I was sprawled out on 10k's chest as he laid on the ground. We heard the hoard catching up so we all started running to a shop. We got in and closed the door. 10k sat on the floor and let me curl around his neck. I was shedding so much I could possibly be a hairless cat right now. Other than me panting like crazy, I felt sort of relaxed.

10k laid face down on the floor and I sprawled out on his back. The new guy was talking about the herd. "It's miles wide. Moves to fast to get around it." That's GREAT news... The Zs started banging on the door so we all moved into a back room. I heard them busting into the front room.

"This is a death trap!" The new guy and I said at the same time. Of course all they heard from me was a yowl of anger. "The cat agrees with me." The new guy muttered. Then he realized. "Whoa wait. You guys have been carrying around an extra mouth that can't even kill?"

I strode over and slid out my claws on one paw. "Say it again I dare you." I snarled. He looked down at me and amusement entered his eyes. "Yeah. That's what I thought." I lashed at his leg and gave a deep scratch.

The Zs were starting to bust down the door and we all had to squeeze into the cabinets. 10k climbed into his cabinet and looked at Doc. "Jay." Doc nodded and lifted me up to him. I curled up into his chest and started to drift off to sleep. As I was about to go into a deep sleep I heard 10 snoring. I smiled and let sleep take me for now.

After the horde passed we all came out of the cabinets. It took some prodding and a nip on the cheek to wake 10k up. Murphy got some food from a dead family so 10 gave me some water out of his cup and some gold fish. I'd have to admit, gold fish crackers are much better than gold fish. After eating the crackers and drinking almost all of 10k's water, I looked around for Hazel, who I hadn't talked to for a while. She wasn't there. "Oh, fox dung!" I yowled, gaining the attention of everyone.

"You think she noticed about Hazel?" I heard Cassandra ask 10k. I lashed my tail with anger.

"What happened to Hazel?" Warren asked.

"That's what I want to know." I snarled.

"It's like she understands us." Murphy said mesmerized.

"No shit Sherlock." I snapped. "What about Hazel?"

Everyone just continued to eat in silence. I hung my head and silently muttered, Hazel.. I'm so sorry.
