Lance sees a monster with yellow eyes, sharp fangs, black hair on the back with white hair on the front, purple markings on his face and wearing Japanese clothing while his neck, legs and left arm are chained to the ground but his right arm has a shackle all the way to his right upper arm as Lance watches the growling monster try to break those chains

Lance says "That thing's real. That's the Oni Shiro" Romelle agrees "Yes, the old woman caught him by chance asleep just as she took you. She should never have meddled with a real demon or a real unicorn for that matter because the truth melts her magic, always" the crowd faces Shiro as he growls angrily and hungry for blood while Romelle says "He's going to free himself very soon now and he must not catch you still caged" Sendak sees Romelle and yells "Go on! Get away from there! You know what she told you" Romelle turns to Lance and says "Don't be afraid. Romelle is with you. Do nothing till you hear from me" 

Romelle leaves as Sendak and the crowd arrives and Sendak says "A unicorn" the crowd gasps in amazement at such a beautiful creature like Lance as he looks at them with kindness  and they look at him with smiles and happy tears. Night came as Sendak and Haggar face Shiro who is struggling against the chains as Sendak growls "I don't care how many damn spells you've got on him. Get rid of that Oni! I think about it all the time what he's going to do to us. Get rid of him, Haggar" Haggar scowls "Fool, be still! No other witch in the world holds a demon captive and none ever will. I choose to keep him. I can turn him into wind or snow or into seven notes of music if he escapes"

Shiro is still struggling against the chains as Sendak yells "He's breaking through" Haggar uses her magic to create a muzzle for Shiro as she says "No! Not yet! You're mine. If you kill me, you're still mine" the muzzle is created and placed on Shiro's mouth to keep him from being released as Haggar walks towards Lance and smirks "The Oni's as real as you are and just as immortal and he was just as easy to capture if you want to know" Lance scoffs "Don't boast, old woman. Your death sits in those chains and he hears you" Haggar says "He'll kill me one day or another but he will remember forever that I caught him and I held him prisoner. So, there's my immortality"

Haggar says "Now you were out on the road hunting for your own death and I know where it awaits you. I know him. That one" Lance asks "Do you speak of the Red Lion? Tell me if you do and where he is if you know" Haggar replies "The Red Lion of Prince Lotor! So you know of the lion. Well, he'll not have you, you belong to me" Lance scoffs "You know better. Keep your poor shadows, if you will but let me go" Lance turns to Shiro and begs "And let him go. I can't see him caged. He's real, like me. We're two sides of the same magic, let him go" 

Haggar yells "I'd quit show business first! Do you think I don't know what the true witchery is just because I do what I do? There's not a witch in the world hasn't laughed at Haggar and her homemade horrors but there's not one of them who would have dared" Lance begs "The demon and me, we're not for you" Haggar laughs "Who are you for then? Do you really think those fools knew you without any help from me? No! I had to give you a horn they could see. These days, it takes a cheap carnival trick to make folk recognize a real unicorn but the Red Lion will know you when he sees you so you are safer here. You should thank me for protecting you" Haggar leaves as Romelle arrives

Romelle runs towards Lance and whispers "Romelle is with you. I'm sorry but I couldn't get away any sooner" Lance says "There's never been a spell on me before, there's never been a world in which I wasn't known" Romelle agrees "Oh, I know exactly how you feel. It's a very rare person who's taken for what she truly is" Lance asks "Will you help me" Romelle replies "If not you, no one. You're my last chance" Lance asks "Can you truly set me free?" Romelle replies "Haggar doesn't think so. She sees me as a clumsy fraud and a trickster but I am Romelle the Sorceress! The last of the red-hot swamis and I too am real like you and him. Yes, I will help you" Lance asks "Where is the metal armed man?" Romelle replies "Sendak? Don't worry about him. I asked him a riddle and it always takes that lout all night to solve riddles. And now"

Romelle casts a spell that gives Lance an image of his forest but it disappears in an instant as Romelle says "Sorry, I would've liked that to be the spell that freed you. Let's try this one instead" Romelle chants in a foreign language as she says "This is a super spell. That bars are now as brittle as old cheese which I crumble and scatter so" Romelle touches the bars, screams in pain and says "I must've gotten the accent wrong" Lance begs "Try again, once more. There's very little time left. Hurry" Romelle springs magic dust on the cage hoping it would break but instead it starts to shrink as Romelle stops the spell and says "I dare no more. The next time, I might not be able to"

Lance begs "Try again. The spell was wrong but there was true magic in it. Try again" Romelle says "My friend, you deserve the services of a great sorceress but I'm afraid you'll have to be glad of the aid of a second-rate pickpocket" Romelle shows Lance the keys she stole from Sendak and as she puts one on the lock, it laughs "Some sorceress! Some sorceress" Romelle grumbles "Turn blue" Romelle successfully unlocks the door and says "Step down, sir. You are free" Lance jumps out of the cage as his false horn disappears and he neighs happily but Sendak arrives and asks "Okay Romelle, I give up. Why is a raven like a writing desk?" Lance runs to save the animals as Sendak yells "You stole my keys and let the mare escape?! You little thief! She'll string you in barbed wire to make a necklace for the demon"

Romelle and Sendak fight as she yells "You pile of stones! I'll send all your toenails growing inward if you mess with me" Sendak laughs "Some sorceress! You couldn't turn cream into cheese! You Idiot! You" Lance frees the lion, the monkey, the snake and all the other animals Haggar captured and when he turns to Shiro, he walks towards him as Romelle kicks Sendak off her but when she sees Lance walking toward Shiro, she screams "No, he'll kill you! Run, he'll kill you if you set him free" Lance doesn't hear her and can only hear Shiro beg "Set me free! We are brothers, you and I"

Lance, feeling sorry for Shiro, breaks the muzzle and chains with his horn as Shiro lets out a roar as loud as thunder, releases his bat-like wings from his back and flys as if he hadn't done so in years but Haggar arrives, sees Shiro already free and shrieks "No, Not alone! You never could have freed yourselves alone! I held you" Shiro swoops down and begins to kick Haggar to the ground and continuously kicks her until she's dead with a sadistic smile on his face as Romelle runs towards Lance and screams "Run! You must run! Run away from here now" Lance says "No, come with me. Come with me"

They walk away as Shiro kills Sendak with his kicks as he laughs like a psychopath and Romelle tries to turn around but Lance says "Don't look back and don't run. You must never run from anything immortal. It attracts their attention" Romelle walk with Lance as both the unicorn and the sorceress leave the circus without looking back or running as Shiro finishes his bloodshed and flies away knowing that he is finally free thanks to Lance the Last Unicorn and hoping, praying that somehow he would return to thank him
