"He's not coming Rachel." Kurt said as he looked down and fiddled with his wedding ring.
"Kurt he's going to come. Remember he was on tour. He's coming from his last venue in D.C. There may just be traffic."
"Opening night of my first Broadway show and he's not here." Kurt said not listening to a word his best friend was saying.
"Ok Kurt you're on!" the director called.
"Break a leg!" Rachel said as she kisses his cheek.
"Thanks." Kurt replied, taking a deep breath and taking his wedding ring off and handing it to Rachel.
He took his place on stage and the curtain went up. The spot light shined on his face and he knew this is where he was meant to be. Broadway, New York, that was his dream. But his real dream was Blaine. It always has been and always will be. Although they were married and bonded for life, his dream is to be with Blaine for the rest of his life.
He started to sing and he felt like no one was watching. He was so comfortable on stage, he wasn't even nervous anymore.
I've learned to slam on the brake
Before I even turn the key
Before I make the mistake
Before I lead with the worst of me
Give them no reason to stare
No slipping up if you slip away
So I've got nothing to share
No, I got nothing to say
This was an unusual part for Kurt. He was afraid he wasn't going to get it because of his high voice. The man who played the role before (Ben Platt) had a deeper voice. Although Kurt had these thoughts he realized the directors chose him for a reason and he couldn't be happier to be portraying Evan.
Step out, step out of the sun
If you keep getting burned
Step out, step out of the sun
Because you've learned, because you've learned
On the outside always looking in
Will I ever be more than I've always been?
'cause I'm tap, tap, tapping on the glass
I'm waving through a window
I try to speak, but nobody can hear
So I wait around for an answer to appear
While I'm watch, watch, watching people pass
I'm waving through a window
Oh, can anybody see, is anybody waving
Back at me?
We start with stars in our eyes
We start believing that we belong
But every sun doesn't rise
And no one tells you where you went wrong
Step out, step out of the sun
If you keep getting burned
Step out, step out of the sun
Because you've learned, because you've learned
On the outside always looking in
Will I ever be more than I've always been?
'cause I'm tap, tap, tapping on the glass
Waving through a window
I try to speak, but nobody can hear
So I wait around for an answer to appear
While I'm watch, watch, watching people pass
Waving through a window
Oh, can anybody see, is anybody waving?
Kurt looked into the crowd and to Blaine's seat. First row. He was no where to be found. He tried to keep going with the song and not think too much about it. This was his night. He wasn't going to let Blaine ruin it.
When you're falling in a forest and there's nobody around
Do you ever really crash, or even make a sound
When you're falling in a forest and there's nobody around
Do you ever really crash, or even make a sound
When you're falling in a forest and there's nobody around
Do you ever really crash, or even make a sound
When you're falling in a forest and there's nobody around
Do you ever really crash, or even make a sound
Did I even make a sound
Did I even make a sound
It's like I never made a sound
Will I ever make a sound?
Suddenly he saw a figure scurrying down the isles and he sat in Blaine's seats. Why did someone take his seat? Wait. It's Blaine. Is it true? Did he really come?
On the outside always looking in
Will I ever be more than I've always been
'cause I'm tap, tap, tapping on the glass
Waving through a window
I try to speak
But nobody can hear
So I wait around for an answer to appear
While I'm watch, watch, watching people pass
Waving through a window
Can anybody see, is anybody waving back at me?
Oooh, is anybody waving
Waving, waving, whoa-oh, whoa-oh-oh-oh
Yup this is true. Blaine shot up out of his seat and clapped rapidly. He even yelled 'Go Kurt!' Then he turned the woman next to him and said 'that's my husband!' very proudly.

After the show Kurt was talking to the cast until he felt a tap on his shoulder. He turned to see it was his husband smiling brightly with a dozen red roses in his hands.
"There's my shining star." Blaine said.
"You came." Kurt said giving Blaine a hug.
"Of course I did. I would never miss your opening night. You killed it out there, I'm so proud of you." Blaine said.
"I got you these flowers!" Blaine continued and handed them to Kurt.
"They are beautiful." Kurt stated and sniffed the roses.
"Kurt I missed you so much." Blaine said and moved closer to Kurt. "The tour has been really hard without you."
"I missed you too." Kurt replied and kissed his husband. They have been apart for a month but once in a while Kurt would fly out to see one of his shows.
"Well just think, tomorrow's my last night of the tour. You're coming right?" Blaine asked.
"Of course, I wouldn't miss it for the world." Kurt replied.
"Thank you. Ok now you go have fun at your party." Blaine said walking away.
"Hey! Where are you going?" Kurt questioned.
"I'm going home."
"No way, your coming to the party with me. You're my husband, we're in this together." Blaine smiled and walked back over to Kurt.
"You know I love you right?" Blaine asked.
"Hmm I'm not sure if you do love me." Kurt said jokingly.
