Day 4 - Gingerbread

"This is gonna be the coolest gingerbread house in the history of the world, Keith," Lance proclaimed as he burst through Keith's apartment door, kicking off his shoes before taking the gingerbread kit out of the plastic Bed Bath & Beyond bag.

"Oh, yeah?" Keith called back from the kitchen.

"Yeah!" Lance confirmed, walking in with the box in his hands. As soon as he saw Keith, though, he nearly dropped the box, his jaw falling open.

Keith stood by the stove, stirring a pot of soup, wearing nothing but a pair of plaid boxers. He didn't even look up as Lance stood by the entrance of the kitchen, gaping like a fish out of water.

The two of them had been dating for a couple weeks, but Keith still seemed self-conscious about his body. He changed clothes in the bathroom and never walked around shirtless like Lance did.

It was rare for Lance to see Keith exposed like this, which was part of the reason he was so surprised. The other part was because Keith was so incredibly gorgeous, Lance just wanted to ogle at him forever.

At Lance's sudden silence, Keith looked up, eyes curious. When he saw Lance's red cheeks and frozen expression, he winced, self-consciously putting a hand to his stomach. "Should I put on a shirt?" He asked quietly, looking away.

"No, no, you're fine. You're good, babe, don't worry about it," Lance rushed to say, hastily jerking back into motion and setting the kit down on the counter. "Let's make this sucker."

As the two set to work on holding the slabs of gingerbread together with frosting and little candies, the atmosphere was comfortable and relaxed. Lance tried not to stare at Keith's toned chest or abs, nervous that he'd make Keith uncomfortable, but Keith's obliviousness every time their arms brushed or their fingers bumped was driving him crazy.

Wiping his forehead, Lance sighed, his arms sore from holding the roof together for so long while Keith made intricate little designs along the shingles. Keith was, above all, a perfectionist, and, while the house already looked delicious, it was a tireless task to make it look perfect.

Keith looked up at Lance, giving him a small smile in thanks. And just like that, it was worth it.

After about 10 more minutes, the gingerbread house was set and drying on the counter and Keith and Lance were washing white frosting off their hands at the sink, talking together about little things like the upcoming snowstorm and where they were going for Christmas dinner.

It was only when Keith turned to throw something in the trash that Lance noticed the stripe of frosting on his cheek.

Giggling slightly, Lance out his hands on Keith's hips and turned him so they faced each other. Keith's bewildered expression only made Lance laugh harder.

"What?" Keith asked, confused.

"You've got..." Lance leaned forward and placed his lips to Keith's cheek, licking the frosting off.

"Ew," Keith groaned, shoving at Lance's chest, "that's gross."

"I think it's romantic."

"You think everything is romantic."

Lance paused. "Touché." It was true.

Lance dropped his hands from Keith's waist and resumed cleaning up. However, no sooner had he turned around, Keith was in front of him, swiping a blob of frosting on Lance's nose.

Blinking slowly, Lance watched Keith's smile split into a grin.

"Asshole," he groaned, raising an eyebrow at Keith.

"I'm not licking that off," Keith informed Lance, throwing the leftover frosting in the trash.

Wiping the frosting off his nose with a paper towel, Lance smirked. "That's okay... I guess I'll just..."

Grabbing Keith by the waist, Lance threw his boyfriend over his shoulder, parading out of the kitchen and into the living room. Keith kicked Lance lightly, protesting, but laughed along, rolling his eyes at Lance's antics.

Finally, Lance stopped and flopped Keith and himself down on the couch, hovering over his boyfriend so that he could look him in the eye.

"You're an ass," Keith groaned, rolling his eyes and trying to get up off the couch. But Lance stopped him, placing his palms firmly on Keith's pale chest and pushing him back.

"I know," he said, cocking his head to the side, "but you love me."

Keith raised an eyebrow. "Do I really?"

Lance proceeded to bury his face into Keith's neck, which he knew from experience was an incredibly ticklish spot to Keith, and didn't stop tickling his squirming boyfriend until Keith admitted that he did, in fact, love Lance.

Pulling back, Lance grinned. "Great. Now, let's go eat some of that gingerbread. I'm starving."

a/n: I know I'm a bit behind schedule, I'm sorry! But days 5 and 6 will come tomorrow!
