Rahul is a Bachelor in this os and is in the team for 4 yrs now

It was another day in the world of ict, an home odi series was going on with full spirits, every one was giving their best, as the matches were going on in banglore, the team was making full use of the free time by enjoying their time together apart from the practices, youngsters too were enjoying their party life, of course after taking permission from their Seniors and promising them that they won't do anything unnecessary, today the senior were spending time with their junior, for instance rohit, virat were spending time with jassi and hardik as it had been days these two kids got alone time with their bros, for a change shrey took the responsibility of handling the kids today ya you could say he was showing them magic tricks

A certain rahul could be seen walking very fast almost running to his hotel room in order to make sure that he doesn't gets scolded,yes he too was a senior now it wasn't like he had to give any one explanations but then he was still a kid to his big brothers, he had gone out to meet some friends in the afternoon and informed before hand that he will be back before the dinner but now he was past dinner time ,not only past dinner it was past the curfew and he didn't even had dinner, as he got to his floor he, saw vi waiting for the lift

"Mil liya doston se, itni late ho gyi ? " Asked virat seeing rahul

"Ha mil aya , wo thoda late hogaya"answered rahul nervously

" Dinner kiya? " Asked virat chuckling a little, even after all these yrs rahul still got nervous around him, so he thought of teasing him a bit "don't tell me you didn't " With a fake glare

It was around the time when rahul had joined ict Rahul was special to him, for rahul he felt a sense of responsibility, virat was new to this concept of big brother thing, he obviously had never done it before, it was more confusing for him because this kid never really seemed have shown emotions openly, one moment he had called virat "bhaiya" And the other moment he was back to cap or vi,but he understood one thing this guy was like him he had seen himself in rahul, just a little more quite and sane

Rahul was a really sensitive kid but nobody knew this because of course he masked it well, he wasn't some one who would cry in front of any one or complain about being bothered, in fact he would not even communicate his worries, way too much mature (read idiot) kid.

Virat on the other hand was some one who believed in tough love, every one has their own ways and this was his. From training to diet to restrictions ,virat was stricter with him, being the first kid Rahul

The senior hadn't like yuvi and mahi hadn't join till now as the team reached a week before matches

Rahul was late only by a few mins in the morning practice, everyone was waiting for him to board the bus when he reached and a certain virat kohli was eyeing daggers at him

Rahul was not able look into his eyes so, he just sat down on his seat, the bus reached and everyone started their practice, Rahul was done with the warm up when virat came to him

"What was the time for boarding the bus today" Asked virat

"9:15"

"the whole team was made to wait for u" Said virat

"I am sorry, for being late" Said Rahul apologizing sincerely

"Sorry is not gonna mend your mistakes Rahul this is happening 2nd time in 3days " Said virat in the captain tone

"Today u will stay back and will train for extra 2hrs and you are not joining the team bonding sessions today" Said virat and walked away

Rahul felt bad but, he didn't let it show on his face, instead he started practicing , with determination

BACK AT HOTEL

rahul was back after the extra training, totally exhausted, , he had no energy so he directly went to the dining area , virat was already present there, rahul sat on a table

"Rahuliya come , lunch kar lo" Said virat carresing his hair

"Acha baba now, eat and pura finish karna hai" Said virat setting up the plates

Normally, after punishment, one gets pampered with good food but virat being the Dumbhead he is ,got rahul an ultra nutritious green salad coz rahul needs energy and a glass milk with papaya leaves mixed in it as apparently rahul had just recovered from dengue

"No pls not that shitty thing , I will eat the salad but not that " Whinned rahul

Virat was surprised, seeing rahul whine like that, coz rahul never did t, but he knew that he can't give in, rahul needed to drink that so he did what mahi bhai used to do with him

"Not at all u are drinking that too, I want no tantrums" Said virat sternly

"But it's yuck" Said rahul making a face

"Medicines are yuck now come on start eating" Said virat , if mahi bhai was here, he would have surely fainted

rahul did not at all wanted to have that green milk, but virat would not let him stand up before doing so , also he was in no mood to see an angry virat so he decided to behave like a good kid and drank the milk

