Epilogue

So far everything has been going great for me. Selena and I had a long talk about our sisterhood and a lot of other stuff we needed to catch up on, graduation was amazing. I flawlessly walked across that stage and got my masters degree and so did Chris.

Chris and I still haven't agreed on where we will stay permanently. He got us a brand new home where we can build our family, but it's still hard for the both of us to move out. My baby bump keeps growing and growing and it always keeps amazing me. It doesn't show unless I wear tight clothes, which I don't. We chose not to publicly spread the news about my pregnancy. We only told people who we are close to and who mean a lot to us. The rest can find out when they do. I dread the moment things will start appearing on social media.

Megan and Selena invited me to a picnic and I agreed to go because there's not much to do anyway. When we reach our destination they get out of the car before me and start running until they're out of my sight.

"Jeez wait up guys. I'm not gonna chase you if that's what you think." I shout. After a few minutes of following the path I was on I notice that it's a death end.

Great! A death end in the middle of the jungle.

"Guys! Stop playing with me!" I shout and a little light goes on. It's a sign that says "Follow the light Yelle"

I do as it says. It feels like every step I take turns another light on. Along the path there are pictures of Chris and I. I don't know how to describe it. It looks like they're on a small digital screen, but they're not. They're all in perfect order of the years. Apart from the pictures, there are also short videos that bring back so many memories. Great fun times that I totally forgot about. There are also notes on pieces of paper. The notes seem to form a poem.

We embark on a new journey. Let our travels never end.

Keep us heading in the same direction, though the track may sometimes bend.

Let happiness be our destination, let our trademark be a smile,

Let us enjoy every foot step, not begrudge a smile

Let us revel in new discoveries. Greet each fresh dawn with pleasure.

Let us find our inner wealth and know the true meaning of treasure.

You are not just the love of my life, you're my best friend

Together we can face any possible day till the end.

Never doubt my love for you, because it is as real today as it was the day we first began to share a love.

Our love, the gift that was given to me as a blessing from above.

So I plead on bended knee.

My dear Chanielle...

Will you marry me?

The last four words, are written on the ground with rose petals. Chris is standing in front of a heart that is also shaped by rose petals. He's holding a small box and a bouquet of roses in his hands. When he sees me, he goes down on one knee.

"Oh Christian." I say noticing just now that I'm crying and that my face is completely tear stained.

"My Yelle. Will you marry me princess?" He asks with his beautiful dulcet voice.

"Yes! Yes of course I'll marry you." I say running towards him. He hugs me tightly before placing the ring on my finger.

And just like that all my family and friends start appearing out of the bushes applauding and congratulating us.

This is officially one of the top three best days of my life so far. Is that even a thing?

Chris and I share a passionate kiss with my hands around his neck while his are around my waist. When we break the kiss we look each other deep in the eyes and say exactly what our hearts are screaming.

"I love you Chanielle." "I love you Christian."

THE END
