DANIEL'S P.O.V

My alarm went off and I let out a groan, it was four in the morning. I felt like shit and my back hurt. I unlocked my door and grabbed my hygiene bag. Fidgeting with the keys, I opened the bakery and turned off the alarm. After locking the doors behind me I went into the workers bathroom. Thankfully it was in perfect condition. I brushed my teeth and washed my face before pulling out a rag and my bar of soap.

Come on Daniel, you only had to do this for a few days. I wet the rag and started washing myself in the sink. Once I was done, I put my dirty clothes in a bag, changed into some new clothes and locked the shop back up and headed to my car. Karla was back and would be opening the store soon.

I pulled out of the parking lot and decided to fill my tank and drive to campus. I wish I knew someone who lived on campus, I could just make up some lie that I had to be here early. I parked in the parking spot and arranged everything in my trunk before grabbing my book bag.

The study hall was open twenty-four seven so I could take a quick nap in there. It was starting to rain again so I rushed into the building a found a nice table in the back.

Once I was settled, I pulled my hoodie out of my bag and tugged it on.

"Hi". A deep voice said and I looked over to see Henry, the guy from the coffee shop.

"Hi?". I said confused, what the hell was doing here.

"I go here..". he responded, reading my mind. I slowly shook my head. That was fine but why was he bothering me.

"Oh.. I also go here". I finally said, he took that as an invitation to sit down and I mentally groaned. "I just transferred here last week, I live on campus..I couldn't sleep so I just came here to do some reading". He replied, pulling out a textbook.

I really didn't want to have a conversation. I wanted to sleep before my first class of the day. I was hoping he would take the hint but he just started going over pages. "Okay, well I'll see you around". I said, getting up from the table.

"Wait, where are you going?". He asked, staring deeply into my eyes. "If you don't mind, I'd like to take a nap". I said.

"I mean, you don't have to move to do that. I'll be quiet.. plus no one would try to mess with you while you're asleep". He suggested.

You're messing with my sleep. I wanted to say but instead I sat back down and laid my head on the table. I put my airpods in and closed my eyes, already feeling myself fall asleep.

"Daniel..". Someone whispered and I shook my head. Their hand landed on my shoulder and I jerked my body before panicking and lifting my head up. "Hey hey, it's just me". Henry said as I looked around frantically. I rubbed my eyes and looked around.

"Oh shit". I muttered, grabbing my backpack.

"It's seven thirty, I just didn't want you to miss any classes, are you okay?". He asked, I nodded and looked down at the table. Great, I drooled all over it. I used the sleeve of my hoodie to wipe it off and Henry chuckled. "I have a class at eight, I have to get to". He said and I raised an eyebrow.

"I do too". I responded, pulling my phone out. I smiled at the good morning text from Adrian and got up from my chair. "Thanks for uh.. watching me while I slept?". I said and Henry smiled.

"Anytime, I'm actually gonna head out too". He said getting up. I nodded and headed out of the building, I was working up an appetite. I had also finally told Adrian he didn't have to get me breakfast every single morning. I was still so tired. Dragging my feet along the concrete my phone went off and I answered.

"Bestie, where are you?". August asked and I laughed. "I'm headed there right now". I said, looking around for a vending machine. "Okay, I brought us breakfast!". August said and I thanked heavens.

"You're my hero". I said, hanging up the phone and putting it back in my pocket. Out the corner of my eye, I looked over and saw Henry walking by me.

I cut the corner and so did he.

I walked up the stairs and so did he.

I walked into my lecture room and so did he.

Finally I turned around to say something but he took a seat and pulled his notebook out. We had the same class, he looked over at me and smiled and I turned my attention over to August who waved me over.

"Sorry I didn't come over this morning, I got a little occupied." He said, his hand went over the hickey that I already noticed and he handed me a brown paper bag. I gave him that look and he rolled his eyes. "Yes by occupied I was totally having mind blowing sex with both of my partners". He said, throwing his hands in the air. I chuckled and opened the bag.

My heart melted, it was huge slice of banana bread. I quickly dug in and sat beside him. "Am I seeing things? Isn't that mysterious customer over there?" August asked. I was too busy, stuffing the slice of goodness in my mouth. I nodded and he gave me a confused look.

"Transfer student". I spoke, grabbing my water bottle. He lifted his head as he understood. "Wanna finish playing that game at your house today?". He asked and I froze. "N-no not today, how about I just come to yours?". I suggested and he nodded. "I'm cool with tha- oh wait.. We were having date night". He said, giving me a sorry look.

"It's okay August, I hope you have fun". I teased, turning in my seat as the professor came in and began the lecture.

8:33 AM Adrian- Can I see you today?

8:34 AM Daniel- Sure, I'm off today.

8:39 AM Adrian- Perfect, I'll pick you up around four?

8:42 AM Daniel- No, I can meet you at your house (:

I looked back up and started taking more notes when he agreed.

