Chapter 11

I had to make my way instantly to the rehab center. I can't believe he left, and the worse thing is that they thought he was with me during this whole day. They didn't have enough information, they just told me that he was given the day pass, that's what they call it, around noon and that he left around one in the afternoon.

They called the police and they are doing everything they can. While I'm driving there I try to think where could he go. I'm trying to think positively. He's alright, I'm trying to convince myself that he is.

I finally arrive, Jack is sleeping so I take out the stroller and put him inside. I sprint my way to the entry, everything was like if nothing was happening. I go to the front desk and the lady instantly recognises me.

"Miss Sienna! I'm so glad you made it here." She says, standing up from her chair and walking around the desk, standing in front of me. "There's a police officer here that wants to ask you some questions."

"Of course." I say, nodding my head at her.

She guides me to an office, Jake's doctor is here along with the nurse that treats him. I sit down while the officer remains on his feet.

"Good evening, Sienna. I'm officer Sanchez. Nice to meet you." He gives me his hand and I shake it.

"Nice to meet you, officer." I say, placing my bag under the stroller. "Do you have any news?"

"Not yet. We think you can help us out." He says half sitting on the desk in front of us. "Is it okay if I ask you some questions? You're the person that has spend more time with Jake."

"Yeah, of course. I want to help" I say, still feeling the knot in my chest.

"Alright. Did he ever mentioned that he wanted to leave the center?" He asks and I shake my head.

"He was more than willing to stay here and carry with his recovery." I say, frankly.

"So... He never mentioned that he missed anything from when he was outside? Anything can help us." He looks at me, holding a paper and a pen in his hands.

I try to think, but only one thing comes to my mind.

"He said something about wanting to eat In-N-Out, but he asked me to bring him the food here, he never said anything about leaving." I say with a chuckle. "I don't think he would leave only to eat a burger."

"Officer Sanchez here, we need officers to patrol every In-N-Out establishment in the city and its surroundings. Over." He speaks into his intercom, then speaks to me. "We are not taking any chances."

"Is there anything else that he has told you?" The doctor asks me and I shake my head.

"Jake is alright. At least that's what I have been perceiving. You told me yourself." I say, I feel extremely preoccupied. "If he wasn't good I would have told you. All I want is for him to recover."

"We know, Miss Sienna. We never expected for him to escape." The doctor says to me. "I trust him. He's great, he was good this morning that's why I gave him the pass but only if he was supervised with you. I don't think we have to worry about him."

"Does he know your address? Maybe he went looking for you." The officer says and I shake my head but then I stop.

"He does know where I live, but I was there just less than an hour ago and he wasn't there." I say, trying to think. "And I was there the whole day, I left at the end of the afternoon."

"We also checked his place and it's untouched. We're running out of options." The officer says, shaking his head. "Do you know any of his friends here?"

"No. Before his... Accident, we have barely kept in touch. He needed a friend and that's why I'm here. For him." I look at the officer. He nods his head.

"I guess we just have to wait. I'm going to make some calls. Excuse me." Officer Sanchez says walking out of the office. I stay with the doctor and the nurse, she looks concerned.

"Sienna, you can stay as long as you want. We will keep you informed." The doctor says placing his hand on my shoulder, I nod my head at him and he leaves.

The nurse, Mary, stays with me. She brings me a linden tea to soothe my nerves and I thank her. I stay in the office at least for thirty minutes until I can't anymore. I need to stretch my legs and just check if they have any news.

"Can you watch the baby for me? I need to take I walk. I'm going crazy." I say to her, and she gives me a smile.

"Sure, I'll keep an eye on him." She says with a smile and I stand up.

I leave and walk around the public areas of the center. I somehow feel responsible for this. I promised him to come visit him today, but Harry surprised me and I did spend a wonderful day with him. But if I had come I would have received the news of his day-pass and I would have spent the day with him.

Where the hell is him?

I'm not in front of the rooms, this is a restricted area by this hour but there's no one outside guarding the door. I walk in making my way towards his room. The hall is quiet and empty, I finally reach his door and step inside, it's empty as well.

Everything is organized. His bed is made. Everything looks untouched. I stare out of the window, he has a great view from here. The night is clear and the moon is full. Wherever he is, I hope he's okay.

But suddenly, out of nowhere, I hear the door of the room open and I turn around instantly. The person we were all expecting is staring at me as if he's seeing a ghost.

