11)Just The Four Of Us

The week went by fast, much to the relief of every student at F.H.S. Every student but one that is. Derek's been MIA, saved from boring classes, and excessive homework.

Last time I saw Derek was at the party a week ago. Had I actually returned to him after my bathroom break, I probably would've heard about his trip with his dad to visit one of the colleges he received early acceptance to. Instead, he texted me about it Monday morning as they were leaving.

He spent the week sending me pictures of the campus and different fun activities. As for me, I spent the week trying to figure out how to tell him about me and Jace.

Every time I type out an explanation, I think about Caleb's reaction and delete the text. Derek's not gonna be happy to learn about my newfound friendship with my ex. No matter how I word it.

Caleb's been missing a lot too this week. Anytime Jace is around Caleb makes an excuse to take off. I don't get how two people who used to be as close as brothers can hate each other so much. Caleb doesn't talk about it which leaves me to assume the bad blood is from Jace ghosting their friendship.

Everyone's felt the tension this week, the strain each time Caleb disappears. Ava normally goes with him so he's not alone, but I miss the four of us.

The only thing that kept my mind off of everything was Jace and his friends. They're insane, keeping Marcel and I laughing every day at lunch.

But after a week of barely seeing Caleb and Ava, I decided we all needed a night out, just the four of us. At this time of year, there's no better place to go than the annual autumn fair.

It's Friday so it won't be crazily crowded like it is on Saturdays.

The four of us are crammed into Marcel's jeep, with the soft top off and the radio blaring.

"Ahh!" Ava growls from the passenger seat, fighting with her hair as the dark strands whip around her. "Why didn't we take Caleb's truck?"

"Can you say tight squeeze?" I tease from my seat in the back next to Caleb.

Ava wiggles her eyebrows. "You don't have to tell me about tight squeezes."

"Ugh!" Marcel cringes behind the wheel.

"You guys act like I'm repulsive!"

Caleb leans up and pats her shoulder. "Of course not, A. You're beautiful."

A's cheeks turn a deep shade of pink, tinting her bronze cheeks. The sight takes me by surprise. I don't think I've ever actually seen her blush before.

"You both are," Caleb adds, turning those emerald eyes on me and winking.

Ava makes a choking sound and turns back around in her seat, giving up on the fight with her flying hair.

When we get to the fairgrounds, we're all mesmerized by the lights from the rides and games. It's hard not to feel as excited as a kid, even if we do come here every year. The atmosphere is electrified by the people screaming and laughing. Delicious scents waft in the air from the different booths and music spills from randomly posted speakers. There's just nothing not to love here.

"I wanna play games!" Ava yells, skipping across the parking lot. "Come on, come on. Let's go play."

We stop at a couple food stands, much to Ava's ire, before finally hitting up some games.

"By the end of the night I am winning a fish," Ava declares, eyeing the fishbowl game.

With a soda in one hand, I throw my other arm around her shoulders and steer her to the bottle ring toss. "Save the fishy for the end of the night. You don't wanna make it sick on the rides."

"Fine," she crosses her arms. "But we don't leave here without a fish."

"Deal. We'll all help you get a fish." I look over my shoulder. "Right guys?"

Caleb and Marcel both nod with mouths full of french fries and funnel cakes, their faces dusted with powdered sugar or ketchup stains already bleeding into their t-shirts.

"Let's just hope the boys don't throw up on the rides either," I add.

We play ring toss, failing miserably until the guys finish their food and help out. Caleb wins a giant teddy bear and gives it to a very frustrated Ava. It's like she's just been given a diamond necklace.

"Oh my God! Thank you!" She jumps up and throws her arms around him, smacking him on the back with the bear.

Caleb laughs. "Well, it's no fish but..."

"It's perfect!" She smiles, as he puts her back on her feet.

"Okay, now it's my turn. I wanna win some shit." Marcel looks around before pointing at the water gun game. "That one." He looks at Caleb. "You're going down, Walker!"

Six games later and we've collected a second smaller bear, two light-up swords, and one plastic inflated alien. It's just enough to carry around without feeling weighed down, making it the perfect time to go on rides.

We take turns partnering up when we can't all four sit together. Despite them being the same rides from every year, we still scream and laugh like it's our first time . We start with the bumper cars, tilt-a-whirl, starship, and rollercoaster.