"Aa jau mai bhi team bonding sessions mei pls" Said rahul he didn't want to be all alone in his room

"Nhi u will not come, go and sleep" Said virat as he saw rahul was tired

But rahul took it in other way, thought virat is still angry on him for what happened in the morning, not wanting to further annoy him he went quietly in his room, rahul didnt even come out for dinner, he ordered in his room and slept early so that he doesn't gets late by any chance

after practice, every one was back in their rooms, it was an early morning practice so, it ended rather early too, rahul was being bored in his room, he was the only junior at the series so obviously he had no one to spend time with this was his first ever odi. Series , he was comfortable with virat but these days virat was being strict with him so was reluctant to call him and other Seniors, they seemed like a dream so he decided he would go out to stroll in the park and be back before lunch,

He went to a nearby park, started clicking pictures and then he saw a group of teens playing cricket, he went near them and the kids asked him to join, he had a lot of fun it seemed like he was back to his teenager yrs, after the mini match rahul even took the kid for a ice cream treat but didnt had one himself because after recovering from dengue virat had given him clear warning to not to touch ice creams, before he knew it was 8:30, he had totally forgot that he didn't inform anyone, he was getting back when he saw bhuvi, ash and rohit pacing frantically, only then he remembered what he did

"Oh god rahul u are back finally" Said rohit relieved

"Where were u, we have been searching for u for hours" Said ash

"Where is your phone" Asked bhuvi this time

Rahul was about to answer him when virat came and hugged him so tightly that Rahul was not able to breathe, then broke the hug and god he looked so angry that his face had turned red

"Where were u " Asked virat very calmly

"Actually i went our for a stroll and then saw kids were playing and and I joined them too, I didn't see the time

Rahul was so scared seeing virat shout like that with him, in no time tears well up in eyes, it wasn't like he has never been shouted at before but, when your big brother does it, it different kinds of hurt

" I sor.. ry vi, sor.. ry " Tried rahul

" Do not at all say sorry if u don't mean it, just don't. I am not going to tolerate any kind of indiscipline in my team, tomorrow I want you at the ground shrap at 5 am "said virat sternly leaving a crying rahul

Only if virat stayed he would have saw rahul getting a anxiety attack, so bad that he started hyperventilating

NEXT MORNING

Next morning rahul woke up around 4 and found himself on the couch of the lounge area, immediately remembered what happened last night, tears started welling up again but this time he controlled himself and quickly went to his room to take a shower and reached the ground, virat came after around 15 mins after him

"U will run 25 laps with your kit bag and will not stop even for once before completing 10 laps, after that burpees for half an hour then finally 50 sits ups in the middle of the ground , while u do sit ups say that u wont every go out before informing someone "said virat in a no nonsense tone and sat on a chair

Rahul quickly started with his punishment, he did what virat asked him to do , he finished laps, burpees and sit ups. After such physical exertion he was very tired , his legs were sore that he could hardly stand, his body was throbbing but virat didnt seem to have any mercy , during the 32nd sit up he collapsed on the ground , virat came to him and held him sit up and made him have some water after doing so, rahul tried to get up

"Kya kar raha hai rah, your legs are already cramped up " Said virat helding him down

" Bha..iya Wo.. Wo.. Ab... Hi sit sit up..s are left to co..mp..lete" Said rahul looking at the ground

"Ho gayi ab punishment, u have done more than enough" Said virat while he scooped rahul in his arms like a baby and took him back in the car

Virat had the physio, check rahul , the physio told virat that rahul would need proper rest and medicines, rahul wasn't very much strong physically. Now that virat was back to his senses he really felt bad about how harshly he punished rahul

"Sorry kiddo, bhaiya zada hi gusse mei aa gaye the" Said virat sitting beside rahul he was already crying seeing rahul so exhausted