August and I literally have every single class together and I was so happy about that, we were just taking our basics at the moment. We has just finished our classes for the day and were about to head out. "I'm sorry I'm just leaving you hanging". He said, frowning.

"August, It's okay. Besides I can just go home and nap anyways, I'm exhausted". I said. I really needed my back cracked. My body was so sore from sleeping in the car. August pulled me into a hug and told me he would text me later. I watched him walk away and turned around to see Henry.

"Are you following me?". I joked.

"And if I am?". He replied, closing his notebook.

"That would be weird..". I say, adjusting my book bag.

"I'm sorry, I got a little excited when I recognized someone here, I'm just new and don't have any friends" He said, running a hand through his hair. I had a few hours to kill until I met up with Adrian and sighed. I knew what it was like being the new kid in town. "Have you joined any clubs?". I suggested and he shook his head no.

"Not really my scene, what about you?". He asked and I shook my head no. "I mean, I have friends and I work so.." I said.

"Was he your boyfriend?". He asked and I shook my head no.

"Why are you so worried about it? Who say's I'm gay?". I asked him.

He chuckled and looked me up and down.

"I'm just a nosey person I guess, which brings me to my next question.. mind showing me around?". He asked and I scoffed.

"Honestly, I only really know where the cafeteria is, my classes and the study hall". I said nervously. He shook his head in amusement. "Want to come back to my dorm then? maybe you can give me ideas on how to decorate". He suggested. I rolled my eyes but agreed and followed him to the dorms.

"Are you gay?". I asked him, he turned and gave me a look. "No sir, I have a girlfriend". He responded. Unlocking his door, he opened it wide enough for me to go in and I looked around. He had his own room, it was neat besides a few boxes still on the floor.

My eyes wandered to a picture of him and a girl . That must be his girlfriend, she was really pretty. "Where is she?". I asked and he frowned. "Back in my hometown, when I graduate I'll be heading back home". He said and I nodded.

"What are you?". I asked.

"Junior, I had to transfer to take certain classes". He replied, setting his bag on the bed and groaning. "Sucks because I'm used to seeing her everyday". He said, he pulled his phone out and stared at me.

"What about you?". He asked and I shrugged.

"Dating isn't really my thing". I said, taking a seat at his desk. He raised an eyebrow.

"I like someone but it's complicated." I said, not wanting to talk about. He sat up from the bed and kept staring. "Okay fine, I like the dude from the coffee shop. Not the one I was working with". I said, leaning my head on my hand. He clapped his hands and pointed at me. "I knew it, it's written all over your face". He said and I gasped.

Was it really?

"What's so complicated about it?". He asked and I sighed. "He's a Doctor, like certified shit. He's got everything going for him and I'm just some dumb college kid". I found myself saying. Henry stayed silent for a moment.

"I get it, you don't feel good enough?". He asked and I lifted my head up before nodding. "I mean it makes sense but does he like you?". He asked.

"I mean, he tells me all the time and we hang out a lot but It's just too good to be true". I said, playing with my hands. "I totally get it, my girlfriend is way too good for me and sometimes it feels like she's gonna leave me for someone way better than me..". He started and I felt my heart start to race.

Someone understood.

"But I have to understand that I can't control whether that happens or not and right now she's with me and she's honestly given me no reason to doubt her intentions". Henry said and I bit my bottom lip. He was right, Adrian never gave me any doubt, it was honestly my own insecurity.

It was nice talking to someone about this. I felt myself smile and agreed. "You're right but it's ha-."

"Hard when you've felt this way for so long?". He said, cutting me off. I nodded and he laughed. "Trust me, I know how you feel. I've learned to not worry so much about things I can't control". He said before reaching for the TV remote.

He turned his gaming station on and looked over at me. "Now Daniel, please tell me you play videogames? I could really use a player two". He said, holding up a black controller. I rolled my eyes and grabbed it.

"Player two? I'm player one!" I argued and made myself comfortable on his bed.

I said my goodbye to Henry after he walked me back to my car . We had played videogames for hours and talked about so many things. It turned out we had a lot in common. I even met his girlfriend over face time. She was such a sweetheart. I could tell he was in love. It must be nice having a partner.

Pulling my phone out, I texted Adrian and let him know I was on the way before hitting Aspen up. I tried to check on him often. I knew he wasn't okay. After the whole break up with Bryan. A few times I felt he wanted to tell me why they broke up but he always stopped himself and changed the subject.

I pulled off campus and started my drive to Adrian's house. He wasn't that far of a drive.

"I never wanna hear you say.. I want it that way!". I sang, turning down his street. I pulled into his driveway and parked my car.

4:12 PM Aspen- I'll be okay , honest (:

He replied and I put my phone away. He was a terrible liar even over text. I knocked on the door and Adrian opened the door with a smile on his face.

"Hungry?". He asked and I nodded my head.

"Starving."
