That's when the Red Lion appears as Romelle says "Allura, he knows. He knows"  they run as the Red Lion chases them until Lance trips his ankle, Keith comes to his aid and faces the Red Lion while Romelle sumons her magic, chants in a foreign language as the magic transforms Lance back into a unicorn and they run out of the cave with the Red Lion chasing them again until Lance faces him while Lotor watches the whole thing with victory in his hands

Allura, Romelle, Krolia and Keith watch the Red Lion drive Lance to the ocean until Lance runs and the Red Lion chases him as Keith faces Romelle and yells "Do something! You have the power! I'll kill you if you don't do something" Romelle says "I cannot! Not all the magic in the world can help him now" Krolia asks "Then what is magic for? What is the use of sorcery if it can't even save a unicorn" Allura replies "That's what heroes are for" Keit agrees "Of course that is exactly what heroes are for" Keith fights the Red Lion but when it stabs him with its horns, Krolia screams "NOOOO!" Keith falls to the ground and dies as Lotor watches with a smirk

Lance sees Keith lying dead on the ground, Krolia mourning him and then his horn glows as he neighs at the Red Lion and drives him to the ocean as Romelle smiles and says "He's attacking" Allura smiles and says "He's fighting back" Lance faces the Red Lion with courage as the Red Lion touches the water but when Lance sees the Red Lion wearing the same necklace Lotor is wearing, he also notices it glowing, turns around to face Lotor who's necklace is also glowing and realizes that Lotor's controlling the Red Lion and uses his horn to destroy the necklace on the Red Lion's neck while Lotor watches with shock and disbelief as the Red Lion roars knowing he's free and the sea starts rising as the unicorns swim out of the ocean and the Red Lion  walks and drowns in the water while the unicorns run out of the ocean to return to their forests and Lotor sees his necklace no longer glowing and yells "I knew you were the Last! The Last" but he leans too close, falls into the water and drowns

Lancee walks towards Krolia who sees him and sobs "You stayed" Lance looks at Keith, uses his horn to revive him and leaves as Keith wakes up, Krolia hugs him and Keith says "Mother, I had that same dream. No, I was dead" Krolia sobs "It was no dream, Keith. It was real. We saw a unicorn" they all look up at the hill where Lance is as he says "I remember you. I remember" and leaves knowing that he can't stay but when Keith yells "Lance, wait" Krolia stops him and says "Keith, he belongs in the forest. He deserves to be free as do the others" Keith begs "But Mother" Krolia calmly interrupts "We come from two different worlds and some stories don't deserve a happy ending. He's a unicorn and you're a prince. That's something no magic in the world is ever gonna change" Keith feels tears pour out of his eyes as he sobs "But, I love him" Krolia says "If you really love him, you'll let him go" Keith knows Krolia is right but his heart knew he would still miss Lance

Keith, Romelle and Allura are in the forest as Keith says "I will miss you. I never had any friends before" Romelle says "We will come back" Keith says "I wish I could see him just once more to tell him all that's in my heart. He will never know what I really mean to say" Romelle says "He will remember your heart when men are fairytales in books written by rabbits. Of all unicorns, he is the only one who knows what regret and love are" Keith gets on his horse and rides back to his kingdom hoping, praying that somehow he will dream of Lance every night without nightmares

Romelle turns to Allura and says "Come with me" Allura says "I will" they ride on horseback and rest beside a tree until they see Lance, walk toward him and he asks "You are a true sorceress now as you always wished. Does it make you happy?" Romelle says "Well, men don't always know when they're happy but I think so" Allura asks "And you?" Lance replies "I'm a little afraid to go home, I have been mortal and some part of me is mortal yet. I'm no longer like the others for no unicorn was ever born who could regret but now I do. I regret" Romelle says "I'm sorry I've done you evil and can't undo it" Lance smiles and says "No, unicorns are in the world again. No sorrow will live in me as long as that joy. Save one and I thank you for that part too. I will try to go home. Farewell, my friends" 

Lance hears the unicorns neighing as if telling him to come back with them as Allura says "I think they want you back, Lance" Lance says "I will never forget you" Lance neigh and runs with the other unicorns back to their forests but Lance never forgot Keith and every night, he dreams of the young Prince who learned to love him for who he is despite Lance being a unicorn and Keith being human but Keith didn't care who he was or what he was. Their feelings for each other remained unchanged
