The kissing booth.

Keith Kogane doesn't like conforming to society's labels or assumptions. However he knew that with just one look, anyone would know that he's gay.
He smiled softly as the thought crossed his mind.
He was at Pidge's house with his brother Shiro and he really should be sleeping, but the excitement in his stomach was too much to handle.
Just twenty more minutes he had to wait until Pidge's alarm went off. And then one of the best days of his life would commence.
Eighteen minutes later and Keith was grinding his teeth with impatience, the anticipation was almost too much for the raven haired boy to handle.
Finally the alarm rang out and there was a groan from under the mass of Pidge's bed sheets.
Keith shot up and immediately ran over to the bundle on the floor, shaking Pidge in an attempt to get him up.
When said boy sat up with messy hair, Keith ran over to the bed (that Pidge had willingly given up for the night) in which Shiro and Matt were sharing and jumped on top of it, bouncing up and down and yelling at the top of his lungs.
"GET YOUR ASSES OUT OF BED! HOW CAN YOU BE SLEEPING AT A TIME LIKE THIS!?"
Needless to say, Keith was a little (a lot) sleep deprived and also hella ready to start the day, unlike his friends.
"Keith... I get you're excited but could you tone it down a little? You're making my head hurt, it's too early in the morning for this." Shiro said, his voice deep and croaky from lack of use overnight.
"I can't help it! Now get your ass up and get ready, we're gonna miss it!"
"It's called pride day for a reason Keith... we're not gonna miss it. Trust me." Matt said before groaning and cuddling into Shiro more, probably to catch a few more minutes of sleep.
Keith glared at the boy and pounced on top of them, jumping up and down again on all fours.
"Get. Your. Lazy. Asses. Out. Of. Bed. Right. Now. Or. So. Help. Me. I. Will. Get. The. Cold. Water." He growled with each jump.
"Ugh fine, fine. I'm up. Get off me you nerd." Shiro said with a chuckle.
He pushed Matt off of him playfully and joined Keith in trying to wake him up. This resulted in Shiro physically picking up the half asleep boy and making him stand.
"I hate you." He grumbled.
"Yeah, yeah. Whatever." He said before kissing his forehead.
Keith and Pidge were in the corner fanboying at their brothers being An Actual Married Couple™.
"Anyways! Get ready!" Keith yelled just when they thought he had calmed down.
They all chuckled and made about getting dressed.
Yes. Today is going to be Keith's first ever time at gay pride and, as you can imagine, he's pretty pumped.
He opened his bag and layed out the clothes that he had spent ages preparing, making sure that they were crease free.
"I call bathroom first!" He yelled suddenly and then proceeded to grab his things and run down the hall towards the bathroom cackling, Matt running after him because he's always first.
Keith turned on the shower, ignoring Matt who was banging on the door and shouting profanities.
"You snooze, you lose!" He called, earning an extra large thump on the door.
He got in the shower and washed himself with his favourite soap, it made him smell like strawberries... Keith likes strawberries.
When he was done he got out and blow dried his hair before styling it and then he turned to his clothes.
He slipped into a shirt that had the NASA logo and 'Houston I have so many problems' printed on top before (with a bit of a struggle) pulling on his ripped black skinny jeans.
A/N: Okay but I hate putting on jeans after having a shower. It's so difficulttt.
He then unlocked the door and walked back into Matt's room.
"Yeesh, took you long enough." He scoffed playfully.
"Perfection like this takes time, you wouldn't understand." He retorted with a wink, making Pidge high five him.
By the time they were ready to go, it was nine o'clock on the dot.
Keith grabbed his leather jacket and put on his black doctor martins before running in the direction of the train station, pulling Pidge along with him in order to make the other two boys hurry up.
The train journey was pleasant. The four teens played old family games and sent each other into fits of laughter, meaning they got a lot of irritated looks from those commuting to work but they didn't pay much attention.
When they 'fiiiinally' got to their stop Keith jumped up and ran to the doors, which opened just as he got there.
He was immediately met by a crowd of smiling people and loud music booming in his ears.
The other three boys made their way towards him with a disapproving look.
"Don't run off like that." Shiro scolded, using his dad voice for the fiftieth time in the space of twenty minutes.
"Sorry." Keith said, only half meaning it as he looked around in pure joy.
They spent a while talking to some people and they bought a few things.
(Including a massive gay flag that Keith proudly wore as a cape, Pidge doing the same with his transgender flag.)
It got the most interesting however when they came across a smaller crowd huddled by one of the stalls.
"Hey what's that?" Matt asked, pointing towards it.
"Dunno. Let's go see." Shiro said, intertwining his hand with his boyfriends and guiding him over, Keith and Pidge followed behind with small smiles.
The stall was a bright pink and covered in hearts of all sizes, a white banner hung over the top and in big rainbow letters it read:
'T H E K I S S I N G B O O T H.'
They all laughed as a few of the stall workers tried to woo the crowd and failed.
"Okay but seriously, all the money raised is going to a charity that helps get people that have been kicked out of their homes for LGBTQ+ reasons back on their feet. It's an amazing cause and any donations would be highly appreciated." Said a chunky, tanned boy.
"That's right, I was personally helped out by this charity and as Hunk said, it's for an amazing cause." Another cocky looking, brunnette boy said.
'He's really cute...' thought Keith as he watched him.
A dark blush spread across his cheeks as the boy, whose name tag read 'Lance', winked at him and then sent a dazzling smile.
Shiro smirked at him from where he was standing.
"Yaaas, Get some Keith." Matt laughed, making him blush (if possible) even more.
Lance chuckled from where he was standing and then turned to continue his work of collecting money.
