Rise Dear Daughter

~Two days later~

I'm currently watching over the young master as Elizabeth drags him around the venue.

"Ciel, look! Look!" Elizabeth shouts, dragging Ciel behind her. "That cake is so cute!" She points to a cake. "I'll go get some for you too!" She runs off to go get two plates.

"Really, the nobles don't do anything but gather and talk about the irrelevant things," Ciel huffs. "It feels stupid having abandoned work to come here."

"Well then," father says, walking up to us with a plate of food in hand and Snake behind him. "You should give the Lady Elizabeth a nice dance."

"And make a fool of myself? No."

"More importantly, young master, it's tonight," father says, handing him his plate of food.

"Ah."

A waiter carries a tray of empty glasses around behind us. "Would you like one?"

Father turns, narrowing his eyes. "That is it. The signal for the opening of the Aurora Society's meeting is a waiter walking around the hall carrying empty glasses."

"We're following him," Ciel says, handing his food off to Snake. "Clean it up."

The three of us leave Snake behind, heading off to get on disguises. After acquiring the disguises, we head off to the place of the secret society. We get inside after explaining to Ciel what we have to do once inside.

A large man in a suit walks up to us. "First timers, I suppose?"

Ciel looks to father, who gives him a nod.

"Th-the complete flame in our chests..."

"Shall not be extinguished by anyone," the man continues.

"We are... the Phoenix!" the four of us say.

The man stares before doing the same pose. "The Phoenix! Welcome to the Aurora Society." He hands Ciel three badges. "These are you membership badges."

Ciel takes them and hands them to my father. Father hands one to me, pins one on himself, then pins the last on Ciel. Ciel's face is steaming red in embarrassment.

The man walks away and an amused chuckle rings off behind Ciel. We look to find Undertaker.

"To think you would do something like that!" he cackles.

"Undertaker!" Ciel says surprised.

"Saying 'The Phoenix' with such a serious face!" he laughs loudly.

"You bastard!" Ciel huffs.

"Now, now, young master," father says, placing a calm hand on his shoulder.

"What are you doing all the way out here?" I ask.

"Where death goes I follow!" he giggles.

Ciel shrugs off father's hand. "We're investigating the illegal experiments going on here. Do you know anything about the revival of the dead?"

"If you want information, I have to get my compensation," Undertaker grins.

"I already made you laugh a plenty!" Ciel huffs.

"Let's see..." Undertaker bites his finger in thought. "How about you do that pose once more?"

Ciel's face flushes. "Wha–"

"The Phoenix!" a voice cuts them off.

I tense. "I know that voice anywhere..."

"Is that the Viscount of Druitt?" Ciel questions.

"Come to think of it, he had a doctors license, didn't he?" father asks.

Druitt talks to a few people before spotting Ciel.

Ciel tenses. "He's coming over!"

"Oh my, are you beginners?" Druitt asks as Ciel hides behind father.

"Yes, we saw the newspaper article," father says.

"Oh," he says, peering behind father to look at Ciel. "Have I met you before somewhere?"

"No!" Ciel quickly exclaims. "I'm sure this is our first meeting!"

"Indeed. I surely wouldn't forget such a beautiful boy such as yourself," he reaches to grab his chin.

Out of instinct I smack his hand from ever touching him. The three give me a surprised look. "Forgive me, but you will not touch the young master with your perverted touch."

Alois decides that that's the perfect moment to appear along with Claude and the triplets. Alois decided to wear a disguise as well. He has on an orange wig, Claude has a blond wig, and the triplets have on white wigs.

"Hello, friend," Alois says, slinking up beside Ciel.

Claude has a glaring contest with father and the triplets move beside me.

The gates backstage open, revealing men carrying a casket followed by a man in a lab coat.

"It's starting," Druitt says. "He is the founder, Ryan Stoker."

Ryan moves to front center stage. "The complete flame in our chests shall not be extinguished by anyone. We are... THE PHOENIX!" Ryan does the pose followed by the audience.

"More like we are crazy," Thompson whispers, making his brothers and I lightly chuckle.

"Ladies and gentlemen! Thank you for coming to today's research presentation of the Aurora Society's complete salvation of mankind through medicine. What is complete salvation, you say? That is... complete health! A healthy body! Healthy teeth! A healthy spirit! And finally, a healthy mood! Healthiness is truly splendid!"

"I'm already forming a headache," I groan as the audience applauses.

"However, there's the worst kind of health issue that we can't overcome no matter how hard we try." Ryan places his hand on the coffin. "What is that, you say?" He pauses. "Death."

"Interesting," a voice mutters out.

We turn to the direction of the voice and find Kyoya a couple people down from us.

"Ah, shit," I murmur to myself.

"And the great power that will save us from this disaster is..." he spreads his arms out for dramatic effect. "The Aurora Society's medicine! We will now show you, ladies and gentlemen, the fruits of our 'complete salvation of mankind through medicine' research."

The men from before open the coffin, revealing a corpse.

My nose curls. "Stinky."

"Margaret Connor, 17. The young lady lost her life at an early age due to an unfortunate event."

The parents of the girl are standing nearby, wiping their tears with a handkerchief.

"Gross, no soul no point," Claude mutters.

"It is truly pitiful. An accident that shouldn't of happened. Her death did not only put her but her family's hearts into bad health." The men bring over a machine. "I want to save them completely."

"Is the body real?" Ciel asks.

"Probably," father answers, rubbing his nose. "The smell of death is so intense that it's causing my nose to twitch."

"Well then, ladies and gentlemen! I will show you now... the power of medicine!" The machine is turned on with various wires connected to the dead girl's body. "A complete salvation!"

The lights flicker as sparks and lightning could be seen. The crowd roars with gasps as they watch what happens.

"Little overdramatic if you ask me," Alois murmurs.

"Like you have room to talk," Ciel retorts.

"Come! Rise from death like the phoenix!" the doctor continues.

The sparks finish, making everyone wonder if something went wrong. The girl's left arm raises as her body follows after, causing everyone to make different exclamations.

"Interesting," Kyoya speaks.

"Take a look! With our medicine, we can even overcome death!"

"Maggy! Oh, Maggy!" the mother cries out.

"Thank you, doctor!" the father says.

"This is the complete salvation!"

The audience begins to applaud.

"What on Earth is going on?!" Ciel calls out. "Did he really just revive a corpse?!"

The mother wraps herself around her daughter in a hug. "As long as you're alive, mother will–"

She cuts herself off with a scream as her daughter's jaw extends further than humanly possible and chomps down on her mother's shoulder. Blood spews everywhere, causing the audience to scream in horror. The daughter pulls her mother into the casket as she screams and kills her. She rises with blood covering her upper body. The audience screams and rushes out the nearest exit.

We all remove our disguises, catching the eye of Kyoya. "Should've known you lot were part of this."

"Get out of here, human," Claude speaks, giving him a light glare.

Kyoya is rooted to his spot for a few seconds before he makes a break for it.

"Sebastian!" Ciel calls out.

"Yes, my lord," father says, revealing three knives between his fingers.

Sorry, I had this chapter done, but I wanted to add more to it. Though I'm not adding to it cause you all really want the next bit. Figured ending it here is a good cliff hanger. Of course, that'll leave you wanting more... 🥴

Anyway! BNHA/MHA fans!

I've been writing a book for that. Go to my profile and read it! The Smug French Girl!
