Chapter 8
Ava's POV.
I woke up and stretched myself out.
I yawned and sighed and looked out be window. "Oh God, what's it doing open?!" I quickly sat up.
"Oh yeah...I forgot to close it last night" I sighed. "Well, good thing there no bloodthirsty wolves in the room" I laughed to myself.
"Well, I better get ready, I need to be driving off tonight." I pet Marsh's head. "Just five more m-" As I put my hand on my pillow, I felt something wet. "Ew! Is that-" A thought that it could have been the saliva of the wolf from the news, Delta, came to my mind. No Ava, if it came in here I would have been dead.
I just decided I was drooling in my sleep. I sat up carefully so I didn't wake up Kitty Fluffpaws.
"Kitty Fluffpaws?" She was gone.
"Kitty...?" Kitty Fluffpaws never leaves the room at night. Unless she's in the bathroom! I jumped out of bed and opened the bathroom door.
"Kitty Fluffpaws?" I looked around.
"Oh no...oh no, oh no, oh- ugh! Get a hold of yourself! Marshmallow wouldn't be so calm if something was wrong!" I turned around and walked back into the room in case I just missed her.
Marshmallow was sniffing around the room.
He made a whining sound like he does when he's sad or concerned. He looked at me with worried eyes.
"Don't look at me like that Marshmallow..." I had a bad feeling when I looked into his pleading eyes.
"Marshmallow, find Kitty Fluffpaws" I ordered him. He sniffed around then looked back at me. "Mom!" I called. I ran down stairs with Marshmallow at my heals. "Where's Jinny!" I yelled, not angrily, but worried.
Though my parents hate Jinny and Marshmallow, they know I love them. So the worry in there faces was like I said I couldn't find my sister. Which Jinny is like a sister to me. A sister and more. She's like a child in a way, I raised her since she was young. A best friend, and a sister, and daughter, to be lost all at the same time, was a nightmare. "She never leaves her room, she's gone! Marshmallow can't find her!" I yelled. My parents immediately scrambled around the house, looking every inch of inside and out. But she wasn't there.
I looked and looked until there was two hours for me to leave. One of those hours I used backing the suitcases and boxes into the car, saying goodbye, and grabbing last minute stuff. The other hour I used printing out wanted posters and sticking them everywhere. My parents said to put a high price and they'd pay all of it. They said they have more money than they know what to do with, though they do major shopping, buying expensive furniture, clothes, food, and, well, everything. And every Friday they give $500 charity.
They said they will keep looking and calling people while I'm gone. And the second they find her they will let me know. I wanted to stay and help, but I needed to go.
I entered the car, with Marshmallow in the passenger seat. I really wanted to make this trip with Jinny.
I looked at the WANTED posters that had a photo of Jinny, and details about her at the back. And under the photo of Jinny, the reward that my parents agreed on, was $1.000.000.
I had no idea my parents would ever pay that much money for Jinny. They don't even like her, but just for me, they are willing to pay $1.000.000.
I never appreciated my parents as much as I did after this day.
And I never appreciated Jinny as much as I did after this day.
I only wished I could tell her how much I missed her already...
