"Holy shit!" He exclaims causing a little gasp from Madison.
"Daddy, you sweared!" She tuts loudly but I can't concentrate on anything except the huge grin on Harry's face. Finally, we are having another baby.
"Mummy, Daddy say a bad word!" Her little hand pats at my chest until I look at her and my smile widens at the adorable pout covering her face.
"Sorry." My jaw aches from how wide I'm grinning but I can't stop.
"Mummy smiley!" She grins, poking her teeny fingers in my cheeks and bouncing excitedly on my ribs.
"Hey, careful there, Madi!" Harry scoops her up, and she giggles as he plops her down on the bed beside me.
"Me go play!" A mess of blonde wavy hair, small arms and legs fly through the air as she scrambles down from the bed and skips out of the bedroom. I stretch my hand out for my husbands and squeeze tightly when he links his long fingers with my shorter ones.
"You're pregnant!" He climbs onto the bed and lies down beside me, our connected hands coming to a stop where, soon enough, there will be a little bump. "I swear I can feel something already." He untangles his fingers from mine and presses his palm flat against the skin below my belly button. I know he's just imagining it but his grin is so wide that I don't have the heart to disagree with him. I feel giddy with excitement, as if I am having some sort of out-of-body experience and I'm only vaguely aware of his hand moving mine but then I gasp as I feel it and it's like I come crashing back into my body, this is really real! He moves my hand again and there's definitely something there. Although it shouldn't surprise me, it seems like I begin to show earlier and earlier with each pregnancy and this definitely won't be noticeable for a good few weeks yet. Harry's quiet sobs pull all my attention towards him.
"Happy?" I roll over to face my husband and smile, my fingers carefully brushing the tears from his cheeks.
"You've no idea. I can't wait to meet you!" Harry whispers, giving me another squeeze.
"And what if it's another girl?" I smirk.
"Well then, I'll just need to get you pregnant again!" He chuckles.
"Uhm. I think not." I protest.
"Oh, come on, you know you love it!" He continues to chuckle, sliding his hand up my body to cup my breast, his thumb expertly gliding over the nipple, hardening it in an instant.
"Harry!" I sigh, trying not to let him distract me. "I'm serious." I gaze into his gorgeous eyes which seem to sparkle in the light since they are still glassy. "We can't - well, I can't keep having babies forever-"
"Baby, I know. I'm only teasing you." His face is now millimetres from mine. "I don't care if you're carrying a boy or a girl. I'll love them both the same and you have no idea how much I love you for everything you've put your body through to give us all of our amazing children. I'm so lucky to have each and every one of you."
"And us you." I smile, gently kissing his lips but he suddenly looks away, guilt clouding his eyes. "Harry?" I grip his chin between my thumb and pointer finger and turn his head back to face me, "Sweetie, what's wrong?"
"You shouldn't say that - you wouldn't say that if you knew." He sits up on the bed and my heart races. What is he talking about? If I knew what? "I'm not the saint that you think I am - I - I - make mistakes. I'm ruining everyone's lives and here I am - oh God, now you're pregnant again and I'm just going to fuck it all up." He'd stood up and is pacing back and forwards at the edge of the bed, pulling at his hair, tears falling down his face.
"HARRY!" I scramble up off the bed and grab him by the shoulders. "Stop! You're scaring me!" My heart is thumping even harder, I'm struggling to breathe and my tears are stinging my eyes. "I'm just a giant fuck up!" I try to hold him but he pulls away from me, perching on the edge of the bed and burying his head in his hands.
"Harry?" His name comes out in a whimper as I kneel on the floor in front of him. My fingers wrap themselves around his hands and pull them away from his face. His eyes are screwed shut and I wish he'd open them. I wish he'd look at me so I know everything will be okay.
"I - Fuck! You'll hate me!"
"Just fucking tell me!" My last bit of patience flies out the window and I pray he doesn't say the one thing that is currently clouding my mind.
"Mac is being bullied, and it's all my fault!" A laugh of utter relief bursts from my mouth before the look on Harry's face makes me clamp it shut. Of course I don't think Mac being bullied is funny but I'm just so relieved he's not cheating or has found somebody else and the idea that he was to blame was ludicrous. This is definitely something we can work out.
"You think that's a joke?" Harry glares.
"No." I shuffle closer to him and hug myself to his middle. "But you scared the shit out of me. I thought you were gonna say you were leaving me or something."
"Baby, that is never happening. You're never getting away." Harry half smiles. Clearly still bothered by what is happening to our son.
"Okay, so tell me what's happened with Mac?" I sit my bum down on the floor and cross my legs, ready to listen. I watch his Adam's Apple bob in his throat as he swallows hard.
"I had to go pick Mac up from school early today. He called me from the toilets in tears. Some older kid hurt him -"
"What do you mean some older kid hurt him?" I interrupted, anger immediately swirling around my body.
