leather tails on her short whip.

Much in the same way that he started the match against Sero, Todoroki immediately creates an entire glacier of ice, projecting it forwards towards Izuku. The ice grows even taller than the opening of the stadium and almost hits the crowd behind where Izuku was standing. Before it can get to it's full size, Todoroki feels four impacts against the ice he had created, it suddenly shatters, exploding into shards of ice that fly through the air. The air is filled with shattered ice crystals and mist twinkle as they reflect light back into the audience. The destroyed ice scattering across the ring and through the grass surrounding the field. The emergency barrier around the crowd had activated in time to prevent any of the icy shrapnel from impacting the audience. Todoroki looks at Izuku with wide eyes, the green haired successor of All Might grins ear to ear, having struck the glacier four times in rapid succession blowing apart one of Todoroki's strongest attacks. Izuku stands confidently now, with his rear arm slightly forwards and relaxed after having thrown the punches.

Todoroki doesn't have time to recognise what Present Mic is saying about the fight taking place, as he sees the light of Izuku's glowing eyes intensify for a moment before he appears to become transparent before fading entirely. Just his movement at 25% of One for All had created a sonic boom, shattering the ice that had collected on the ground and turning it instantly to steam. Seeing his opponent vanish fills him with fear, and as the adrenaline floods his system, time seems to slow down for him. Izuku suddenly appears behind him with his right arm cocked back ready to deliver a punch to his back and Todoroki can do nothing to prevent it from happening. A second sonic boom happens when Izuku drops his speed, the shockwave causing Todoroki to stumble over before Izuku throws the punch. The 25% power strike doesn't connect with Todoroki's body, but the compressed air force of the attack does. Air speeds faster than the winds in Jupiter's Great Spot slam into Todoroki forcing him to skid along the ice towards the other side of the ring where Izuku had started. From his right hand, ice collects over his fingers forming claws as he sinks his fingers into the ice and concrete in order to stop himself from being thrown out of the ring.

"Todoroki tried to open the match with overwhelming power but it looks like he's the one being overwhelmed! Midoriya has only thrown 5 punches and already almost rung out his opponent! He's only been relying on his ice powers, but I don't think this will be enough to answer Midoriya's sheer power!" Present Mic's words echo through the stadium and Izuku can tell that Todoroki gets angry when this is mentioned.

"Are you going to take this fight seriously?" Izuku asks, "You're only using half of your power." He says causing Todoroki to create another shelf of ice, this time the spiked icicles are aimed directly for him but Izuku slices his hand in front of him and destroys the ice shelf in a single swing.

"Easy for you to say, I know you're holding back too." He hisses, some ice starting to climb up the side of his face. "So I don't wanna hear that crap from you. Especially when you're holding back more than I am."

"I'm not." Izuku says, but Todoroki furrows his brow, and creates even more ice as he launches it again at him. This time Izuku blitzes through the ice shelf then jabs Todoroki in the stomach with an incredibly fast punch. The impact causes Todoroki to vomit as he is thrown clear to the otherside of the ring. "I'm using everything that I can use, because if I use too much I'll shatter my arms and rip apart my muscles. I'm not strong enough to use my quirk's full power but you're intentionally holding back just because you think your fire is your father's quirk."

"That's because it is!" Todoroki shouts as he scrapes his hand along the ice, launching an entire mountain's worth of ice at Deku this time. "I refuse to use that bastard's flames, that power isn't mine, that power is his obsession, the entire reason why I'm alive in the first place is his obsession with All Might. I couldn't even enjoy meeting All Might for the first time, because my father forced me to ask him to choose me as his successor and I refuse to live in either of their shadows!" He shouts, the frigid temperatures now causing Izuku to breath out mist and even some of the audience members.