In the haunted house, Ava clings to Caleb while Marcel and I laugh at the fake ghosts and skeletons. The magic maze is worse. Ava and I run headfirst into see-through walls, making Caleb and Marcel nearly piss themselves with laughter.

"Keep laughing!" I yell through the maze at the boys. "When I get out of here I'm forcing both you on the banana jets with the little kids!"

"Yeah, see how you like being laughed at!" The many images of Ava displayed in the mirrors flip the bird from different directions before she turns and smacks into another wall.

"I can't breathe!" Marcel manages to say through his laughing fit.

He and Caleb hold onto each other but still manage to fall on the floor, holding their stomachs as they try to breathe and laugh at the same time.

After we finally make our escape, we walk around scoping out the rest of the rides. We always hit the Ferris wheel last. It's been our carnival grand finale since we started coming here without parental supervision. Since we're not ready to end our night just yet, we pass it by to find something else, but when I look around I notice something on the other side of the giant wheel.

Across the ride's platform stands four boys waiting in line with a couple girls. One of which is having his tattooed arm yanked on by a small brunette.

Jace.

He pulls his arm free and turns to Wilder with a shrug while the girl grabbing on him turns and pouts to her friends. Looking over his shoulder he gives the brunette a weird look, which only makes her pout more.

When the ride operator waves them onto the Ferris wheel, the girl jumps into the seat and pulls Jace down next to her. He doesn't look happy about it, but just before the ride starts to move, he spots me through the lights and crowd.

Even from here, I can see his jaw drop and his eyes widen. It's that 'oh shit, I got caught with my hand in the cookie jar' kind of look.

I must look like a fucking weirdo standing in the middle of traffic, watching my friend on his date.

Great job, Lex.

Now I can either pretend I didn't see him or acknowledge his existence and risk further embarrassment.

Ignoring the hard thumping in my chest and the heat spreading across my face, I wave at his worried expression just as they ascend into the air.

"Lex!" Marcel's voice calls to me over the wacky sounds coming from the different rides and games.

Snapping my head, I notice the others are a good yard ahead of me.

"Over here!" Marcel waves me over.

Thank God, a reason to run away.

I push through groups of people and make my way over. Denying myself the chance to look back at the Ferris wheel, I keep my head low and push down the sick feeling in my gut.

"Hey," I reach the group and find them standing in line for my most hated ride. "Uh, uh. Nope. Not doing it!"

Caleb turns his puppy dog eyes on me. "Come on, Lex."

I hate it when he does that. Now I'm gonna feel guilty for saying no. Which I will cause the Zipper is the physical form of hell on earth.

"Yeah, it'll be fun," Ava agrees.

"And I promise we won't rock the cage this time." Caleb smiles reassuringly.

"Bullshit," I huff. "You guys said that last year, and you did it anyway. So, I am telling you now, just like I told you then; I am never getting on the fucking Zipper again!"

This ride is my nightmare down to a T. Not only are you enclosed in a tiny cage but it swings around, goes upside down, and depending on who you're riding with, the cage itself can also twirl in circles. It's the equivalent to being a hamster in a hamster ball and having someone kick you across the floor.

No, thank you!

"I don't do upside down."

Caleb looks disappointed. Ava shrugs and watches the ride take off with its latest victims.

Clapping me on the back, Marcel gives me that big brother smile. "I'll sit out with you then."

"No, you go. It's your favorite ride."

It really is. The guy looks forward to this run wide every time we come here.

He seems to think about it for a minute before tipping his chin down at me. "You sure?"

"Positive." I smile. "I'll just..." I spot a food stand close by. "I'll get us some popcorn."

"Great!" Ava beams from over her shoulder. "Can you hold my bears too?"

She shoves them at me before I can answer.

"Sure."

Several small tables and chairs are placed around the food stand. I get a couple bags of popcorn and eye the caramel apples, making a mental note to buy one before we leave.

This is my favorite time of year and there's nothing that tastes like autumn the way caramel apples do. They're sweet but if you buy them fresh, they're also warm and comforting like wrapping in a thick blanket.

Sitting at a table, guarding our prizes, and nibbling on popcorn, I fantasize about the delicious gooey apples. I can still see Marcel, Ava, and Caleb waiting in line. While they're going for a loop-de-loop, I get to stuff my face and rest my feet.

Pretty sure I got the better deal.