"Wait, just listen?" Harry said quietly, his fingers nervously fidgeting with his rings so I cupped them in my own hands. Right now my husband needed me just as much as my son. I nodded for him to continue. "It's like a repeat of what happened with Robin. They are picking on him because of me Jess. Because of how I dress, because of how I look, because this kid thinks I'm gay. Our kids shouldn't be getting picked on for the way I choose to look."
"Harry, this isn't your fault. Kids can be cruel. He'd probably just find some other excuse to tease them if it wasn't about you and one thing I know for sure is our kids are immensely proud of you and love you exactly as you are." I stretch my body so I can place a kiss to the tip of his nose. "So what exactly happened with this boy?"
"The kid punched him, Jess. Cut his cheek and bruised his eye. They pushed him around a bit." His frown deepens, and the guilt returns to his eyes.
"Sweetie, you need to stop punishing yourself this isn't your fault. How is Mac? Is he okay?" I give his hands another squeeze.
"I don't really know, he seems okay but he won't talk to me. He should've called you. I fucked it up." My husband sighs.
"I'm sure you didn't. He called you. I'm sure you whatever you did comforted -"
"I asked him if he punched the kid back?"
"Oh, Harry." I pull him into a hug because I can already tell he's beat himself up more than enough over this.
"I didn't mean to. It just came out and I wish I could take it back!"
"Would you have asked the girls that question?"
"No. I'd have asked the girls how hard they punched him back because I know they would have. He needs to know how to defend himself Jessi!" Harry snaps.
"He does know how to defend himself, Harry. He's the only kid in his Karate class that's reached brown belt. He's the Point Guard on his Basketball Team. Not wanting to fight everyone isn't a weakness." I sigh, climbing up from the floor.
"Baby, stop!" His fingers wrap around my wrist and he spins me round to face him. "I love who our son is. I love that he's kind and compassionate and that he hates seeing people hurt but they hurt him, Jess. They hurt our son and I can't do anything about it."
"We can make an appointment with the school, Harry. We're not going to let this kid get away with it. I promise." I place a kiss to my husband's head and then go to find our son.

"Mum, look at Dolly's new dress! Isn't he pretty?" Daniella comes rushing towards me as I reach the bottom of the stairs. She holds out Dolly for me to see and I can't help but notice the piece of clothing fits the plastic doll perfectly.
"Very pretty. Where did you get his dress?" I smile.
"Robi made it for him. She's the bestest." She grins hugging him to her chest.
"Yeah, did you say thank you?" I ask and she nods before rushing off. The sweet little things my kids did for each other never fail to make me smile. "Hey, have you seen your brother?" I yell after her. He wasn't in his room like I had expected.
"He's in the gym." She yells back and I make my way along the hallway. I stop outside the door, wondering whether I should knock but I can hear one of the treadmills going so he probably won't hear me, anyway. I slowly open the door and I'm confused when I don't see him running, he isn't on the machine at all. He's sitting on the floor, hugging his knees to his chest and his head is buried in his arms. The floor feels cold under my bare feet as I walk across the room to turn off the gym equipment and my heart stops when the noise is replaced with the sound of my son sobbing.
"Hey, Sweetheart! Can Mum have a hug?" I ask as I sit down on the floor beside him. He almost winds me as he flings his body towards me, his arms wrapping around my shoulders tightly. "How are you doing?"
"Dad thinks I'm rubbish." He cries, his arms hugging me tighter.
"Mac, no. I need you to look at me, please?" I wait until he tilts his head up to mine and the sight of his bruised eye and grazed cheek hurts my heart. I don't know why anyone would want to hurt my sweet boy. My fingers cup his face carefully. "Sweetheart, that is not true. Your Dad loves you more than anything. When you guys get hurt, it scares him, he doesn't know what to do."
"I don't wanna fight them."
"That's okay, you don't have to fight anyone. Dad and I will make an appointment to speak to your head teacher, hopefully the boy's parents too, we'll fix it Mac."
"Macaroni! Why didn't you tell me Sam hit you?" Robin yells as she runs into the gym.
"I didn't know who it was." He says, rubbing his cheek against my shirt.
"Wait! Is this the same kid who was picking on you?" I ask.
"I don't want to fight with him, Robi. I don't know why he picked on me." Mac spoke quietly as Harry appears in the doorway.
"It's bec-"
"He's a bully. They don't need a reason Mac." Robin cut Harry off. "You're my brother and he already hates me. But he's a little coward, he never says anything when his friends aren't there."
"W- why does he hate you?" Mac looks genuinely shocked at the fact somebody doesn't like his sister.
"I don't know. He used to be okay, actually. His older sister likes Dad, and I used to give him some of Dad's merch to give to her but lately he changed and I think maybe he might have fallen out with his sister or something, I don't know?" Robin shrugs.