"If you're worried about being in their shadow your whole life..." Izuku says as his power jumps up to 32%, his hair begins to stand upwards, as electricity arcs off his eyes and into the air. His muscles bulge up slightly and he even looks slightly taller as he uses more power. He smiles confidently before he speaks. "Then outshine them." This sentence causes Todoroki's eyes to widen in shock but that shock turns to fear once again as Izuku vanishes then appears right in front of him breaking the sound barrier again. His glowing green eyes and wide grin oddly make him even more terrifying than if he would've had an angry expression or a neutral one. Todoroki has a fraction of a second to protect himself from this attack, and he uses it to create a massive ball of ice around his body freezing himself to the ground and in over a meter of ice. The punch connects with the icy ball covering Todoroki, shattering pieces of ice off of it but it remains intact as Todoroki repairs it from the inside. Narrowing his expression, Izuku plants both feet on the ground before drawing both arms backwards and unleashing hundreds of punches in the matter of seconds. Each impact is as strong as the last, hitting the same areas around the ice sphere instantly turning layers and layers of ice to steam. Inside it, Todoroki shields his face with both arms crossed over him, as punch after punch slams into his shield. He shuts his eyes tightly, trying to hold out as long as he can, but he feels the heat of the afternoon sun piercing through a crack that has formed in the ice. Overusing his ice quirk causes him to shiver violently as he tries to generate more and more ice to prevent Izuku from defeating him. However, the frigid feeling of his ice powers suddenly vanishes, and he stops shivering and this feeling of suddenly warming up alarms him.

Hypothermia, a syndrome that the human body experiences when the body temperature falls below 35 degrees celsius. Extreme hypothermia is below 30 degrees, and where Todoroki is right now is almost 27 degrees in his core. Severe hypothermia causes the body's autonomic functions to begin to cease. Its first warning sign is a sudden warm feeling as the body gives up trying to keep the warm blood around the internal organs, allowing it to flow back to the extremities giving the sensation of warming up. Following this, is loss of consciousness as the body temperature plummets and parts of the body begin freezing. As this sensation washes over Todoroki, he brings his hands to his face and sees that the tips of his fingers are beginning to turn blue. He feels an overwhelming tired sensation begin trying to take hold, and if he doesn't use his fire soon he'll lose consciousness and potentially even his fingers from frostbite created by his own powers. Left with no other option, he exhales and tenses his face as he gives in.

From outside of the sphere of ice, Izuku slams his fist into it once more causing the entire side of the icy dome to be blown off before it suddenly erupts in flames forcing Izuku to back off. Izuku darts back creating as much distance between him and Todoroki as possible, as the temperature just went from the dead of winter to half a foot away from a roaring bonfire in less than a second. Izuku grins seeing Todoroki finally use his flames, as the sphere of ice rapidly melts away revealing Todoroki's face. "You know what Midoriya? You're right." He says as he flares his flames outwards even hotter than before, "I won't be doing this to be better than All Might, or Endeavor. I'm doing this for me, to find out who I am, not who I'm supposed to be." He says with a similar smile on his face. "Let's see if you can handle my full power, with only part of yours." The flames grow brighter and brighter causing Izuku to smile wider at the challenge and that he helped Todoroki accept this part of himself. Deku shifts into a runner's stance and charges One for All as high as he can go without breaking himself, 32 percent, 34 percent, 38 percent... 43 percent. His muscles scream at him that it is too much power, but the most growth comes from when you're the most uncomfortable.

"Uh... Aizawa, Mic?! They're gonna destroy the ring!" She shouts as the fire gets so intense that her spandex is beginning to melt. "We need to call off the match!" She shouts, turning her attention to Cementoss.

Todoroki rears back with his flaming arm causing the fire to flicker blue and white as it's being produced from his skin. Izuku lunges forwards creating a shockwave that shatters the entire ring where he's standing. Todoroki himself blasts fire and ice through his feet trying to close the distance between the two of them. From outside of the ring, Midnight sprays her pheromones through the melted holes in her hero costume as Cementoss uses his quirk to cause the concrete to grow towards the ring. As the two fighters near each other, five walls of concrete grow from the ring in an attempt to stop the clash. Todoroki raises his left hand up and outwards pointing it towards Izuku as Deku himself flips and thrusts his leg forwards launching a kick towards Todoroki. As they were about to make contact with each other the walls of concrete are erected from the ring causing a massive explosion at the point of impact. The concrete is almost atomized by the sheer power of One for All, and the flames melt it to lava and slag. The shockwave launches debris and concrete blocks weighing hundreds of pounds into the barrier protecting the audience.

