Chapter 7

Numbuh 1 said disbelief, "J-Jacey!!"

Father was shocked that the fact she's also the same as him but opposite. He finally met his match as he growled, "So....You have ice power huh? Very interesting. To think my attack was blocked by a teenager. But tell me....do you think you have what it takes to play with the big boys?!" as his body let out a huge flames, showing in front of her.

Jacey said with uninterested look, "Yeah, Nice Fireworks..... you really need to cool down." as she let out an ice wind which Father's flame was burnt out as he shivered in surprise.

"Agh....so cold." He said before maintaining his posture. "So it's a fight you want, well then it's a fight your gonna get."

"Bring it on....Old man." She said with a smug.

Anger by the insult, They circled at each other as Father blasted fire which Jacey created an ice shield before dissipating. Father charged at her, blasting fire which she evaded the attack then blasted ice blast at him.

Sector V ran up to Numbuh 1 who seems stunned by Jacey's appearance. Numbuh 2 said surprised, "Numbuh 1.....Did you know your sister has ice power?"

Numbuh 1 said stupefied, "No, I don't. Then again, Who knew we would be facing Father against his fire?

"Yeah, so convenient." Numbuh 5 said.

Father thrust a multiple fireballs at her which she dodged then Jacey formed a couple of ice spear as it thrust at Father who just yelped and dodged it.

"I hate to admit but your sister is actually not bad." Numbuh 4 admitted.

"Wheee.....She sure is." Numbuh 3 said with excitement.

Father was infuriated at this and let out a powerful blast at Jacey, who reacted and they both battled it out by shooting powerful rays of fire and ice at one another. Unfortunately, she was being overpower by Father's fire blast as she can feel her feet being pushed back.

Numbuh 1 notice his sister seems to be struggling and was about to be overwhelmed. He had to think fast. He looked around until something caught in his eye. A Fire hose which was hanged on the wall.

Jacey was pushed into the wall, still shooting ice blast against Father's overwhelming fire blast. "This is the end for you....little ice princess." Father said with an evil sneer.

Jacey couldn't hold it much longer until she was about to reach her limit when she heard a battle cry.

"KIDS NEXT DOOR, BATTLE STATION!!

Father turned around, "What the?!"

"5!"

"4!"

"3!"

"2!"

"1!" Numbuh 1 smiled as he and his team raised the fire hose which squirted huge water at Father which made him sputtered, "Hey...What are you?!....Stop!!....ugh...." as he halted his fire attack, causing Jacey to sighed in relief.

"Enough....Enough....." Father said weakly, while being sprayed by water. "I SAID ENOUGH!!!!" letting out an enraging flames which pushed Numbuh 1 and his crew back, causing them to dropped the fire hose.

They were thrown on the ground as the Delightful's said with evil smile, "Having Fun?"

"I have just about enough of your tricks, Numbuh 1!!" Father said angrily, raising his hands, ready to fire blast.

Numbuh 1 looked up with a smirked, "You sure have?"

"Wait a minute....Why are you smiling?"

"We weren't trying to drench you, we just needed you to cool off."

Father was confused about the last part when he felt a poke on the shoulder as he turned to see Jacey with a mischievous smile and said, "Like he said, you need to Cool Off!!"

Father didn't had time to react as she let out a powerful ice blast. "No!!!" He yelled before his body was engulf in a frozen sculpture pillar.

Jacey walked up to frozen Father, "Don't mess with the Babysitter, Bully."

The Delightful's said in horror, "Father!!"

"JAcey!!!" Numbuh 1 run up to his sister.

"Nigel!!" JAcey turned to him as she hugged her little brother. Unfortunately, she didn't realize her arms were cold.

"GAH!!! Jacey, your cold!!"

She released him as she said sheepishly, "Whoops....Sorry, I forgot about it. Hang on." She concentrated her form which reverted back to her human form.

"There. Much better." She knelt down to Nigel as both of them hug again.

"You did it, Jacey."

"No, Nigel....You all did it. Together. You guys were the ones who saved me from being fire blast by distracting him."

"Well you did the good too..... Sis."

Jacey's eyes widened before a proud smile appeared on her face before hugging her little brother again. They released each other before she felt something collide harshly with her shoulder as something clamp onto her ar. She turned, only to see Numbuh 3.