Pulling from the straw of my drink, I reach the bottom of the cup. I get up to throw it into a trash can when I bump into a wall of muscle.

"Sorry," I briefly apologize and toss the cup in the trash.

"Lexi?"

Of course.

I turn around, surprised to see Jace by himself. "Jace...hey."

A lopsided grin tips his mouth. "Hey. I thought I saw you earlier."

"Yup."

And I saw you with your date.

"Where's the rest of the Fantastic Four?"

I nod towards the Zipper. "Waiting in line."

"Ah. Your arch-nemesis."

I duck my head trying to hide the smile on my face. He's been doing that a lot lately, remembering trivial details about me at random. It's...sweet.

"What about you?" I can't resist the desire to dig for answers. "Where are the guys and...your date?"

The knowing smile he flashes my way feels like a tease, his way of hooking me and leading me to the edge of a cliff, waiting for his next words."They went for a run through the maze."

Biting my tongue, I nod repeatedly like a fucking bobblehead while tapping my foot impatiently.

Well, don't leave me waiting all night.

At the speed of a snail and with a smug pull of his mouth, Jace leans in dangerously close to my ear, his breath fanning the side of my face. "And she's not my date, sweetheart."

It's like he's just given me mouth to mouth resuscitation, filling my lunges with the air I hadn't realized I was missing.

Trying to pretend like I'm completely fucking fine, I tilt my head to the side. "Oh, well, that's cool. It just kinda looked that way I guess."

The way he watches me makes me feel like a bug under a microscope, wiggling around under his penetrating gaze. It's driving me crazy, making my mind race with things to say just to relieve the tension.

"My bad for assuming. I guess she just looked a little...attached."

Yeah, as in super glued to his arm.

Jace laughs. "That makes sense since Sophie is a stage five clinger and total fucking psycho."

"Then, why are you here with her?" I dig my grave a little deeper, because, why the hell not?

"I'm not." Jace shakes his head. "Some of her friends are hanging with Wild and Travis tonight so she tagged along. Keeps trying to drag me on rides and hand-feed me greasy ass food."

"Wow, that sounds awful." I try not to laugh.

"Go ahead and laugh, sweetheart. I got no problem embarrassing you right here, right now."

Placing my hand on my hip, I cock an eyebrow at him. "You wouldn't dare."

His brows skyrocket, with a devilish challenge-accepted grin on his face. Without thinking, he gets down on one knee in front of me, taking my free hand in both of his. My eyes pop out of my head cartoon style as my throat begins to close up.

The people around us instantly take notice.

"Awww," a couple coo's close by, covering their hearts with both hands like this is just the sweetest thing they've ever seen.

"Alexis Young," Jace starts, his eyes peering up at me with fake adoration. "Will you make me the happiest man in the world and..."

He pauses and I swear I can hear the people closest to us hold their breath.

My face is so hot it has to be as red as the apples on display. I try to use my other hand to cover my face but Jace quickly snatches that one too.

"And go to prom with me?"

I lean forward with clenched teeth. "If I say yes will you get the hell up?"

"Don't keep the crowd waiting, baby," he whispers back.

Looking around, I meet several pairs of eyes waiting to see what I'll say.

Releasing a deep resigned breath, I nod. "Yes. I'll go with you."

The people watching applaud, some even cheer while Jace jumps to his feet. Wrapping his arms around me, he lifts me into the air and spins me around.

"Put me down!"

Placing me safely back on the ground, Jace whispers in my ear, "Thought you'd know better by now than to dare me."

He waves at some of the people as they walk away, thanking them for their "support." When the last of them have gone on about their business, I slap Jace on the chest.

"I'm going to kill you!"

"Ow." He rubs his pecs. "Kinda fucked up to slap your prom date."

I jab a finger at him. "You are not my date. There is no date. Shit, prom's still so far away from now."

Jace shrugs. "You never know."

Rolling my eyes, I walk back over to my table and the junk I was supposed to be watching over. I can feel Jace following close behind, clearly not giving up on his plan to torture me while he waits for his friends.

"Now I see why the boys ditched you."

Jace scoffs. "I ditched them. I fucking hate fun houses."

"Afraid you'll get lost in the maze?"

"Not a fan of tight places...well," his eyes flare with mischief. "Not that kind anyway."

I shake my head, fighting back a smile. "Perv."

"Don't act so innocent, Lex."