After 3hrs Or so rahul stirred up from the sleep and found himself in his room, virat had his hand on his head, and was sleeping In a sitting position, rahul tried to get down to drink water as soon as he tried doing that he stumbled as he got a cramp, he would have fallen straight on his face if not virat had held him

"Kya kar raha hai rahuliya abhi lag jati na kya jarurat thi uthne ki " Said virat raising his voice a little mind you only a little

"Wa..nted so.me some wate..r " Said rahul clutching the bed sheet thinking virat was again angry

Virat saw but thought that he did it because of pain due to cramp so helped him have water and started massaging his legs, rahul winced as virat pressed certain points, trying to take back his legs but virat had held them firmly massaging

"I know dard ho raha hai, hold on for a while, I will massage the cramp out" Said virat to pacify rahul

Virat took good care of rahul, feeding him giving him medicine, not letting him step down from the bed, in short fussing over him like a mother hen, rahul recovered and the series started the remaining members joined too , one thing that happened was rahul got more quiter than he usually was with virat, he started stammering when around virat ,not looking at him directly. Virat did notice when a couple of things happened

1ST INSTANCE

Rahul was playing fifa in his, room usually virat would join him but as soon as virat came he almost threw the controller from his hands, switching off the TV

"I w.as abo..ut to sle..ep, I kno..w we, we ha..ve pra..cti..ce tom..orrow, I sho..uldn't be playing at ni..ght i was wa..iti..ng for din..ner th..at's wh..y I too..k it o..ut" Said rahul frantically

"Rah I know why getting so worked up I know you will not play it for the whole night, I just came to join u, bohot din ho gaye we didn't have a fifa face off" Said virat all this while rahul was still looking down not responding

"Acha thik hai u have your dinner and rest, kisi aur din khelenge" Said virat as he observed rahul was acting weird

2ND INSTANCE

The very next day they were all boarding the bus for practice, now rahul made sure that he reached 15 before for any team related stuff, so he went and plopped on the window seat which were at the front, one by one everyone arrived, virat, yuvi and mahi all arrived together, when mahi bhai took a seat and virat was about to take it too when yuvi signalled him towards rahul mouthing "let's prank him , remember what I did with ro same thing". When yuvi was here how could prank stay away, so virat signed him to start

" Hey u , you are kl rahul right "asked yuvi in his intimidating tone

" Yes sir, I am rahul, u need anything "said rahul nervously of course anyone would be nervous around yuvraj singh

" Well I need, my seat , don't u have any basic knowledge, how can u sit here without permission "said yuvi

" Sorry sir I had no idea this is your seat, warna nhi bhaita mai" Said rahul

"Now talking back, Kids these days have no discipline and Virat what are you teaching him, he is your junior na " Said yuvi again further

"What is this behavior rahul, is this what I taught u" Said virat with a fake glare trying to control his smile

As virat spoke, Rahul thought virat is again gonna blast at him coz he did something wrong

"No.. Sir Pls.. Pls... Don't tell vir...at any any thi..ing, it's it's m...m.my fa...ult, he teac...hes me to to be a go...d, I.. am so...rry I w..on't sit her...e , vir...at I di..dnt do it it on purp..use.."

Yuvi somehow got that rah is getting anxious so he dropped the act and decided to calm the kid

"Hey kid I was joking u can sit here, aur yeh sir wir mat bol call me yuvi pa, ok. no one is angry, u are not indisciplined, breathe in and out" Said yuvi as he made rahul sit

Virat watched all this, he definitely got that rahul is getting scared in his presence, after that punishment thing rahul hadn't even looked at virat, he made up his mind to make rahul understand that he wasn't going to be angry at him like that again

All while the practice was going on virat had his eyes on rahul, rahul looked disoriented today, he wasn't focussing on the balls Misjudging them , which was very rare , his trance broke as, mahi bhai put a hand on his shoulder

"Cheeku kya hua, kab se dekh raha hu sirf rahul ki taraf dekh raha hai, kuch hua hai?? Naraz hai wo?" Asked mahi bhai