"Don't you scare me like that!" she moaned, giggling.

"Yeah!" Numbuh 4 said. "I've had to put up with all this soppy crud since we left!"

Jacey laughed with relief and returned the hug. Numbuh 5 came over and helped Numbuh 1 to his feet. She backed away from him and looked and him, folding her arms and nodding.

"Not bad, Numbuh 5 has to admit she's impressed." She said, punching him in the arm.

Numbuh 1 grinned at his team before turning to Jacey, "Though, I can't believe it....You never told me you had ice power."

"Actually.....I had it when I turn 15, I was little surprised by my discovery. That's why I left the house, in order for me to control them properly. And that's how I was able to escape prison from your moon base."

"Hmm.....It must have been that Radioactive ice-cream explosion that given you powers." Numbuh 1 deduced.

"What are you guys talking about?" Numbuh 2 said confused.

"I'll explain to you all later after we leave this place." Numbuh 1 said. "Let's go, team."

Jacey said, "Wait....Before we go, I have something to do." much to Sector V's confusion.

She walked up to the Delightful's who looked up in fear as she said with smile, has a hidden anger in her voice, "You know I still won't forgive you for trying to erase my brother's memory. I know I'm against hitting kids but as a babysitter, I'll have to give you a proper punishment."

The Delightful's said, shuddering in fear, "What are you going to do, freeze us?"

"What...Oh no no no, I'm going to punish you in an old fashion way, how adults deal with naughty children." Jacey said with a threatening tone.

Numbuh 1 and his team cover their eyes, cringing the sound of spanking in the background and cry of the Delightful's. Once they were punish eneough, Jacey dusted her hands and walked passed Sector V and said, "Ah....I feel much better now. Okay guys, Let's go."

They were now outside of mansion where they're hover craft were waiting for them as they got inside. Jacey felt proud of her brother, he had clearly done a good job leading his team. She had never been a strong leader herself, forced into the position merely because of her being the first. She was not like him; he was born to do this. Maybe he was going to be a brilliant operatives in the future, all five of them were, even though she doesn't know it.

The craft turned in the air and headed back towards the base.

Jacey said, "Oh I believe this...belongs to you." she brought out the decommissioner that she defrosted before handing it to Numbuh 1.

Numbuh 2 exclaimed, "The Decommissioner?! You got it back!!"

"Yeah.....But now I'm ready." She said with a sad sigh.

Sector V looked confused as Numbuh 1 questioned, "Ready for what?"

She knelt down to Numbuh 1 and said, " To have my memory erase."

"WHAT!!!!"

"Why?!" Numbuh 3 said.

"Don't you know? I escape from the Moon base and I'm still label as a spy that Cree frame me. Beside, I don't think they wouldn't allow a teenager to be at the clubhouse and I'm not suppose to remember KND."

"Jacey...." Numbuh 1 said.

"After all, this was the most amazing adventure I ever had and now it's going to be the last memory I would forget. Even though, I lost my memory of being one of KND operative. At least, I get to go on a mission with my brother, one last time."

They looked sad at Jacey, even they didn't know what she meant except Numbuh 1 who knows. She placed her hand on Numbuh 1's shoulder and spoke, "You know what to do, Nigel?"

He looked up to her sad expression on her face as he looked down at the decommissioner. Numbuh 1 said, "Yes, I know exactly what to do."

The ship landed carefully inside the tree-house landing bay and they all piled out and into the main sitting area. There was an incoming transmission from the Moon Base HQ warning flashing on screen. Numbuh 1 pushed his shades back into place and braced himself.

"Numbuh 1 here."

The blonde girl from the last message pixelated into view. Numbuh 362 glared down at him.

"Numbuh 1, do you know how stupid that stunt you pulled was?"

She was off, waving her arms and shouting about how his recklessness and lack of thinking would soon get the whole KND in danger. She'd been ranting now for at least fifteen minutes and didn't look like she was showing any signs of stopping. By this point, she had finished moaning at Nigel, and was now moving onto the rest of the team. She explained how she couldn't believe they had gone back without a substitute leader or without consulting HQ first, blaming it on poor leadership skills.

"However, all of you displayed some appalling sense of thought and planning, not to mention reckless behaviour and refusal to follow regulation, you still achieved mission objective."