With narrowed eyes, I glare at Jace while his smile shifts to something dangerous. He doesn't say anything though; he doesn't have to when he's looking at me like that. His eyes shine with desire. Whether its real or just to fuck with me, I don't know, but the effect is the same.

My heart starts racing, my pulse pounding in my veins. It's not fair that all it takes is a suggestive look to get me rattled.

With dry mouth from hell, I turn around looking for my drink, only to realize I had thrown it away.

"Anyway," Jace's tone lightens, steering in a different direction entirely. "Since you're waiting for the others, do you wanna go on a ride?"

Maybe.

I look at my pile of items on the table and frown. "I'm supposed to be guarding our haul."

"They're five-dollar toys you can buy at the party store. Pretty sure no one's gonna take this shit."

Biting my lip, I weigh my options. If someone does take them the others might get pissed, but then again...no. I can't do that.

Seeing the answer in my eyes, Jace holds up a finger. "One second."

He runs over to the food stand and talks to one of the employees working inside. After a couple words, the guy nods. Jace runs back over with a boyish smile.

"Dude said if we put the stuff behind the stand by the door, it'll be safe."

I don't get a chance to say anything before Jace grabs all of it and jogs behind the stand, coming back out empty-handed.

"Ready?"

Am I?

Slowly nodding, I place my hand in his. The second our skin connects, he pulls me closer and throws an arm around my shoulders as we head into the crowd.

"Which ride?"

The crooked smile on his face sends flutters through my stomach. "I was thinking the Ferris wheel."

"You already went on that."

Licking his bottom lip, he peers down at me. "Yeah, but not with who I wanted."

Smooth one.

We walk around to the Ferris wheel and get in the, thankfully, short line. Every so often I catch Jace looking at me when he thinks I don't notice. Maybe it's just the excitement of the night getting to my head but every time I catch those blue orbs falling on me, an electric current runs through my body with excitement.

It's the magic of the fair. It has to be.

"How's your night going so far?" Jace asks after being caught watching me for the third time.

"Great," I answer truthfully. "We've been having a blast."

"And now?"

"Now's good too."

His eyes shoot open wide. "Just good? Damn...and to think I was gonna get you a caramel apple."

"No, no, I meant now is great too!"

"Uh, huh." He nods. "You just want sweets. I know your game, Lex."

Of course he does, because for some crazy reason, he's remembered everything about me. Like my fear of the Zipper and my love for caramel apples.

Crossing my arms, I feign indifference. "I don't know what you're talking about."

"Yeah, I don't believe that shit for a second."

The line moves quickly and pretty soon the ride operator is waving us onto the platform. We take our seats and pull the safety bar down in front of us. Just as the ride begins to move, our small cart floating backward, Jace slips his arm over my shoulders once again.

"You really like doing that don't you?"

"Doing what?" He asks, confusion lines furrowing his brows.

I nod towards his arm, lazily draped around me like it belongs there, securely in its rightful place.

"Oh, shit. I'm sorry." He starts to pull away.

Grabbing his hand, I hold it in place and shake my head as our little basket rises into the sky. "No, it's okay. Kinda cold up here anyway."

It is chilly, not that I can feel it. With Jace pressed against mine and his arm around me, holding me close, all I can feel is his heat warming me up. It's like sitting in front of a campfire and the flames are dancing, trying to lick at my body as I sit just a couple feet away. It could burn, but I keep leaning closer wanting more heat, danger be damned.

With his face just inches from mine, Jace's eyes, matching the sky above us, watch me carefully with an unknown emotion dancing among the stars in his irises.

"You sure?" his voice comes out in a whisper.

All I can do is nod, trapped in his gaze.

His full lips tilt up, the look on his face softening as he pulls me tighter against him. Everywhere our bodies touch ignites a scorching blaze from our glued thighs to our pressed torso's, rising and falling with the same rhythm, to his arm hugging me close. It's the kind of feeling that sucks all the air out of my lunges, my last breath falling from my lips and fanning his. They're so close, my eyes nearly level with the bee-stung temptations before me.

"Alexis." His breath grazes my cheek, a small lifeline snapping me from my hypnotized confusion.

"Yes." Ugh, I hate how weak my voice sounds.

His tongue snakes out, wetting his lips. "Breathe, sweetheart."

That's it, the words I need to fully bring me back to life. A verbal defibrillator shocking my brain from its stupor.

