ADRIAN'S P.O.V

        Daniel was sound asleep on the couch in the span of five minutes. After dinner we moved to the couch and I told him I'd dish us dessert, which consisted of Mochi and some Matcha. By the time I came turned around he was lightly snoring in an uncomfortable position. I hope school wasn't tiring him out out so much.

           I set the plate down on the coffee table and turned to him. Poor baby, I rested my fingers on his cheek and moved them softly.  I'd talk to him about it later. I grabbed a blanket from the closet and draped it over him before fixing his body more. I turned the volume to the TV down to zero and turned the subtitles on.

       More Mochi and Matcha for me, I grabbed a plate and started munching on the vanilla mochi before grabbing the strawberry flavored one. I found my eyes on him though. He was sleeping so soundly . He shuffled around and his entire leg landed on my laugh. I let out a chuckle and shook my head. He stretched and let out a groan before getting comfortable again.

           I turned back to my show and scrolled through my phone for a bit.

6:15 pm Galvin: Clinic is ass today

I chuckled and quickly typed my respond

6:17 pm Adrian: Sucks to suck, I work a short ass shift tomorrow

6:17 pm Galvin: That's because you kiss ass and they like you, I refuse to be treated like a slave.

I coughed and rolled my eyes, Galvin reminded me of my patient and Daniel's friend  Taylor. Both out of pocket and always on one hundred.

6:18 pm Adrian: Drinks, this weekend?

I typed, I had the entire weekend off and despite being a homebody I wanted to get out for once.

6:19 Galvin: Oh shit, hell yeah.. you payin?

6:20 Adrian: Bro..

6:21 Galvin: Kidding, kidding. I got you just this once baby <3

I burst out laughing but put a hand over my mouth to not be so loud. I cut my phone out and focused on the show. My eyes started to grow heavy and I did my best to keep them open but I just felt so comfortable and warm that I felt myself falling asleep.

      Someone shuffled beside me and I groaned, I could tell I was sweaty as hell. I moved around trying to get comfortable but I couldn't breathe. I finally opened my eyes to see Daniel laying on top of me. His bangs were drenched with sweat and he was moving around. We had both fallen asleep on the couch, the blanket and us being on top of each other caused us to sweat.

  "Daniel..". I whispered, shaking him softly. He snorted and moved his leg against me.

"Daniel". I said again, patting his back, he shook his head but finally lifted his head. He looked down at me in confusion before he jumped up and let out a few curse words. "Fuck, I was so comfortable! I didn't even realize." He said, tugging on his shirt. I pulled on mine and it was soaked, trying not to laugh.

    "What's so funny?". He asked, moving his hair from his face. "You are a terrible sleeper." I said, causing him to roll his eyes. "Whatever, whatever. I have to go." He said, looking around for his bag. I wish he would just stay but I decided not to ask this time.

       "I'll bring you breakfast tomorrow?". I asked as he rushed out of the door.

"Yeah! yeah sure!". He yelled back, closing the door behind him.

      I watched him from the window as he pulled out of my driveway. I slid my shirt off and grabbed the comforter off of the couch. I'd have to wash it all. Two grown men wrapped in a blanket on the couch was not it. Unless the AC was on. I decided to do laundry in general and gathered all my dirty clothes. Turning the machine, I poured all the liquids needed and threw everything in. I undressed and threw those clothes in as well. Before turning the knob and walking into my bathroom.

      I turned the shower on and touched my face. I'd also trim my face. Once I was finished I put on a new pair of fresh clothes and set my alarm. Turning the TV off, I turned off all the lights and headed to my room, it was now almost midnight.

        Setting my alarm, I slid under the sheets and scrolled through my phone for a few moments before heading to bed.

        My hand went to my phone before the alarm went off, my body was so used to waking up at this time that I probably didn't even need an alarm. Better safe than sorry. I slid from under the covers and moved my clothes to the dryer before taking a quick shower. I reached for a sweater and some black slacks along with some boots.

        I walked to the kitchen after brushing my teeth and washing my face and made a bowl of oatmeal.  After I was finished, I cooked a breakfast sandwich and cut up some fruit for Daniel. Looking around my fridge, I reached for my meal prepped lunch and packed my lunch box with it, some protein bars, a water and some other things.