Numbuh 1 smiled as she questioned, "Anyway, About your sister...."

"Don't worry....." He brought out the decommissioner to show her. "I manage to decommission her so she won't remember anything else. We'll make sure to put up more security no spy would ever hack in again."

"Good. Be sure to deliver the decommissioner so that we would relocate it where it won't fall into the wrong hands. So... good job, Numbuh 1."

The screen went black. Everyone was baffled and exasperated at the same time as Numbuh 1 blushed slightly.

"I think she likes you, you know?"

He jarred at her words, "Pfft! Yeah right! Really?"

Jacey laughed as she came out of hiding as she winked at him. "So, I'm confused, did we do a good job or not? I don't understand that cruddy chick!" Numbuh 4 cried.

"We did good, silly!" Numbuh 3 grinned, forcing him into a one-sided hug.

He tried to break free, "I don't understand any cruddy chick!"

"Yeah... get used to that." Jacey smirked, "We don't get any easier."

Numbuh 5 smiled and nodded, not noticing the blush that has hidden beneath part of Numbuh 2's helmet. Numbuh 4 demanded to know how the sisters managed to escape and what had happened. Jacey sighed and looked at Numbuh 1 hopefully, he shrugged and took it upon himself to explain. He told them about the decommissioner and his plan to rid himself of KND agents, how Jacey was actually a former KND operative, making them into early members of his teen army. They were disgusted.

"Should we inform HQ about that?" asked Numbuh 2, anxiously/

"I will, when Numbuh 362 has a chance to calm down first." Numbuh 1 said.

Numbuh 5 said, "But Numbuh 1....Are you sure you didn't want to tell her about this?"

Jacey added, "Yeah I mean you lied to her. Don't you think you'll get in trouble.

Numbuh 1 assured, "Don't worry, I'll take responsible for it if they find out. Beside, you may have forgotten about being KND operative but you risked your life to save me, just like what you did in Iceland. I thought maybe you deserve something to remember by."

"really?"

"As long as you don't tell anyone or reveal about not having your memory erase."

Jacey lift her brother and hugged him lovingly, "Oh thanks little brother."

Numbuh 5 said, "Awe...it comes to show that you care."

Numbuh 1 said with a blush, "Yeah yeah whatever."

Numbuh 2 exclaimed, "I also can't believe that your Number 777. I've read every history about you and all the dangerous mission you've been. Your like a legend!!!"

Jacey chuckled, it was ashamed that she didn't remember the things she had done but hearing Numbuh 2 words made her feel like she did something proud.

All of a sudden, the bag that was leaning against the sofa, which she recognized as her own, started vibrating and let out a ringtone, a dim light pushing through the fabric. She placed her brother down as she fished out her phone and felt her throat dry at the sight of the 8 missed calls and current incoming call from none other than a certain mother. She shushed the group and pressed the connect button, putting on her most calm babysitting voice that she could manage.

"Hello, Mrs. Beetles!... I know, I'm so sorry, we were outside and I guess I lost track of my phone.... Yeah, everything's fine, we've been having lots of fun..." Jacey rolled her eyes at the sight of Wally smacking his palm to his forehead, "What's that?... Oh, right okay no problem. See you soon... Bye!"

Her smile faded and her voice suddenly dropped back to its serious tone. She scrambled around, grabbing her stuff and shoving it into her bag, leaving the load of fake spy equipment behind. She jumped over the sofa and grabbed Numbuh 4 by the hood of his jumper, dragging him out the door.

"Your parents are coming home early, we've got to get home now!" she explained, turning to face the others, "I'll see you guys later and thank you for everything!"

As they waved goodbye to her, Numbuh 5 was still curious about something. If Jacey lost her memory of KND, How did she still know they even exist? Not to mention, no adult should know about it except her older sister. Though, she did mentioned that a friend told her. She wondered who Jacey's friend is. She wanted to questioned it but decided to push aside after seeing Numbuh 1 smiling at her older sister who left the room.

Jacey was aware that her goodbye or her gratitude was nearly satisfactory enough, but after this, she would be free to do it properly, after all, she was visiting for a good week or two. The babysitter and the grumbling boy raced out of the tree house and rushed down the street until they arrived at the back door of the Beetles residence. Wally clicked on the TV and the two just managed to throw themselves down on the sofa, getting into a position that gave the illusion that they had been there for hours, just as the front door opened.

