It doesn't matter

Kurt, bottom of the high school food chain, glee club singer, straight A student, openly gay and the nerdiest kid in school.

Blaine, top of the high school food chain, star football player, fairly good student, openly gay, coolest kid in school.

Blaine had met Kurt at the Lima Bean a few months back and they immediately hit it off. They started dating about 2-3 weeks after they met but they both had felt like they have known each other forever.

Hey honey, meet me at the football field after you finish your glee club meeting❤️
- Blaine

Kurt laughed at his boyfriend. Ever since he found out Kurt was kicker for the football team at one point, he wanted to pass a football around almost everyday after school.

Kurt had sat through glee in the back just listening to Rachel go on and on about what duet her and Finn were going to sing for regionals.

Finally the beautiful sound of the ringing bell came over the intercom and Kurt practically ran out of the choir room.

He couldn't wipe the smile off of his face, he loved being with Blaine and more importantly,
Blaine loved being with him.

When Kurt appeared outside on the football field he found no trace of Blaine. Knowing Blaine, Kurt knew he's always on time and should be here.

Suddenly he caught a glimpse of a body, laying right next the the fence near the bleachers.

"Blaine?" Kurt breathed to himself.

Kurt sprinted over the body and gasped when he saw it was Blaine but with bruises and a bloody nose. The worst was that he was passed out.

"Blaine!" Kurt screamed kneeling right next to Blaine.

He checked for a pulse and luckily he had one.

"Please wake up!" Kurt grazed his thumb across Blaine's cheek.

Kurt took his phone out of his pocket, his hands shaking, he quickly called Finn to see what he should do.

"Hey Kur-"

"Finn! I need your help." Kurt was crying at this point.

"Are you okay, what happened???"

"It's B-Blaine. We were going to meet outside on the football field after glee but when I came out I saw Blaine passed out bleeding with bruises, gosh Finn I'm so scared."

"I'll be right out, don't move, I'm calling an ambulance now."

Kurt hung up and started to run his hand through Blaine's curls. He placed Blaine's head gently on this lap and he hugged him tight.

"You're going to be okay." Kurt cried.

He suddenly caught a glimpse of a little piece of paper sticking out of Blaine's letterman jacket pocket.

He picked it up and started reading, making him burst into tears.

Yup, this is what your little boyfriend gets for dating you. You did this to him. This is your fault. If you two fairies weren't together, he wouldn't be unconscious right now. He deserves what he got for dating a nerd like you.

"It's my fault." Kurt whispered to himself.

After 5 minutes he felt a hand on his shoulder and he looked up to see it was Finn.

"The ambulance is here, they are gonna take Blaine now, okay?"

Kurt shook his head frantically.

"I'm not leaving him."

Finn sighed and looked at the paramedics.

"I'm sorry son but you can't come."

Kurt cried even more and he wasn't letting go.

Finn had no choice he grabbed Kurt and restrained him while they took Blaine away.

"NO! LET ME GO! HE NEEDS ME!!" Kurt sobbed and tried to break free from Finn.

They started to roll the stretcher to the ambulance and Kurt cried more.

"BLAINE!! BLAINE!! BLAINE NEEDS ME FINN, LET ME GO!!" He screamed. "Let me go." He said quieter before falling to the floor sobbing.

"Kurt, Blaine's going to be okay." Finn tried to console his step brother.

Kurt shook his head and handed the note to Finn.

He was furious but before reporting the note he had to drive Kurt to the hospital.

By the time they got there Blaine was in his room, awake and Kurt couldn't be more thankful.

Kurt knocked on the door and he heard a faint "come in"

Kurt took and deep breath and walked into the room. But once he saw Blaine, he ran to his bedside and started crying.

"Hi." Kurt whispered.

"Hey." Blaine smiled.

"I was so worried." Kurt placed his hand in Blaine's.

"Look, I'm still here and I'm okay."

"But- but, when I found you, you were passed out and, oh Blaine I'm so glad you're okay."

Blaine kissed Kurt's hand and smiled.

"It's nice to know I have someone that cares about me this much."

"Always." Kurt replied.

The door opened and Kurt reluctantly pulled his hand away.

"Hello I'm Nurse Williams and I'm here to fill you in on what's happening." The man said, he was very nice in fact.

"Are you his brother?" The doctor asked Kurt.

"N-no, his boyfriend."

"Oh well it's lovely to meet you, what is your name."

"Kurt."

"Blaine is it okay if Kurt hears about your injuries."

Blaine smiled. "Of course."

"Okay well Blaine you have two fractured ribs, a broken nose and some serious bruising in the abdomen area. Also-"

"Also?" Kurt asked.

"Yes, there is one more thing, Blaine you also have some internal bleeding so we will have to take you into surgery."

Kurt shook his head and tears started to fall.

"Kurt, I'll be okay, I'm promise." Blaine tried to hold Kurt's hand but Kurt pulled away.

"It's all my fault." Kurt breathed to himself.

"That's insane, this isn't your fault. It's Karofsky's and Azimio's."

"No Blaine you don't get it. You are he most popular kid in school and I'm not. I'm on the bottom of the high school food chain. I am in glee club for crying out loud. It's my fault because you are dating me and that's why they beat you up."

The whole room fell silent.

"I'll give you two a minute." The nurse spoke and left the room.

Kurt was crying and Blaine was staring at him shocked.

"Come here. Sit."

Kurt sighed and sat on the side of Blaine on the hospital bed, facing towards him.

"They left a note saying they beat you up because you are dating me. Blaine I can't have you get hurt again."

Blaine sniffled and grabbed Kurt's hand.

"It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter what they think. Kurt I love you. I said it, I love you. Nothing can change that. Not even stupid popular people. I don't care if you are in glee club, I don't care if you're a nerd, I love you. It doesn't matter what everyone else thinks."

Kurt cried at Blaine's words.

"I love you so much Blaine."

Blaine patted the space next to him and he took Kurt into his arms even if he was a little sore.

"We may have only been dating for a few months but Kurt, you're the one for me. I strongly believe that."

Kurt's breathing evened and he looked up at Blaine.

"Me too. But Blaine, I'm scared what people will do when you come back to school. What will they think-"

"Kurt, say it after me. It doesn't matter."

"It doesn't matter." Kurt laughed.

"Yes." Blaine said. "It doesn't matter what people think or what people say. We have each other and that's enough."

Kurt placed a kiss onto Blaine's lips and they cuddled in comfortable silence.

At that moment, nothing else mattered.

What all those people had said about their relationship or what people had thought about them.

It didn't matter.