"Sienna. What are you doing here? It's past the visiting hours." Jake asks surprised. He has a milkshake in his hand.

"What am I doing here?!" I yell, controlling myself and lowering my voice. "Where the fuck were you? Are you alright?"

I come forward inspecting him. He looks fine. He's safe.

"I got a day pass. I went for a walk around the city and grabbed something to eat." He says with a smile like if nothing was happening. "What's up with you?"

"Jake, we were so worried. Everyone thought you escaped or something." I say, letting a big sigh out. "Did anyone see you walk in? Even the police is looking for you."

"No. There was no one at the front desk." He says and I nod my head. Perfect. The security in here is very good. "And seriously? What did I miss?"

"Apparently, the pass was only to be used if you were supervised by me." I say explaining to him. "So, how the fuck did you leave?"

"I just showed the pass to the security and he let me walk outside. The doctor did mentioned you but, you never came so, I still wanted to go out." He says with a smile. I return it, he's clueless.

"I have to inform that you're here. Rest, okay? I will come tomorrow. I promise, I do." I say stopping by his side.

"It's okay, I understand that you also have a life." He says, resting his shoulder on the wall. "But where were you, though? You also promised you were coming today."

"Harry came to surprise me." I say, the smile erasing from my mouth. Somehow I feel bad by telling him that, I don't know why. "I was with him the whole day."

"That's great, I'm sure you had fun." He says, he doesn't look affected and that calms me.

"Go rest, I'll see you tomorrow." I say, placing my hand on his shoulder and then leaving his room.

After talking with the officer telling him that Jake was in his room, they all look at themselves blaming each other with a glare. The doctor and the nurse went right away to check on Jake and officer Sanchez cancelled the patrol on him. I leave the center with Jack, with peace in my head knowing that Jake is safe and alright.

One Week Later

Today is my appointment to know the sex of the baby. I'm incredibly nervous, I really wish Harry was with me to receive the news but he must be in a plane right now leaving Singapore. I guess I will have to deliver the news to him later, I can't wait. I arrive fifteen minutes early for the appointment, Jack is with me on his stroller.

I remember the last time like it was yesterday. I was so nervous. That's why I thought it was better to just leave it as a surprise, and I wouldn't be as happy.

"Miss Sienna Smith?" A nurse calls for my name and I wave, standing up taking Jack stroller with me. "Follow me, Miss Sienna."

She guides my way to the doctor's office and she tells me to lay down, the doctor will be here in any minute. I sit on the gurney and look at Jack, he has a book with him but he is biting on it.

"Are you ready to know if you're having a sister or a brother?" I say as a wide nervous smile consumes my face.

"Good morning." The door opens an a male doctor appears inside the room. "Miss... Sienna Smith, right?"

"That's me." I say with a nervous smile.

"Nice to meet you, I'm Doctor Callaham. You can call me Allan, if you want." He says grabbing a tall chair and sitting next to the stroller. "It's funny, I just walked into the wrong room. She wasn't pregnant so, I almost gave her a heart attack."

"Poor girl." I say laughing nervously.

"And who's this handsome young man? Hi there, bud." He says towards Jack. He smiles a teeth-less smile, you can see how red are his gums.

"He's Jack. He's ten months old, and I think he's teething." I say with a proud smile.

"Let me see." He says, putting on the gloves and taking the book from Jack's hand. He opens his little mouth, Jack stays still. "He needs a real teether. Has he presented fever or irritating crying?"

"Nothing. He's just salivating more." I say, he then turns to look at me.

"I think he has a rough month ahead. Don't be worried if he has fever, it's just the teething." He says, with a smile. "Now, let's talk about the other baby. Lay down, please, and move your shirt up."

I lay down placing both of my hands on my belly moving my blouse up. The doctor moves his hands to my belly, patting some places, checking if everything is alright.

"Good, all seems good. You have a nice size for being sixteen weeks. You waited a bit longer to know the sex." He says to me, getting the machine ready.

"I was busy and traveling around. Life has been agitated." I say, biting my bottom lip.

He places a cold liquid on my belly and puts the monitor into my belly. He moves it around until he can see clearly.

"There. Can you see it? That's the little head." I look at the screen, feeling butterflies in my stomach.

"And the hands." I say, a smile growing on my face.

"The heartbeat is fine, everything seems under control but-" He stops moving it a little to the left. He purses his lips. "There, I found it. Are you ready to know the sex?"

I take a deep breath. I should wait, I want to wait.