Two adults traced into the room, looking down at the pair, smiling. Jacey got to her feet and tried to cover her lack of breathing by smiling and shaking the parents hand. Wally arched his brow, pretending not to notice his parents return.

""I hope everything was okay? He didn't give you any trouble did he, it wouldn't be the first time..." his mother warned.

Numbuh 4 rolled his eyes, Jacey answered with a laughter in her tone, "No, not at all..... he's been a big help actually."

"He hasn't been stuck in front of that TV, has he?" joked the father, winking at his irritated son.

She shook her head, "Nah.... we've only just turned it on."

They nodded with approval. Even Wally had to admit, she was cool under pressure, and true to her world, lying wasn't her thing. He would have to figure out how she did that, telling the total truth and yet not giving away a single thing.

"So where are you staying now until you surprise your parents?" they asked, handing over her babysitting money.

She shrugged, "I've got some errands to run, so by the time they're done it'll be the perfect time to surprise them. Thanks for letting me stay."

"Thanks for taking care of you little scamp!" Mr. Beetles grinned, tousling his sons hair, "Wallabee, are you going to say goodbye to Jacey?"

Wally glanced up at the teenager and nodded, "See ya."

"Yeah, see ya." Jacey grinned.

Jacey was walked out of the house and began to make her way down the street, when she noticed something rustling in the bushes. She peered in and braced herself, unsure of the noise being a threat or not.

"Errands, huh?" Numbuh 4 tumbled from the shrub, eyeing her warily, "Like what?"

He still didn't trust her, she thought, "Just something I've got to do, that's all."

"At the tree-house? At the Delightful Dorks?"

She shook her head, "No, why? You worried about me?" she smirked playfully.

He scoffed, "Yeah right! Now... go on get outta here!"

She grinned and tousled his hair, "I'll see you around."

And with that, she was gone. Vanished around the street corner, leaving him alone. He huffed and mumbled something about 'cruddy teenagers' and returned home before his parents noticed his trip to the 'bathroom' taking too long. Jacey however, was heading down every ally-way, as though she was taking a short-cut.

Then, she halted from her track as she peered over her shoulder, she knew someone was following her. She turned to the next corner where a mysterious figure came out of hiding. wondering if she notice it. The shadowy figure followed her around the corner, only to meet a dead-end, much to his confusion

All of a sudden, a heavy weight collided into his back, knocking him off his feet face first to the floor. His arms were pulled behind him so that he couldn't attack and his legs pinned together. He strained his neck to look at his attacker, his eyes blinded by the harsh light. The figure relaxed its grip slightly.

"Too easy....You still need to sharpen you stealth if you want to sneak up behind me." Jacey said, pushing herself off of him hastily and pulled him to his feet. "Wouldn't you agree? Former Numbuh 274....Chad Dickson."

The figure turned out to be Chad which he was wearing an armor. "So....you really did remember, Numbuh 777?" He said surprised.

Jacey smiled at him, "Yeah....I did. I got it back 3 years ago when you told me about KND existence that shouldn't be spoken."

"I know....I thought it was the only way to get you back. After all, you were my teacher and the best operative. If you had your memories back, you could have join the Teen Ninja."

"That's nice....But you know I can't do that, I chose my own path. I rather enjoy my normal life and have fun than fighting against KND. I wouldn't spoil my brother's adventure, I mean who could blame them? They're just being kids for a little while, let them enjoy their best moments."

Chad sighed in sadness as Jacey placed her hand on his shoulder, "Beside, the Numbuh 777 you once knew, don't exist anymore, only in your memory and it was honor fighting alongside KND. The greatest memory I had is going on a mission with my little brother one last time and I'll never forget that."

Chad shut his eyes tight, tears dropping from his left eye as he looked up and said, "If you remember....Why didn't you tell KND? I'm sure TND would love to accept you in their organization."

"If I do, I might end up having my memories of my time erase. Beside, You escape from being decommission, didn't you? Because you didn't want to lose the memory of your adventure times. "

Chad smiled sadly as he replied, "Yeah, I guess your right."