"So... donations are normally from about two dollars upwards but anything is fine. When you donate you pick whichever one of us you wanna kiss and you get free candy! The more you donate, the more kisses and candy you get." A girl spoke up, walking out and placing a bucket for donations on the ground before pointing to the truly massive mountain of candy to the side of the stall.
"Man, I would do it but Shiro is too overprotective..." Matt said with a smile as said male pulled him closer to his side.
"What about you Pidge?" Shiro asked, turning to the boy.
He simply shrugged, dropped five dollars into the bucket and then walked over to the worker called Hunk before leaving a small two second kiss on his lips.
The darker teen blushed and smiled wide at Pidge.
"Thanks for your donation! It'll really help." He said softly.
"Don't mention it." Pidge replied with a smile and then he walked back over to his friends and brother, the latter of the two staring at him in shock.
"Keith? You gonna do it?" Shiro asked knowingly.
Keith had been kicked out of his parents house at the young age of thirteen, but now three years later he lived with Shiro at his apartment. He frowned at the memory but he quickly shook the thoughts away and grabbed his wallet.
With a sudden surge of confidence he walked up to the girl and handed her a twenty dollar bill.
"What does that get me?" He smirked.
The girl, Keith remembered Hunk calling her Allura, giggled and put the money in the bucket.
"Well some of our workers are comfortable with things that others aren't, so a twenty dollar bill gets you a make out session if you want it, but you wouldn't be able to pick who you'd like to kiss."
Keith nodded thoughtfully... that's understandable.
"Okay then, I'll take it. Just give me two seconds." He said with a smile and she nodded kindly, telling him to take all the time he needed.
Keith walked back over to his group, who frowned.
"What you're not going in for the kiss?" Matt asked with a raised eyebrow.
"I didn't say that." Keith chuckled as he grabbed the water from his bag and took a few sips.
"Can't have them seeing how thirsty I am now can I?" He said when he was done, making Pidge erupt into tears of laughter and earned them a few weird looks.
He felt a tap on his shoulder and he turned with a smile to see the cute Cuban boy.
"Too late, already saw." He said with a small chuckle and a cocky smirk.
"Darn it, seventeen years I've been hiding it and you had to come and ruin it." Keith said, not missing a beat.
Lance looked surprised, he had expected to catch this hella pretty boy off-guard and make him flustered like he did earlier but clearly that was a one time thing.
Keith didn't understand what had happened but suddenly he understood why Pidge was so confident earlier. Maybe it was the atmosphere of so many accepting people around him, but he felt like he was on top of the world.
"Ah sorry... can I ask what your name is?"
"Keith, Keith Kogane." He said with a smirk, putting extra emphasis on the 'g' and the 'a' to make it clear he's gay as hell.
Lance chuckled and shook his head in amusement.
"Well hi Keith, I'm Lance McClain. I'm the lucky individual that gets to kiss those pretty lips of yours." He said with a smile.
That was what finally cracked Keith.
He blushed and bit his bottom lip in shyness, averting his eyes to the side so he couldn't see those beautiful blue irises.
"Y-you're gonna kiss m-me?" He asked, pointing to himself as if checking he had the right person.
"You're the one that handed over the twenty dollar bill right?"
Keith nodded.
"Well this boy isn't cheap Keith, perfection like this takes time." He said with a wink, using the exact same words that Keith had earlier and making him bite his tongue in disbelief.
"Wow, you two are perfect for each other. That's exactly what he told me this morning." Matt piped up with a glint in his eyes.
Keith threw his water bottle at him without looking and by the sound of the uproar behind him, it hit him straight in the face.
Lance laughed and stepped a little closer.
"So... about that kiss." He said, smiling as if he knew how fast it made Keith's heart beat.
"What about it?" Keith said, deciding to be a tease.
"Uh... is it gonna happen orrr?"
"You tell me handsome."
Keith's smirk reappeared as Lance blushed and took another step forward, so that their faces were only a few centimeters apart.
"Yes?" Lance answered before closing the distance between them and connecting their lips.
Keith brought his hand up to the back of Lance's neck as Lance's came to cup Keith's cheeks.
The noise of Matt kicking off behind them had stopped and Keith could only imagine their faces right now.
The thought was discarded however when he felt Lance's tongue glide across his bottom lip, asking for entrance. He smiled and parted his mouth slightly, their tongues meeting in the middle.
"Oh God no, Pidge cover your eyes. You're too young, too innocent." Shiro piped up dramatically, making Matt laugh and call bullshit because Pidge is far from innocent.
Lance meanwhile, had moved his hands to Keith's waist, he put his fingers through the belt loops of his jeans and pulled his body closer to his own whilst tilting his head to deepen the kiss.
Shiro groaned.
In the end the group had to just leave them to it and they walked off for a while, deciding to watch the parade.
The two where still at it when they came back an hour later, Allura handed Pidge two baskets of candy and then one to Matt because apparently Keith had oh so generously donated another forty dollars.
Keith whined loudly as Shiro pulled him away from Lance by the collar of his jacket.
"I don't wanna go yet!"
"Keith, if you carry on then you'll never want to go!"
"No complaints here." Lance said as he ran over and picked Keith up, said boy wrapping his legs around Lance's waist.
"Ugh fine. Make your own way home. Stay safe!" Shiro called.
"And he means that in more ways than one!" Matt shouted after him.
Keith didn't hear them very well however as he was too busy making out with Lance to listen.
Keith didn't come home that night.
Instead he stumbled through the door to Lance's apartment only to be pinned against it the moment it was shut.
Definitely the best day of his life, and certainly the best night of his life too.
If you know what I mean.