"Bhai itna naraz hai ke meri taraf dekh ke baat bhi nhi kar raha jaise hi mai aata hu chup ho jata hai " Said virat as he explained what happened in these few days

"Oh god cheeku kitna, kya kiya uske sath, ho jati hai galti, pehli baar kiya tha na chd deta, jab daant laga di thi toh punishment ki kya jarurat thi that too this harsh" Said mahi bhai Face palming

"I know I am such a bad brother, i made him scared of me , ek kaam nhi kar sakta mei sahi se" Said virat Remorsely

"Virat u are not a bad brother, u handled him the way u knew the way you were treated, bas tum logo ke sath aise pehli baar mai kabhi nhi kiya maine, on the top of that kid seems really sensitive, dekhta nhi hai that he needs something mgr hai toh sirf 20 yrs kana, obvious he will look for affection"

"Ab kyaa karu, how do I make him understand, ke aage se repeat nhi karunga yeh sab " Said virat with moist eyes

"Not every one is the same cheeku, from what you told me seems like he doesn't like when you raise your voice at him, try to soft and don't go hard on him yeh tough love nhi kaam karta har kisi ke upar, watch your yuvi pa only seems so strong no, jammy bhai Sirf gusse mei yuvraj bol de na toh he starts crying, now stop sulking and go to your kid

When they were talking, ash came, he was to join the practice sessions late today, as he had a physio therapy session,

"Hey vi, mahi bhai"said ash

"Hi ash, how was your physio sessions, what did the physio say " Asked mahi bhai

"I am fine bhai, the physio said my sprain is already healing ,told me to rest bowling for today, I can bat, I asked him" Said ash

"That's rahul na, why did he come to practice, he had a terrible headache in the morning" Said ash worried watching rahul

"But he reached the bus, before any of us did, did he tell you before boarding the bus? " Asked bhai

"What do mean by he has a headache, he didn't tell me,if he told u, why did you let him come" Asked virat hurt that rahul now didn't even inform when he was unwell, was this because of the scolding he gave the day rahul was late

"No he didn't tell me, I saw him asking the physio for balm, physio even told him to stay back but see he came" Said ash

Virat listened no further, but sprinted to rahul, who had taken a small break but again as he saw virat he was going in the nets

"Rahul don't go inside the nets, chal practice over" Said virat dragging Rahul out

Virat called off the practice for today, there was a imp thing to do , so he decided he will confront rahul after they reach, first his headache needs to be taken care of, so when virat went to rahul, he was sitting on the couch, clutching his head

"Rah " Called virat softly

"Ha bhai.. I.. Re..mem..ber we ha..ve gy..m , I wi..ll be on... " Said rah sitting straight as virat entered

" , I didn't come to tell u about gym. Hmm, ok. I bought this oil, headache hai na ,come I will massage your head" Said virat as softly as he could

"I.. am fi..ne, y..ou gi..ve I w..ill ap..ply th..is oil " Stuttered rahul looking down

virat was hurting watching the kid he took under his wing,like that, the one he promised he will protect no matter what, was not even looking straight into his eyes, did he fail being a big brother

"Kiddo meri Taraf, dekhaga bhi nhi, itna gussa hai ? " Asked virat cupping his face

It seemed like rahul was just waiting for virat to say this, rahul dashed into his arms hiding his face in his shoulder just like he did for the first time, he started crying bitterly as if everything he wanted to say was coming out through tears, virat had held him even tighter, rubbing his back

"I am sorry , kiddo I am sorry, I didn't mean to hurt you kiddo , I didn't knew u were getting this affected by my word" Said virat

"Bhaiya pls don't be angry, I will not disappoint you, I don't like when you shout at me" Mumbled rahul still in shoulder

"I promise rah I promise, it was the first and last time, ajj ke baad kabhi nhi chilaunga" Said virat cradling him