I texted Daniel good morning and figured he was asleep because he didn't respond and packed my car up. Once I set the alarmed I hopped into my Jeep and headed towards Daniel house. I had a short shift today, I knew he worked so I decided I'd go to the gym with Galvin after work then possibly pop up at Daniel's job for a moment.

       No, maybe I should fallback. Daniel and I were not together. Maybe I looked lame  hanging out at the Bakery like that. I wonder what his friend's thought. No, I was a grown man. Why did I care what his friend's thought. I was Adrian Cantu. I pulled up at a red light and groaned.

         Still that insecure little boy who was way too emotional I replayed Shannon's words in my head.  That was back then though. Maybe that was the problem, I always told Daniel how I liked and sending him breakfast and maybe it was all too much for him. I turned onto his street and pulled up near his house confused.

         His car wasn't there and it was taped up with caution tape. I pulled my phone out to call him but he didn't answer. A construction worker appeared from the backyard and I got out of my car to greet them.

"Good morning, did one of the owners leave earlier today?". I asked him, he gave me a confused look.  "This place has been vacant for a few days due to construction". He said, scratching his head. I raised an eyebrow. "Do you know where they went?". I asked him even more confused.

         "I'm not really allowed to give away the information". He said, frowning.

"I understand, I'm sorry your trouble. I hope you have a good day". I replied before trying to call Daniel again. It was almost five in the morning. I had none of his friends number and not like Taylor would know where he was.

        Maybe he was at work. He probably had an early morning prep.

I started my car again and headed towards the Bakery. Once I was there, I pulled into the driveway and noticed his car under a huge tree. The parking lot was empty though and the lights were off. I googled the hours and saw they opened at eight today. I squinted again trying to see if any lights were on before parking the car.

            I looked over at Daniel's car and got out of mine. It was chilly this morning. I walked to his car after grabbing the bag of food  and peaked in the front seat. He wasn't in the car but I noticed some clothes on the passenger seat. I looked into the backseat and felt my heart drop.

            He was curled in a ball in the back seat passed out. I quickly started tapping on the window.  "Daniel."  I said, knocking on the window more roughly. He quickly picked his head up on alert. Once he saw me his eyes went wide and he just stared at me.

         "Open the door." I mouthed. He just stared and shook his head no.

"Daniel." I said sternly and his face went bloodshot red.

      He clicked the seat belt and untied it from the car handle before opening the door. "Yes..". He said, not looking me in the eye. He moved back as I slid into the car and closed the door behind me.

          "Mind telling me why you're sleeping in you car at your job?". I asked him and he scoffed.

"I like to pretend I'm camping". He mumbled, running a hand through his hair. He groaned and stretched but let out a grunt when his back let out a loud crack.  "Daniel, come on". I said and he leaned back into the seat and groaned.

        "My grandparents are having the house renovated..". He said and I let out a small sigh of relief. It wasn't anything too serious.

"That doesn't explain why you're sleeping in your car". I said and he rolled his eyes.

"Yes it does, No one can be in the house during it and my grandparents decided to go on vacation during it.. I didn't want to bother Taylor's family to stay there with August and I didn't want them to pay for hotel stay..". He said. His stomach growled. I handed him the the container and he thanked me.

           "Why didn't you as-".

"How could I? You've already done so much for me..". He whispered, taking a huge bite of the sandwich. He groaned and leaned and fourth in his seat. "So good.." He moaned with his mouth full.

   "Daniel, I have a guest room you could've stayed in, it's literally no trouble. I get you not wanting to burden anyone but it's okay to as for help sometime". I said. I was honestly getting annoyed, hurt that he didn't think to ask me.

               He lowered his hands and rubbed his eyes. "How'd you even find out?" He asked confused.

  "Last night you said I could bring you breakfast so I tried to drop it off this morning". I said and his eyes widened at the realization. "I was in such a rush I didn't even notice I agreed". He groaned and covered his face.  "This is so embarrassing". He grumbled. Taking another bite of his sandwich.

"You're staying at my house until it's done, no questions". I said, snatching his pillow and blanket before he could object. He opened his mouth to say something but I glared at him. He went quiet and simply nodded.

          He rubbed his eyes again and muttered asshole under his breath before getting into his front seat and started the car. I walked back to my car trying to hide the huge smile on face before getting in. He followed me out of the parking lot just as one of his coworkers were pulling into prep the store.

This would be interesting.
