Chapter 15

I lay on a rock in grass much taller than me. Pale-moon and Stargaze slept soundly beside me. I shuffled over to my other side for the millionth time.
I moaned, then sighed. I'd never get comfy. "Are you sure there aren't any beds around here?" I asked quietly. Stargaze replied in a drowsy tone, like he had just woken up.
"A bed could take all day to make, minimum. Plus we don't have the supplies for that." He replied.
"I could pass for a laptop, got any of those?" I asked hopefully.
"Lap... Top?" Stargaze repeated in confusion. "Never heard of it." He added.

Sighing hopelessly, I closed my eyes and pretended I was sleeping peacefully in my bed back at home.
Some restless minutes later, I fell asleep.

Suddenly, I was snapped out of my dreamless sleep, as fell face first on the ground. I moaned tiredly and sat up.
"Wjats going on?" I mumbled.
"Time to wake up Kitty, we can't sleep in if we want to get you to your new home." Stargaze said from beside me. He and Pale-Moon were were standing next to each other, wide awake.
"What time is it?" I mumbled through a yawn. It was probably around 9:30-10.
"Sunrise" Pale-Moon replied simply.
I jumped to my feet as I hear that.
"Sunrise?! That's like, 5:30 or 6!" I exclaimed.
Pale-Moon and Stargaze exchanged a puzzled glance. "Well, our normal wake up time is an hour or two after sunset, depending where we are, but we thought we'd wake up a little earlier so we can cover more ground." Stargaze said.

I sighed in frustration. "Well I'm awake now, I might as well get up.."

We had been walking for hours, and I guessed it was around ten o'clock.
"We should go hunting now, I'm getting pretty hungry." Pale-Moon suggested.
"Do we really have to hunt? Isn't there someone around we can ask to share their food, or any left overs lying around?" I asked hopefully. But Pale-Moon and Stargaze were already shaking their heads.

"Absolutely not! If you asked for someones food, they'd make you their second meal. And if you ate left overs, if you could find any, you could catch as disease." Pale-Moon said. Groaning, I sat down on a rock nearby.
"Go on without me, I'll wait here." I said, and surprisingly, they nodded in agreement.

They walked off into the tall grass, and I could no longer see them. I sighed.
This was harder than I thought it'd be.
I sat silently for half an hour, wondering how long they'd be.
What if something ate them? Like a lion or a bear?! I thought. I bagan to panic as I thought of all the wild animals that could be stalking me right now. I swung my head from left to right, imagining preditors surrounding me.
There was a snap in the long grass, like a twig that snapped beneath a preditors feet.
I jumped to my feet, looking into the long grass.

The grass began to shuffle around, like an animal started to run through it.
In a state of panic, I ran.
I ran past trees and through long grass, my paws landed in puddles of mud, and spider webs stuck to my face. Finally, when I was satisfied I had lost the preditor, I stopped.
Phew, I lost it...
I looked around me now, not recognising anything I saw. Where am I?!
I sighed, trying to calm myself down.
The animal in the grass could've just been a mouse! Now I was lost.
I sighed and began walking, trying to retrace my steps. I walked for about two minutes, before I noticed something odd.
There was a peice of bark hanging from the trunk a tree with a sharp rock.

I walked up to it. Something had been carved into it, with a claw or something.
It was a picture of a cat. It was a picture of me.
