The Right Idea

His ears perked up as he heard a gut wrenching sound. The fox sat up and looked beside him to see if his bunny was next to him. Like before, she wasn't.

Nick groaned as he heard the sound again while getting up in the process.

He approached the bathroom door which was already open. He looked down to see his bunny on her knees, using her paws to prop herself up. She was currently puking in the toilet, and as bad as it sounds, this was only a week or two after she had found out she was pregnant.

Nick slid his back down the door and sat by the bunny with his eyes closed. "Judy.." He muttered to her. She grabbed a towel and wiped her mouth, sitting back as she did so.

"I want to go home Nick." She said plainly with no emotion.

"Then we'll go home." He replied.

"No...I want to go see my parents."

"Then we'll go see them."

"Why do you sound sarcastic?"

"I always sound sarcastic, Carrots, what do you expect me to sound like?"

"Like a loving boyfriend who supports his pregnant girlfriend."

"Ugh..here we go again.."

"Why do you act like you don't love me?" She said with tears in her eyes.

"Judy, we've been over this.."

The bunny slowly got up and rolled her eyes. "You liar."  The bunny said while walking to the bed and sitting down.

"Judy, you know I love you. I don't know why you're acting like this but I guess we'll go see your parents." He said before sighing.

The bunny somewhat smiled. "Can we go know?"

"Yeah, let's get our stuff together."

The two got their suitcases and stuff together and soon left the hotel, without paying the bill.

Apparently, being a sly Fox he managed to get out of three thousand dollars worth of stay at this beach side hotel. All he had to say was that his wife caught flees and was being treated at the hospital..

Even though he doesn't have a wife..

Noch...noch nicht...

When the two left, they were closer to bunny burrow than they thought..
Once they arrived Nick was nervous yet again..last time it was just meeting them, but this time it's them meeting their unborn baby.

And the fox wasn't sure if her father would approved of that. That's what definitely made him nervous..

But he decided this time he'd man up and just go with whatever. He knew he'd still be with Judy, and he'd be damned if someone would interrupt their relationship.

Just as they pulled into the driveway, Judy's phone rung so she answered it.

"Hello?"

"Officer Hopps..are you and Wilde making your way back to Zootopia any time soon?" A deep voice spoke. Judy recognized it and sighed.

"Yes chief. We're just visiting my parents in bunny burrow."

"You are to be back in Zootopia by tonight, understand, Hopps?"

"Yes sir." She said before hanging up.

"Who was it, Carrots?" Her fox asked.

"Why do you care?"

Nick rolled his eyes while he put the car in park. "Guess I won't ask then."

"You already did!" She yelled at him.

Nick sighed and got out the car before walking around it and opening the car door for Judy.

"I'm an independent woman, I don't need you to open doors for me!"

"Fine." He said and closed the door.

"Oh, so now you're gonna close the door on your girlfriend?!"

"What happened to miss independent?"

"She died when you got me pregnant!"

The fox rolled his eyes again and left the bunny in the car.

"Keep rolling your eyes so they can get stuck in that small head of yours!"

"Your head is smaller than mine!"

"Who are you yelling at?!"

Oh my gosh...this is hell...He thought.

Once they got to the door, Nick knocked on it a few times and
soon the door opened, revealing Stu, Judy's father.

"Get me away from that fool." She said while pushing her father aside and walking in.

Stu looked at Nick with an eyebrow raised. "Please don't ask." The fox groaned.

Stu nodded and let Nick in before closing the door. Inside, Judy was sitting on the couch and Nick decided to sit by her. Which in fact was a bad idea.

"Why are you sitting by me!" She said and slapped him.

The fox apologized and sat in a different seat, as far away from her as possible.

"Oh, hello Judy, hello Nick." Bonnie said, smiling.

"Hey Mrs.Hopps." Nick said, dryly.

"What's wrong sweetheart?"

"Judy. That's what's wrong."

"Why are you blaming this on me!? You got me pregnant!"

Everyone gasped and Nick just closed his sleep deprived eyes and leaned back.
"S-she's pregnant?" Stu stuttered, looking from Nick to Judy.

Bonnie couldn't contain her squeal and she grinned. "Oh, congratulations!" She cheered.

"Yeah," Nick groaned. "Congratulations to me being stuck with a moody rabbit."

"I'm a bunny."

"Whatever."

Bonnie smiled at the two. "Oh, Nick. It's normal for you two to get in arguments when she's pregnant."

"How is that normal?"

"Because it's just a process of it, just call it mood swings." She said while chuckling.

"Wait...so you, a fox...got my daughter, a bunny...pregnant?" Stu muttered.

"Yeah..I guess." Nick admitted.

"Why? How? When?"

"Why? Because I love her. How? The same way other animals get pregnant. When? Two weeks ago."

"Aw, so Ju Ju got pregnant by a fox?" Her little sister, Suzy asked.

"Yeah. Which reminds me, Stu, could we talk for a bit?" Nick said and dragged the bunny by the paw and to the kitchen.

"What us it, fox?"

"I know you don't like me, but please...give me some advice."

"So, how long are you?" Bonnie asked.

"Two weeks. I'm already having morning sickness." Judy replied.

"Well..it's normal. So hybrid, huh?"

"Yeah.."

"Why are you being mean to him?" June, another one of Judy's many sisters said.

"What do you mean? I'm always nice to Nick." Judy replied the apparent obvious.

"No..Because we heard you yelling at him, then you called him a fool, then you slapped the hell out of him-"

"Suzy!" Bonnie said to the seven year old.

"Sorry mommy."

"He can be irritating some times." Judy admitted.

"You don't think you're irritating also?" Said Bonnie in a motherly tone.

"Of course. But I'm not as irritating as him."

"Yeah you are Judy. You're soo irritating, you never clean your room, you always complain, you're soo inconsiderate, you always do what you want and never care abou-"

"Alright Suzy! I get it!"  Judy shouted.

"I'm just stating the obvious."

"What I'm saying Judy," Bonnie continued. "At least try not to be so rude. You don't want him to be rude back, do you?"

"No."

"Right, because foxes are aggressive. They could easily hurt you without meaning to." She warned.

"Nick wouldn't hurt me mom."

"We may be evolved, but deep down, we are still animals. We are still primitive by the blood, by the soul, Judes."

Judy nodded, paying attention to her mother. "I dunno why I'm moody."

"Because you're pregnant. Pregnant people are moody. Trust me, I've been pregnant more than three times, it's not an easy job." Bonnie advised.

"I'll take note of that, mom." Judy said while chuckling.

"What do you think they're talking about?"

Judy looked to the door to the kitchen and smiled. "I think I have the right idea."