Jacey removed her hand from his shoulder as she said, "I also heard that you trained my little brother back then. Thanks for taking care of him, your great friend even though you became traitor to KND since Nigel did looked up to you."

Chad lowered his head in guilt as he said, "I guess traitor is how my friends see me. It's fair I suppose.

"Chad....you maybe an enemy to KND. To me, your still my friend and you were my best pupil ever. Don't forget that."

Chad smiled proudly by her praised as she added, "I also like to thank you for covering up for me. You didn't tell KND or Cree that I got my memories back."

"Well, I thought I return the favor after saving me from the radioactive ice-cream explosion incident from Iceland. Even you expose yourself to the effect but you still risk your life to save me. I feel regretful for not being best enough."

"Chad....You already are the best, in your own way." She assured. "Beside, I didn't want to join your crew so that I won't abuse my ice power to hurt the kids and my family." as she lifted her hand, making snowflakes appeared before it disappeared.

Chad was surprised then smile at her as he said, "Anyway, I better get going before Cree finds out I'm with you. Though, she doesn't appreciate having brain freeze for what you did."

"Hey, It's her own fault for over underestimating herself. She should really watch her back sometime."

"Goodbye, Jacey." He saluted as he was about to leave the alley.

"Oh Chad!!!"

He turned around before seeing a soda thrown at him which he caught it. He looked up to see Jacey was holding a soda as well.

" 'This takes the icing.........A reward for trying so hard.' Got it memorized? " She reminded.

Chad chuckled, the way she says that phrase is what reminded him of the time he was only a cadet and she trained him before giving him a treat; Eating their ice-cream together. Only this time, it wasn't ice-cream but soda can instead. He walked up to her before opening their cans as they cheer then started drinking together.

After that, Chad offered her to walk home together but decided against it, not wanting the Teen Ninjas to find out. They shared a friendly hug before saying good bye to Jacey as he disappeared into the night.

She gripped her bag over her shoulder and strode up the pathway and knocked confidently on the door. The door opened to reveal a large, round man with a balding head, he beamed down on her.

"By Jove! Jacey, I thought you weren't arriving till the morning!" he cried in his over-the-top British accent.

Being British herself, she had to laugh at his old fashioned phrases. No one in Britain really spoke like that, but she presumed that maybe he was putting it on to mess with the Americans heads. Thus, she played along and pretended to ignore it.

"Well I was but I wanted to surprise you. Surprise!" she grinned.

Her parents welcomed her with a large meal that she was more than grateful to devour. She realized that she hadn't eaten anything since she had started babysitting Numbuh 4 the afternoon before.

They apologized to Nigel not being present, apparently he was having a sleepover in the tree-house, so it would be a nice surprise for him in the morning. She nodded and smiled secretly to herself. Jacey ask them if the can have a hamburger tomorrow night as a celebration which they agreed. They led her upstairs into the guest bedroom and left her to set herself up. However, she only just managed to get her pajamas on before she collapsed onto the bed, falling into a deep sleep.

The morning sun broke though the gap in her curtains. She blinked her eyes until she was completely awake. There were strange noises coming from downstairs, including a few loud voices that it took her less than seconds to recognize. She hastily threw on some clothes and fashioned her hair into her signature side pony-tail and brushed her teeth. Whatever was going on, she was itching to find out.

She tapped on the closed dining room door and everything suddenly went deadly quiet. A polite cough at her side made her jump. Before her, her parents smiled knowingly down at her.

"Nigel found out you were here and wanted to give you a little something. We're going to pop to the shops for a bit, think you'll be okay on your own with him?"

"Yeah, we'll be fine!" she beamed.

They nodded and left, chuckling to themselves. Jacey raised an eyebrow in suspicion. What was going on here? Carefully and slowly, she opened the door to the dining room, edging her way inside. The room was flooded in darkness. A cold sweat beaded on her forehead. Her fists raised themselves into fighting stance and her senses were on high alert. All of a sudden, the lights burned on and there was a child-like series of cries around her.

"Surprise!"

Jacey staggered back, taking everything in. The room was filled with streamers and bursting part-poppers. Sat on the table, almost spilling over the edges was the biggest and most delicious looking cake Jacey had ever seen, Gathered around it, was a group of children, lead by her cousin. He folded his arms and smirked at her triumphantly.