"Acha listen baccha now, can u pls stop crying, sar dard hai na badh jayega, pls kiddo shant ho ja, bhaiya ke liye" Said virat breaking the hug wipings his tears while rahul was still sobbing

Virat had now made rahul lie down with his head on his lap, he was massaging rahul's head to ease out the pain, muttering sweet words every now and then, eventually rahul had snuggled close to virat's stomach almost hiding, while the room service came with lunch

"Acha kiddo, get up lunch kar lete hai, phir so jana " Said virat

"Nhi na vi bhuk nhi lagi" Said rahul yawning

"Ara kaise nhi lagi, kaafi Der ho gaya hai breakfast kiye " Asked virat

"Pls na virat, I don't wanna have that green wala milk now pls," Said rahul

" Acha dekh toh what did I order "said virat chuckling ruffling his hair

" Nhi u will make me drink that milk if I get up"whinned rahul

So virat picked up the glass of chocolate milk shake and bought it near rahul, who immediately got up and took the glass from his hand

"Ara Ara pi lene pehle lunch karo, uske baad " Said virat taking the glass back and uncovering the food

"Dosa!! Really mere liye hai? " Beemed rahul happily

"Ha kiddo, aur kis ke liye hoga chalo now open your mouth" Said virat feeding rahul

that day, when virat had made rahul sleep by patting his head , rahul had clutched him in his sleep mumbling "bhaiya don't be angry I don't like it" Virat made sure after that to treat rahul as if he was the most precious thing in the whole world, his own kid, and if someone saw the fitness freaking virat taking rahul out for ice creams or taking rahul to different restaurants to try new dishes because rahul liked it, nobody said a thing,after that day virat did not at all back out from openly favouring rahul, ever if he was late or wanted to skip some gym session to play fifa virat was all cool because in his opinion he would rather burn the world than seeing tears in rahul's eyes.

Watching rahul so engrossed in the thoughts shrey had taken all the kids out thinking rahul isn't feeling well, he had meet virat in the corridor who was heading towards rahul with dinner and told him the same

"Umm virat bhai i think na rahul isn't well i guess " Said shrey

"Ha vi bhai aur wo na bohot Overthink bhi kar rahe hai bilkul ap ki tarah, keh rahe hai ke ap linent nhi ho , aur ham ap ko nhi jante abhi" Said ishan

"Ok ok, dekhta hu mai kya hua usse kya baat hui hai , u guys go " Said virat

When virat went to rahul he was walking back and forth in the room, hitting his nail so he decided to tease rahul a bit after all virat will be virat

"Rahul" Said virat breaking Rahul 's trance

"Bhai bhai listen , I wanted to be back before the cerfew but then, some more friends came I couldn't say no, phir when I decided ke come back, cabs kept on getting cancelled, after an hour or so I got the cab tab traffic mei phass gaya" Said Rahul in one go

Virat was trying very hard to stiffle his laugh but he wanted to drag it a bit so

"Acha pata hai na, staying out after curfew is not allowed, toh punishment toh milni chaiye, go stand in that corner and hold your ears" Said virat biting his fingers to stop the laugh

Rahul did as he was asked, out of habit all this time he was looking down so he had no idea that virat is teasing him

"Kal se ek week tak you will spend 1

That was it virat couldn't hold it any more he fell on the floor laughing like no tomorrow, mimicking Rahul in between

Rahul realised that what virat did,he was fooled and made a idiot out of himself and now he was scrowling

"I hate u virat, I hate u , I thought u were again going to punish me " Huffed rahul like a kid sitting on the bed crossing his arms

"Awwww rahuliya, but i love, kitna bhola hai yaar tu" Said virat wiping the tears that came due laughing

"Don't call me thats I don't wanna talk to you bohat bure ho ap"said Rahul

"Chal ab ho gya drama mat kar , dinner kar le, aur agr next time aise doston ke chakkar mei dinner skip kiya na toh sach mei punish karunga" Said virat seriously

Rahul shook his head vigorously, eating, very well knowing virat would actually do it if he wants