I shake my head, hoping to straighten out my jumbled thoughts. "I'm good."

"Mmhmm." He's not convinced.

Our basket finally reaches the top of the wheel, halting in its place and giving us the best view in the world. The town lights sparkle off in the distance, making my home look like a world filled with fireflies.

"Beautiful."

"Yeah, it is." I agree, my wondrous eyes admire before they fall on Jace.

His head quickly snaps, turning from me to the view before us. "Looks, amazing."

The moon shines down on us, canceling out the crazy flashing colors below and casting its light on us, or more specifically, Jace. I admire his profile as he watches the world around us come closer while we descend. It's still so hard for me to get over all the ways he's changed.

A light graze of brown stubble peppers his jaw, making him look rugged and tough. The desire to run my fingertips along his cheek grows intense, making me ball my hands in my lap to keep them from straying. Instead, I allow my eyes to trace the slopes and angles of his face until I notice something hiding in his scruff, a deep cut just under his chin.

How did he get that?

My mind immediately jumps to him losing control of his bike but if that were the case, I would think he'd be in worse shape. No, this is something else.

"You gonna stare at me for the whole ride?" Jace asks without looking at me, his knowing smirk coming to life.

Sure enough, our basket is rising again, already past the spectators on the ground. There's no sight of Caleb and the others, so I'm assuming they've made it onto their ride. Which means my time with Jace is running out quickly.

I can feel Jace's eyes still watching me, waiting for me to answer him, but I can't look at him. Not now. Not while I lie through my teeth.

"I wasn't staring."

"Bullshit," he rasps.

Shit, this was a mistake. A fucking huge, monster-size mistake. Why did I think it was a good idea to lock myself into a too-tight space with him knowing I wouldn't be able to get out if things went to hell?

My mind grasps for an excuse, anything to decrease the rising tension between us.

"I-I," Think woman think! "You have a cut on your chin."

Bingo!

Jace's face drops, taken back by my answer.

"Oh." He rubs at the injured area. "Yeah...I fell off my bike."

Look who's lying now.

"And that's the only place you got hurt?"

Starring off, he nods.

"Sounds like you got lucky."

"Yup. That's me, lucky as fuck." His tone is sharp but after a couple deep breaths, he tries again. "It was a small fall. I was barely going ten miles an hour."

He sounds so convincing, I start considering that he isn't lying after all. I mean, falls happen, especially on a motorcycle.

"I'm glad you're okay then."

Turning to me again, he graces me with his crooked smirk. "Thanks, Lex."

We need a lighter subject. Anything to lift this shifting mood between us. Something that puts us back in friendly territory.

"So, when do I get another ride?"

The look that flares in his eyes is my first warning, what he says is my second. "Depends, what're you trying to ride?"

Yup, I walked into that one.

I bite my tongue and shake my head, praying to the high heavens that the disco of lights hides the pink tint of my cheeks before nudging him in the ribs with my elbow.

"You know what I meant."

His light chuckle is all I need to know we've returned to safer waters.

"Yeah, I got you." He nods. "I could always pick you up for school on Monday."

The disappointment swimming in my gut surprises me. I guess I was hoping for something soon, like this weekend.

"Monday morning sounds good." I plaster on a smile.

The Ferris wheel finishes its third rotation before finally dropping us back off at the platform. Jace returns his arm to my shoulders as we head back towards the table, only we don't get far before we run into a familiar blonde with emerald eyes blazing with anger.

"So, this is where you went?" Caleb asks, his heated glare bouncing between Jace and me.

Without thinking, I slip out from under Jace's arm, trying to pretend I don't notice the hurt look on his face as I put some space between us.

"Hey, did you guys have fun on the Zipper?" My cheery tone sounds fake even to me.

Caleb rolls his lips in, trying to school his face, hide his irritation. When he's done he looks more relaxed.

"Yeah." He answers. "It was fun, but Ava's feeling sick now. So Marcel walked her back to the jeep." He eyes Jace cautiously before looking at me again. "You ready to go?"

I nod but I can feel Jace's eyes burning into my back. Turning around, I try to smile but it feels unbelievably fucking strained.

"Guess I'll see you later."

Before Jace can say anything, Caleb clears his throat. "Come on, Lex."

"Can you give us a second?" Jace asks, his tone sharp but not completely pissed.

"Couldn't you have given us a night?" Caleb shoots back. "This was supposed to be something fun for the four of us. But you just had to crash the party, huh?."