"No. I want to wait. But- Can you print it and put it in an envelope? Maybe my boyfriend wants to know."  I say, looking at the doctor. He nods his head.

"Alright. Give me a minute." He presses some things in the screen and two pictures print out. He stands up writing something behind one of the pictures and he takes an envelope from a drawer, putting that inside and sealing it. He gives me the other. "The sex is written inside. But, since you don't want to know yet, you can look at this one."

"Thank you. I don't know, I waited with Jack and it was amazing to know right when he was born." I say looking at the picture in my hand. You can clearly see the silhouette of the baby. "As long as the baby is fine, I'm happy."

"Well, yes. Everything is fine. I guess I will see you in a couple weeks for a check up." He says writing something in a paper and standing up. He gives me a paper towel to clean up. "See you soon, Sienna."

I leave the hospital still staring at the little picture. I'm really happy. I send Harry a picture to his phone and go to my car. I also can't wait to tell Jake how everything went. Besides, he is leaving the center this weekend. After what happened last Saturday, the doctor said he was only staying for another week because he seemed more than stable.

I arrive in minutes to his center, I'm in an incredible mood today. I go straight to his room, he was sitting on the chair with a book in his hand.

"Sienna! How did it go? Is it a girl?" He says excitedly and I shake my head. "A boy!"

"I don't know. I don't want to know, I decided to wait." I say, giving him the picture. "But, you can see bean, well it's not a bean anymore. Look at that tiny hand."

"Oh my. A baby." He says looking at the picture, his eyes glow. "Wow, this is real. A second baby. I mean, I know it was already real, but actually seeing it."

"I know, I totally understand the feeling." I say with a wide smile. He hugs me, congratulating me. He then sits again, I sit on his bed taking Jack with me.

"But... Didn't Harry want to know?" He asks, giving the picture back to me.

"He can know, only if he promises not to tell me. There's an envelope for him." I tell him and he nods his head.

"This is so real. I'm very happy." He says looking at me, its the first time since he's in rehab that I see a sincere big smile on his face.

I spend the rest of the day with him. Now that he is almost ready to go the conversations have changed into something much more important. Like, what he's going to do when he leaves. He wants to take small steps. He doesn't want to go back to his modelling career right away, he wants to take some time off.

Also, he definitely wants to leave his management company but that's not going to be easy. I think I can help him with that, maybe Irvin would take him as well.

But first, I would have to tell Harry. And I'm not quite ready for that.

Right now, we are discussing the agenda for the day he leaves. This Saturday.

"I can come pick you up and maybe get something to eat afterwards." I say with Jack on my lap, he is babbling words along with me. "And then I can drop you off at your place and make sure you're settled and okay."

"My own bed." He says with a dreamy smile. "How I miss my bed."

"I know the feeling." I say, suddenly remembering that I should go home now, I need to call Harry. "I'm going to head out. Get ready, you're out in two days."

"Yeah, yeah. But hey," He stops me once I stand up, holding my hand. "Thank you for everything that you have done for me. It really means a lot."

"It's nothing Jake. I'm happy to help you." I say giving him a reassuring smile, squeezing his hand and leaning closer to him placing a kiss on his cheek.

I leave the center and drive to my place. The traffic is not so bad and I arrive in only forty minutes. I start the night time routine of Jack, feeling more tired today than any other day of this past week. And right after his bath, when I'm heating his milk, I call Harry, but it goes to voice mail.

Once I get something to eat and go upstairs, sitting Jack beside me on the bed, I call him again, and once again, voice mail. Weird.

I check the time zones, it's noon in there so he's probably up. Maybe his battery died, that should be it. I decide to text him with the picture of the scan of bean, I'm sure he will love it as soon as he charges his phone.

I put Jack to sleep and he falls asleep almost instantly, like every night. I go back to the bed and to distract my mind a bit I go into Instagram, just surfing through the feed. Until, something caught my attention. I usually don't check the media, much less about his band or him, but this is not what I was expecting.

They're pictures from Singapore. Harry is hanging by the pool, his phone in his hand. The next picture, he's inside the pool. With... A mystery girl. You can only see her wavy blonde hair.

I feel my heart stop immediately. That can't be Jen. I swipe to see the next picture. I shouldn't have done that. He's holding her face in his hands, kissing her.

I drop my phone on my bed, my mouth is wide open trying to get oxygen inside of my lungs. No. This... This can't be true.

A/N: Oh dear.