"Kurt Elizabeth Hummel, I love you more than words can describe. I love everything about you, I love your hair, eyes, nose, fashion sense, shall I go on? You are the most important person in my life." Blaine exaggerated
"Well Mr. Romeo, that was very sweet but I love you more." Kurt said as he grabbed Blaine's hand and headed out the stage door.
-----------------------------------------------------
"Go have fun. I love you and I can't wait to see you after the show." Kurt said to his husband. This was Blaine's final night on tour, it was in New York so Kurt was very pleased he could make it, it was even better because his nightly show had finished already.
"Thank you. Good luck kiss?" Blaine asked.
Kurt rolled his eyes and gave him a quick peck on the lips. "Now go Mr. Anderson-Hummel, I can hear the crowd chanting your name." Blaine laughed and ran on stage with lots of energy. Kurt loved seeing Blaine like this, his husband was happy with what he does for a living. Blaine was meant to be a singer. A pop singer, not someone on Broadway. Of course he would do well where ever he went though.
Blaine interacted with the crowd by having them sing song lyrics with them. At this point he sang his original songs Not Alone, We Like It, and Lost Boys Life. Kurt enjoyed watching Blaine perform, he is so talented.
"Ok everyone. I got a story to tell." Kurt looked confused but he knew Blaine and he knew it was for a reason.
"Ok so before I became a musician and signing albums, EP's and singles, I thought my dream was to preform on Broadway." There was a mix of cheers and boos among the audience.
"One day, someone that knows me better than I know myself said to me 'Blaine, I know Broadway isn't your dream. You can deny it all you want but I know it's true. Broadway is my dream, I don't expect it to be yours. I want you to be happy. I know that whatever you do, you will be great at.' I really want to dedicate this next song to that person." Kurt smiled remembering the memory. His smile grew wider as he realized that Blaine was dedicating a song to him.
"So, you guys know I'm gay, I told you all that a while ago." Cheers erupted and Blaine laughed. "Okay, Okay. So what I haven't told you all yet is that I'm in a relationship." There were many gasps and happiness throughout the concert hall.
"You see, this person I have known since I was 16 and he was 17. Now I call him my husband. I've never told you guys because I was afraid for his safety. But last night was his opening night on Broadway and seeing him up there on that stage made me realize that I want everyone to know. I will tell the world! I'm in love with him and nothing can change that." Kurt had tears and his eyes and he had this urge to run on stage to give Blaine a hug.
"Kurt, will you please come out on stage." Blaine asked and he looked to the wings.
Kurt was very hesitant. He decided to do it and walked very slowly on stage. Blaine went up to him, took his hand and led him to a stool that was placed next to another stool. Blaine sat in the seat and picked up the guitar. This caused many happy fans and they kept on screaming.
"Ok Kurt, this is for you..."
When your legs don't work like they used to before
And I can't sweep you off of your feet
Will your mouth still remember the taste of my love
Will your eyes still smile from your cheeks
And darling I will be loving you 'til we're 70
And baby my heart could still fall as hard at 23
And I'm thinking 'bout how people fall in love in mysterious ways
Maybe just the touch of a hand
Oh me I fall in love with you every single day
And I just wanna tell you I am
So honey now
Take me into your loving arms
Kiss me under the light of a thousand stars
Place your head on my beating heart
I'm thinking out loud
Maybe we found love right where we are
When my hair's all but gone and my memory fades
And the crowds don't remember my name
When my hands don't play the strings the same way, mm
I know you will still love me the same
'Cause honey your soul can never grow old, it's evergreen
Baby your smile's forever in my mind and memory
I'm thinking 'bout how people fall in love in mysterious ways
Maybe it's all part of a plan
I'll just keep on making the same mistakes
Hoping that you'll understand
But baby now
Take me into your loving arms
Kiss me under the light of a thousand stars
Place your head on my beating heart
I'm thinking out loud
That maybe we found love right where we are, oh
So baby now
Take me into your loving arms
Kiss me under the light of a thousand stars
Oh darling, place your head on my beating heart
I'm thinking out loud
That maybe we found love right where we are
Oh maybe we found love right where we are
And we found love right where we are
Kurt had tears flowing down his cheeks. He couldn't hold it in. Blaine just did one of the most romantic things of all time.
The crowd erupted in applause and hollers.
"Everyone. This is the love of my life. He comes to all the shows he can, he picks me up when I'm down, he helps me write songs, he sings with me. He makes me feel safe. Kurt I love you." Blaine said standing up.
Kurt stood up also and walked to Blaine. "I-I love you too. So, so much." Kurt didn't care about all the people, he decided to give Blaine a kiss. Once they pulled away, even more cheering began. Kurt hugged Blaine and smiled the biggest smile he has ever smiled.
"Would you like to sing a duet with me?" Blaine asked.
"I'd be honored."