"Grow the fuck up," Jace says, the hint of a sneer on his face.

Caleb grinds his teeth. "Screw this. "

He turns around and storms off. I start after him only to be pulled back by Jace's steal hold.

"Lex."

"I gotta talk to him, Jace."

"You need to stop babying him. If he wants to throw a goddamn temper tantrum then let him go."

Looking up at him, my eyes narrow, anger for my friend swelling up inside of me. "You wouldn't understand. I don't just abandon my friends."

Jace lets go, snatching his hand away like the feel of my skin has burned him. With a curl of his lip, he nods in the direction Caleb went. "Fine. Go chase him down. But I don't wanna hear shit when he takes out his meltdown on you."

"You don't know him like I do."

Jace leans forward, pinning me with his stare. "No, I know him better."

With one last pointed look, I turn my back on Jace and run after Caleb. I'm able to catch up enough to follow him to the parking lot where Marcel and Ava are already waiting in the jeep. Ava's hunched over in the front seat while Marcel rubs her back and watches us through the window.

"Caleb!" I shout behind him. "Caleb, will you fucking stop?"

He whips around so fast I jump back, caught off guard.

"What, Lex?"

"I don't get what's going on. Please, just talk to me."

I don't know what Caleb see's when he looks at me but the anger in his eyes fades. He takes a deep breath, his body relaxing a fraction.

"I can't fucking stand that guy."

"Why?" I step closer.

He bites his lip, taking a second to think before heaving another sigh. "Because, he comes back here and walks around like he fucking owns everything he see's, you included."

I open my mouth to speak but I can't find the words. He's not entirely wrong, but he also doesn't see the sides of Jace that I do, the good ones. Like when he remembers small details from when we were kids, or how Jace looked out for me at that party, and how he was a complete gentleman when we shared his bed. But it's also hard to see the good in someone when all you can focus on is the bad, and that's what Caleb's doing. He doesn't want to see anything in Jace other than what he already does.

I can't fully blame Caleb for that either, though. His best friend ditched him, someone who was like his brother, and it's not like Jace is really trying to make up for that.

Fuck, I'm so stuck in the middle and don't know what to do.

"How can you be friends with him again?" The betrayal and hurt in Caleb's eyes keep me quiet. "Do you not remember what he did? Cause I do. I was the one who was there for you when you cried over that asshole."

He's not yelling, just calmly asking questions I don't have the answers for.

I shake my head, trying to think. "He didn't do what I thought he did."

"Is that what he told you?" He snaps. "And you believe him?"

"Why are you doing this?"

I'm so confused. This is not like Caleb. He doesn't lose his shit like this.

"Me? Why can't you see him for who he is?"

"I-I," I struggle to find the words to make him understand. "I think he's changed."

Caleb steps away. "But he hasn't. He can't. He'll always be the same arrogant bastard he's always been."

What?

"You can't believe that. You guys used to be friends."

"Lexi," Caleb's voice softens. "Jace and I stopped being friends long before he moved to the Westside."

I drop my head, my eyes falling on the blacktop beneath my shoes.

This doesn't make sense. We were all friends. The three of us. That only ended after Jace and I broke up.

I try to search my mind for memories to back my feelings but it's hard to do.

Fuck, I can't think straight right now.

"I'm gonna head home," Caleb says.

I look up as he walks away. "But we rode here together."

"I'll call an Umber. I just need some time, Lex," he calls over his shoulder.

Time for what? To decide to stop being my friend or to accept that Jace and I are?

Watching him walk away, I hope with everything that I have that it's the latter. I don't know what I'll do if it's not.

So much for our fun night out. And just to make matters worse, I remember our prizes, still sitting behind the food stand.

Hey everyone, happy update day!

This one took a couple extra days to finish up and truthfully, I still feel like it's not 100% perfect, but I'm gonna move on. I can always come back and fix it down the line.

Anyway, what are your thoughts and feelings about this chapter? Do you think Caleb's being just a little overdramatic? What do you think of the back anf forth between Jace?

Let me know what you think in the comments, and if you enjoyed the read, please vote and tap that star buttone.

I also must warn that even though things have been really tame, this story will be starting to heat up pretty soon. Just a heads up!

As usual, keep an eye on my Instagram and Twitter for the chapter 12 teaser in the next couple days.