"That's sad. I wouldn't like it if you and me weren't talking." Mac replies and I feel confident that we can resolve things at this meeting with the school, considering how much Mac and Robin are willing to try to see things from this kid, Samuel's point of view.
"Mummy, get da wid off for me?" I hear Madison's little voice and my eyes widen as I glance at what she's waving in the air.
"Madi, where did you get that?" Harry exclaims, plucking it out of her hand.
"MUM! ARE YOU? OH MY GOD!" Robin yells and I can't stop a smile creeping over my face. Everyone is talking at once as Robin rushes to give me a hug, her arms wrapping around Mac too as I was still holding him.
"Why is everyone yelling?" Daniella's voice booms as she skips through the door.
"Mum and Dad are having a baby!" Robin smiles. And before I can even react, little hands are pressing on my stomach.
"I can feel it!" Robin yells excitedly.
"What? I can't feel anything?" Her sister huffs. Robin takes Daniella's hand and slowly moves it over the barely there bump.
"You feel that little bump?" She asks.
"Yeah. Is that the baby?" They are both bouncing with excitement.
"Can I see?" Mac asks, and I stand up and lift my shirt so it's more obvious. "It's so little." Mac gently presses his hand against it.
"It's in Mummy's tummy?" Madison asks Harry.
"Yeah Madi, you're gonna be a big sister?" Harry beams.
"A big sis'er?" She gasps, her little hands grasping her cheeks. I walk towards her and Harry as everyone else vacates the gym. "Wait, me touch, Mummy?"
"Of course you can." I pull my shirt back up and Harry kneels down beside her.
"Gently." Harry smiles as he moves Madison's hand towards me.
"Don't feel wike a baby, sure it's in 'ere?" Her small hand pats softly.
"Well, the baby is very little. About the size of a pea." She gazes back at Harry as if he is the cleverest man she knows.
"We help da baby get big, Daddy?" She smiles.
"Yeah by taking care of Mummy, she needs to get lots of sleep and rest, eat nice and healthy and you guys need to be on your best behaviour, okay?" Their grins warm my heart and I can't help but grin too as Harry sneaks his hand across to give my bump a little squeeze.
-----
"So is everyone ready for my surprise?" I yell as I herd everyone into the cinema room, it's also where all the games systems are set up but we're not playing them tonight.
"Yes!" The kids yell as Jessi grabs the popcorn. I've managed to get an advanced copy of the new Pixar movie but that's not even what I'm excited about. I can't wait for Daniella to see the short before the film. I get everything set up while everyone else grabs a seat and then I dim the lights.
"Everyone ready?"
"Wait! Dolly!" Dani yells as she runs out the room, coming back a second later with her prized possession, she is about to flip her lid.
"Come on, Harry. Sit down!" Jess sighs. I turn the lights off completely and sit myself down beside my wife. I grin as she curls her body into me, her head resting against my chest. I press play and my eyes drift towards my middle daughter, who has made herself comfortable at my feet.
"TOY STOWEE!" Madison screeches in Jessi's lap as the sound of Buzz and Jessie's voices can be heard as the camera pans along the hallway.
"Shh..." Jess says as she settles her down. On the screen a door creaks open and I notice Dani shift at my feet. "Where are we, Buzz?" Jessie asks as the camera pans around the room.
"That looks like-" Dani's voice pauses as my own voice drifts from the screen. "Hi, I'm Dolly!"
"Daddy?" Madison's eyebrows furrow just as Dani yells, "DOLLY! THAT'S MY ROOM! THAT'S DOLLY!" She holds him up in the air and then flips him upside down to examine her name written on his left foot as on screen Dolly shows the same scribble to Buzz and Jessie.
I notice that Jess is watching our daughter too, she's shifted closer to to my leg, her shoulder tucked under my knee as her head rests against it, she seems to switch from hugging her doll close to her chest and thrusting him out towards the screen. "That's a smart idea!" She whispers to him as he suggests using a roller skate to get downstairs and back to Bonnie. "This is so cool!"
"I can't believe you did this. You're amazing." My wife whispers, kissing my shoulder.
"It was actually my idea, Pixar wanted me to voice a singing Avocado. But I'd much rather give my voice to Dolly. Besides, she already thinks he goes on these adventures without her." I whisper.
"How do you know he doesn't?" Jess smiles.
"Shh..." Madi hushes us, wagging her finger.
"Oh, no!" Dani exclaims, hugging herself to my leg as Buzz, Jessie and Dolly go flying out of the roller skate. She relaxes a little as it becomes clear they are all fine. I smile as I watch the rest of the short with my family. My hand makes its way to Jessi's bump and I give it a gentle squeeze. Welcome to the family little one.
