I nodded, "It's the worst drug of all. It makes you believe that things will get better. It makes people believe that there's a better life. And then, you feel like you're on fucking cloud nine when you believe in hope. But what happens when things don't get better? Just like that, just like every other drug, you come down. No, you crash down. And you're shattered. All because of hope."

Den took a step closer to me, his eyes filled with sorrow and agony. "Why would you say that?"

I looked straight into his eyes, as I whispered, "Because I have been addicted to hope before."

Hope it is up to your standards. I think it is kind of sloppy though.