"Welcome home." He said, simply.

She grinned and forced him into a hug, which he wasn't sure if he liked or not, so instead he just gingerly tapped her on the back.

"Oh yeah, and we think you're missing something." Numbuh 5 commented, tossing an object to her.

Jacey caught it and examined it which turned out to be the black hair-tie that she lost from before. Her eye's widened before tying her hair back into a ponytail.

How did you...?"

She hesitated as she noticed something written on the cake in bright blue icing. 'Happy Birthday Delightful Children'. She narrowed her eyes, yet couldn't ignore the pride that she felt for them.

"The Delightful's cake?" she asked with awe, eyes widening at their skills, but then she snapped out of it, "You went back into the mansion?" she cried, "You could have been hurt! You -"

"Jeez give it a rest!" Numbuh 4 snapped, rolling his eyes, "We're more than a match for those creeps!"

Got that right, Jacey thought, "But why?"

"It's still our annual mission to steal the cake, so what if we took back a few other stolen things on the way?" Numbuh 2 smirked, mouth watering at the cake.

"You guys are just so..." she couldn't find a word for them, so she said the only thing that made sense to her, and would hopefully make sense to them too, "...so KND."

The grinned a the complement.

"Now then, are we digging into this cake or not?" Jacey said to them.

"Cake for breakfast?" Numbuh 3 grinned, jumping on the spot.

"Of course!" Jacey smiled, cutting the first layer of the cake into slices and passing it around.

It was amazing. There were no other ways of describing the cake, but amazing. Clearly, it had been worth it. By the end of their third or fourth piece each, they were ready to throw up, but still couldn't bring themselves to stop.

Numbuh 3 jumped up and down at Jacey, looking excited. "Ooh Ooh Can you make it snow? Pretty Please?"

Jacey chuckled, "Alright but just this once." as she twirled her fingertips which causes the cloud to appear above her as raining snowflakes fall on her.

Numbuh 3 cheered, "Yeah!!! SNOWY!!" while others joined in. Nigel walked up to her and said, "Still didn't think your using ice power for something like this."

"Yeah....Mom and Dad wasn't aware of it which was probably best not knowing. I plan to open my own ice-cream shop one day." Jacey said.

"Really?"

"Yeah.....Where kids, teens and adults are welcome to enjoy ice-cream."

"But....they only sell ice-cream to responsible adult."

"Not this one. It's not fair for adults to have an ice-cream to themselves. They need to learn to share it. But not now.....until I have enough money to open up my own ice-cream shop, that's my dream. Not to mentioned, I can use my ice power for fun making"

She whispered to Nigel on the ear, "Don't worry, I'll give you guys discount, everytime you come to my ice-cream shop. You'll be the first to have your very taste in it."

Nigel said happily, "That would be great."

All of a sudden, the group of children froze as their communicators started flashing. They groaned and started piling out of the room. Jacey made the snowflake clouds to disappeared with a snap.

"Another cruddy mission? We've just finished one!"

"Numbuh 5 knew this peace was too good to last."

Jacey watched them leaving, smiling as they went. She was going to miss being a KND operative back then. She was 17, in a year and a half, she would be 18 and it was highly doubtful that they were going to allow an adult into the teams. 'AND' didn't really have a ring to it anyway.

"Hey, Jacey, Do you want to come?"

Jacey looked up to see her little brother standing at the door frame, arching an eyebrow as he adjusted his shades.

She shake her head, "Nah, you guys have fun and don't worry I'll tell them that you guys are at the park, playing. But try not to stay out too long since we're going to have hamburgers tonight and your friends are invited so don't miss it."

"I wouldn't miss a thing, Sis." Nigel said as he left door.

She watched Nigel and his friends head into the tree-house before minutes later, she sees a ship blasted off into the open air and head towards their target. Jacey couldn't escape the smile that had etched herself on her face. She could tell from Nigel and his teammates, they were definitely going to make great TND operatives some day, and if they ever did make an adult sector, if there ever was going to be a AND station...

She was positive that Nigel Uno was going to be the first.

"That's my brother." She chuckled.

(A/N And that's the end of this chapter. Happy Anniversary to Codename; Kids Next Door!!!)
