(Spoilers for Azure Moon route in Fire Emblem: Three Houses!! Please do not read if you haven't played it yet and intend to! You have been warned!)
Happy Halloween, everybody! I do not have a spooky chapter for you, but I do have a fun story! That's still good, right? :D
Soooo...I've been playing through FE:TH recently.
Naydra and I picked it up a few years ago, never bothered to progress much further than a few chapters into a Black Eagles run, then forgot about it.
I stumbled across it again around a month ago, remembered how much I adored some of the characters (if you feel like it, try to guess which ones! :D), and launched myself back into it again. Maybe I'll do a future chapter on my overall opinions on that game/some anecdotes from my personal playthrough, but for now I have one specific story to share:
I beat Azure Moon recently, in the most climactic and tense ways possible.
To preface, I hate battles in this game. I am an Animal Crossing fan at heart, so the main reason I play FE:TH is to recruit students, make friends with everyone, and invite people to as many tea parties as I feasibly can. The battles are a necessary stopping block so it doesn't get old.
I also do not do strategy.
The entire game, I managed to get away with just tossing Byleth out there and letting her do sick dodges and decimate enemies in one shot. Felix, Dimitri, and Ashe (boi kept getting criticals for some reason and leveling up like crazy) were my other tanks, but I honestly just relied on Byleth most of the time.
Cue me rolling into the final battle against Edelgard, unprepared and very scared. The characters I mentioned above were pretty well set, but everyone else was underleveled and really not prepared for this.
I bumbled my way through it, tossing my tanks out front and trying to mitigate damage as much as I could. Any confidence I had (hint: it wasn't much) immediately withered when I lost Felix and Dimitri, but I kept forging ahead anyway in the hopes that I could somehow wring a victory out of this.
And by the end?
Literally everyone else died except for Byleth.
Yes, I am terrible at this game, why do you ask? XD
So I went up against Edelgard (and the 500 other enemies that kept running around D:<) with only Byleth.
And I somehow managed to beat her.
Byleth was an absolute beast at the end, dodging every attack thrown her way and destroying everyone around her. I worked my way through all four of Edelgard's lives without getting a single hit landed on me, all the while terrified for my life.
I was absolutely shocked by the end. I couldn't believe my luck lasted me that long, especially given how many unlucky things had befallen the other Blue Lions.
Thank you, Sothis?? I guess? XD
tl:dr Byleth is amazing
Thank you for reading! I hope you're having a wonderful day/night! :)