A cloud of smoke fills the ring, obscuring both fighters but they can still see the glowing power of One for All arcing off of Izuku's skin and Todoroki's flames within the ring. Suddenly through the top of the smoke, the black tendrils erupt outwards completely blowing the smoke away revealing the two fighters. From Izuku's hands, half a dozen black whips leach outwards before launching into the grass grabbing massive stones before lifting them upwards. Aizawa, Mic, All Might, Midnight and the entirety of students in UA watch in awe as Izuku yanks the black whips towards himself. The stones they grabbed are yanked upwards before being pulled in towards where Todoroki is standing. This forces the half hot half cold quirk user to use both sides of his quirk to prevent from getting hit by the massive blocks of concrete. Flames explode outwards on Todoroki's left, melting the blocks to lava and the ice on his right shatters the concrete. From his palms, more black whips explode forwards right for Todoroki who's standing wide open. He tries to use a wall of ice to defend himself from this new quirk but the black whips punch through the ice almost as easily as Izuku's punches had. The tendrils wrap around Todoroki's body as Izuku lifts both arms over his head causing Todoroki to be ensnared by the tendrils. The movement also yanks Todoroki off the ground before Izuku steps forwards and slams his arms onto the ground. Todoroki is yanked up before being whipped back and then thrown out of the ring, impacting the grass and bouncing across the dirt a couple times.

"T-Todoroki is out of bounds... Izuku Midoriya wins the sports festival." Aizawa says, and it's obvious that he's surprised that this was the outcome. He covers the mic and turns to Mic with wide eyes. "Holy shit he won, he even figured out how to control that new quirk."

The audience is dead quiet for a few moments before hearing clapping start in the hero course section. The first person to start clapping is Uraraka, who is quickly followed by Kirishima, Kaminari and the rest of 1-A. Their cheers and applause quickly infect the rest of the crowd and Izuku is left stunned. He did it, he actually did it, he won the sports festival. The adrenaline in his system is allowing him to ignore his broken leg from the last clash, but the exhaustion of using so much power has taken its toll on him causing him to fall flat on his back with a grin on his face. As the dust settles from him falling over, he finds what little energy he has left, to raise his arm high into the air with a wide grin on his face. He looks up to the announcers booth to see All Might in his buff form looking down at him with a proud look on his face. He chose well, he chose a worthy successor.

An hour after the fight ends, Izuku stands proud on the winners podium, to his left he stands above Todoroki and to his right, Bakugou is tied to a stone pillar by iron chains and massive steel manacles over his arms. His mouth is bound and gagged so he can't lash out and bite anyone, or slew a bunch of curses out indignantly. In front of them, All Might jumps into the stadium causing the crowd to go wild at his appearance before he waves and is approached by Midnight. "Young Bakugou, you are a tenacious fighter and should be proud you've made it as far as you have today. Congratulations." All Might says as he takes the bronze metal from Midnight and attempts to place it over Katsuki's head. The thrashing blonde tries to avoid having the metal placed on him but that stops when All Might grabs his forehead in order to hold him still enough to put the medal around his neck. "Todoroki Shouto, today you took the first step in forging your own identity. I know your father has big shoes to fill, but you shouldnt have to worry about filling them and instead following your own path from now on." He says before placing the silver medal on Todoroki's neck. "Also, no hard feelings from our first meeting. I knew your father was gonna force you to ask me that." He says before patting the young teen on the shoulder. "Finally, we have you, Izuku Midoriya. It's safe to say I haven't seen any student ever grow as quickly as you have. I've never even seen a quirk evolution until today, and with that new ability you went on to push yourself past your limits, control this new power and defeat the strongest member of your class and win the sports festival. You should be proud, my boy!" All Might places the gold medal around Izuku's neck before leaning in to whisper into his ear. "That last kick you did, was stronger than anything I've thrown in years. I'm proud to call you my successor." He says before patting his shoulder, turning to the crowd and speaking. "Let's hear it for our victors today!" All Might says, causing the crowd to roar louder than before. This is a moment Izuku will remember for the rest of his life.
